Why am I getting tagged. Duh fuk

I am not pure free market (btw) , I think the ideology behind it (typically) makes stuff flourish. Obviously there has to be some regulation because without it and left unchecked there are certainly ways to abuse it. I think a lot of people land on this, possibly even you. Most of the debate is where you move the bar when you talk about regulation. This extends to a variety of topics as well.

I think Max typically hit the point pretty well on why it's bad to cancel instead of letting people handle it. It's why free market systems can work well. If someone wants to be a dick and not serve a certain ethnicity, someone else is going to open a store down the street and serve them and run them out of business. When you let people express their viewpoints, it allows it to be criticized and that is where you typically get better return for the results. Where as just blocking it, you allow them to think they are being censored and right.

Mine literally wasn't an attack thread in no shape and form. I honestly have 0 issues with you, I just think you are going to suck when it comes to your thoughts on what should be allowed and what shouldn't. The fact that you actually take that as an attack thread further confirms this to me lol. I was the one DMing mods to unban you when you got banned you doofus
I just apply it equally to everyone, people should be able to handle their own shit instead of having everyone call it a hate thread or attack thread the second some kind of beef pops up.

also I think connors issue with pie comes back from a mafia game where connor thought he was 100 percent right and pie was 100 percent wrong. Likely that he thinks pie is to stubborn to ever admit when he was wrong about something
personally I don't care who he votes for xD
RM can use the help anyway judging from the recent polling

@whiteflame
in your role as head mod, have either Connor or I made an attack thread against rm?
as a side note this is why you want max, because without him the ability to critique a platform someone is running on is viewed as hate speech

Keep in mind, Max and Whiteflame are really good friends and both have mutual respect for each other. So even though a moderator consensus could stop a veto, I would be more inclined to think that max is going to be a voice of the community and actually be able to prevent it from happening due to his previous roles which he worked with the current mods directly
Ironically the roles are just reversed at the moment from what they previously were

I can let max respond himself, and clarify each situation. I'm sure he will be able to as I don't know any of those people

his entire presence on DDO is what makes him qualified , It's also partially why people would argue that you aren't qualified. This site is an extension of DDO, so yes merits should be weighed.
Created:
Name times he was heavy handed because you are going to have a much harder time with it. I would be naming countless
I know imas bans were typically less than a week
mine were like 3 days
yyw the one time he got banned was like 3 days
wylted was hardly ever banned even when he constantly made controversial topics
Born of God was allowed to be around for years until he was an actual liability for his own health
the major bans were people like askbob, or malcomx, who were literally doxing and going beyond this that occurred on the site. You would have a much harder time finding cases were he was to harsh
Created:
that is just factually wrong lol

This site is an extension of the prior one. The role of president is meant to serve the community, this community came from ddo which was a community he was active in for 10 years. The amount of posts or activity on this site is irrelevant as he is representing the user base which are mostly familiar with him.
The fact that he was so lenient with ima is a testament to why he should be a moderator. Had that happened here, Ima would have been permaed ages ago and he did not deserve a perma. Your perma was for entirely different reasons and something that is not worth rehashing. But yes most of his bans have been spot on, and if they were not spot on, he could logically walk you through his thought process and defend it and in most cases help you understand it. You are never going to have everyone agreeing with everything that you do, but he was always able to defend and rationalize his choices in a very coherent way.

- Airmax1227 - I honestly believe this is the right choice. The same critique that I've thrown at this site for years is the same critique and main reason as to why it's dead (at least in my opinion). Over moderation and the ability to let the community moderate itself and resolve it's own issues until it's absolutely needed for moderation to step in. I found out whiteflame was head moderator yesterday so I'm sure some steps are already being made toward this as he is a gent of a human, and I've never had a bad experience with whiteflame outside of really bad mafia play. Kinda drools on his keyboard when he plays mafia, but we can't all be perfect and I love having him in mafia games nonetheless. But on the point of this, why Max? For those who have not known him, Max was the head moderator on DDO for around 10 years. He was not paid for this position and did it strictly out of a love for the community and the website. If you have never had an interaction with him, you absolutely should. Since his time on DDO, I can honestly claim him to be one of my best friends (I mean this fully). I've had the chance to interact with him both on and off DDO, and at his core Max is a an amazing human being who is far more mature than we deserve. His ability to rationalize bans, or explain his actions far exceeds anything we have seen since DDO died. Even when I was banned by him in the past, I was never arguing with him about the ban. I would even admit I deserved it after he explained it to me and why he was doing it. All that to say this, he can change the culture of this site. He takes a very hands off approach and lets the site moderate itself and solve its own issues until someone needs to step him. Max is honestly the person we need but don't deserve. This is the right choice.
- RM - While I have no issues with RM personally and love to see him active and engage with him (both to troll him and understand him as a person). I do not think he is the right person for this title. Yes he is active but that does not necessitate him as electable. From my interactions with him I've seen the same pattern of behavior, he is unable to engage with people past the point of them disagreeing with him. He either will block you or force himself to be a victim and call people bullies to avoid debate / conversation. This is a debate website, and there should be some animosity. The issue most people have with moderation now is that it's to heavy handed and I think RM will be just as bad as the current mods but tailor those choices unless they affect him. When he is the person in the wrong, moderation is horrible and heavy handed. When mods don't ban something he disagrees with, they should be more heavy handed. The entire way he would distribute his choices and bans would be entirely subjective and on a whim based on his personal ideologies. That is not to say I don't like him. I actually am glad he's around as I quite like his personality and he makes great content. He is in fact needed on this site, just not in any leadership capacity. Much like myself, I don't have the patience to deal with half the people I interact with online and flame them into oblivion. But I have my role to play.
- Wylted - Most people know him as a troll or captain rape debate. But wylted is in fact a good person. He's in it for the shock value and while I think he's vastly a better choice than RM, he does not hold a candle to Max. I say this with love and I would say the same of myself or even lunatic and other friends. It's not that wylted is bad or has any reason that he should not be elected. In fact if max was not running I would vote for wylted. The only argument I lob against wylted is that he is running against someone, who is vastly more qualified for this position.
So ask yourself, do you want to see this website change? Do you want to see it become active and try to reach the heights of DDO? I'm not sure it's even possible with how far in the grave this site is already, but if anyone can make it happen and if there is a chance to save it and bring back DDO then Max is the person to do it. Make the right choice and elect your neighborhood axolotl

To be fair most of the active people on DDO are not on this site for a variety of reasons (most stemming from issues with prior mod choices). You yourself have experienced it. The reason people are not active is because there is no content on this site. There is good drama, and bad drama and you need both to keep people invested into the site. The most active times in DDO is when people had a reason to argue and debate each other and go at each others throats. It was an outlet. Think of it like attitude era wwe vs modern day wwe. If you want a site to be active and people to care about it, mods can't strangle open discussion or moderate every fight that happens to the point people aren't invested in anything.
The way a site thrives is you let the community run itself until major lines are crossed. Max knows these lines better than any member on this site past or present.

I actually have a hard one for you. I think i've spoken to you in the past about this. While is is a debate website and the core of it should remain as such, most of the older members who prompted activity have now got older and have less time to engage in the type of debates we saw in the golden age. How do you feel about focusing on social aspects of the site to have it function as a platform for where people can connect and keep in touch with each other, mafia, games, etc. This exists but working to improve it and bring new members in
While trying to find new faces to help promote growth on the debate side

Let me re clarify
Why should we vote for you over RM. He has this policy where he blocks people that he doesn't like and refuses to interact with them
Could be a real challenge for you to overcome. You can't really do anything wrong, if you refuse to talk to people.
How would you counteract this?
