Update: Due to lack of sign-ups I will just start this game at the 9 players we have. I am removing odds of a Survivor TP as well and making it a 2v7. The only randomization will be in the power roles. Just trying to get this game off the ground; I hope y'all can understand.

Would’ve joined if I hadn’t committed myself to a mafia game at the time; I don’t think I can do both at once.

Regardless I’ll watch, maybe (and that’s a big maybe) even vote on some of these.

I’m not skeptical of science- it is merely a field or study. I am much more skeptical of some of the conclusions being made, especially when they encourage you to forgo your own research in favor of whatever it is they tell you. “Trust the science” in itself is anti-science because it clashes with the healthy skepticism that a healthy field of study needs.

Town obviously wouldn’t get such a luxury since any cop or other investigative role who gets killed by mafia to prevent a result from being revealed would then be able to reveal their results.

Yeah. I don’t necessarily understand why that’s the meta, but if I were to guess it would be to prevent things like mafia choking an otherwise good game (for them anyways) away because their best player got lynched/killed.

I think I will start the game if I get 10 players. Probs going to be RNG Mafia based on current vote but if not I think I can make either of the Matrix setups with work with 10 players if I make slight adjustments.

Still, players may join even if there are already 10 players signed up. I’ll give them some time.

But I will need the help in the future.

I won’t need the help for my current game since Matrix 12 is pre-made and RNG’s balance is entirely random.

So I’ve ran 3 games that completed and I honestly think they were all very town sided in balance. So I’m looking for someone to help me balance my next game after RNG/Matrix 12 Mafia. Preferably someone who doesn’t play mafia a whole lot anymore, but is very experienced in designing games.

Any preference on which game (between Matrix 12 or RNG)?

Rule change: Mafia will be allowed to post in the mafia chat after death. I used to have a rule where mafia couldn’t, but it wasn’t received well. Perhaps for a good reason. Let me know.

For either setup (RNG or Matrix 12), once the game starts I can’t answer questions about what roles are in the game (or who holds them, duh), but I can answer hypothetical questions about how a game mechanic would work, even after the game starts.

So I came up with a cool thought experiment in RNG Mafia, but I'm not sure how fun it would be to play, so I am giving the option to vote for a Matrix 6 or 12 (depends on player count) setup game instead which can fill in extra slots with vanillas and goons.

This is a 10 or more player game. Before the game starts, I will randomize everything about the game from a pool of possibilities. Here are the odds:

Town vs Mafia (65% chance)

Town vs Mafia A vs Mafia B (35% chance)

No Survivors (60% chance)

1 Survivor (40% chance)

Mafia:

No power role (50% chance)

1 power role (50% chance)

Town:

No power role (70% Chance)

1 Power role, selected from pool (30% chance)

Mafia: 3x Roleblocker, 2x Redirector, Janitor, Ninja, Strongman, Lookout

Town: 1x Bulletproof, Tracker, 2x Doctor, Watcher, 3x Roleblocker, Bodyguard, Popular (gone in MYLO/LYLO),  1x Gunsmith, 1x Commuter, 1x Weak Cop

Depends oon how many players. 10 or more = Matrix 12. 9 or less = Matrix 6.
