AI's thoughts on "ethics"
Utility is a genuine need that stands on equal footing with ethics. Both guide society, but utility emphasizes practical benefits, ensuring that solutions address tangible needs. Ethics, while crucial, can sometimes be co-opted to serve ideological agendas, fostering inequality or corruption under the guise of moral superiority. This can limit innovation and favor those in power. Utility-driven approaches, by focusing on outcomes and practical benefits, can help create a more equitable and efficient society, ensuring that resources are directed toward solving real-world problems rather than maintaining appearances to serve the powerful elite class.

The act of protesting their deportation cannot conflict with the country's duty to deport them. This is why free speech is meaningless for illegal invaders. It can never supersede the duty of the government to protect American citizens, otherwise there is no point to having a government in the first place.

Or you could have a retarded take like MSNBC and say that "some" takeover of apartments by Venezuelan gangs is acceptable to preserve rights for illegals.... that will surely restore confidence in the government.

So Trump allegedly says illegal migrants shouldn't have a right to protest about Palestine (or pretty much anything)

It's an interesting question. Does the first amendment apply to the entire world, or just American citizens in the jurisdiction of America?

Wrong. Jurisdiction depends on actual borders. No jurisdiction means anarchy. Other nations with borders will define the borders of their colony if America refuses to.

@RemyBrown
I'm not voting.

Something you might have noticed: I don’t complain about politicians. Poke fun, sure. Everybody complains about politicians, but where do people think they come from? They don’t fall out of the sky. They come from American homes, families, schools, churches, businesses, universities, and are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do, folks. Our system produces garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you’re going to get selfish, ignorant leaders. Term limits won't help; you’ll just end up with a new batch of selfish, ignorant Americans.

Maybe it's not the politicians who suck—maybe it’s the public. Yeah, the public sucks. That’s a nice campaign slogan for someone: "The public sucks." Forget hope, because if it’s just the politicians' fault, where are all the other bright, honest, intelligent Americans to step in and save the nation? We don’t have people like that; everyone’s at the mall, scratching their butts and buying sneakers with lights in them.

I’ve solved this political dilemma for myself: I don’t vote. Screw them. Two reasons: First, it’s meaningless. This country was bought and sold a long time ago. The people they shuffle around every four years don't mean anything. Second, if you vote, you have no right to complain. If you vote and elect dishonest, incompetent people who screw everything up, you caused the problem. You have no right to complain.

I, on the other hand, who didn’t vote, have every right to complain as loudly as I want about the mess you created. So, later this year, when you have another one of those swell presidential elections, you’ll enjoy yourselves. But when it’s over, I’ll be doing the same thing as you, except I’ll have something to show for it after I’m done.

Thank you very much.

You could make a case that modern society relies less on natural selection for intelligence than in the Middle Ages due to technological advancements. In earlier times, survival often depended on practical intelligence—problem-solving skills in agriculture, warfare, and navigation, which were crucial for survival success and reproduction. Today, machines and systems do much of the complex thinking for us, such as performing calculations, organizing information, and optimizing processes. This naturally reduces the direct selection pressure on individuals for those traits, diluting the emphasis on practical intelligence in reproduction as a critical survival trait.

IQ scores have probably risen over the past century, due to a phenomenon known as the Flynn effect. The Flynn effect says IQ increased due to improved education, nutrition, and access to information, rather than an inherent biological increase in intelligence.

The 50,000 tax deduction was clearly designed by a political hack that never actually started a small business.

The number one concern of startup businesses is CASH FLOW and capital, NOT tax expenditures. The only time tax expenditures become a concern is when there are very strong profits for the small business, and by that time, the government assistance isn't really needed to keep the business going.

Most startup businesses run deficits for the first 5 years as they build the investment. If the $50,000 was an actual loan instead of a tax-deduction, it would provide actual assistance to startups during the first 5 years when they really need it, not years later when they are already profitable. Regardless, it's not anything that would pass from either party in Congress.  Neither would the 6k child tax credit. It would have been done in 2020 already when they clearly were against the ropes with inflation and Kamala had the tie breaking vote on everything.

The claim that "experts" approved this plan just shows Kamala's "experts" have zero clue about managing small businesses. Kamala's stories about "living with a business owner" clearly shows why she approved the plan.

My point was that he dodged the policies he’s losing in, and he turned them all into immigration which is his strong point. He dodged questions about his other policies by scapegoating immigrants.

And my point is that before we had biased media, it was common practice to only ask questions like "how would you solve "X" problem"

Here's the list of questions:
Economy and cost of living: Are Americans better off than they were four years ago?
Not a question about solving a problem. Feelings and vibes.
Should be: what would you do to improve the economy?

Tariffs: Do you believe Americans can afford higher prices because of tariffs?
Not a question about solving a problem. Feelings and vibes.
Should be:  Would you impose tariffs to improve the economy?

Abortion: Why should women trust you on the issue of abortion given your changing positions?
Not a question about solving a problem. Feelings and vibes.
Should be: Do you have a policy you want the Congress to enact regarding Abortion?

Immigration: Why did the administration wait to act on border security?
Not a question about solving a problem. Feelings and vibes.
Should be: How will you fix the border?

January 6th: Is there anything you regret about your actions on January 6th?
Not a question about solving a problem. Feelings and vibes.
Should be: What policies will you pursue to address political violence in America?

Election claims: Are you now acknowledging that you lost the 2020 election?
Not a question about solving a problem. Feelings and vibes.
Should be: How will you restore confidence and election integrity? What policies?

Ukraine: Do you want Ukraine to win this war?
Not a question about solving a problem. Feelings and vibes.
Should be: What policies will you pursue to make sure we can help end the war on favorable terms for America?

Climate change: What would you do to fight climate change?
1st actual question about solving "x"

Affordable Care Act: Do you have a plan to replace or improve Obamacare?
2nd actual question about solving "x"

Race and politics: Why do you believe it is appropriate to comment on the racial identity of your opponent?
Not a question about solving a problem. Feelings and vibes.
Should be: What policies will you implement to discourage race baiting in political discourse?

Foreign policy: How would you negotiate with Netanyahu and Hamas regarding the Israel-Hamas war?
3rd actual question about solving "x"

Afghanistan withdrawal: Do you bear any responsibility for how the withdrawal from Afghanistan played out?
Not a question about solving a problem. Feelings and vibes.
Should be: What is your plan to make sure we do not repeat the mistakes of Afghanistan?

Most of these questions were garbage regarding defining actual policy, so it's no wonder most people came away not know what the hell Kamala stood for.

Debates used to be WAY more informative in defining the direction of a leader. For example, we knew EXACTLY what we were getting with Obama and Bush. Since 2016, we really don't have a clue because real questions are rarely ever asked about policy.

Kamala's team knows she won the debate but it didn't matter because people still didn't know what her policies were.

You have to pay attention to how they interact with smart voters, that's what you should base opinions on.
Can you make a list of 10 Trump policies and 10 Kamala policies using ONLY the debate? I will try as well.

If politicians want to win office, they have to appeal to dumb voters
The problem is that undecided voters are not the dumb voters. They actually want to hear policies.

I don't think there was a single question that Trump didn't somehow find a way to turn into immigration
Right, Trump was debating the moderators who would never ask for Trump's policies, they would only ask him silly questions about feelings and vibes. That's why Trump answered everything with a policy because he knew they would never bring it up.

That's her weakness. When her allies ask her to define her policies so people can vote FOR her...she word salads instead. And I think it's habitual for her since she has never had to fight to win any election before now. When near every answer is a word salad about the middle class and silly anecdotes, there's no room to explain the serious policies.

At a June 2024 rally in Las Vegas, Donald Trump did say, "I don't care about you, I just want your vote," but the comment was made in a sarcastic, joking context. Trump made the remark while referencing the extreme heat and urging rally attendees to stay safe, which led to laughter from the audience. Trump even anticipated that the media would take the comment out of context, which is exactly what happened, leading to some misunderstanding

If you're cherry-picking stories to fuel your hatred for Trump, you're not doing yourself any favors. Instead of seeking truth or engaging with facts, you're just confirming your own bias and distorting reality to fit a narrative. This makes you no better than the very media or figures you claim to criticize. If you're going to have a valid stance, base it on the full context, not selective outrage. Otherwise, you’re just trading critical thinking for emotional gratification. Be better than that.

 1) you would need to prove that the small amount spent on this program is more than the billions in tax revenue taken in.
Already debunked. No chance in hell millions of illegal migrants under the poverty line pay a dime in federal tax. Much less a billion collectively.
According to data from the Pew Research Center and the Migration Policy Institute, around 25% to 30% of undocumented immigrants fall below the poverty line.
They would also need a tax-ID number, which most corporate employers refuse to give in order to keep them off the books since they already paid billions through lobbies for both parties of the the government to look the other way.

It’s unlikely these workers collectively pay "billions" in federal taxes by the fact that many undocumented workers are usually paid in cash under the table or through other informal means. Even though some do pay taxes using Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs), the scale of tax revenue from undocumented workers is often overstated on purpose by the very lobbies paying the government off.

biden continued trump's border policies.

Debunked. Biden removed nearly every policy, most notably the remain in Mexico and funding the wall through FEMA.

Sources:
  1. "Remain in Mexico" (Migrant Protection Protocols): One of Trump's signature immigration policies, "Remain in Mexico", forced asylum seekers to stay in Mexico while awaiting their U.S. immigration court hearings. Biden suspended this policy in 2021 and attempted to terminate it entirely. However, after legal challenges, the administration was temporarily forced to reinstate it. By 2022, the policy was officially ended
    .
  2. Border Wall Funding: Trump’s administration aggressively pushed for wall construction, diverting funds from other areas, including FEMA. Biden halted construction immediately upon taking office, stopping funding and redirecting military and emergency resources elsewhere. While some construction continued due to pre-approved contracts, Biden reversed the broader push for new wall segments
    .
  3. Title 42: Biden continued to use Title 42, a public health law allowing for the rapid expulsion of migrants during the COVID-19 pandemic. While this might seem like a continuation of Trump-era policy, it was largely due to pandemic-related circumstances and not Biden’s overarching immigration stance. In 2023, the Biden administration worked to wind down Title 42 as pandemic restrictions eased.
  • FEMA's Role: Under Biden, FEMA funds were diverted to manage the surge of migrants in a humanitarian capacity, rather than to build more wall infrastructure, as Trump had done. Biden reallocated these resources toward providing shelters, medical care, and processing centers for migrants
    .
  • ICE Enforcement: Biden significantly softened ICE’s immigration enforcement priorities, focusing on individuals with serious criminal records, reversing Trump’s broader deportation measures that targeted nearly all undocumented individuals
    .
Relying on corporate media outlets, which are frequently funded by the same corporations that exploit illegal labor for sub-minimum wages, distorts the narrative entirely. These outlets have a vested interest in maintaining access to a cheap, exploitable labor force, which directly benefits their bottom line. By framing illegal immigration as an "economic boon," you willfully ignore the financial strain on local services, housing markets, and wage suppression for American workers, all while lining the propagandist's golden pockets. Think critically about whose interests are truly being served by the propaganda you're consuming.

I honestly believe republicans are fully delusional. They believe the government causes all problems while democrats are in power, then they ignore those exact same problems while republicans are in power. It's especially galling when the republicans cause problems, then blame the democrats for them as they fix the problems.
What's even more galling is giving the same exact person who caused the present day migrant crisis another 4 years to fuck it up even more.

Americans feel real frustration over the ongoing migrant crisis, especially when bad policies that contributed to the issue remain in place. The current administration's border policies, such as the rollback of Trump-era immigration policies like Title 42, have definitively exacerbated the situation. The surge in migrants in recent years, particularly after these changes, has overwhelmed border facilities and local communities(U.S. Department of Homeland Security). Despite increased spending on migrant assistance through programs like FEMA's $380 million SSP program, the underlying (root) issues remain unaddressed, contributing to further strain on resources(U.S. Department of Homeland Security)(U.S. Department of Homeland Security).

The concern of giving the same leaders another four years to "fix" problems they directly played a role in creating is shared by many critics. Instead of focusing on durable solutions, like reforming immigration laws, re-implementing remain in Mexico policies, tightening amnesty rules to discourage economic migrants, or securing the border effectively, the current trajectory seems to recycle ineffective approaches that play well in focus-groups. With election cycles often hinging on these very issues, it's frustrating to see little improvement despite the immense public and financial cost.

Real change will require stronger enforcement policies and practical reform, not just fancy promises and increased spending on temporary relief programs, which ultimately serve as band-aid solutions at best and incentives for America's destruction at worst. The reality is that without meaningful policy adjustments, the same problems will persist, regardless of who's in office.
