Philosophy and science would certainly be a good start since conversations in those forums dont eventually devolve into a shit-slinging contest between the same bunch of people with ironclad beliefs that wont listen to anyone with an opinion different than theirs..... If they prefer to set up shop in the religion forum then they're probably more prone to yelling their opinion to the other side rather than actually keeping an open mind about something, meaning they basically quarantine themselvesSo what other forums should the religious forum people go to? I mean, I see them in philosophy, politics and science.... you know, the forums that take some thought
There are interesting threads in the religion forum here and there... I will admit it takes some time to find one

I try to avoid conversations with people who don't actually read what is typed and only respond to what they wish had been typed, but feel free to point out where I said that the statement of her friend is 'damning evidence' as you say......... I was merely pointing out that your claim that her friend 'downright refutes' Christine Ford's account doesn't necessarily add up to that conclusion, since the friend in question doesn't even remember anything about the party and therefore cannot substantiate one side any more than the other side.

I've mis-clicked the religion forum on the forums tab while aiming for the politics forum listed just above it enough times to wind up in the forum and get a good look at the general stupidity of those who post in it.... Before that when I did the Weekly Stupid I routinely would go into the Religion forum to see what kind of stupid stuff people were spouting for possible material, often times finding more then I could put onto a single episode.Since you don't go there, you couldn't possibly know or care
So I am well aware of what kind of retardation goes down in the religion forum to know that people who spend a majority of their time posting in the forum have nothing to offer in other conversations. Sorry that you fall under that category, boy.

If you want to be convincing, find 60 people who know Christine Ford and remember her as a compulsive liar, because multiple witnesses willing to testify that an accuser is of questionable honesty is worth far more than 60 random people willing to say they remember a defendant as not an asshat.
3. Evidence by eyewitnesses prove that he did not do anything
Only thing eyewitness accounts have done is fail to corroborate either side of the story, not outright disprove anything. For a party that happened nearly 40 years ago where most people would be just relaxing and minding their own business rather then keeping tabs on everyone else at a party, especially at a prep school in the 80's, its not surprising that nobody has been able to outright prove/disprove either side of the story.
4. Dems don't like Kavanaugh in the first place
Turns out there was good reason to considering the recent and growing allegations.... The problem is that Pelosi and Schumer were dumb enough to dislike him for no reason right from the outset, rather than give his nomination a fair shot and see if there was any red-flags or potential problems to his candidacy like they should have, and now their understandable reasons for opposing his nomination are cloaked under a stink of partisanship agenda goals.

The Dems were fucking stupid to come out of the gate saying they will do anything within their power to oppose the nomination, so now it looks like theyre using the whole scenario as a political ploy for their own development.... That being said though, Kavanaugh is far from demonstrably innocent.
A ton of his old classmates have come out of the woodwork to claim that Kavanaugh was indeed a notorious drunk, his overall demeanor during his testimony indicates he is more angry at being found out than he is regretful at what probably happened, and his accuser provided pretty straightforward testimony in a way that even Fox News pundits were calling her credible and her testimony 'disastrous to the Republicans'....

The only committee that should be involved in managing a Hall of Fame should be one to decide if there should be a ceremony to begin with.... Have the committee (of 3 people tops) PM each other once every 6 months to a year, and let them decide amongst themselves if more people deserve to get in or if we should take the half-year/full year off.Do you think that, once an HOF is eventually started up, that nominations should be made by some sort of committee, to ensure a higher "quality" of nominees?
If they decide there are people who deserve recognition, let any one of them handle how it would be done. If they decide there isn't a clear need for a ceremony, pack up and wait 6 more months/another year.

The one thing that truly bugged me about how the DDO HoF was handled was that towards the end it took place on a regular cycle for inducting members, rather than only take place when there was clearly someone who deserved to be inducted. There were basically two types of users who were inducted, with one half having a far larger impact on the site than the other.
Initially the HoF was meant to enshrine those who had a fundamental impact on the site that contributed to it in major ways or altered how things were done on it. Innomen and Airmax were mods for the site who put their own brand of moderation and policy enforcement on the site, Ore_Ele came up with the ELO system eventually adopted by the site, and some users like Izbo were so toxic that they spurred changes in how moderation was conducted (Izbo was almost single-handedly responsible for the implementation of the trial system due to how unrelentingly retarded he was).... These guys fundamentally altered how the site was modded or triggered some sort of significant change on the site, and absolutely deserved to be in the Hall of Fame for it.
However, most inductees eventually were just people who participated on the site for a very long period of time that eventually became known through the entire community just from interacting with them.... Freedo was the site's first/oldest friendly troll, Askbob led the first exodus of users from the site along with being incredibly hostile during the wild wild west times on DDO, I got in mostly because of The Weekly Stupid, fanfictions, largest number of won debates, and misc moments of trolling (The two movies I made came well after I was inducted so they don't really count).
My point is: The main change I'd like to see to the Hall of Fame would be that it be limited to people who truly deserve to be in it, people who fundamentally changed how the site is organized or administered. DART has only been in existence for a handful of months now, with no individual member standing out simply because just about everyone hasn't done anything truly memorable yet. Rather than implement the HoF after a certain period of time and then update it on a regular basis for the sake of keeping it alive, it should only be established when someone truly deserves remembrance, and frankly we don't have anybody on this site who has achieved that status except for the creator themself.

Im okay with linking to the previous HoF on DDO, though maybe it would be safer to just list the names of people in the DDO HoF and leave it at that, since it's no guarantee that DDO's forums will even be functioning properly in the future based on how the site is going.
As for new entrants. We should definitely wait at least a year before starting it up again. Lets give the site some time to breathe and the user base to grow a little more before we commission popularity contests

The site is brand new and we still have a pretty narrow user base that is mostly transplanted from DDO, it would only negatively effect how much of a quality accomplishment it would be for a user to get into the HoF if we rushed into it too early

Jones got his accounts suspended for abusive behavior, which basically every online platform has policies against and basically every state and country has laws regulating against, often under the 'cyberbullying' flag..... On top of just being abusive though, Alex Jones has repeatedly fostered false conspiracy theories that bring real harm to people targeted by them, and is clearly a snake-oil salesmen who is trying to con his own listeners to finance his own wealthy lifestyle at the expense of completely distorting basic facts and tragic disasters.....

I don't think Juggle is even CAPABLE of fixing the bugs on the site at this point, as evident by how they managed to ban the lone mod on the site when trying to end the recent spam attacks. Should they be capable, whether or not they would actually exert the effort to try to fix the site is another question entirely.

He goes over the main points of the debate questioning whether or not literacy tests go against American values and whether or not literacy tests are illegal, which were basically 100% of your arguments by the time we hit round 3.... By pointing to Supreme Court cases indicating that literacy tests can be upheld as constitutional, the debate at that point just became a pseudo-argument about what is or isn't considered morally American, where I just borrowed a page from Bluesteel's book to argue that it at least isnt anti-American.

I think I've lost count at how many second chances people have given DDO at this point only for DDO to find some new way to fall even deeper into a hole. You have a better chance at turning a spambot into a legitimate member of DDO than you do of seeing DDO return to its former glory at this point, even if you did scrub all the utter imbeciles from the politics and religion forums

Im considering getting a switch just because Smash Ultimate looks to be the crown jewel on a solid lineup for the new console (Breath of the Wild, Mario kart 8, Splatoon 2, 2 Pokemon games, misc ports to the console) I would love being able to re-enact childhood memories of swallowing my brothers character with Kirby, suicide jumping off the edge, and causing him to rage-throw his controller.

DDO became a casualty of its own weight. It was simple at first where you had debates, forums, and thats it..... Then the opinions section was added, which brought in more user traffic, but only the kind that liked to spout their own opinion then walk off, rather then actually discuss anything.... Then the polls section was added, bringing in more of the same type of traffic that overall wasn't very beneficial to the site...... Now both the opinions section and the polls section are wastelands, so it all was a wasted effort.
That effort could have been used to fix the forfeit glitch in debates. Debate participation was already down because older members lost the debating bug, while others were dissuaded from debating due to concerns over not getting enough votes. Then when the forfeit bug kicked in, where now even forfeited debates would not result in a win because it wouldn't result in ever ending, it killed off any ability to debate, or for people to follow good debates.
Spamming in the forums wasn't much of an issue. It was there, it would be deleted, or just relegated to forums nobody used anyways. It usually was just one spam account, posting two or three times, before falling silent. Then it became multiple spambots positing multiple spam threads. This went on for YEARS before the mega spam attacks from last month came, inundating the site. When it looks like the worst is over, it will only come back again after a few days, as we've seen at this point.
DDO is gone. It had its time in the sun, but due to bad prioritization and mismanagement, it has dwindled to the sad state it is today. Why anybody would stay there and not transition to over here is beyond me.
