Five this is three, do you read?

Three this is five I hear you, what is it?

Something came up, we’re holding another last minute meeting in our quarters.

Seriously? Alright, this better be good.

The Alliance delegation had discreetly arrived on board the PLS Steel Mamba two days ago and the ship was underway towards the next secret destination to pick up the last of the delegates that would be attending the talks. Five had taken time to become acquainted with the corridors of the ship and quickly made their way back to the quarters that had been set aside for the rebels. It wasn’t until just a few seconds before they opened the door to their own room that they noticed the unusual quiet, and it wasn’t until a few seconds after they opened it that they were able to surmise the reason for that quiet. By then the sliding door was automatically sealed and it was too late. Against the far wall sat the person they called ‘One’, tied to a chair with tape over their mouth.

“If you have any weapons I suggest you drop them now and sit down.” The two guns pointed at Five’s midsection left little room for argument. Twenty seconds later Five was bound next to One while Three and Four discussed their next move.

“Call the others down now?”

“Not yet, that Prasanios guy said he would bring them by when they were ready.”

Five took a minute to calmly assess the situation. Escape wasn’t possible, the assailants had already given One a few bruises so talk was probably pointless. Well, no harm in trying anyway right? Five took a deep breath…

“So what is going on here anyway?”

Four hardly glanced over before responding “I think you should have that figured out by now.”

Four was right. There was no more point in denying it. Five finally gave up the pretense. “How did you find out then?”

This time it was Three that responded “The Prasinos League hacked an OIA database a while back, apparently just decoded most of it this morning. Imagine everyone’s surprise when we found out you and One were marked as OIA assets. Little more digging put together the rest of the pieces and now here we are.” Three turned back to their computer as they continued “Lucky for you this happened when it did. Instead of making you dig your own grave and shooting you outright we’ll probably just hand you over to the Prasinos League for free brownie points. Easy win-win.”

With nothing left to do, Five and One awaited their fate.

Mission Proposal Voting

Mission: Pleasure Cruise
Mission Leader: oromagi
Mission team: ILikePie5, oromagi, and whiteflame

Voting procedures (review since we have a new player)...

With six players in the game, four yes votes are needed to accept this proposal (the minimum needed for a majority). The mission leader is considered a yes vote by default due to this being their idea and vote counts will reflect this by only requiring three yes votes and not counting any votes from the mission leader.

With six players in the game, three no votes are required to deny this proposal (the minimum needed to prevent a majority acceptance).

Voting period will last for 48 hours or until a yes or no vote passes. If the time limit is reached it will be treated the same as if the no vote passed.

Yes votes: ILikePie5, Ragnar, and whiteflame (3/3)
No votes: none yet (0/3)
Not voting yet: Earth and RationalMadman

Mission Four

In addition to ensuring the NEMZ will not be incorporated as a Hegemony province for the foreseeable future recent actions by the Alliance of New Hope have also caught the attention of several of the Odigos Hegemony’s foreign rivals. Desperate for resources, the Alliance of New Hope has arranged for secret diplomatic talks with some of these rivals to be held on board the PLS Steel Mamba, a fleet carrier of the Prasinos League. As a reward for recent successes all six of you have been given the cushy job of physical security for the rebel delegation. Three of you, however, will be needed for the additional sensitive task of direct bodyguards for some of the Alliance’s representatives during the talks.

The first mission leader for this mission is oromagi.

ATTENTION: SupaDudz has been replaced by Ragnar.

The Resistance - Mission Four
A few weeks had passed since the successful mission to disrupt the Hegemony's reconstruction efforts in the NEMZ and the resistance cell that had been instrumental in pulling off the job was concluding its meeting just hours before the new year when the encrypted message came in. One of the rebels read over it briefly before simply shaking their head and showing the rest.

DATE: 08/52/889
TO: ALL RED CELLS
FROM: GREEN ACTUAL
SUBJECT: SUBJECT R

SUBJECT R HAS ESCAPED ALLIANCE CUSTODY. ASSISTED BY AGENT AT GREEN HQ. TRAITOR IDENTIFIED AND UNDER INTERROGATION. LIKELY ODIGOS INTELLIGENCE AGENCY ASSET. NOT SUSPECTED TO HAVE HAD ANY OTHER OUTSIDE HELP.

"Subject R, that's what HQ was calling Reeford isn't it? What was the point of us going out and snatching the asshole if they were just going to let him get away like that?"

"We still disrupted the conference, and just the fact that we were able to capture him in the first place hurts the Hegemony bad from a PR perspective no matter how they spin it. Still, even though we had nothing to do with it the thought that even green base had an OIA mole in it is damn disturbing. Going to put a damper on the new year for sure."

The mission is a go! ILikePie5, oromagi, RationalMadman, and whiteflame will both be given an opportunity to sabotage the mission if they are spies and required to send me a PM message no matter what their affiliation (don't need any of you nerds using whether someone was online during a certain period of time as analysis).

I guarantee you there are members who barely posted there as well as onlookers to the website who took a couple of looks at threads there that never signed up specifically due to the toxic environment it has.
That the religion forums on DART are toxic and that said toxicity is a problem is something I think most can agree on. The question is how to fix it, your suggestion seems like something worth thinking about at the very least.

There are several bans that didn't have to become bans had the mods intervened in the Religion Forums.
What kind of intervention would you suggest there to reduce both bans and toxicity?

I was never 100% against it anyway, I just felt that in the wrong hands this ban veto power can lead to someone toxic just unbanning other toxic users over and over for the hell of it. I also felt like it needed more specification on what exactly the president can or can't do vs mods.
Besides times where you yourself were banned, what (if any) are some examples of bans that have happened in the past that you feel the mods got wrong and would have overturned if you were president at the time?

Like many others including myself you chose to vote 'no' on the MEEP deciding whether this position should exist in the first place. In what way, if any, will this effect your decisions you make as president if you are elected?

I’m spammed him like 50 times to get on but he still doesn’t
Currently looking like earth and supa are the least active. While I never specified any minimum activity requirements for the game it is an unwritten rule in DART mafia that inactivity results in replacement at the mods discretion and I believe that ought to be applicable to this game as well. I will look into it in more detail in a few hours, there is a decent chance that one or the other will be replaced if they do not make substantive posts soon and I decide their posts have not been sufficiently substantive to date. If I do decide to replace one of them it will be purely based on which I believe has demonstrated the least interest and participation in the game and not on any other factor such as my judgement of the quality of their play, their affiliation, etc.

I officially petition to replace out Supa with Ragnar or another replacement.

Votes to replace out:
RM

Votes to keep Supa:
This is not an issue that can be decided by a player vote, but I will consider the petition on its own merits.

Besides which, I'm not sure I could fairly represent all debateartists.  For example, I don't really think I could fairly represent greyparrot's interests so long as he has me blocked and falsely accuses me of bullying.

If being blocked from GP's safe space is enough to disqualify one from the presidency then we may have a hard time finding enough eligible nominees for a competitive race.

Higher-ups in the Hegemony military are still feeling the political backlash from the most recent mission. Many in the upper classes have taken the arrests as a flagrant violation of the Rights of the Nobility and due to the success of the widely-publicized jailbreak some have become emboldened enough to speak out against it. The hegemon herself has ordered a number of investigations into the matter and several high ranking military officers have already been forced into early retirement or replaced in their command positions as a direct result.

One man that stands to benefit from the chaos in part due to his condemnation of the arrests from the beginning is Colonel Reeford, a first generation baron in command of the Northeastern Militarized Zone. Reeford will be present at a conference to discuss incorporating the zone into the Hegemony as a full province, which would allow him to seek a more prestigious command elsewhere now that some positions have opened up. While provincial status would guarantee a better quality of life for the residents in the zone it would also allow the Hegemony to redeploy forces in the zone to other areas across the continent, something that many in the Alliance of New Hope believe would be devastating to their long-term plans. The next mission is to disrupt this conference, kidnap Colonel Reeford, and transport him to an Alliance safehouse for interrogation.

The first mission leader for this mission is Earth. Four players are needed for the next mission.

Player list:

1) Earth
2) IlikePie5

4) RationalMadman

The Resistance - Mission Three
The small group stood mostly in silence as the jet bound for the western continent was readied. Two of them stood apart from the rest, saying their final farewells.

“I hope you will keep in contact, my new friend. Ah… I believe I heard the others call you 'two'?”

The other smirked at the hesitation at referring to another as a number.

“Code names for everyone in our cell. We call each other by numbers from a list of our names in our safehouse. Security reasons mostly.”

The recent rescuee simply nods at this as the engines of the jet roared to life. They lean in for a final discreet word as the others board.

“Watch all your friends closely. Our group was betrayed from within. Hegemony spies are patient, and trained to play the long game.”

With these final words the former prisoners set out on their flight west.

Going to have to ask you to rubber stamp that after he officially proposes just on the off chance he proposes something you like.

On the other hand if it does come to whiteflame making proposal 5 I am just going to go forward on his without wasting time with a vote since proposal 5 is an accept-or-lose proposal for the majority team.
