Are we still at mislynch and lose? We killed a scum, and they got no night kill.

Another thought: Crab God sounds like negative utility. Why would scum want to steal it? I assumed they had to because they wanted some power, although now I wonder if the whole thing really was a ruse.

Savant would be open by that logic as well. Why not shoot him? Especially if they covered me with a role block.

What are your team theories?

Y’know, if the scum team was interested in screwing over Lunatic this DP, they would’ve gotten a kill through. Lunatic said he targeted Pie last DP, were they betting on him targeting anyone but Pie last NP? Otherwise, they had the option of me, Savant, and potentially Austin or Greyparrot.

How do you figure that? If Lunatic stole negative utility from GP, I could have resulted in the roleblock in Barney.

Which actually means Austin isn’t implicated by the theme and someone is lying about their character.

Barney is implicated by theme and Lunatic probably is too, however. I think your frozen Jesus theory is interesting. 

I do think that would point to Whiteflame sooner than it would to GP, if one of the two is lying about character.

And yet, the safer option is still between Barney and Lunatic. I think that it’s gonna be Barney for me.

I wasn’t manipulated and I’m down to lynch Austin unless he confesses. My vote is staying.

Yeah I was going into today thinking it was just Barney/WF/Luna which kinda makes sense as a scum team mostly ignoring each other with some light distancing, but the Barney/Luna result gives me some pause, I can think of ways to explain it but I'm just weighing whether it's more likely that the result was messed with or unclear, or that I'm misclearing someone in my towncore, or that there's a 3P (but in that case, idk why my role would have activated DP3, since with only 3 scum in 9 people it still shouldn't be MYLO/LYLO, unless the 3P somehow wins with scum? e.g. a survivor role or smth).

The most important thing here is for people to be collectively found as town - if we just deny scum mislynches this way, then they're going to be boxed in and have to cannibalize themselves. I think I've done my part here with my solving and my past actions - I've been kind of slacking this game due to irl, but I think that I can and should be found as town here especially with how I acted DP2 which is just far out of my scum meta.

First note is that no NK, only role that would explain that (other than maybe some crab god shenanigans, which I find unlikely - assuming it's real, scum has it, so idk why it would block their own NK) is either Luna being apportioner, or scum waiving an NK to try and confirm Luna.

Idk, seems risky to forfeit an entire NK to try and confirm one member, but the POE is tight and I could see a play like that happening. 

The mechanically correct play here is to look for a scum lynch today - even if Luna is scum, that still makes two - and then see if Pie dies tonight, along with another townie.

If Pie dies and another NK dies, then Luna is mechanically confirmed.

If only Pie dies, then there are two options. Either Luna is scum and we lynch him, or he's being town framed by scum forfeiting a kill. Regardless, even in the latter possibility, that basically forces scum to lose an NK and have to deal with a tighter POE.

I think this should work? Generally I'm decent with mechanics and we had a similar plan with me being the roleblocker last game, and this feels similar in terms of it only being able to go right.

The only reason why I’m even including Austin here is because legendary =/= town confirmation.

60% chance? You can do yourself one better by saying Greyparrot is clear. He was targeted by a bioengineer who hasn’t fessed up. It’s probably a scummy role. Meaning Greyparrot was targeted by scum.

I have a feeling he liked crabs, but I have no clue about bioengineer as he gave me nothing but the role.

Luna jumping on JoeBob seemed kind of opportunistic.

WF seemed to be on JB faster, but WF is townie every game so it's not always easy to tell.

You and Mharman and have been somewhat confirmed already, no? That means 3 out of GP/Luna/Austin/Barney/WF are scum. I'm most inclined to town read WF and scum read Luna, but Luna might have saved you last night, so I'm not sure.

In addendum, I have a question for everyone. What would you have predicted scum’s night actions would be, heading into NP3?
