By the way I never called you an asshole and I never insulted you in any way.
I said you were speaking out of your ass. In America (where I am from) and several other countries the phrase "speaking out of ones ass" is equivalent to saying that someone is "making it up as they go along."
If you are not from somewhere where this is a common saying then I understand the confusion and hope that clears things up.

Quit dodging the question please. Tell me who 'they' refers to. Secret organization of some kind? Non-secret organization of some kind? A specific person? You are being incredibly vague right now.

This is all leading to a social credit system like they have in china. Lets say the goverment thinks you are stupid man child for liking frozen. So they decide you should not be allowed to by airplane tickets.
What do you mean by 'this'? Juggle and DDO?
Are you saying there is some person or group secretly trying to create a social credit system?
Your post is too vague. You need to be more specific about your claim so that I can properly word the debate challenge I plan on sending you without accidentally strawmanning your position.

No, but it doesn't hurt.

It's only common sense God doesn't exist. FULL STOP.
That doesn't mean it is invalid to say that god is an old pervert. Batman and the Joker are fictional characters yet it is still valid to say "Batman is the Jokers rival."

Given that I only refer to men and not gods.
Ah, so you meant that the only men that enjoy abusing children are old perverts, not that the only entities that enjoy abusing children are old perverts? Okay, I can see that. That clears things up.

When a woman pushes-Out the baby/fetus it is resultant of pulling-In contractions of the muscles. Dark Energy and all other pushing-Out phenomena is a resultant of pulling-In phenomena. This is the path of least resistance.Dark Energy )( expanding Space is Universe relaxing just as a muscle expands when is relaxed. At least that is one option.
You're talking out of your ass. Modern science has no idea how or why dark energy works or what it is.
Your idea that dark energy will eventually 'tire out' or be 'overpowered' by gravity in the long term is completely unfounded.

Like this?
Yeah probably. Honestly too long ago to remember for sure. Seems right though.
I think it was the same show (possibly the same episode even) that said the universe was basically finite in size but infinite in the sense that it was not possible to go outside it because of the way it curved/was shaped. The analogy I rember was those early 'asteroid' video games where any object going off the edge of the screen simply re-entered on another point of the edge.

A pervert then, but is he old? How do you define old? Do you mean being alive more than a certain number of years or is it relative? A ten year old pet goldfish is said to be old but not a ten year old human. This is because their ages can be compared to other specimens of their species but what about unique instances such as monotheistic dieties where such comparison is impossible?

Why is the ban log in the misc forum instead of the DART forum? Until about a week or two ago I assumed that bsh just completely ignored the MEEP result and decided not to make a log at all (he was very publically against the idea) until one day I accidentally pressed the misc forum when I meant to go to music and I happened to notice the ban log there.
Edit: Let's turn this thread into a petition to MEEP the issue of where the ban log should be.

@PressF4Respect
The mods have decided that for people that will be re-entering the community after a set period it should be up to them whether they wish for their infraction to be public. This avoids accusations of public shaming, something that is not relevant in the case of perma bans where users are not expected to re-enter the community.
Not saying I agree or disagree with this policy, just stating the rationale behind it as I understand it.
Created:

Nah, I don't think the bans are "going too far".

wouldn't you hope ..
Well sure, lots of people hope lots of things. I don't see how that is relevant to what is actually the case though. OT shot-caller Yahweh obviously did order the cutting of foreskins whether we like it or not.
Actually now I see that my question was nonsensical. You see, it came about as a result of misreading post 53. I thought you said "only old men and perverts" when in fact you said "only old perverts"... So I was asking which category big daddy from the OT fell under, the old men category or the pervert category. Hope that clears things up.
Although now the question becomes "is OT God an old pervert?"

Imagine a conversation from ancient times...
Alex: Huh, ever notice how wood floats?Beth: Yep. Sure did notice that.Alex: You ever wonder why it floats though?Beth: God done do it.Alex: Yeah I guess you are right. Why did he make it like that though?Beth: Oh, uhh... I don't know. Wait, I got it! He made it like that so we could build structures from wood to help us cross water!*Wooden ships invented*
Many years later...
Charlie: These wooden ships are nice and all but I would like something a bit harder like rock or metal. That would be nice.Daisy: Yeah but rocks and metal don't float, stupid. God done only made wood float.Charlie: yeah you are right.
Meanwhile on the other side of the world...
Edward: These wooden ships are nice and all but I would like something a bit harder like rock or metal. That would be nice.Fred: Yeah but rocks and metal don't float, stupid. God done only made wood float.Edward: I'm not convinced. There has to be more to it than that. I'm going to look into this further.Fred: You are just wasting your time. The answer is god done do it. Quit yer yammering and help me build this ship.Edward: Well I have some experiments here showing that the reason wood floats is because it is less dense. I knew there was more to it!Fred: God done did it less dense so it could float so we could make ships. No need to look further.Edward: I wonder why less dense things float though. What causes that to happen?Fred: God done causes it to happen so that we can make ships. Stop questioning things.Edward: But I have some new experiments that show that the reason less dense objects float is because the water pressure exerted on an object is affected by volume and the gravitational forces exerted on an object is affected by mass. Therefore due to the relationship between mass, volume, and density the water pressure exerted on less dense objects overcomes the gravitational forces. That is what causes wood to float! What a remarkable discovery!*Buoyancy discovered*Fred: I don't understand all yer fancy talk but really it ain't all that impressive. God done planned this buoyancy thing from the get-go so that wood could float so that we could make wooden ships. What a waste of time. How does knowing about this buoyancy thing help us?Edward: That does make sense. Maybe I should just give up.Fred: Of course it makes sense. God wants wooden ships. How he makes the wood float don't matter none.Edward: Wait, I just had a thought! If we were to make a ship from steel that had enough empty space inside it to reduce the effective density to less than that of water then we could have a ship made of steel! This is going to change everything!Fred: Uhh steel don't float, dummy. Steel sinks. Remember that steel nail I dropped in the water and hour ago? It sunk. Don't matter why it sunk, God just done made it so that steel sinks.Edward: But it all makes sense now. The reason things float is because of their density, the reason less dense things float is because of buoyancy, we can make buoyancy work to make a steel ship float!*Steel ships invented*Fred: I don't understand any of that jibber jabber but I tell you what, if you can make a steel ship float it's because god gone did whatever density-buoyancy hocus-pocus just for us so that we can make steel ships. You should just leave it at that. All yer investigatin' and experimentin' and what has it gotten us? Nothin'.
Edward was able to invent something new because when he had a question for which he did not know the answer he said "I don't know, let's find out." as opposed to Alex, Beth, Charlie, Daisy, and Fred who all responded to unknowns by saying "God". Even when there was no obvious immediate practical application to the investigation continuing on led to positive practical results.

Dear lord... 2.33 is an approximate of the figure you just linked (2.329) which in turn is probably an approximate of the actual figure. I made this clear when I used the word 'about' in my post.
If someone said something was 5.99878908789878986655776678 miles away would you use that figure every time or would you say "it is about 6 miles away" so that your message could be more easily read? This is just how humans talk.
But if you want to be like that then fine, tell me... Is 2.329 more than 2.57 or less than 2.57? Less? So solid silicon floats on liquid silicon? Okay good.
Seriously how old are you?

The sun does the same thing as over 99.99% of stars. It is not special. They all orbit the center of mass of their galaxy. (modified slightly by dark matter hocus-pocus clearly beyond your level of understanding as I said before).

Silicon, density as a solid: about 2.33g/ml. Density as a liquid: about 2.57 g/ml

Hydrogen fluoride is more dense as a gas than as a liquid.

is there another substance with the same property
There might be, or maybe I am just bluffing. I am waiting on you to put your money where your mouth is before I reveal.
Tell me here and now, if there are other substances with this same property will you stop claiming that water was specially designed by God just for life to exist? Answer this question with a simple yes or no. If you say yes and I am unable to name such a substance within 5 minutes then I will change my profile religion settings to anything you want me to change it to. Permanently.
This offer expires 10 minutes after I make this post.

Yes i know that the reason why the sun is stationed in one orbit. But why is it the only one that does not orbit anything.
The sun is not the only star that does not orbit a specific object. All the other millions of millions of stars in the galaxy share this property as I already said
You know the sun is a star right?

Same with why ice is the only solid that is lighter then its liquid form. God foresaw it would be a problem and made an exception.
Water is not the only substance whose solid state is less dense than it's liquid state. Many substances share this property.

OK why do not suns orbit in an elliptical. It is a star to.
I already answered this question. It is because stars do not orbit an object, they orbit the center of mass of the galaxy. The center of mass of the galaxy is constantly shifting relative to the galaxy itself because the stars in the galaxy are constantly moving. If the stars such as our sun were orbiting a stationary object then their orbits would be nearly-elliptical just like the planets orbits are nearly-elliptical because they orbit an object (the sun). Dark matter factors in as well but I don't feel comfortable trying to explain dark matter to you until after I am convinced that you have a basic grasp of orbital mechanics.
You are aware that orbits are caused by gravity and that gravity is caused by mass right?
I am going to ask the same question I asked before. Why do you think it should be strange that objects behave consistently with observed laws of physics?
Created:
Posted in:
there is a star as big as Saturn.
That is incredibly small for a star.
How old are you anyway? Based on your knowledge of astronomy you seem very young but since you seem like a nice enough person I will happily continue to answer your questions if you have more.
Created:

@crossed
alright you got me there but given the definition would it not be exactly in the middle.
No it is slightly off from the middle because the planets orbit in a near-elliptical pattern rather than circles and the sun is not in the exact center of that elliptical. This is basic orbital mechanics.
Why is only the planets that go in an elliptical. Why not stars
Stars other than our sun are not a part of the solar system. Stars orbit around the center of mass of the galaxy in a pattern that is neither an elliptical nor a circle. Because they orbit the center of mass of the galaxy rather than orbiting a single object their orbits are less regular and harder to predict.
All objects orbit in the way that is consistent with what would be predicted by our understanding of gravity. Why do you think it is strange for all objects to orbit in a way that our understanding of gravity predicts they would behave? Would it not be completely normal for them to behave as predicted and strange for them to behave in some way other than what our understanding predicts?

What are the chances that the sun just happens to be in the center of the solar system?
Based on what the phrase 'solar system' means in our language the chances of the sun randomly happening to be at the center of the solar system is 100%.
Edit: Yes I am aware that the sun is not actually at the exact center of the solar system in real life but it is close enough.

@oromagi
oro which is Spanish for gold but really a simplification from the Latin "aurum" which is was gold but also the root of "aura" - shining, glowing, halo'd in the hallowed, holy sense.magi which is latin for wizard from an ancient Greek theft of the word for followers, believers of Zoroaster (Zarathustra) who was the incredibly elusive and ancient prophet, founder, wizard of Zoroastrianism which influenced belief systems throughout the ancient world (the 3 magi who foretell and glorify Jesus, for example) but also references the Nietzchean character and eternal recurrance but also the sunrise of Strauss as famously opens 2001: A Space Odyssey.
That's actually pretty cool. Never expected your name to be so thought out.
