@Barney
Not sure who it was, but skimming over things earlier, someone said something about scum choosing to kill a watcher over the lovers... Two things on this: 1. They had no way to know my role when they selected me as the NK. 2. They obviously just saw greater benefit to killing the lovers later, and prioritizing killing power roles in the short term.
Yup this is true.

Not caught up on everything, but why did you out yourself? I doubt I was in danger of being lynched with the amount of town cred I had. If people were pushing too hard to lynch me, would be something to let them take pretty far to incriminate themselves (not that forming a wagon guarantees scum, but they have certainly that the death would benefit them on their side).
well. A few reasons.
a. We were doing mass claims. I claimed Joe West who is very obviously COP. (Like come on, what else would he be?)
b. If I had decided not to claim because of that, I would have had lots of suspicion pinned to me and would have wasted valuable time for the town.
c. We needed to narrow down people, and focus our energy on those that were unknowns. You were not an unknown, so I let people know I vouched for you.

@SirAnonymous
Thanks. So that just leaves Oromagi once again. Ragnar does this claim sound legit?

Is there gonna be LIVE mafia tonight?
Looks like they are skipping it this week due to ppl being out

I mostly want to see Sir's role. I've got Lunatic in my town pile along with the lovers.

@Lunatic
Let me ask, if not Oromagi, who else could it be? Is there anything pointing to Sir as a suspect?
Created:

@Lunatic
We're still talking through whether we believe him. I'm not sure myself, and I would hate to have him hammered and be town because we decided "fuck it, not worth talking about anymore"

Quick announcement:
NO ONE ELSE VOTE FOR OROMAGI YET. WE'RE ON 4/5 VOTES FOR HIM AND NEED MORE INFO. IF YOU HAMMER YOU WILL BE CONSIDERED SCUM.
Thanks, carry on.

@Lunatic
Do you buy oros bulletproof claim? It fits his character but idk. bomb and BP? that's two people mafia can't kill but I guess it kind of makes up for the lovers if all 4 are town.
To be honest, I'm not sure. This area is where I kinda falter with my lack of experience.
Created:

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Lunatic probably isn't scum. I've PLAYED with Lunatic when he was scum, and he would have taken full advantage of Drafterman's argument in DP1 and argued vehemently for a lynch. Instead, he argued for a no lynch.

@oromagi
I am BULLETPROOF
What is the justification for this role?

do you know his ROLE or just alignment?
just alignment

@Lunatic
Well, both your role and Sir's were vigilantes. I was a cop in the show

@Lunatic
I agree with Oromagi being top scum candidate. I want him to roleclaim
Created:

Well, looks like I'm the last one. I am Joe West. I didn't claim earlier for obvious reasons

@SirAnonymous
True, but we really only have one day phase to figure this out or we're screwed.

Yeah it's true. It's actually what killed me the one time I played as scum

@Intelligence_06
The scum team will just fakeclaim and will see what town player is the most worthy
Well duh. but those fakeclaims often contain little mistakes or hints that can lead us to finding them out.
....That's the whole point of pressuring people to claim.

I am ok with a mass character claim. I agree with Oromagi on this one: without finding scum today we're screwed.

@oromagi
I offered Chris yesterday that if he want my role he could organize a 4of 7 vote. If I thought SCUM had offered me a ROLE claim I would have tried hard to put those 4 votes together but Chris was not interested because he is SCUM and is uncertain how that might play. Since I have claimed a non-visiting role, SCUM has all the information they want only a TOWN would still be left wondering whether my claim was legit and wanting to challenge.I am 60-70% SCUM team is SA and Chris. I am open to changing my mind in light of new information but both keep clutching their identities close- which tells me that their characters are also very closely connected to their roles.
Hold your horses. I've been at school all day and haven't been able to really post until now.
If anyone is OMGUSing here, it's you.
I would still very much like to hear your role claim.

Alright. It seems that most people aren't convinced by my Oromagi read. Fair enough. But I maintain my read against him for now.
To recap:
Oro decided to tempt scum into trying to nightkill him. It didn't work. Evidently he has a role that would be harmful to anyone who visits him and I think it is a good idea we know it. If you're worried about scum being given too much info, don't be. He admitted this information openly ruining any chance scum would try to do anything to him. Oromagi has basically thrown away the utility of his role. In light of this development and Oro's recent blunder essentially incentivizing mafia to spare the lovers and confuse us more, I am really starting to wonder about Oromagi.
So basically:1. He says if the two lovers survive they are a solid scumread.The lovers survive miraculously...A potential attempt at getting mislynches.2. He says he tried to draw out the nightkill, trying to buy town cred. Despite the fact that any smart town would NOT do such a thing.
Why he probably isn't a "dumb" town:
if he were genuinely town, it would be obvious that by saying this he throws away the utility of his role. No one, especially no one as smart as he is, would reveal their role after one failed gambit attempt for no reason.I have never played a game with him as scum. I do know that if he were town he would never pull moves like this.
ANYWAY,
if not Oromagi, I have no solid reads at the moment.

@drafterman
I think I've outlined why this is an especially exceptional situation. These are moves that are pretty obviously bad... and it's not just one mistake, it's several. If you'll remember, I discounted the 1st mistake as evidence pretty quickly, but I'm starting to see a pattern now.

Maybe? Not seen him as scum. That said, I want to see what some of the other veterans like Lunatic have to say about this.

@drafterman
No. It strikes me as a failed gambit that only makes sense from a scum perspective.

He hasn’t revealed his role.
You know what I mean.
He admitted this information openly ruining any chance scum would try to do anything to him. Oromagi has basically thrown away the utility of his role.

@drafterman
And how did you rule out “dumb” town?
Because oromagi is brilliant. And I've never seen him make mistakes like these in the games I've played with him, much less two in a row that are so obvious a relative newbie like me could pick up on them.

@drafterman
If you believe he’s lying, then it’s not the case that he “exposed his role to the detriment of town.”
Well, yeah.
I'm trying to say it's illogical from a town perspective. It only makes sense from a mafia one.
