the more I see, I can not see a defense for their actions/inaction , absolutely horrifying and yet these citizens will continue to vote for people who will expand every level of government and increase their authority/power.

keep um poor, unemployed, bad schools, dependent on the government and you have a pretty good voter base at your mercy right?

at first I thought the cop murdered him, however the guy actually died at the hospital but they haven't said from what. the report was he drunk or high. I haven't seen what lead them to put their hands on him, not sure if that video even exists. If he was on something like pcp then maybe that was appropriate I don't know. Did they think he might bang his head/face on the ground? I dunno. If you can say "I can't breathe" that means you actually can. There's a lot of information and context missing but I see they are already guilty until they are proven innocent.

force? no, encourage or reward, possibly. HIV rates in prisons are quite high, probably hepatitis etc as well. I'd be ok with a small reward for donating (those who could) an extra hour of tv or some such thing. Also anyone who dies in prison should be an automatic organ donor. (again provided they aren't diseased etc)

Trump has gotten people so used to politicians saying insane, stupid things.
Trump is insensitive, a braggart, exaggerator etc This is not the same as the stupid things Biden has said and says. The fact that Biden doesn't catch what he says until much after the fact should be alarming to everyone. To misspeak and immediately or quickly correct it is one thing, but it sure seems someone has to point it out to Biden since the apology/correction comes much much later.
IMO the stuff Trump says which I don't like, 90% + he knows full and well what he is saying but doesn't care. Biden, however doesn't know what he is saying.

it's because the republicans are worse.Republicans tend to go out of their way to hurt black people.
such as?
Trump has pointed out historically low black unemployment, criminal "justice" reform, seems he's not very good at being a racist.

currently I'm up 8.63% (ish) on about $3,700 one lot of bbby stock is up 64% which sounds great until you see that amounts to a gain of $55 :) I'm really enjoying this learning process, wish I knew a lot more about it than I do, wish I knew then what I know now...... Hopefully things continue. the capital gains tax for stocks owned less than a year is horrible unless it skyrockets and looks like it will tumble back down. Lots to factor in. One thing is certain, you need to have money to make money.

that's not comedy, that's frustration, anger, and patronizing.
exactly, the democrats have always assumed they had total control over a certain demographic and those votes were guaranteed no matter what they did, didn't do, say or not say. The thought that blacks would think for themselves and not vote democrat is repugnant to Biden.
super predator, hot sauce the list goes on and on, why the majority still vote for them I just don't understand.

Jobs and criminal justice reform. There's plenty of reasons why Biden would be terrible for blacks/everyone. Obviously Biden thinks they are mindless drones that vote as a monolith, which is disrespectful at best, but then again that's pretty much been the m.o. of the democratic party for a long while. They assume and expect their votes without doing anything to actually earn them.

the link you provided did not say why they didn't have i.d., what "not readily available" ment and much other context that would be needed for me to take it seriously.
I don't know what each state's driver's license programs are like, so I wouldn't be able to answer this conclusively.
let me rephrase, have you ever learned something on your own, aka self taught? could someone self learn to drive or someone else teach them how to without actually getting a license?
According to an AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety study, “18.2% of fatal crashes involved a driver who was unlicensed or invalidly licensed; these crashes resulted in the deaths of 21,049 people.”
“Studies indicate that about 75 percent of problem drivers continue to drive regardless of the sanctions imposed, which include administrative action to remove their privilege to drive and criminal penalties such as fines and incarceration.”
I find your faith in the government disturbing.

As many as 7% of United States citizens – 13 million individuals – do not have readyaccess to citizenship documents. Seven percent of the American citizens surveyedresponded that they do not have ready access to U.S. passports, naturalization papers, orbirth certificates.2 Using 2000 census calculations of the citizen voting-age population,this translates to more than 13 million American adult citizens nationwide who cannoteasily produce documentation proving their citizenship.3
that's from your link, I stopped there since whatever questions they used seemed loaded, not to mention there is no reason as to why or if they could get the documents if they really wanted to etc.
I don't care what excuses they use to give law breakers driver's licenses because they are b.s. and I can't believe you would even try to pull that, can you be trained or practice to do something without a license? ffs how many people drive without one now?
regardless of all that you seemed to ignore what they are trying to do, their intent, of course they aren't going to make it obvious and they are going to do it a little at a time just like what they try to do with the 2a.

so you agree blacks can't get i.d.s or have internet access? because the argument against voter i.d. from the democrats says that.....so which is it? which one is correct to either allow or disallow voter i.d. laws because blacks can't get i.d.s.
House votes to support illegal immigrant voting in local elections
regardless of what has passed or the veiled meaning of what they are saying and attempting to do, it's the thought that counts as the saying goes, it sure seems to be their intent.
as you will notice most accept a driver's licence as i.d.
States Offering Driver’s Licenses to Immigrants
huh looks like democrat states doesn't it......again the intent can't be denied and should be obvious to everyone.

2. He doesn't care

Why Biden would say such a thing.

@Dr.Franklin
@PressF4Respect
they both are mailed afaik, however there is a process to get an absentee mail-in and I'm not 100% sure what the plain old mail-in is actually referring to. Since many democrats say it's racist to require i.d. to vote or prove citizenship because blacks can't get i.d. don't have internet access etc (according to them) I would guess it would be just a mail-in ballot than anyone could get without any proof etc, hence the fraud concern.
Created:
-->
@PressF4Respect
so if he said
"Absentee ballots are a great way to vote for the many senior citizens, military, and others who can't get to the polls on Election Day."
Absentee voting (aka “mail-in voting” and “by-mail voting”) is conducted by mail-in ballot before the day of Election Day. All states will mail a ballot to voters if certain conditions are met. The voter may return the ballot in person or by mail.
then your claim
"Very clear here that Trump is against mail-in voting."
doesn't appear accurate does it?
which is why I said
"it's very clear he's against fraud"
Created:
-->
@PressF4Respect
Very clear here that Trump is against mail-in voting.
it's very clear he's against fraud, if the fraud could be eliminated would Trump then be against mail-in voting? so is it "very clear here that Trump is against mail-in voting?" or just your tunnel vision bias?
Dummycrats don't think people should have to show i.d. to vote or even be alive so yeah the current systems they are attempting I am against because of fraud, you should be as well.

the position of U.S. president can give a sitting president great power. But it has to be used and used correctly. For instance trade deals and not getting into pointless wars. In many ways Trump has used that power wisely if you look at foreign dealings. If the position of U.S. president is to have any power/authority it make the country first priority not globalism. (imo)
the dependence on medicines and medical products from other countries should terrify ever citizen.

it's definitely a bizarre situation. I wouldn't have ran around the truck, I would have ran off to the right, to the trees. A truck parked like that, in that spot.....nope I would have either gone back in the direction I came or off to one side or the other. Yeah yeah people will say, that he shouldn't have needed to etc, yup that's true but doesn't make him any less dead does it. Pulling on the business end of any firearm is at best a stupid idea. This is not to blame the victim but rather people need to be alert and educated to avoid situations like that. The dad was in law enforcement so he did know what they were doing wasn't legal, actually law enforcement CAN plead ignorance of the law, actually they call it mistake/mistaken.
tbh anyone owning land and building something should have no trespass signs up, if someone gets hurt on your property......
An "attractive nuisance" is something on your property that draws children in but threatens them with harm. These types of things can be considered a premises liability. A premises liability is when you allow a dangerous condition to occur on your property. These are under the umbrella of personal injury law.
Attractive nuisances can include a wide range of elements, from construction projects and power tools to swimming pools
If the homeowner didn't care if people went onto the construction site why did he have cameras, and cameras that alerted him when someone was on his property? They might have a case against the homeowner also for creating the situation by not posting no trespass signs.....I bet a jury would award the family money.
Anyway I don't see a murder conviction or a hate crime. Amazing how it's instantly a hate crime. So many violent crimes are done out of love and not hate?

you took the time and effort to post what you did, to the extent that you did, which you have the right to do. Whether here or on the other site, I have never, ever seen that done before, ever, why? because no one cares, no one takes it that seriously. If it was a formal debate then sure, but this is the forums. If you want to make that kind of effort go for it, just don't be surprised when no one cares.

Isn't the prosecutor asking for hate crime charges? (that's b.s. anyway but a different discussion)
Colion Noir did a video about this (he's a lawyer) In Georgia going into a house being built is not a crime. Based on the video footage see so far Abrey did not commit any crimes, no legal citizens arrest could be made. However he sees someone one who saw him and then runs. If he is an active jogger/runner ok, but since he is seen running from the house it doesn't really appear he was jogging, but maybe he was. Regardless they had no legal right to detain Abrey if that is what they intended. Afaik there were 2 shots from the shotgun as they struggled over it. If more evidence comes out perhaps we'll know more and have a better understanding, time will tell. They will not receive the punishment they really deserve imo but that's an unfortunate part of our imperfect system. Even the most extreme punishment can't replace him or heal his loved ones.

what if we take out emotion?
is this another "hands up don't shoot"?
many many yet to be answered questions.
that aside it's horrible whenever anything like this happens to anyone.
this will not end in a murder conviction, manslaughter at best, though some kind of negligence is probably more realistic.

it doesn't mean that humanity polluting the air is not a massive problem.
correct, the general point is arguing climate change is just dumb because it was global warming, many predictions were/are wrong etc.
Now, imagine if you told someone the pollution particles are x ppm and when it reaches x+y it can trigger asthma or cause lung damage etc and here are the studies for cities in Kommyfornia. Pretty hard to argue against that imo. Same can be done with water. Are you familiar with the Love Canal? This sort of pollution is nothing new, though most of the incidents haven't been nationwide but those are documented, explainable and could be extrapolated.
Even Trump says we need the cleanest air and water we can get. I'm not sure his actions have addressed that yet but he's certainly said it a few times.

I have a 401k so I'm just really playing around, even gambling. The stocks I have purchased I watch daily because it's entertainment for me. There are a couple that aren't doing so well right now but others that are. I've purchased about 2600 dollars in stocks. My goal is to keep them for at least a year, unless they go way up (like double). Some of my stocks normally pay a decent dividend. Given everything that has happened I'm bargain shopping hahaha
I'll have to re-educate myself on etfs, I transferred the bulk of my savings to my brokerage account because I was getting so little interest keeping it in the bank. Even if the money just sits in my account I'll be getting better interest and still maintaining liquidity.

pretty sure I read it on investopedia, there are many theories of course. I read it a long while ago but I think the gist of it was you would sell off 5 for profits and hold 5 for potential long term gains depending on what your plan was and how the stock did. again it was a long time ago I read it, but I did read because I'm not that clever to make something like that up :)

that's a bit out of my price range, from everything I've read you should purchase stocks in lots of 10. I did buy some bbby a while ago for 4.40 it was up 75% at one point which equaled a profit of $180 :) not exactly life changing but mainly I'm doing it for fun/learning.

I find it a bit.....odd that we didn't use what we already knew about viruses or is it virui?
The Reason for the Season: why flu strikes in winter
1) During the winter, people spend more time indoors with the windows sealed, so they are more likely to breathe the same air as someone who has the flu and thus contract the virus (3).
2) Days are shorter during the winter, and lack of sunlight leads to low levels of vitamin D and melatonin, both of which require sunlight for their generation. This compromises our immune systems, which in turn decreases ability to fight the virus (3).
3) The influenza virus may survive better in colder, drier climates, and therefore be able to infect more people
2) Days are shorter during the winter, and lack of sunlight leads to low levels of vitamin D and melatonin, both of which require sunlight for their generation. This compromises our immune systems, which in turn decreases ability to fight the virus (3).
3) The influenza virus may survive better in colder, drier climates, and therefore be able to infect more people
within the last few weeks they have admitted that sunlight cuts down on the survival time of the covid virus, but didn't we already know that since that's pretty much true for every virus? yet so many outdoor spaces have been closed, but closed up indoor stores are ok, doesn't that seem inconsistent with what has been known?
it's ok for a cashier to encounter many people in a day, often incorrectly wearing a mask, but not ok for a doctor, dentist, tattoo parlor etc to see just a couple of people a day using proper precautions?
these "inconsistencies" are more than a knee jerk response to such a surprise event imo especially after all the time that has passed and what we know.
it does seem that covid is more contagious than other types of viruses, though I'm not really convinced yet on the fatality rate.
the really scary part is we as a society are not learning about infection control as we should, the nursing homes are a pretty good example of that. every level of government could educate, promote and empower everyone to adopt a lifelong habit of infection control but I haven't seen that at all. This would also cut down on flu etc.
is covid a lie, yes and no, are the conspiracies wrong, yes and no.
Created:
Posted in:

@Singularity
I think it is very contagious but not as deadly as the media makes out to be. What we have learned however is the infection control in nursing homes is horrible as well as NYC or pretty much any other crowded place. Imagine for a moment if you will, I have the flu, how easily could I spread it in someplace like NYC if I wanted to? Hopefully we as a society will learn from this and practice better hygiene and infection control, but I doubt it. I imagine I'll be running the covid tests along with the flu this coming season so we'll see and I'll have a better personal opinion then.
btw there is little to no talk on the lab facebook pages I follow.

The incentive to work is to get enough money to survive
it's funny you say that, in my immense boredom I watched a really bad movie, however there was one conversation the main character had that was interesting.
In this futuristic movie many people send their day in a massive v.r. server (some spend half their time in the real world), kind of like the movie "Ready Player One" However everything is a ghetto except for the 3 or 4 large corporations that run everything (and the government). There is a U.B.I. scheme which gives people enough money for food, rent and internet. In the conversation he asks how they can afford the ubi etc, the reply is basically, because of the sedentary lifestyle, low quality food leading to obesity the average lifespan is 40.
I'm not sure it's that far off from reality, I could easily see that becoming a reality.
Created:

@fauxlaw
if you save and earn a little interest, like I do, you are taxed on it, naturally, there is no real incentive to save and actual reasons not to, that could be changed and would help things like social security etc, but that would mean people would be more independent and less dependent on the government and we can't have that now could we.
Imagine if you were taxed when money was actually spent? I earn about $40 a month interest, bfd, but of course I'm taxed on it. This is money I have set aside to for a down payment on a home (if I ever find one) Which then will be taxed etc.
the more self sufficient and independent people are the less government they need. If you keep that in mind when looking at economic type things (most of what Sanders was peddling) you can see why something are the way they are.
Created:

@fauxlaw
Covid is racist now you know, it disproportionately affects blacks, however as you probably know blacks are also disproportionately obese and diabetic, but let's not talk about, let's talk about covid.
the sad part is covid is new, obesity and diabetes is not, that should be a huge red flag as to how much people actually care and are concerned about others health.
I got a bit of a laugh when I heard Ophra was talking about how covid was disproportionate. You'd think if a billionaire with her influence and money really gave a shit she would have (long ago) addressed and trying to find a solution to the very things that make them disproportionately vulnerable.
