Greetings DebateArt!

Today is the first stage of the Hall of Fame process. This stage will last from now until October 22nd, at 12:30 CST. A few reminders about the Hall of Fame.

  • Mass PM threads, campaigning, and coordinating votes is prohibited. If any votes are found to be correlated, the votes will be nullified
  • You can vote for anyone you would like (as long as isn't an excessively bad choice (someone permabanned)), but do note that moderation has the right to nullify any thread, user, or debate if believed to be working in coordination with people to obtain votes
  • Self voting is allowed, though it gives you a bad look as it goes against the integrity of the Hall of Fame
For the nomination stage, you can nominate 3 users, 3 threads, and 3 debates to be nominated and put into the Hall of Fame! If the votes are relatively close, we will choose 4-6 nominees per category and proceed to the voting stage.

In addition, you may select miscellaneous things as well (things that don't fit either category)

  • THBT: On balance, the US ought to make abortion illegal.
    • Not to toot my own horn here, but a debate is a two person effort and Whiteflames performed exceptionally well. The matchup itself of this debate elicited much interest from the community, as evidenced through the 275 comments. Furthermore, I may have to verify this, but I believe that this is the debate with the most votes (serious debate, being any with a no forfeit and an r1 of more than 100 characters), with votes from the likes of Barney and MisterChris. 
I will consider any more nominations in the future.

My time has relaxed finally, so I am to write in my votes for the Hall of Fame

Users
Greyparrot - #1 forum poster, active on the site, he has been a pillar to the site in helping the political forum survive and was very influential into the spread of mafia

3RU7AL - Presidential candidate with over 13k forum posts, he ran a very good campaign overall. Not to mention he is a very likeable person and contributes a lot to the site

iLikePie5 - someone who has consistently been around on the site, while he may not be the most prolific debater, he has certainly engaged in the community being the #5 best poster all time 

My decision are not final and are subject to change, but this is what I'm feeling at this moment

What has Airmax done to deliver on campaign promises? by RationalMadman
Reasoning: This was one of the earlier threads to call out Airmax's inactivity after becoming president.It didn't get many replies, but it expressed a growing doubt at the time that would be later confirmed

I do not believe Shila is a bot by RationalMadman
Reasoning: Bots are a pretty big deal for a site like this. Those who were on DDO during 2018 know all too well about this. If a bot scare on DART doesn't make the HoF, I don't know what will

it shows the corruption of this site, and also the embarrassing downfall of a highly inflated ego - morally mompoys person, who was funnily brought down. I still wonder if Oromagi thinks about this painful loss to his foe, who he has in more than one occasion insulted. Honestly, he probs thinks he should have won, but of course this would be a deception fueled by people patting his ego down.

I'm still deciding on the others, but this one stands out as one of the better debates I read this year that didn't get a whole lot of love. Christianm could have done better, but I think he makes some solid points, even while Tejretics is putting in quite a bit of work to knock them down.
