By the 5 senses. The reality expressed is the reality given and asserted. If you ask 1000 people the same question in usage of 5 senses and they give roughly the same answer. Ie buildings are taller than people. Water needed for survival, trees often having leaves or needles, etc.

How do you know that a book made in 1611 with less than 200 greek scholar authorized under king james has written the "closest" thing to truth than what we have today? We currently have over 6k manuscripts of the greek new testament alone. Not to mention the thousands written in other languages. And by the way, you referring to 1611 kjv bible right? They had the apocrytha which is considered UNINSPIRED scripture.  

No, you arent a greek scholar to assert the kjv as the most complete, infact kjv onlyism is a rather intresting problem among believers.  Ill give ya some links to do research on kjv ism and let you decide.

There is definately something to be understood about social experience and academic focus.

My pastor was grateful to the school system for a number of reasons. 

1: the enviroment it helped him with focus.

2: the people, it helped him to consider other views.

But most of all he values education for discipline. He always stresses having access to books, developing a good method of study (retaining the knowledge) and to discipline yourself to do the studying repeatedly.

If you are trying to understand who is most truthful here, then you forgot that this is a debate website. Where truth is even questioned and very often not defined. Having definitions doesnt give you authority in a forum, only a agreed upon resource, which can be shot down. You probably would have been better off asking "who do you agree with most in debates?" I think you misunderstood what he means by truth. He even gave the definition for it, but you operate under an assumption that truth isnt discoverable because people are different. 

I dont trust anyone to give me the truth other than God. If what they say lines up with what God says, then ill consider their words. 

You can disagree with people without doing "direct attack" you dont have to curse or insult or degrade or troll, we make choices how to approach people.

You bring an intresting point up, aside from your assertion of rewriting scripture. And in truth i wasnt redefining the bible, i was referencing the hebrew word for evil, which "ra" is used in place of calamity, even other bible translations use the word calamity instead of evil.

Now to the intresting point (to me) there are things that man has done which didnt enter Gods mind. Jeremiah 19:5 jeremiah 32:35.  So, you are using scripture to assert evil was part of God's mind? If that were the case, then let me ask you something. If evil was for his glory, why didnt he glorify the first being to commit evil? No. He uses even evil to glorify his GOODNESS and his MAJESTY. By accomplishing his will through the judgement and destruction of evil. IE Calamity.

Hmmmm. Picking your battles is the most important thing to learn. The vote systems are both off in my opinion. DDO was mostly unmoderated, but DART wants your reasonings for your vote. I believe there should be moderation, but votes that are still intellectually raw will encourage more votes. A summary of your view why one argument is superior to the other as well as necessary conduct, spelling and sources check.  It seems difficult to have a simple break down of reasoning and balance that with "feel" voting.  

Another thing that i would do personally would make the author of forum topic not able to see posters comments whom they have blocked. Sure it can be taken advantage of, but its up to each of us to consider the opinions of others, what we can handle and what we disregard (ie troll posters who go off topic) to simply make their comments not appear to those who blocked them.

Being able to cancel your own debate would also be a life send. Or make it where unmoderated debates can be cancelled. I cant tell you how many times life gets in the way or the other person simply just trolls.  

Also why is comments of debates backward from forums? Make it where we see on BOTH that the first comment is newest or the first. 

That being said, i dont believe in debate structures DDO and DART. Its like an arena setup instead of a reasoning setup. Sure people can value sound logic, but i believe trying to discuss the merits of your topic to the other person is more important than kritics and semantic loops. Sources and their origins are worth exploring.  

Me? I care only about spreading the TRUTH. The gospel of Jesus christ. So i usually use 1 or 2 sources for most of my views. 

Until humans become omnscient, knowing the most accurate facts at the time is more important to me. And we all have the ability to do that without insulting each other or putting definitions in other people's mouth.

Evil as in disruption of peace or calamity, God didnt create the concept of evil when lucifer first lifted himself up in pride, or when mankind disobeyed his direct commands. We made the choice.

Basically title. I have found that many people here have traded one knowledge for another. The goal of every conversation and debate is to express an idea and to agree or disagree with it. When you use words that have subjective meanings or are disputed at best or misdefined at worse, you create chaos. Use simple words, or come together to agree on which meanings are appropriate. If you cannot agree on what words mean, then how can you express your beliefs or the truth to that person? Consider being open to understanding what the other person says. If you dont agree or understand each other, then speak with someone you can understand. Save yourself from needless headaches, let life shape and convience them if you cannot.

It was man who chose to sin and so evil comes upon those who perform evil. Humanity has no one to blame but its self. The sooner we acknowledge our sin, the sooner we can be forgiven. The greatest physical representation of evil looks us in the face when we see a mirror. 

Has to do with trust. If you dont trust someone, yes easily. But if you do trust someone, then the why is less important, especially if you know them.
