Welcome to NFL Mafia! This game setup was made with help from Lunatic.

This is a game based on the National Football League, an American league that plays football (duh)! Each character will be a team that currently plays in the league and will have a theme that divides the team into two categories, with stated reasons for roles based on the team as well. Scum team will have a fake claim pool (with some better than others) and may also go outside of the pool for fake claims. There is no Jester.

That's why it's such a pit. We need to scrape together whoever we can find just to get a good game going. While ramping up efforts to get the site searched on Google and the like.

Yeah, it is a pretty steep climb for new players. But I honestly would not want to constantly play Cop9ers. It gets stale after a while. The creative explosion of mafia got the game pretty popular across the internet, from here to MU to the Bulbagarden forums. I honestly think mafia needs to stay creative to survive. To me it seems like the lack of participation here comes from 1) A lack of new users finding and staying on this site, 2) Poor modding becoming more common (partially my fault) and 3) The existing inactivity feeding into the second of these issues. When old players leave, new players to easily welcomed into modding games without having been a co-mod for a more experienced mod. 

If I recall on DDO, there was a number of games played requirement to mod a game. Honestly, I wonder if we should bring that back to up the standard for average game quality. Now we just need the site to attract enough new members (and reclaim old members) for a good mod (or a mod with some help from a good mod) to get a game going, which goes back to the issue of site inactivity. It's a slow effort to climb out of the pit mafia is in right now, but it's still possible.

I'll start on prep.

I can modify to 9 if need be, but I really prefer not to.

I have a game Lunatic helped me make with a setup and NFL theme ready but I don’t know if I can pull 12 people for it. We can try but we’ll probably need some of the old school players just to fill the spots. 

I promise the setup is good and that modding will be consistent.

Do we need a site stance on this? We are all individual users. We all have our own stances. My stance is that what Putin is doing is obviously wrong, but why do we need the whole site to unite on this? We can try to get as many people to our side as possible, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion on a debate website. 

To bring up Mike’s nationality is irrelevant, and call me crazy, but I missed when companies just advertised their product instead of some trending cause in the news cycle. There is no need or reason to pressure an official statement out of him or any company or business owner.

If you have actual evidence of something like pedophilia I see no moral complications with revealing what you can to the police. However, Wylted had no actual evidence. Just speculation at best. If ADOL reveals himself to be a pedo it is a moral duty to call the cops on him. Until then, all I will think of him is that he is a dirty zoophile weirdo.

I have had my issues with past bans of users (even past bans of Wylted), but not this one.

Do you honsetly think this isn't ban worthy? The dude encouraged doxxing of another user! I don't care if ADOL isn't offended (although I don't know why you still want someone on the site if they tried to doxx you), if Wylted gets away with it, he's going to keep doing it. Besides, I don't think Wylted cared whether or not ADOL was offended by it. His intent was to harm another user of feign doing so by trolling. Either way, it crosses the line.

I’ve known about the restraining orders for a while now. This just the first time I’ve talked about it. But considering this is debate website, the whole idea of a blocking someone (outside of PMs) is completely counterintuitive.  Any such system implemented automatically makes it super easy to post an opinion and then shut down the conversation when someone disagrees with you. Then you can play victim when they just keep replying to you without tags. 

I would have just used a Google Doc and give a view permission only link.

No one's going to report you for this. Even if they do, moderation has reason to take any action against you for a post like that.

One dedicated spam thread should be allowed.

I’ve always felt because of non-tagging reply posts the way of regulations such a rule results over moderation. I don’t think there should be a blocking feature at all except for PMs. Anything else should be fair game, and if you get harassed on a forum or debate, that’s where the mods can step in.

I think I played just well enough. Certainly not perfect or even great (I was definitely too aggressive DP2, and I did glance over your results as well without noticing them), but I had some good plays in there as well.

To start, the vote block strategy we based our every move on was my idea (although it was just Ozark Mafia strats 2.0) My fake claim of Sambo I spent hours researching and my research efforts also prevented me from claiming Muay Thai, Judo, and Capoeira on when I was considering them at separate points in time (I’ll admit I also had plenty of help from Whiteflame with the list of viable fake claims I could research that he provided in the scum chat). I called Wylted was Wrestling in the scum chat but obviously didn’t out my thoughts since he was already on me at that point and speculating in-thread about his claim would only fuel his argument against me and actually give it some legitimacy (I do believe Wylted had me but for the wrong reasons). 

The cop claim wasn’t too bad looking back at how it did put eyes on Whiteflame instead of me ( lynching me before Whiteflame would’ve won the game for town for sure). And looking back, counter-sussing you wasn’t the best but not horrible since I had no other case on any other townie. You could call those misplays and I can agree with that; they just weren’t big enough screw-ups to cost us the game.

As for Whiteflame’s play, I feel like he was a good teammate this game. I had a lot of ideas throughout the game and he helped me work through them all, eliminating some strategies from viable usage with just sound logic. As previously mentioned, he helped me a lot with figuring out a fake claim for me by establishing a list of what’s viable for me to claim.

All in all I say yes. Sure we had some luck in some areas, but we capitalized on the luck when we got it. As for Pie’s vig kill on Wylted, it was a double edged sword to me. On one hand, he killed our next lynch target which put us in a rough spot DP2, but on the other, he mathematically enabled to voteblock strategy to work sooner than expected if I made it out of DP2 alive.

We almost just double hammered Whiteflame once he had RM and That2 on him. It would have been a funny way to win the game, but we had concerns about Supa being a roleblocker instead of vanilla, so we just continued the VTNL push in hopes Supa had smaller odds of roleblocking me.

All I can say at this point is, take the test and see what happens. You all have some level of uncertainty, and that all can be answered with the test. I don’t have anything else to say other than what I have already said.
