I think that's a great idea. I'm currently pressed for time, but whenever time permits me to be on the site, i'd rather not see posts I've elected to ignore. That said, I guess you could add a second feature that allows you to see what "Hide" posters are writing about. Sometimes, I want my freedom to quote/tag "Hide" users without unnecessarily antagonizing them since they won't know that I've effectively "hide" them permanently.

Even on this website alone, when I block and ignore bullies, I still get taunted even for that ignoring. This is the truth. Ignoring sometimes works but isn't always optimal at all, it depends on the bully and scenario.

The admonishment "love your neighbor as yourself" is functionally indistinguishable from "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" is functionally indistinguishable from "treat your fellows with fairness".

"Treat others with fairness" is completely different than "In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets."

Simply put, ending the life of another human unjustly is wrong because you that person is an image-bearer of God. The early-stage fetus is a life. The majority of abortions are done because the people engaging in sex don't want the responsibility of parenthood. That is not a just reason to kill a child, no matter what stage it is in.

Do you love your neighbor as yourself? If so, why do you reject the other commands like wearing fabrics of multiple materials? Sounds like your picking and choosing...

You are jumping between meanings of the phrase "golden rule." If you are referring to the teaching of Jesus, it does not just mean being fair or being nice. If you are referring to the concept of being nice that most people understand, that is not a biblical understanding of "love your neighbor as yourself."

This is incorrect. Implicit racism can be seen and pointed out just as explicit racism despite racists not being explicit in order to avoid the social and political backlash.

Implicit racism - or unintentional intentional racism - is basically an unfalsifiable accusation. It is an accusation against motivations in which you are guilty until proven innocent.

Calling someone out on their racism is not racism.

In no case is "white supremacist" purely descriptive. That is why when people use it, it is regarded as an insult -- no one wants to be called a white supremacist. Wikipedia probably agrees with this notion because it doesn't want 'black nationalism' to be ascribed as 'black supremacy', most likely because 'black supremacy' would be a slur referencing race (racial slur).

No, it’s an attack on white people who hold racist attitudes. HUGE difference.

You've already conceded the argument with this statement because you described them as "white" people. If race had no bearing on this, then the (non-racial) slur would be "supremacist".

Not all black people were slaves. Some were slave owners themselves, so the term really doesn’t hold up for them does it?

It's possible to call someone a racial slur *without* believing all people of that race are that racial slur.

One of take away I heard on the NPR interview, was that it should not be so easy for a emotionally distraught person to go buy a gun at local retail store --ex Walmart--- and he gave another example of seemingly rational people loosing their access to the empathetic center so of the brain.

Well Abraham didn't have email. But can you think of any way that the teachings of Israel could have been seen or heard by the Egyptians? We're the Israelites in contact with Egypt for any length of time around the time of Moses?
