Greetings, everyone!
It has been a great pleasure and honor to serve as the head moderator of DebateArt.com. I have been a moderator for almost 3 years. I decided that it was time for me to step down as head moderator. Over the past few months I’ve been taking a back seat as I am working on my bachelors degree. I will still be in on the mod team as an advisor and will still be on the site.
Ragnar has also opted to step down. I appreciate the work he has done for the community.

These threats included names of family members, description of residence, and more.

After reviewing their history, the moderation team has decided that Singularity, AKA Wylted, will be indefinitely banned from the site. This is an unusual course of action for the moderation team to take. A few key points that went into our decision include:Repeatedly glorifying rape and sexual assault;Repeatedly glorifying hate groupsRepeatedly glorifying sexual abuse towards minors, and most disturbingly,Portraying himself as a 13-year-old-girl towards a 14-year-old boy; andMulti-accounting to circumvent his ban.Let me make this clear: The moderation team will not tolerate any glorification of Nazis, rape, pedophilia, and sexual assault.
This is all there is to it. Point blank. I don't care if you're trolling or not. It's about protecting ourselves legally and protecting newcomers to the site.

I am back after a bit of a hiatus. The Fall semester is finally over so I will have more time to dedicate myself to DART! We are going to be hosting a live debate tournament utilizing the Lincoln-Douglas format. This will be a single-elimination tournament.
LD Format
6min - Pro Constructive
3min - Con CX's Pro
7min - Con Constructive AND Rebuttal
3min - Pro CX's Con
4min - Pro Rebuttal and Defense
6min - Con Rebuttal and Defense
3min - Pro Rebuttal and Defense
Each debater has 4 minutes of prep time which they may use at their discretion, so long as it does not interrupt an ongoing speech or CX.
You are free to choose whatever topic you decide and the position you will take. Debates will take place when all parties are available. Once I generate the brackets, you have 48 hours to choose a topic and a side. Failure to do so will result in me picking for you.
