Inalienable - Unable to be taken away from or given away by the possessor.
I reckon it is possible to take away a persons life, though I think in most cases it is something that should not be done.
Would you disagree that it is possible to take away someone's life? Would you disagree that in most cases such should not be done?

The relevant scientific fields in this case would be biology and to a lesser extent geology. The currently ongoing Holocene extinction is very much a direct result of changes in the environment, as were the five other mass extinctions. Certainly various human influences play a role as well - such as the unintentional introduction of invasive species due to global trade, direct destruction of habitats via deforestation or construction of population centers/agricultural land, etc. - but rapid environmental changes such as spikes in ocean acidity destroying coral reefs (a prime habitat for marine life) and increased global temperatures have much more large scale and and deadly effects any direct human influences.

the individual saves money in the process because the middleman (the insurance company) is removed from the system.
You're not removing the middle man, you're just choosing to use the government as your middleman instead.
Fauxlaw spells it out pretty clearly above. If you have difficulty understanding any of the particular points he brings up feel free to ask about it but if you continue to not fully understand the explanation that in no way detracts from its validity.

What, exactly, is our ideal climate condition, seeing as how the earth does not share a singular climate?
The ideal condition (assuming the goal is a healthy biosphere) is for things to stay relatively stable, changing as slow as possible in order to allow time for populations to adapt. Whether that means staying stable as a tropical jungle or staying stable as a frozen tundra or anything in between is not as important so long as it is some environment capable of supporting life.
Say for example an ecosystem is adapted to life in a climate with abundant water. If their water sources gradually dwindle over the course of several thousand years then as you say populations will be able to adapt their genes over the course of many generations. Now imagine that same water-dependent ecosystem with the water removed suddenly without giving any time for evolution to effect anything because the adaptations in question are not given sufficient time to take place. The negative impact on the ecosystem would be greater not because of the nature of the change but rather because of the rapidity with which it took place.

Are you sure that your facts are correct?
It is more infectious and lethal than the flu, that much seems pretty obvious. Is there some reason you think this not to be the case?

People are still calling Hillary's loss a surprise four years later? That is fucking hilarious.
That said I am not sure that Bernie can take it again this year. It is really too close to call and I wouldn't put money on him winning or losing Michigan this time around. I would however put money on him getting a lot more than "33%" of the vote.

I'm new to this, but I believe a debate can be set up with a closed-invitation to a selected member, in this case, me.
It can, and I will do so as soon as I am able to. I lead a somewhat busy life.

Why decide to liquidate? Transfer, maybe, but why liquidate to cash?
Because the market is down overall, meaning that choosing investments without putting a significant amount of time into researching the available choices is virtually guaranteed to lose money. I have much better things I could be doing with my time such as working, planning the remodeling of my new house, banging my girlfriend, grocery shopping, etc.

A legal, equitable, or moral entitlement to (also rarely †for) something.
You didn't firmly accept or reject my challenge so I will spell it out more clearly for you.
You say there is no right to healthcare.
As evidence you ask " If healthcare is a right, why haven’t we cured the common cold?"
This implies that you think "if healthcare was a right then we would have a cure for the common cold. We do not have a cure for the common cold, therefore healthcare is not a right."
We can debate this topic. The resolution would be "If healthcare was a right then we would have a cure for the common cold."
We would use the above definition for the word "right".
Do you accept or not? If so I will set the debate up.

@fauxlaw
Believe it, or not, that is how tech works.
You're literally saying that if we made healthcare a right that would result in a cure for the common cold.
Would you be willing to debate that?

Is that how technology works? If so then maybe we should make transportation a right so that we can get those flying cars I have always wanted since I was a kid.

Why are you comparing worldwide flu deaths to U.S. coronavirus deaths?
It would make more sense to compare worldwide flu deaths to worldwide coronavirus deaths.
Created:

@Greyparrot
We also don't know how many of the corona deaths would have been seasonal normal flu deaths anyway.
Irrelevant. This panic would still be completely unjustified if the flu didn't even exist. Malaria deaths have been on a significant decline over the last decade yet still malaria kills more people in half a week than coronavirus has all season.
Why no end-of-the-world panic over malaria? Because people grew up hearing about malaria. It's mundane. You can't convince someone that malaria is going to end the world when it has been going on so long already and has failed to do so. Coronavirus is a new and scary name though so it must be bad!

Is it a coincidence that Willows came back and started posting OPs just when Salixes was made to stop? Genuinely curious, not accusing. Obviously the mods have more access to information that would answer that question than I do.

Seems like you have your answer.
Coronavirus has killed almost 4000 people altogether so far. Regretable, yes, but not something that should have taken over 10% off the NASDAQ (and 3.5% out of my personal portfolio in just 2 days before I decided to liquidate and wait for sanity to return).
Meanwhile malaria kills over 1000 people each day. Why no huge malaria panic? Because news people aren't talking about malaria.

its sahara
I am not talking about the proper name of the specific desert covering much of the northern part of Africa. I am talking about the Arabic word that translates to 'desert' in English.
Now that you know this you may re-read my previous post actually knowing what I am saying.

@WaterPhoenix
learning arabic with roman lettering is way more inefficient
How so?
I don't need to know the exact scribble pattern that matches the word 'sahra' to know that if I say the word sahra it translates to 'desert'.
Why should I give a fuck about learning the scribbles if I don't plan on reading or writing in Arabic?

Why this level of concern over this particular virus.
That's easy to answer. This particular virus, you see, has been featured extensively in the news.
Logical? No.
Predictable? Yes.

I just said I don't care about being literate in Arabic. I do not foresee and likely scenario where that skill would be useful to me. Let's take a closer look at what you are saying...
Out of the following:
1) Able to speak and read
2) Able to speak but not read
3) Not able to speak or read
You would say that scenario 2 is useless?
Created:

I don't care about being literate in Arabic, just speaking it. Why do yoi think that is useless?

I don't know about the rest of the site, didn't go beyond the extra-blue sign-up page.
In seriousness I will likely have a look at it in a couple weeks when I have a decent amount of time off. The only significant populations in my area that speak other languages in addition to English are Arabs and Hispanics, though it would be pretty difficult to learn Arabic unless they use latin lettering for it. If they do then I may do that, if not then Spanish makes sense to me.

The only reason why it is provoking is the because of the audience of the Religion forum. Literally all of them apart from Salixes, Stephen and Discipulus_Didicit are Christian.
I would rather not be considered part of the religion fourm if at all possible. I drop by there now and then as a guest but if it just kinda disappeared in a puff of code I wouldn't really mind.

Other thing I guess this is also a sign of literal hypocrites. The same people against hate speech, toughen up and all that other stuff are the same people literally reporting Salixes.
This part I may or may not agree with you on, depending on whether you are saying that these people should change their stance on hate speech or you are saying that they should stop reporting Salixes (I assume the former based on context but this assumption could be innacurate). Whichever of these two stances you take your observation is indeed both accurate and relevant.

I think the decision to restrict privileges rather than going straight from a warning to an outright ban for every infraction is a good idea on the mods part and I like the precedent it sets for allowing mods flexibility in their interactions with users going forward.

Okay well my point is that the sky is blue at noon on a clear day and grass is green in the springtime in a temperate climate.

Here is the exact quote which, we should note, GP carefully fails to cite:
It is possible that this was not "careful failure to cite" and instead mere projection on GPs part, he believing that an "armed revolt" is the option that he would favor if the positions were reversed and therefore that it is reasonable to assume this to be the option anyone else who might disagree with the Supreme Court should favor.
It is also possible that he is merely prone to childlike exaggeration. Consider previous quotes of his such as "Mexicans are doing to us the same thing that Europeans did to Native Americans"
He also has an outrageously strong black-and-white mentality, to the point where he incorrectly interpreted my pointing out that there was no evidence of a Mexican plot to commit genocide against anyone as me being in favor of open immigration policies.
Actually now that I think back on that incident his insistance on holding to that interpratation even after being corrected makes me think you are probably right, he probably is intentionally twisting the truth rather than simply misunderstanding it in some way.
