Most people dont know how badly the pedophiles are treated in prison
-->
@Best.Korea
We 'have 'legal rights, 'due to force.

Of course there are 'moral rights people speak of, 'expected treatment in a society,

But I prefer talking about 'rights with a 'bit of subjectivity,
Though I speak objective at times,
For instance I don't think children can consent to sex with an adult,

Or sure people can 'talk gray areas, like an 18 year old who 'just turned 18 that day, getting together with a 17 year old,
But that's not what people mean usually, I think.

More often when I happen to come across some person trying to justify pedophilia, they go all in,
Where they'd claim absurdities (From my view)
Such as a 30 year old and a 5 year old being normal,
Bah,

Sure normal is as normal does,
'Prison gets 'normal, once one has been institutionalized, normalized to it.

But I'd rather my society not get normalized to adults and children getting together.

Children have plenty of rights in the UK, from what I read,

A right is an entitlement to something,

We all have rights, and lack some rights, as we are not entitled to 'everything.

. . .

Pretty common story to hear of pedophiles in prison being beaten or killed though,
Various reasons I'm sure.

. . .

Norway has nice prisons I hear.

If you dont want to tax the rich, what other options do you have?
-->
@Best.Korea
Gated community residents pay for the repair of their roads themselves,
Rather than pay the government to do it,
Besides, what is the government often but an interfering middleman,
Paying private contractors to pave the road.

Though I suppose one could argue the government is an 'attempt at fairness to all, and that all people are equally spent tax money on,
I make a point of the word 'attempt,
Though some situations might be a bit good for big government, like natural disasters, though it'd be better if communities were prepared on their own (I think),
But people live in different circumstances, jobs, opportunities, laws,
Maybe the government 'attempts too much at times.

Good poems/rap verses/book excerpts (do not troll)
The silence spreads. I talk and must talk. So I speak to him and say to him:
"Comrade, I did not want to kill you. If you jumped in here again, I would not do it, if you would be sensible too. But you were only an idea to me before, an abstraction that lived in my mind and called forth its appropriate response. It was that abstraction I stabbed. But now, for the first time, I see you are a man like me. I thought of your hand-grenades, of your bayonet, of your rifle; now I see your wife and your face and our fellowship. Forgive me, comrade. We always see it too late. Why do they never tell us that you are poor devils like us, that your mothers are just as anxious as ours, and that we have the same fear of death, and the same dying and the same agony--Forgive me, comrade; how could you be my enemy? If we threw away these rifles and this uniform you could be my brother just like Kat and Albert. Take twenty years of my life, comrade, and stand up--take more, for I do not know what I can even attempt to do with it now."

Best at what?
'Currently I think I'd prefer to choose Ravenclaw, because it seems a likely way to acquire power and immortality, knowledge I mean.
Still,
Bravery, loyalty, and honor, appreciable in Gryffindor.
Kindness, modesty, hard work, appreciable in Hufflepuff.

I suppose ambition can be admired, it's a common value to want more, I want more at times, cunning similar to knowledge, being resourceful,
I'm not aware of any wizards in my family tree though, so I don't 'think I could get into Slytherin, well, maybe if I cheated,
Still, I think it's better to work with good people than bad people,
Easier to trust they won't stab your back,
Then again, easier to convince a bad person to commit a bad act, maybe.

Imagine Flemmings objection to some other actors.

People 'can do different casting if they like, and sometimes it's actually rather interesting,

For me it's usually I just prefer what I grew up with,
Such as I preferred the original Robocop to the remake, nothing to do with race in that case.

I didn't even bother watching, other than the plot looking bad to me,
I just didn't care for the casting.

I'd have preferred a different cast/actor for Troy (film) - Wikipedia too, than Brad Pitt.

I imagine people find 'washing as they call it annoying, is because it seems often an attempt at diversity, than an attempt at a good movie,
People can be sensitive towards their ingroup, and perceived attacks, true or not, on it

or like Fate Stay Night making King Arthur a woman, it's based on predictions of what more people will watch, $,
Rather than about historical accuracy, well, fantasy anyhow the series.
Never seen Fate Stay Night myself.

"A popular fan theory claims that James Bond is a codename assigned to whichever agent is serving as 007, and while it's clever, it's incorrect."

Course there were also some web pages that argued James Bond 'was a code name,
007, I could believe to be a code number,
But I 'think (Am not certain) that there is only one James Bond,

Like there is only one Superman,
Even if there is Superman in older era movies,
And Superman in new era movies,
Just his position in time changed,
Not the person.

I'm used to a black Blade (character) - Wikipedia, and black Spawn (character) - Wikipedia, too.

I don't think that the character of James Bond has a history of being played by different races or lifestyle choices,
Seems odd to me, to change it,
Characters have a look, an identity.

How does a Democracy retain it's values and traditions when others immigrate to it,
I suppose one would expect the immigrants or their children adopt the Democracies values, but that's only an ideal,
Though I suppose others might claim it's better the Democracy adopt the immigrants values.

Really a problem though, if a Democracy tried to expand fast,
If too many new citizens/lands are accepted, throws the Democracies values off, because of the new voters.

I suppose Dictators don't have said problem, given their enormous influence,
Not that I'd want to live under a Dictator,
Just rambling.

Wouldn't surprise me if they did,
They probably have female agents as well,
Could make the same argument for a Julia Bond,

Maybe if they wrote a 'really banger script for a black or female Bond, I could see it,
But I'm pretty used to Bond as a white British guy,

Often though, it seems more like virtue signaling, the reason for some cast choices in movies,
I do say 'seems, as I don' know what's in people's heads.

. . .

Hm, is James Bond supposed to be a 'single person, or a position?

If it's a position, it's a harder position to argue against, and like I said, if people have a 'good script, could be good,
Though I'm pretty used to Bond as a white British guy,

If Bond is supposed to be the same individual though,
People get used to a look often, even hair color in some cases,
Though Bond's changes it seems.

I'm not really sure in makes sense for James Bond to be black,
Well, maybe if it was a modern day James Bond,
Still it seems a bit an odd casting choice for Bond.

Better to do new secret agent, I'd think,
Like Jackie Chan! The Tuxedo - Wikipedia

. . .

Just feels out of place to me a bit, to have a black Achilles, or John Wayne Genghis Khan,
Though people probably have arguments to claim Achilles was or could have been black,

Also could be studios in some places can't always afford or find right actors for part,

School plays wouldn't need be sticklers on casting, I'd think,
. . .

Even some plays in history had men acting as women,
Though that's more the role acted in, than the role being switched.

Sure, diverse cultures could probably do a better job of depicting Jesus, or educating people on what we know about his appearance,
Which I 'think is nothing, not something I've looked into before,

I don't really care for crosses or statues of Jesus anyhow,
Feels a cheapening of what he is,
For 'me, I can understand others feeling differently.

I like statues of Greek deities, well enough,
But for me that's because they represent something else.

. . .

Then again, maybe a diverse culture would have a diverse number of Jesus depictions,
And in a nondiverse culture, one will be surrounded by the primary culture anyhow. . .

I don't think white Jesus is so much 'sinister, as a common act of people to depict individuals in their culture like themselves.

It 'can be interesting to see Rule 63 and other changes to original idea in concept art, maybe even finished projects,
Art being free can be fun,
Though often I don't watch remakes because I prefer the original I 'first saw.

I'd suppose people don't like the 'pushy, 'imposing feeling they get from some remakes,

Bots can add value in video games, single players vs bots,
Or 1-2 bots to fill out group multiplayer.

I suppose even some online forums might appreciate bots,
But I can't see much value myself, at a glance, to online chatbots in a people forum,
Maybe as a 'game, where chatbot is randomly added, taken away, like Imposter game.

I 'only mean this as counterpoint,
I'm not fond of aggressive war, rape, or murder,
So much 'seems to have been 'reported in Russia's offensive.

Even people we don't like can possess loyalty,
Though there's different ideas of loyalty I suppose,
Some might view loyalty to Russia as assassinating Putin,
Other's might view Russia and Putin as much the same, so long as he is leader.

"Not a step back."
Might still echo in some Russians minds,
Though it was a threat and force against Stalin's own people,
Some might think of it with pride.

Even if Russia 'does lose, or is in bad situation now,
Would such not prove Putin's 'concern about Russia's power on the world stage correct,
That Russia is not who they 'should be (From people obsessed with Russia power view),
That this struggle is necessary to become what they ought be.

Who watches the Watchmen?

Often a reasonable argument I think, for compartmentalization of humanity,
Sometimes some individual or group seizes power, runs amok and tries to kill everyone, remove rights, or just act in ways the people don't want,
But if an absolute power exists, how can it be stopped?

Checks and balances I suppose,
Of which multiple sovereign countries could be.

"Quis custodiet ipsos custodes? is a Latin phrase found in the work of the Roman poet Juvenal from his Satires (Satire VI, lines 347–348). It is literally translated as "Who will guard the guards themselves?", though it is also known by variant translations, such as "Who watches the watchers?" and "Who will watch the watchmen?".
The original context deals with the problem of ensuring marital fidelity, though the phrase is now commonly used more generally to refer to the problem of controlling the actions of persons in positions of power, an issue discussed by Plato in the Republic. It is not clear whether the phrase was written by Juvenal, or whether the passage in which it appears was interpolated into his works."

A thought that's often occurred to me,
Is that one of the ways Britain might have kept it's Empire, would have been to be more integrating,
Giving the people in the Empire equal rights, not 2nd class,
Giving them equal representation,
Marrying the royal family to citizens of all parts of the empire.

But,
People don't like losing what makes them 'them, I think,
But Britain already is against racism I think, get's a fair number of immigrants, though as you say of Brexit, perhaps not 'so much,
Besides, we're never 'quite the generations before, I'd say,
Changes of values, genetics, even in the most closed systems, differences occur.
Maybe a society of 'clones would stay more the same to their original nature,
Still, even with changes, people often want to remain who they are, groups 'or individuals I suppose.
Rambling.

. . .

Personally I think humanity 'might be able to get rid of it's race fixation,
If it wasn't 'such a fixation,
If it's not brought up constantly, made a spectacle of, or 'insisted that it exists and matters, whether in politics of p*rn,
People forget.
They forget eye color, hair color, shapes of faces, until they get told 'there's a difference.
Though it might be a flawed 'study, like the Stanford prison experiment - Wikipedia, which some people suggest may have been people acting out an 'expected role, though even an act, people can get into, until it's real.

My point though is that many people don't think much anything of someone's hair or eye color,
Then again I'm from America, mixed country,
Different hair color might stand out in Asia,
And people have stereotypes of red hair, blonde hair.

I can't bring myself, to much like such breaking down of walls between groups,
Though I don't consider myself a 'very discriminatory person in policy, or in action,
As I think I've said before, I'm not 'much bothered by the groups thing,
But that's only 'much, and if I don't think on it too much, encounter it too much,
Though even at my worst, I still think it not 'much.
. . .

I suppose some people could be convinced not to reproduce, like the Shakers,
But seems unlikely to convince every human, or even a majority really.

"Adam's sin was understood to be sex, which was considered to be an act of impurity. Therefore, marriage was done away within the body of the Believers in the Second Appearance, which was patterned after the Kingdom of God, in which there would be no marriage or giving in marriage. The four highest Shaker virtues were virgin purity, communalismconfession of sin – without which one could not become a Believer – and separation from the world.
Ann Lee's doctrine was simple: confession of sins was the door to the spiritual regeneration, and absolute celibacy was the rule of life.[36] Shakers were so chaste that men and women could not shake hands or pass one another on the stairs.[37]"

"Shakers were celibate; procreation was forbidden after they joined the society (except for women who were already pregnant at admission). Children were added to their communities through indenture, adoption, or conversion. Occasionally a foundling was anonymously left on a Shaker doorstep.[39] They welcomed all, often taking in orphans and the homeless. For children, Shaker life was structured, safe and predictable, with no shortage of adults who cared about their young charges.[40]
When Shaker youths, girls and boys, reached the age of 21, they were free to leave or to remain with the Shakers. Unwilling to remain celibate, many chose to leave; today there are thousands of descendants of Shaker-raised seceders.[41]"

"By the early 20th century, the once numerous Shaker communities were failing and closing. By mid-century, new federal laws were passed denying control of adoption to religious groups.[19]"

Who do you consider your 'people?
What 'defines that people?
. . . I'd say a group that one identifies with, yet groupings, vague and various.
Family, language, morals, religion, ethnicity, hair color, speech impediments, no speech impediments,
So vague. . . Arbitrary, yet even people voraciously opposed to tribalism, hard to be without a group, to be 'so antisocial, how can one 'avoid 'action, in response to society? Unless one banished themself a hermit forever, never again hearing or seeing another person for the rest of their life,
But even then, even then, dogs, wolves have packs, blood pumps through our veins, even without 'people, similarities between oneself and their environment is seen, even do away with everything but a vast rock surface. . . We are social animals, and man once worshiped the Sun, some still do, I imagine. . . Can one 'avoid people?

USSR border wall, was more about Russia attempting to subjugate/control Germany, I think but may be mistaken.

Israel's wall,
"The barrier was built by Israel following a wave of Palestinian political violence and incidents of terrorism inside Israel during the Second Intifada, which began in September 2000 and ended in February 2005.[7] The Israeli government cites a decreased number of suicide bombings carried out from the West Bank as evidence of its efficacy"

Which isn't to say there aren't arguments 'against the wall, as I glance down Wikipedia I see 'many,
Though it's not a subject I've thought on before.

. . .

Waves can be stopped,
For a time, though 'eventually time weathers us all away I think, we often value what time we can make.

Prisons imply that one 'can stop people from being free and communicating,
But I don't view a border wall as a prison myself,
If I wanted to stop being an American, I could renounce and leave, but I past and currently 'like being an American.

We can't do 'whatever we want, freedom is limited,
I may want to instantly flap my arms and fly,
But no, doesn't work, I have to buy or build a airplane to fly, which I can't do 'instantly.

What do you mean by better morals?
What is your definition of morality?

Fair point on Japan being a rather homogeneous country, though I'd imagine there 'are some differences in beliefs, people, culture,
It 'does seem to me that they would have 'less differences than some other countries, such as Brazil, South Africa and America.

But,
Something I've thought on now and then, I've British, Danish, Norwegian, and various other ancestors in my tree that I forget, many more I'm sure, the further back one goes,
X Color identity, is a fair bit odd I think,
For plenty of British, Danes, Norwegians fought against each other, likely dehumanized each other in conflict,

If there wasn't such an 'emphasis on this group or that group,
It'd often fade a fair bit, I think,
As I don't 'think white supremacists care about hair or eye color very much, yet many of our ancestors might have, I imagine.

People feel threatened when X group is identified, and they imagine some mass of them coming, changing one's everyday view, expectation,
But would it really matter if they were X ethnicity?
Surely a mass of blue or purple haired people would be scary to some people as well?

Not so much the 'color, as the established 'idea of a different group, an outside threat,
Don't know where I'm going with this just ramb-

Ah right.
. . .

International law, conflicted nations becoming less conflicted, Japan 'might be homogeneous 'now, but internal wars aplenty in the past,
One can simply argue some diverse nations haven't found their footing yet,

Britain had wars aplenty in the past, massacres, English, Irish, Protestant, Catholic, yet is more at peace now than the past I imagine.

I would think given time, other countries, such as Brazil, South Africa and America, can also find less conflict between groups.

. . .
Though, maybe one can't even say we've lost our tribal sense, simply 'expanded our ingroup,
If purple skinned aliens appeared, would it matter to many people if they promised to share our values and laws, so long as end result was that what we identified as was replaced? As in all humans died, replaced by the aliens?

I'm 'not advocating for that Replacement theory, or that we ought exclude outgroups of racial types,
I'm just thinking on what people think, when they follow tribalism.

. . .

I'm still reading it, thinking on it.

Re-reading older posts in topic as I think, noticed these posts talking about empathy for outgroup,
I'd argue that such empathy can be felt because the outgroup is 'also an ingroup,
Take soldiers of different countries at war,
Ingroup one first thinks of is their nations,
But they also have ingroups of their humanity, as fellow soldiers, as same ethnic group or culture at times.

@NoOneInParticular
The idea of a person rewiring themself or another has long bothered me, since some readings of horror and trauma fiction,
Not that it's anathema/unusual to being human, living,
It's always happening, we're born, learn, forget, are instructed by our genetics and environment, change,
It doesn't really matter whether it's our parents, good, bad, or if we were born alone on a deserted island and learned everything for ourselves,
There's no avoiding it,
Though we hate terms such as brainwashing, forced lobotomies
Education exists, the simple act of interaction and change exists, harmful brain tumors are removed, rehabilitation exists, people practice self evaluation, introspection, practiced efforts to change who they are to become who they want, achieve what they want,
But even rehabilitation of those we consider evil bothers me somehow, just the talking and urging that they share our values,
Even healing a person when they're traumatized beyond helping themself,
I find it heard to explain.

Thinking on #30

And my 2nd brother comes to mind,
Though I call myself a hedonist, I don't go so far as him, to be a drug addict who abandons duty and care of his family,
Though one could argue he doesn't 'truly feel more pleasure in drugs,
. . .
People also find pleasure in meaning, a parent might feel happy, even when starving, if only they can see their children be able to eat.

It's good to separate aspects of individuals, from the individual themself,

So long as a goal of ours is to have a good time, be polite,
Disagreement with 'one aspect, need not bleed into 'all interactions.
Usually.

Maybe the colonists 'ought to have colonized America, despite the original inhabitants/
. . .
Hm, 'ought. . .

Not very nice to the original inhabitants,
Nice to one's own descendants, but probably could have been nice to one's own descendants in other ways.

Of course the idea of ought do nice, or even idea of what 'is nice,
Confuses me a bit,
Darn nihilism,

I already stated in post #41
"I'm of the opinion that America ought not have been settled at all, given it already had inhabitants,"

But I guess you would have been one of the Natives to sell his land for a bead.

'Some of them yes,
Lived honest hardworking lives, raising their families, enjoying life, helping others.

It's 'your argument, that we ought let in all the illegal immigrants,
Akin to letting a trespasser force entry into one's house, live there as they like.

White Privilege - Fact or Fiction
-->
@IwantRooseveltagain
You brought up White Privilege in another topic, so I came here to state my opinion.
I am of the opinion that individuals possess varying characteristics that give them advantages and disadvantages in outcomes, varying on different situations,
So what?

White privilege is a different topic, but I'll pop into that topic one and state my opinion, since it appears to be an interest of yours.

I am familiar with basic US history.

Family fortunes rise and fall,
Some families consider living a humble life as a good person, more a success than being rich.

I decline to give my literal house, as in wooden structure I live in, to some illegal immigrant.

I am not talking about white privilege,
I am talking about Americans with staked claims.

My spot was saved in advance, by my ancestors.
Now I am seated upon my inheritance,

Yet I ought let strangers force me from my seat, my route, because they 'demand it?

What is morality
-->
@Sidewalker
Do you believe in an objective good and evil then?

I ask as you say,
"as we explore our experiential environment we will arrive at moral knowledge in the same way that we arrive at other types of knowledge"
and
"it is reasonable to accept as fact that we are morally responsible causal agents "
