Okay I misread what I was saying. Saying we are fighter or jets is not helpful. That’s the fucking theme.  We need something harder than that. At least the specific claim which prob knows nothing cus this theme is so niche or a hard role claim 

@whiteflame - I want you to role claim because I think it’s informative. We need someone to do it and I’d rather it be you because I think you tend to fuck up fake claims. I’d rather lock you down early

It’s not intended to be specifically about this site. Just a community that by extension will engage in this site in some way. Debates are a harder animal to tackle. Easier to get people together to BS and have a fun night of games than talk people into (who are likely busy) investing hours of time to prep for debating. There are fixes that for that, this is just the easier one to focus on for the time being. One that has a broader area of growth apart from this site as well. 

I spoke with Mike because of Wylteds post and to say the least, the post was exasperated to a high level. I don’t anticipate this website will go anywhere, and if it’s ever in a spot where that is a possible, there is enough people who care about the community that will prevent that from happening.

You and I have had our moments, but honestly you actually do a great deal for the site. You are by far the most active contributor, and it’s quite evident you value this place as much as you bitch about it. People probe you because you react to them. Whether it’s going to be this site, real life, or any other platform that you use, the same behavior will exist. Other places regulate and moderate it far less. I don’t think anyone has every disliked you as a person but you will say people bully you then turn around and gaslight them while you engage in the same rhetoric. Saying that because I think you should stay, just learn not to give a fuck. That’s not excusing the behavior but simply saying, it can and will never go away in any facet of life. Your job, your family, your friends, and especially online there will always be trolls. 

I can’t play now. Work is very busy but eventually I want to try to gather a bunch of good old school players for a good game. Likely will 

Would not matter it’s your number vs an average of the player in the games. But yeah a larger pool of players is better but regardless Elo would move slowly because it’s going to be weighted against the average of people in the game. 

Could also do mafia team average vs town team average etc. 

Plenty of games are team games and you obtain elo. Overwatch, leagues, etc. They live in averages. 

There is no way for the site to read a win or a loss without massive overhaul. You would have to give a user or a few users access to input the data and have the leaderboard update after the data is input. Same as debating, start everyone at a base elo and a win (either as town or mafia) counts as a win and would raise your elo. 

The debate would be how to calculate the elo that is gained or lost because traditionally it’s easier to do it with debate because it’s 1 v 1. Assuming how it works in traditional team games is that it places you in an elo that is close to you. 

If you are 1500 , it will match you with people around the same elo. Then likely calculates an average elo for your team and the enemy team. If enemy team average is 1555 and your Elo is 1500 then the loss or win is against the 1555. (This is me assuming)

In mafia you could come up with an average Elo for the lobby. Average all the Elos in the lobby, and let’s say it’s 1530. Your 1500 would be weighted against the 1530. 

That’s my initial thoughts at least, may be a better way that I’m not thinking of but would be a fun addition that would promote mafia and possibly get some others from diff sites to play it. Could run seasons, legacy, etc. 

I don’t know coding but if you need help with ranked formatting, lmk. I have played enough competitive games to have an idea of how you could implement it on here. Especially if you are serious about a mafia elo. 

Honestly should look at making mafia ranked, and capitalize on that community if you are looking at ways to drive traffic. 

You could run a standard elo vs seasonal elo. Just separate the tabs. Most competitive games will do this to incentivize competition. 

Leave standard as a legacy elo. Just don’t touch the current ones 

Set up seasonal Elo that runs in 6 month intervals  you could do a lot with this and do themed seasons or badges for winners 

Not sure if you have but I would re spin. Give it to a more active member 

Never use this site anymore but lunatic told me that RM was running and ironically I actually think he is probably the best person for this. Max was unfortunate and with his job and life, he was not able to deliver. He feels bad about it, but no one is picking a debate site over real life obligations and there is no reason to throw salt over it. 

That being said, the lesson from that is you need someone committed. Like it or not RM is obsessed with this site. It’s his corner of the world and he is by far the most active contributor by a mile. If someone deserves the chance to represent it, it’s him. I have no idea how effectively he will do this, but the bar to clear is someone who got elected and vanished. He’s always had his issues but I would bet anything, he’s always going to be around and doing what he can to contribute. Only person that is more qualified is whiteflame and he’s a moderator. But my vote is prob going to him just for the consistency and longevity that he has displayed in his tenure with the site.

tbh had anyone else been mafia I think gp would have sided with town. We just read each others minds

I'm not trying to debate the validity of an opinion lol. Even said I understood why you did it. It was just a weird time / way to post it right after we kept saying that he was scum slipping about the pm. Don't blame you at all for how you did it and as I told you in pms, I don't think there is a fair way to handle that because once a mistake happens in mafia it's very hard to correct. But that is far from me being salty. 

To be fair am not salty in the slightest. All I said was that mod post gave supa inadvertent confirmation either role or town, but town was likely to push pie over supa after that post. Hence why we decided to cheese it and go for joint win

wanted to win fair vs asking gp to mafia side and just let him stay alive to joint win but with mod confirming supa, had to kinda do it this way

still not saying team just in case town has some weird ass role that is being fake claimed but if all the roles are confirmed as is which im like 99 percent sure it is. Game is over
