You simultaneously stated that you are 13 and that you are an adult. Please drop this behavior regardless of age. We value truth, or at least interpretations that could be interpreted as true. This is not one of them.

@Vici
  • How you see the user (the impression you get of them, are they cool, annoying stoic.  Are they intimidating?).
  • How good they are at debating
  • How they can improve.
  • Would you personally believe you would beat them in a debate
    • If so, propose a topic which you will likely debate.
  • I see Vici as a relatively friendly user, albeit extraordinarily arrogant when it comes to this site. Vici is willing to take everything as a joke, no matter when he is supposed to or not, which is a good sign of a user(unlike some who outright bashes me for not getting the joke).
  • Vici can indeed write good arguments like shown here(albeit bland for DART standards, that is what happens with inexperience). The biggest problem is with forfeitures. Vici forfeits after instigating a debate, which is not the strategy to go, effectively placing him worse statistically compared to who he actually is. Though, I am sure that Vici debates for fun and doesn't nearly care about the rating as some of us do.
  • First, drop your arrogance. Don't think you are better than you are or your opponents worse than they are, they are what leads to you losing. Second, just gain general experience. Play around with other styles until you get the hang of it.
  • Like I said, it is near impossible to measure Vici's actual skills due to he has only written 2 arguments that I know, one of them heavily bounded by the structure(500c, 1r), the other one a 50% forfeit. I assuredly could beat anyone if they forfeit, but please don't.
    • It is dynamic. I pick topics from the tab and research them on the spot. I haven't got one but I will be sure to look into every open challenge. Good luck!

You said that you are post doctoral from your profile. I don't think 13 year old kids are post doctoral. The youngest post doctoral was 13 and he probably would have died by now(and definitely not 13).

In fact, while not being a redpill, I imagine followers of this ideology to be pretty pessimistic because they combine "this is real" with "this is failure" resulting in grudge. Definitely not the way to live, at least for me.

"red-pill" realism, whether conservative or not, I don't think is a good idea. We need more idealism.

Like, yes, society is like this, what do we do? The pros and cons of realism is that is objective, it is like a rock without force vectors exerted on it, which is better in some cases and worse in others.

But in many cases society needs to progress. We shouldn't have to conform to social rules and live like that the rest of our life. We can change almost everything socially about life whether taking up how much effort or space or time. Even if we can't, at least thinking that we can makes us feel better.

And finally, what about putting the means of production back to the workers themselves globally? That wasn't already accomplished but that would be really neat.

What do you find unattractive about todays beauty standards?
This thread has become less "Today's beauty standards" and more "different senses of beauty". Obviously we are not meant to adjust to the beauty standards of all different cultures, each one different from any other.

I would actually argue that nose rings, tattoos, etc. are not "the" beauty standard today due to how little representation they have in society in general. It has been months after I have seen anyone unironically wearing a nose ring, for example.

Dark Side of the 90s "Talk Shows" Showing the idiocy of humanity
You don't get to decide what is funny or not. People watch it and when nobody cares about it, they die out. In this case, I assume this series was in the 90s and didn't even last 10 years or more. That is the reason. Some collections of TV are still being chased after by 2022, this is one that died out.

This doesn't sound like a game in a normal sense and just sounds like it would be done in no more than one long thread and several egotistical punks(trust me, some of us don't want to get involved with forum games for the most part, myself often included).

What Mafia has that makes it a great forum game is that it can be themed, twitched, and swapped. You choose a bunch of roles, jacket them up with different characters, and there is a new game for the fortnight, a different one.

This sounds just like descriptions, and any twists on this would lose the essence as I could imagine. I guess you can try, but before any formal attempts, saying that it is >Mafia is arrogant to my ears or eyes.

no but if you used logic to create god, then you are appealing to some standard such as the law of non contradiction.
No, but if you assert that God created logic, you first have to put a lot of rules even imagining what God is. That does not help.

no what so you are saying that it was right for hitler to do it? you are that, in the moment where his norms are rite, he was rigth to kill jews?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, I disagree with him, you disagree with him, everyone does. But to himself, this was a morally justified act. Suppose you are a white boy born in Berlin in 1930 and you don't ever go out of Germany until after 1945, you would most likely consider such an act righteous because everyone else say so.

What you are trying to prove is an objective morality. Prove that.

if you think god doesnt exist you cant justify why the holocaust was bad.
first off, it would be easy to rationalize that we used logic to create the idea of God and went with it instead of the other way around.

Second, we can justify the Holocaust not being bad, because morality is subjective. Hitler just had a disagreeable moral standard relative to most of us here, as racism is reprehensible here. If racism is normalized in society the tale will be different.

A search function for forum posts in a topic, would that be a good idea?

Like, we would simply lose track of what we are discussing in a forum topic if we happen to be sleeping on the other end of the globe whereas everyone else is flaming awake.

I think we could type in numbers(#), usernames or key words to filter posts so we would have the ones we want.

The SCAM of White Fragility & White Privilege

Let's use common sense here. Different people are different. Black people are different from white people resulting in different advantages and disadvantages. Yet you think White privilege doesn't exist while pushing that black privilege does. That seems contradictory to me in a societal standpoint.

STOP blaming POLICE for doing their job!!!
-->
@TWS1405
Instead, we obviously blame the system for dispatching jobs that should not be. Are the Nazi soldiers guilty because they fought for a wrong cause? We overlook them, because they were to do the jobs they are assigned to do. Instead, we blame the leaders who gave such missions the most. No figurative comparisions, just proving a point.

I mean, policemen with guns failed to protect kids from a shooter. Whoever told them that this was a right thing should be thrown in jail and punished.

White Privilege - Fact or Fiction
-->
@TWS1405
Well... Rosa Parks was dismissed for standing for herself by sitting down a front seat meant for White people, so obviously it did exist. After passing the "separate but equal" act in the 19th century, the water fountain drank by Black people were in stripped condition compared to the ones drank by White people. Minorities were not allowed to run in some occupations back then, or are probably strongly voted against. White privilege is not a myth. It is a part of American history at least.

Flagrant Black Privileged Racists and their hatred for America

George Floyd = black privilege
Oh yeah, what could possibly be a sign of black privilege? A black man being kneeled on to the point they suffocate! For a crime that does not guarantee death penalty!

Jada Pinkett Smith = black privilege
Will Smith = black privilege
Pretty sure in-today the entertainment field is all flooded "Rich-privilege", which they probably have. I don't think they got into film academy by audition just because they are black or something. The rest would probably be some works requiring actual black roles which they handle, and thus is not black privilege. Please explain more, TWS.

Over the past decade and beyond, any non-person of color could be fired, blacklisted, and ostracized for innocuous things said and/or done whereas if a person of color did the same thing would be either ignored or given a pat on the back for saying or doing so. This, by definition black privilege (or even Hispanic privilege), not white privilege.
Pretty sure there was a report done in the past decade that black-sounding names are less likely to be picked by interviewers, etc. This goes both ways. I don't think a black guy would not be fired if the most notable thing they did in the office was setting it on fire. What would be that one thing that would get White workers fired but not Black people?

What’s your stance on Gun regulations?
Guns nowadays should be less available to the public and more expensive so they generally end up as luxury in the wealthy of the more etiquettes. The more the gun availability is and the cheaper it is, the more crime there will be(unless we get to a point where everyone has a gun and we have threat duels every single day on the streets of every single concentrated settlement, which is unlikely and also, steel is not free).

If you don't like how much guns intrude society like me, but live in that specific part of society where banning guns is banned(the US, obv), I believe another thing we can aim to do is to make guns(or even just ammos) less profitable and thus they will be made in a gentler rate. People will willingly buy less guns knowing how costly they could be.

Contradictions in religious textbooks
Gosh, they are having religious textbooks? Even if we are teaching religion, I do not think anything beyond collections of original text would be suitable.

Upon not reading previous posts, I infer that there are 2 categories of contradictions:
  • 1. Directly introduced by the textbook outside of the original text whether it is induced or anything. Such things should be reformatted or outright removed.
  • 2. Directly introduced by original text. These are reasons why teaching religion in schools is not a good idea to begin with.

This site is intended for abnormal people to clash. The most normal would rather browse on Facebook and Instagram, or watch mainstream news. Socrates was not considered normal for his time, nor is Copernicus or Galileo or Schrodinger. Being disappointed for “abnormality” is absurd on this site.

More than that, this is a site that questions what exactly “normal” is. You give an answer and we debate here.

We should walk towards national wealth or even global wealth.

Also, it depends on what “rich” is. Getting $100,000 is relatively easy whereas getting $10,000,000,000 requires large amounts of hustling, exploiting, and luck.

People's Congress system in China
-->
@RationalMadman
What I am saying is that this is technically possible but every representative is taught to not do this.

Every time something like corruption or bribed manipulation occurs, it makes headline, even if it is just a district-wise problem. It makes people outrage. People can voice the issue.

Then, swaying the public masses through media portrayal is much easier in a “democratic” society like the US than swaying a group of peer-reviewed experts for any issue.

People's Congress system in China
-->
@RationalMadman
That is why the court exists. Almost all bribing occurs at the city or district or county level, and if so they are expelled from job, put into prison, etc.

It is so unlikely for a corrupt official to be in the actual charge it is outside regular consideration. Xi and the Chinese leaders are just a little to authoritarian to some but in the big picture you have a far bigger chance of winning the election by sheer family wealth alone in the US than in China.

If someone has a burning take(for example, ban video games!), the people express outrage(there is no verdict yet) and the local experts pick it up and the policy does not pass.

In this society, your opinion indirectly influence experts, not directly; and you actually can call for the replacement and court trial of an expert if there is enough evidence.

People's Congress system in China
Darters in the west, what do you see wrong with it?

So, the foundational levels, the councils in districts, cities, and counties, will be elected by citizens themselves. Then, the candidates of the level above, such as larger cities, will be voted amongst the foundation level councils, in which the council members vote and the people with the most votes gets to participate in the higher-leveled councils. The provincial council is voted amongst the council members in all the cities(admistrative area, like the US's counties, a county in China is a part of a city-level admistrative area) within it,  and the National People's Congress is voted amongst the provinces the same way.

Pretty much all the people that are being chosen are supposed to be elected from the people themselves at one point in their life but the decision on the tippy top will be handled by the governments at every level, which they are more qualified to make decisions like this than the people all across China which they probably don't work their entire life to be a governmental official. This is different from "democratic" mass ballots from all the people that exist, in which sometimes they don't know what they want or they don't know whatever they want actually means. Swaying the public does not work because the professionals decide on it.

So, what do you think is wrong about it?

Ask Hong Kong and Macau whether China keeps her promises to respect local autonomy and fundamental human rights.
They get as much as we do in Chinese Mainland, if not more lax about trade. This contrasts with over a hundred years of colonial authorization where they were being discriminated against by westerners.

You have no right to judge whether we get enough rights or not, we do, and we say we do get enough. It is simple. If we get large-scale outrages of a lack of rights, there would be an unstoppable trend on the internet not even able to be censored. Right now, this does not exist(unless you are talking about in HK, etc, in which they clearly get an equality of rights).

I have asked a few friends living in HK, and they say the trouble caused by the violent protesters(and the group associated with them) is MUCH MORE than the official policies there. Who are we asking? A deliberately-separatist group? Spies? Maybe, just maybe, what the government believes does not represent what the people believe automatically, especially in a so-called "democracy". Massive riots happen at Taiwan(arguably more peaceful than those that were in Hong Kong) against this decision. Does the government even ask the people? I don't think so.

@Swagnarok
But no matter the outcome, hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of Taiwanese will be dead either way. The only way to avoid this outcome is for China to not invade in the first place.
Exactly. Pelosi visiting does the opposite of this. She makes it worse.

China would have to use expensive weapons every time they attacked (as opposed to cheap artillery like Russia).
People's Liberation Army is MUCH more well-equipped than military trained in Taiwan. Some experts expected such potential attack to fall in days. If the US is getting into this, this will turn into a much larger warfare(with the US more well-equipped) and could possibly lead to WW3. What Pelosi is doing is escalation.

At this point, what Peace is for the US is to just keep out for all potential wars and definitely don't catalyze the wars to come. The US has turned regional conflicts in Korea, Vietnam, the Middle East into a larger-scale bloodshed by participating in it. While it is not for territoral gains, it is definitely a message for the world that they are strong and they can do whatever the hell they want.

But what is Chinese expansion in the past few years? Just a few islands in the ocean and a few undisputed areas with India or something. China DEFINITELY would not want to act first in a war. They haven't for like almost a century.

What Pelosi is doing is accelerating conflict.

First, the nationalists and a few other parties agreed to be a part of China mostly, and it is only the democrats, who is currently in power, who is making all this fuss of leaving China.

Second, I think Pelosi’s visit is unauthorized. People from Taiwan, Chinese mainland, and including US(even politicians) criticized her. She only tended to a small non-majority of Taiwan which people across China hates, that is not what you want to do if you are a congresswoman. You want to make conflict less likely, not knowing accelerate conflict.

Yeah. Because they and their children will be murdered by the PLA if they do.
You are underestimating strategy here. China's Mainland plots if any occupation by military, the goal is to make Taiwanese separatist politicians(who apparantly controls the province) surrender, not to convert this into a further hell(but some hell might be induced, for the sole purpose of surrendering.

Plus, if Taiwan says nothing, no military occupation there will be.

for the sake of showing support for Taiwan sends a strong message that America won't back down if things escalate.
Yeah, if we ignore the fact that the US is (in)famous for starting conflicts for decades now for their own gains. America is not going to back down, they are likely the starter of whatever this is.

Taiwan is a sovereign country by every metric, and it's only because of persistent diplomatic/economic bullying by China that the world doesn't formally recognize this simple fact.
Uhh... not even Taiwan openly state this view. Only 1 party agrees with this, which is just discount democrats basically. The reason the Taiwanese people "Disagree" is because of education: They distill separatist messages(in an unregulated or lightly-regulated market of textbooks). In reality, nobody "should" hold this view.
