Is it Racist to Not Date a Particular Race?
-->
@Theweakeredge
To you and your taste in who you date, I could say that's true based on how passionately you assert that. For others it's not as if race isn't a factor in their taste.

This isn't about white supremacy alone, many Indian, Chinese, African, South American and such families and communities 'keep it in the race' even though they've all had exposure to other races by now.

Equally, what about people who 'mix with other races' and never date their own. There are black-and-white mixes where a partner exclusively dates and fucks only that other race.

Trump was a good president?
Trump was unique because typically very bad presidents had a likability and charisma about them that let them get away with what they did.

Take Ronald Reagan or Bill Clinton, for instance, they have a swagger and it was how they won over the audience. George W. Bush had a similar tactic to Trump, play dumb and talk like you're educate 3x less high-class than you were, so that the working class root for you despite you not giving a shit about them

Trump wasn't necessarily able to pull this off with charisma attached to it, whereas Bush was. Trump was a knucklehead appealing to an anger in people, as opposed to a seeking of charm in people. His brand of 'bad' presidency is unique because it had barely any likability about it. People who 'like' Trump merely like his agenda, very few people like him as a person and character. Ironically, when he was elected, it was the other way around. People who loathed his stated agenda voted him because they liked the cartoon-like character he portrayed, he lost this within the first year and altered his act terribly. The defeat he received is entirely his fault, he alienated the moderates while appealing more and more to the angry fringes.

@Theweakeredge
how is denying to date a particular race less racist than denying to date a particular gender (or sex, really, since rarely is one trans-inclusive in their sexuality if they aren't pansexual) is sexist?

No it's not entirely distinguishable. There are males with personalities that are great, doesn't mean you have any right to coerce a lesbian to be open to dating him in order to prove she's openminded to males. Do you not see the resemblance?

There are actually biases and prejudices we actively encourage people to have when dating (even legally) agism, specisism and ablism are three of the main ones.

Not really, unless it's sexism to be non-bi-non-pan-sexual (hetero, homo or asexual mainly).

Denying someone employment based on their race (excluding acting opportunities where the role requires a certain racial build on the actor's face and body) is objectively racist because employment is a direct career blocking thing, they can't climb up in society fairly if they can't gain employment as easily as other races.

Denying someone a date or monogamous relationship with you alone is, in impact, not racist if you understand what systemic racism actually is and how individuals end up perpetuating it. It's not up to you force yourself to enjoy a type you're not into my sexually and it's actually akin to asking a homosexual to be into the opposite gender if you demand that one need date and engage in sexual encounters with a race they don't want to.

Of course there would, UBI only goes by income, not assets. It also neither factors in willingness to find employment nor skills and/or needs.

Also, the entire system is unfair on those older adults who are/were working class towards lower middle class that specifically saved money and suffered through decades (or around a decade at least) living with bare minimum, in order to retain it at a high interest rate and decent amount, just to realise they didn't need to as UBI would hit their nation anyway.

@Double_R
I say 'racist attitudes' because racism is, in the end, a systemic issue not an individualistic approach issue. An individual can be racist in action when being violent, hiring/firing based on race, bullying so on and so forth but in selectively dating on an individual level one can't truly be racist, they can have racist attitudes.

Too many people are concerned with calling people racist, transphobic, homophobic etc. This can be true if that person has genuine authority and/or capacity to influence others and abuses it with a bigoted agenda. On the other hand, if someone merely has an opinion that somewhat is discriminatory but in action isn't really hurting anyone, we need to use the term 'something-ist attitude(s)' to describe their outlook and mentality. This also helps us find middleground to agree with the person and convince them otherwise.

Whether you have racist attitudes or not, approach the topic with the intent to either find middleground with people or not bother to hash out a long forum discussion with them. Nothing at all positive comes from extended conversations where both are intending to brutalise the other into caving in to their side, especially not on an Internet forum (where there's less motive to reconcile afterwards or have any positive outcome).

I think you are confused with who I was replying to and the context of the Socialism discussion.

As for UBI, it's nothing more than a patchwork quick fix to a much deeper issue. Social Democracies don't use UBIs, Norway and Finland dipped their toes in and both reject it because they realised that their welfare system as well as public services are so well done that UBI actually was only beneficial to those that 'gamed the system' by hiding their wealth in assets.

I have an issue with communism and 'pure socialism' even in theory, not just practise.

There is not an issue with the notion of the capable providing for the needy, instead the issue is with how we go about doing it (even in theory). Who has the needs that matter more when resources are limited and who has the abilities that they should be forced to utilise?

How do you value art and subjective things like 'good food' in your RBE?

It's not just murder, it's a hate crime to be clear. I am not sure what the fuck this thread is about, as I said in my previous post I don't comprehend wtf this OP is even regarding.

If someone is dying and you murder them, you are still a murderer unless it comes under the legal definition of euthanasia and this was not even close to euthanasia, which is irrelevant under US law regardless.

What happened was disgusting and a lot more has to change than just one officer getting convicted, this is a bare minimum requirement for the progress.

Is it Racist to Not Date a Particular Race?
It's ethnocentric but not inherently racist.

There are even neonazis and rednecks that aren't particularly racist (which is linked to superiority complex and denial of essential things and trade to other races) but instead they are ethnocentric; they just believe in 'keeping it in the race' when it comes to sex and love.

If you would date all races except one, that's probably due either to racist attitudes or childhood trauma with someone of that race.

The reason you can't truly be racist and only be ethnocentric based on this thread's topic is because the denial of dating you as an individual isn't equivocal to denying a race equal rights and career opportunities (which are the two primary branches of racism when denied). You're not special enough or supreme enough to be something that when denied to date to another race is justifiably 'racist' in impact.

So... practically speaking? Not partiuclarly. In terms of what Easter means, yes - Christians did steal Easter
They did the opposite. They stole the practise (well imitated it) and made their own meaning.

yes, what you wrote earlier was the opposite way around. That is why polytheist witch was confused and disagreed with your worded statement that the meaning was stolen.

@Theweakeredge
Pagans are much more disconcerted about Christmas being stolen from Nordic Paganism and rebranded as a celebration of Christ's birth (which couldn't possibly have been in the winter given how the weather and environment were described, winter is a very rainy/cloudy and chilly season in Israel yet it was described as being clear skies, warm, shepherds out with sheep with no issue regarding rain or cold winds).

Easter has never really been a thing Christians had beef with Pagans about (or vice versa) so polytheist witch is accurate.

You said they stole the meaning but not the tradition. She corrected you saying its the opposite way around and overall no stealing happened other than the idea of eggs being sacred, the bunny has an even more complex origin and that was Pagan too but not entirely.

Just move to the South. We sure as hell aren’t going to enforce the passports. Feds can come and guard every state border if they want. Good luck to them
The 'south' don't enforce much at all, especially not welfare, food or basic heating to households.

Great pride in your lack of enforcement, fantastic achievements have happened due to it.

@ILikePie5
Why can't you just depend on the government like a good soldier?
For the same reason liberals don’t wanna harbor illegals in their homes
During Nazi Germany this exact thing happened (the opposite way around) and it was proven what the Left stands for when the Far-Right take the reigns. Similar things happened in South Africa during Apartheid and other such scenarios elsewhere. The Left Wing do indeed harbour illegal immigrants or any ethnicity deemed 'unworthy of equal citizenship and rights' when the Right Wing begin/began to brutalise them.

Until the immigrants/foreigners are being brutalised, the risk vs reward of doing so isn't generally worth it, since it is indeed a technical crime.

If you murder someone who is going to die, such as a hospital patient... You just murdered someone.

What kind of shit is this? You think the policeman committed euthanasia instead? It's almost hilarious if it wasn't so disgusting.

Canada Requires You To Go To Government Facilities For COVID Positive Patients
-->
@Vader
Trudeau is a fantastic leader in many respects, it's why the Right Wing dislike him so much.

As for this particular thing, it's being done in many nations. The government-forced lockdown placed on those coming into the nation in many nations is being done via government-owned hotels (a new thing, they paid the hotel to control it) where they force you to stay lockdown in a hotel room for some time, most make you pay for the room though which has been an issue for people who hadn't planned for that cost while leaving the country.

The only difference in Canda is it's a specially built facility, it would seem.

There are many GOATs depending on your ranking system. Danielle is one of the GOATs as is Whiteflame. Thett3 is also a strong contender.

I would never rank Raisor as a GOAT but Bluesteel could be a contender depending what you look for in a debater. He had his niche(s) and within them, he dominated very well.

RoyLatham is one of the only right wing debaters that I truly admired on DDO. He has that Jordan Peterson combination about him, intellect with cynicism in a strangely enchanting mix.

Oromagi and Ramshutu were nothing much on DDO but they are here. Ragnar is a category just below GOAT imo because he is too reserved with his fights/opponents/situations.

How many people want to be lawyers on this site?
-->
@zedvictor4
@TheUnderdog
What Zedvictor4 is referring to is the lack of a comma before 'on'.

How many people want to be lawyers on this site?

vs

How many people want to be lawyers, on this site?
However, I would defend the lack of a comma because the ultimate way to phrase it with the same words in a properly arranged manner is this:

On this site, how many people want to be lawyers?
The issue now becomes the 'on this site' wording.

The lawyer itself isn't what is 'on this site' instead the pool of candidates is.

Thus, I'd word it as follows:
Who, on this website, wants to be a lawyer?
This is the closest way to perfectly grammatically structure the original question while barely altering the wording.

The Cold War was similar. It benefitted nobody in the long run, Russia is owned by deeply corurpt kleptocrats now and all other nations like Cuba amd VietNam only suffered, not benfitted from the Cold War. The only nation where people were freed properly from tyranny was Cambodia and that was just luck from America's perspective.
