Mission Two
The Alliance of New Hope Is still reeling from the recent embarrassment that was it’s most recent mission. Internally trust between various factions of the movement has diminished. Externally many foreign backers have withdrawn financial support due to a perceived lack of leadership competence. The fact that the Odigos propaganda machine has been working overtime to capitalize on the situation has not helped. The military has taken full advantage of this situation to make a series of high-profile arrests of various southern province nobility suspected of conspiring with the resistance that would normally be too powerful to touch. To make matters worse, most of the nobles in question are actually guilty and until now were incredibly valuable to the resistance. The Alliance of New Hope plans on rescuing these prisoners and helping them escape to the western continent. Doing so would not just be a huge embarrassment to the more conservative elements of the military that ordered these arrests and the Hegemony as a whole, but also send the message that friends of the resistance will be repaid with loyalty.
The first mission leader for this mission is Ilikepie5. Three players are needed for the next mission.
Player list:
1) Earth
2) IlikePie5
3) Oromagi
4) RationalMadman
5) SupaDudz
6) Whiteflame

To persevere in times of strife
To never lose our heart
“Turn it off”
To show to others the good and right
Of our great hegemon!
“I SAID TURN THAT SHIT OFF!”
The viewer went blank, leaving the room and the six individuals within in an awkward silence that seemed to last for hours. Finally the one that had called the meeting spoke again.
“So… that was our message of inspiration against oppression?”
No response
“We hijacked a relay tower and held innocent people at gunpoint to broadcast to all of Elpizo the FUCKING ODIGOS ANTHEM?!”
There was another long pause before another spoke up.
“Someone had to have switched the data chip. Someone that had access to the lockbox before the mission, we were all there when it was put in. Only two people had the lockbox code. The two people that needed the code for the mission.”
Accusing stares. More silence.
Mission One Result: Failure by sabotage

The mission is a go! RationalMadman and Earth will both be given an opportunity to sabatoge the mission if they are spies and required to send me a PMeddage no matter what their affiliation (don't need any of you nerds using whether someone was online during a certain period of time as analysis).
The first mission leader for the next round will be ILikePie5.
This thread is now closed. See you next round and good luck to both teams.

Mission Proposal Voting
Mission: Propaganda Broadcast
Mission Leader: Earth
Mission team: Earth and RationalMadman
Voting procedures...
With six players in the game, four yes votes are needed to accept this proposal (the minimum needed for a majority). The mission leader is considered a yes vote by default due to this being their idea and vote counts will reflect this by only requiring three yes votes and not counting any votes from the mission leader.
With six players in the game, three no votes are required to deny this proposal (the minimum needed to prevent a majority acceptance).
Voting period will last for 48 hours or until a yes or no vote passes. If the time limit is reached it will be treated the same as if the no vote passed.
Several people have expressed support for the current proposal before it was officially made, still need a rubber stamp from those individuals now that it is official.

No votes: none yet (0/3)

Originally no time limit for selecting team but may change that going forward. Unlike mafia there is no real culture for the exact details of this game in the DART community so somewhat playing by ear.

It has not started yet. The mission leader (in this case you) needs to select two people for the mission then people will vote to accept or reject that mission structure. Please review the three stages of play in post 3 and PM me with any questions if there is any confusion about game mechanics.

I will be sticking as close as possible to the game as described in Wikipedia, including number of players in each mission.

Points of clarification:
1) Earth IS allowed to choose himself for the mission.
2) Earth is NOT REQUIRED to pick himself for the mission (if he wants he can pick two people that are not him).
Feel free to share or hide PM bios, though please avoid copy pasting them just like in mafia. They are just flavor text and not relevant to the gameplay.

Mission One
For over a century the Hegemony has faced enemies and resistance on many fronts. Recently, however, these groups have been working more and more closely together. The Alliance of New Hope started in 886 NEC as an organization whose purpose was to aid the cooperation between various anti-government groups but gradually took form as its own entity. Just weeks ago diplomatic talks concluded between various rebel leaders to formally merge a significant portion of each others assets with the intention of finally overthrowing the Hegemon and bringing down the Hegemony. While this unprecedented level of cooperation finally allows the opportunity to complete this goal it also means all the rebels eggs are now in one basket, and there is concern that this may be exactly what the Hegemony wants. Regardless, the decision has been made and the first order of business is to get the news to the public. The plan is to hijack a media broadcast tower and play a prerecorded message on the airwaves. The hope is that this will inspire more resistance across the eastern continent and legitimize the movement in the eyes of secret backers in the western continent that have been reluctant to fund the relatively new organization.
The first mission leader is Earth

PM formats are public to limit the possibility of reads based on them…
Spy format:
Affiliation: Hegemony Spy
Partner: (Partner name)
Date of Birth: XX/XX/XXX (not relevant to gameplay)
Real bio: (Flavor text)
Cover story bio: (flavor text)
Resistance format:
Affiliation: Resistance
Date of Birth: XX/XX/XXX (not relevant to gameplay)
Bio: (flavor text)
Stages of Play:
Stage 1 - One player is made mission leader by the mod. Mission leader is given a mission and required to make a list of players to go on this mission. Discussion is allowed between players but the mission leader has final say over who is in the mission list.
Stage 2 - Discussion of the list put forward by mission leader is allowed, all players are required to vote on whether to accept this proposed list or reject it. If The vote to accept wins then Play proceeds to stage 3. If the vote to accept fails then play restarts at stage 1 with the next player in line as new mission leader. If the vote fails 5 times in a row then spies/scum win the game.
Stage 3 - The mission takes place and if any spies are on the mission they are given the opportunity to sabotage the mission. Spies are not required to sabotage a mission that they are on. If a mission is sabotaged the spies gain one point. If the mission is not sabotaged the resistance gains a point. Either way play is moved to stage one for a new mission until one team has three points. First to three points wins.

Just under 900 years ago (around 1200 years on the old Earth calendars) the New Era project, the most massive and expensive undertaking in the history of mankind, was declared complete. After two centuries of sustained effort a new world, Elpizo, had become the first self-sufficient exoplanetary colony. The naysayers had derided the idea as completely unnecessary from the start, and from a practical standpoint they were right of course. What was the real economic point of large-scale colonization at the bottom of a .8g gravity well when a few thousand orbital habitats could do the job just fine at a fraction of the cost? It was the first exoplanet that had come within humanities sphere of influence that had close enough to Earth Like conditions for such a project to even be considered, however, and of course in the middle of a new golden age people can afford to be less than practical.
If only your ancestors could see what their world would become.
Not even professional historians have all the details, but somehow a Kessler Syndrome event was triggered and the wider galactic community cut off contact with all settlements in the system in the third century NEC (New Era Calendar, the standard on Elpizo). What happened next was, given the economic self-sufficiency of the world, tragically avoidable. Lacking any interstellar ships of their own the citizens of the world had no way of investigating the mystery and were forced to forge their own paths. Over the centuries the governments of the smaller but wealthier western continent slowly grew corrupt and wasteful, while in the larger more arid eastern continent an imperialistic tyranny calling itself the Hegemony of Odigos would rise to power in 747 NEC and unite the continent under its rule within just twenty years. For over a century the Hegemony has ruled with an iron fist. This is where our story begins.
Current year: 889 NEC

@Fruit_Inspector
What you don't seem to realize is that money-making is the goal here, if plan A makes less money than plan B they will want to go with plan B.
Hypothetically speaking if Ivermectin was an effective treatment for COVID and nobody knew it except for the drug companies then what you describe is not an efficient money-making option.
Created:

@Fruit_Inspector
Who benefits if a relatively cheap drug like Ivermectin is effective against the virus, but a lot of people think it is not?
Nobody, obviously.
You are clearly not very good at thinking like a corrupt pharmaceutical company. Please leave the discussions about market manipulation to the experts in the future.
Step one: Obtain inside information about relatively cheap drug being effective against COVID.
Step two: Keep this information secret just long enough to purchase several million units of relatively cheap drug at relatively cheap price, because it is a relatively cheap drug. Few weeks at most.
Step three: Use politicians and media to release information about relatively cheap drug being effective against COVID, you are a drug company so these groups are on your side and will do what you say. Watch demand and price of drug rise.
Step four: Profit.

Decreasing government influence is not the conservative ideology and has not been for quite some time. It is instead a tactic they sometimes use to achieve some of the goals of their actual ideologies.
