I don't. I'm completely in favor of nationalized health care.
What makes you conservative then?  Conservatives are fiscally libetarian, ie get the government out of everything economic.

Very few republicans support universal healthcare.  60% in US say health care coverage is government’s responsibility | Pew Research Center states only 12% of republicans support a universal healthcare approach.

@Intelligence_06
There are many things that will save more people that shouldn't be done because it is needlessly big government.  Some examples are:

1) Making the speed limit on the highway 10 mph.  30,000 people die from car accidents a year.  This does not mean we should prevent car accidents with extreme authoritarianism.

2) Making organ donation mandatory.  8,000 people die from a lack of organ every year.  Does this mean we should mandate organ donation to save these lives?

3) Making sponsoring 3rd world children mandatory.  3 million 3rd worlders die of starvation every year.  Does this mean we should be forced to sponsor a child through our tax dollars to save their lives?  No.

Just because something saves lives does not mean we should enact authoritarian policies to save those lives.

Annually, the stock market rises about 10% annually.  An 8% wealth tax causes the stock market to only rise by 2% a year.  This would cause many people to sell their stocks in search of investments with better returns.  This causes the stock price to fall even more.  If the annual return falls below 0%, everyone sells all of their stock, which causes a depression that the rich probably will use to buy stock cheaply.  Congratulations, since the government stuck its long nose into the economy, you have caused the typical stock owner to be deprived of their stock.

The only way the government could make a profit is by selling the stock, which would cause the stock market to lose almost all its rate of growth which causes people to want to sell their stocks soon which causes the stocks to fall even more which causes more people to sell their stocks which causes a depression.

Why I don't think now is the time to colonize space
Space is extremely toxic for humans to live in.  You can't grow food on the surface of Mars because of the lack of atmosphere and the lack of water.  Colonizing space sounds more of a suicide mission than colonizing Antartica.  I think colonizing Antartica is easier than colonizing any planet or moon besides earth.

Antarctica has:

1) An atmosphere that humans can breathe.
2) Relatively mild temperatures.  The average temperature on Antarctica is 14 degrees Fareheight on the coast.  The average temperature on the surface of Mars is -80 degrees Farenheight (What is the Temperature on Mars? | Space).  Deviations from this temperature are also less on Antarctica than they are on Mars.
3) Proximity to the United States that Mars doesn't have
4) Ample supply of H20.  We can get as much water as we need form Antartica.  This is not true for Mars.
5) A supply of fish, penguins, and seals that can be used for food.  Mars doesn't have this.

Because of these reasons, humanity should colonize and develop Antartica and humanity should build cities in Antartica before Humanity is to colonize another planet.

Is that trials being open to public viewing, knowledge seems better than being behind closed doors.
The media can only give the public knowledge on certain things.  Knowledge in random trials means ignorance in bills being passed by congress, and ignorance in random trials can (if used ideally) lead to knowledge in bills being passed by congress.  I don't care what happens to Derek Chavan that much.  I care about what bills congress is passing and the contents of these bills.

But there are also occurrences in which injustice is preformed by the ruling government to rid itself of dissidents.
This isn't happening right now.  If congress was to make a bill that geocoded any ideological group, that should make the news, and there should be a revolution at that point.

No trial should be televised.  It causes justice to be unfair for the defendant, as it causes people to enact mob rule on the defendant.  Televised trials lead to more innocent people facing punishment.  The news should broadcast bills that congress people pass and their basic summary so people can hold their politicians accountable.  Thoughts?

Joe Biden's recent release of migrants included some who had tested positive for COVID19, this has lead to numerous complaints suggesting that this is dangerous and goes to show how little Biden cares about real Americans. These complaints of course come from the same flock who have spent months railing against mask mandates, social distancing measures, and drawing comparisons to the flu implying that COVID is no different. But suddenly, now that brown people from Mexico are carrying it, we're all of a sudden worried about COVID?

Good point.  Either Covid is dangerous or it isn't.

Depends on the issue.  On LGBT issues, the right now was where the left was about 10 years ago.  On immigration, the left was where the right was about 20 years ago.  On taxes, what was American tax policy at the height of the cold war would be considered Bernie Sanders left today.  On gun rights, America has gone to the right(more states have constitutional carry now).  On drug legalization, America has gone to the left.  Abortion laws have gotten more strict.  I'd say America is more right wing overall now than it was 30 years ago.

Because moments, individuals, actions identified, can gain a celebrity statues, by that I mean they gain the interest of the people.
This is only because the news shoves it down our throats.  The typical person buys into it and bases their entire ideology off of what's in the news, even if in the grand scheme of things, what the news is broadcasting isn't relevant for people's lives.

Because some view the trial, not as an individual on trial, but as America on trial, and in either decision will people be upset.
This is only because the news has been so obsessed with it.  Murders should not make the news.  Bills made by politicians should make the news, because that gives our politicians incentive to not be curropt pieces of shit.

I plan on accepting the results of the jury.  I don't think Floyd's death should be national news anymore.  I don't think any murder should make national news at all.  Instead, I think Biden's policies should be what makes the news, and the bills presented by representatives and senators make the news of their district or state.  Then people will be more informed so they could vote out politicians who make bills they don't like.

Define, "Progressive".  If it means "progressing" from the status quo(I prefer the word "change" because I don't like euphemisms like the word, "Progress"), then most Republicans want to do that on abortion and NAFTA(they want to change that).

Progressive now just means leftist.  The GOP probably will never be the leftist party.  Otherwise, what does it mean to be GOP at that point?

My main concern with a wealth tax
-->
@thett3
That said it does bother me that there’s essentially a wealth tax on the middle class via property taxes! My property taxes are so high that I basically pay two mortgages, but the mega billionaires can see their wealth steadily grow and only realize taxes when they sell.
I don't think property tax should exist and the things property tax funds should be funded with a sales tax and a capitol gains tax.

It’s better to focus on helping future wealth be captured more equitably through progressive taxes
The rich don't pay huge sums of income tax.  An income tax discourages workers from being productive as it fines people for making money basicly.

pro worker reforms like ending outsourcing
This can be done through tax cuts and repealing the income tax, the position backed by Rand Paul and Jessie Ventura.

not requiring incredibly expensive college degrees to do anything, etc.
College shouldn't be pushed on people whom don't want a job that requires college.  All college degrees should be for the purpose of finding a better job with a goal in mind(don't get a college degree just for the sake of getting one.  If you get one, it should be for a job you want after college).

Indonesia is a US ally and was a key pro-US ally i the cold war, especially a factor in the south east asia wars
Syria is also overwhelming majority Muslim.  They got destroyed when the US bombed them a lot and now they hate the US over it.  Even our allies don't think we should be involved bombing the middle east for oil.

ISIS has killed 30,000 civilians.  America has killed 300,000 civilians in the middle east.  America is getting into huge amounts of debt fighting these wars.  That money can go towards a tax cut or paying off the debt.  If America isn't to give foreign aid to other countries, we shouldn't be bombing them in the first place.

I don't think any of the parties are 100% consistent

@Double_R
The abortion debate is about who has the greater right to a woman’s body, the child or the mother?
The abortion debate is freedom(for the woman) vs safety (for the unborn child).  It is about choice (for the woman) vs life (for the child).  In this context, choice and freedom are synonymous, and safety and life are synonominous.

Pro gun safety is about recognizing that your right to a firearm increases the danger to those around you.
The gun debate is is freedom(for the gun owner) vs safety (for everyone around him).  It is about choice (for the gun owner) vs life (for everyone around him).  In this context, choice and freedom are synonymous, and safety and life are synonominous.

This is like arguing that criminals shouldn’t go to jail because the victim is already dead, so all it does is increase the pain.
Many liberals believe in Scandinavian justice, which is to punish the murderer as little as possible while making sure he isn't a threat to society anymore.

Should Rosanne Barr have lost her entire show over one joke? No probably not, but it does set a tone that this kind of disrespect towards black people is unacceptable, that is a clear attempt to reduce pain.
It doesn't reduce pain since she lost her show and has to maybe go on welfare because of a joke she made.  This causes way more pain that the amount of pain a black person received from a joke about black people, as this pain is temporary, short lived, and honestly, less intense than losing your job.

My main concern with a wealth tax
-->
@HistoryBuff
if that were to happen, then that isn't a problem with a tax, it is a problem with the market. I.e. if the uber rich needing to sell a portion of their stocks causes the price of a stock to crash, then the stock was never worth that much to begin with. That is a market problem. So the tax would just be exposing a flaw that already exists.
If the stock of every company crashes, then our economy is destroyed and we go into a depression.

The "common man" doesn't own that many stocks. A large percentage of the population owns no stocks at all.
For that common man, they own stock with the assumption that it would go up, and if it crashes, they end up selling all of their stock, and you've basically destroyed $30 trillion worth of wealth in the country.

But then the increased revenue from the wealth tax can be used to help the "common man".
You've destroyed all the wealth.  If the government sells tens of billions of shares of stock all at once, there will be a huge influx of supply, which causes the price to plummet and the government gets pennies on the dollar of stock value.  They destroyed $30 trillion of stock value to get $300 billion in revenue.  And they destroyed the wealth, so they aren't going to be able to get revenue in the future.  At best, America goes into a depression.  At worst, the whole world does.  I imagine the latter scenario is more likely.

And that would help the "common man" far, far more than what that might lose when the stock market corrects itself.
The stock won't correct its self.  We would go into a depression and I don't know how we are going to get out of it.

A sales tax and a capitol gains tax would be used to fund the government.  A sales tax taxes the poor (less than what the poor currently pay in taxes) and a capitol gains tax taxes investors (people who are generally rich).  I'd say it evens out.

ISIS really was inevitable, IRAQ would have collapsed at some point, probably 20 years after the US
I don't think ISIS is inevitable because there are many very religious Muslim majority countries (like Indonesia) where the US hasn't bombed them endlessly and there is no terrorist organization there.  I think the US pulling our troops out of the middle east could turn Iraq into Indonesia, a religious Muslim majority country with no terrorist organization.

are you opposed to dropping bombs on ISIS?
I think the US presence in ISIS is causing more people to want to join ISIS.  ISIS has killed 30,000 people in the middle east.  This isn't good, but America has killed 300,000 people in the middle east.  From the perspective of any common middle easterner, they don't like ISIS, but they hate America (since we kill more people).  Because of that, they side with ISIS as they are the lesser of the 2 evils in their view.  If America stopped bombing civilians in the middle east, I think the middle east will turn on ISIS and the middle east can be free.

If America is going to give weapons to Saudi Arabia for their genocide in Yemen, we shouldn't be telling other places on how to have human rights.  It's like a fat person telling you to run 6 minute miles.

The Democrats goal is not big government. Democrats believe government is how we come together to solve our problems, and in many cases it’s the only institution that has that ability. If say everyone stops spending on the heels of an economic collapse, government is the only institution with the means and motivation to spend so we can mitigate the damage. When this is your view of government, naturally your policies will amount to a big government. But that is the effect, not the point.
So, democrats are willing to have big government in order to as you put it "mitigate the damage".  What is your definition of damage?  If your definition of damage is lost of life, then wouldn't the democrats be pro life as well?

Immigration is a complex issue, but most democrats don’t want less restrictions, we want humane ones.
Pretty much all the humane restrictions are already in existence.  Democrats tend to want less restrictions on immigration.

Owning a firearm puts the safety of everyone around you subject to your ability to carry it responsibly
So your saying the democrats are pro safety?  If so, then with few exceptions, being pro choice and pro safety are contradictions.  Pro choice means you have the freedom to do something.  Being pro safety means that you don't want people to be allowed to do something because it's too dangerous.  One could argue that abortions puts the unborn in danger, so if the democrats are pro safety, they would be against abortion.  (Assuming people were 100% consistent), being pro life would by synonymous with being pro safety, and being pro choice would be synonymous with being pro freedom.  Instead, we have the right being pro life/pro safety on abortion, and pro freedom/pro choice on guns, and we see the left being pro choice/pro freedom on abortions and pro safety/pro life on guns.  Can't people either be consistent or justify their inconsistency?

But beyond that, cancel culture is about holding people accountable for the pain that they’ve caused others. I personally think it’s gone way to far, but there is no inconsistency here.
I'm glad you think cancel culture has gone way too far.  However, cancel culture has caused more pain that it has reduces overall.  It has destroyed careers and made people sacrifice their pride to go on welfare (pretty painful) in the name of trying to reduce the pain that others have felt for a few seconds when they were offended.  If your an anti pain democrat, you ought to be against cancel culture because it produces more pain than it eliminates.

I say create a millionaires tax bracket, and seriously increase the estate tax.
I'd say repeal the income tax and replace it with a sales tax and a capitol gains tax.  Rich people barely pay anything in income tax since Jeff Bezos's annual cash salary is only around $80K a year(How Much Does Jeff Bezos Make a Second?  why would you think that? if the uber rich sell stocks, other people buy them. that is how the stock market works.
If the ultra rich sell their stocks, since the supply to demand ratio of stocks in the stock market would skyrocket, the price of the stock would plummet and if the stock market ceases to grow because the rich are spamming stock into the stock market, people lose their desire to invest and as a result, they end up selling their stock in masses to get the cash while the stock is still valued high.  If this happens, the stock loses the vast majority of its value, and then the rich might buy out all the stock cheaper, so congratulations, by trying to help the common man out, you instead have deprived them of all their stock's value.

If a billionaire selling a tiny fraction of his stocks tanks a stock price, then it wasn't actually worth the price it was selling for
I'm not sure how this is accurate.

Libertarians do not support public subsidies for nuclear energy.
Jo Jorgensen on Energy & Oil (ontheissues.org) states that Jo Jorgenson wants to get the government involved to replace fossil fuel plants with nuclear power plants.

Best of luck to you communicating with dead murder victims :)
You communicate with them while they are still alive.  This can be achieved by every year, people fill out a simple 1 question form that asks, "If someone murdered you today, how would you punish them?"  There would be some options available, and the people who are going to be murder victims in the future (before they get murdered), fill out the form.  Whatever their most recent response was, that answer determines the fate of the murderer if they were the only one murdered.

 1) Libetarians support nuclear power.  The party of choice believes people should decide their own energy sources and the government shouldn't pay for any nuclear power plants.  All nuclear power plants should be sold to private enterprises and the only people that should use nuclear energy are those that want to.

2) Libetarians oppose the death penalty.  The party of choice believes that murder victims should have the choice to put their murderer to death, or to keep the murderer alive.  This is consistent choice ethic.

I'd say this is more consistent.

A wealth tax taxes all of your wealth, and this includes stock.  Out of Jeff Bezos's $100 billion or so worth of assets, only around $2 billion of the assets are in cash.  The rest are mostly in stocks.  An 8% wealth tax (proposed by Bernie Sanders) would take all of Jeff Bezos's cash away from him and probably some of his stock as well.  Even if you impose a 2% wealth tax on people like Jeff Bezos and take away all his cash while leaving him with all of his stock, Jeff Bezos has all that cash for a reason that neither one of us know about.  If you take away his cash, he is going to sell huge amounts of stock to restore the cash the feds took from him, and this will slowly, but surely cause the stock market to lose some of it's annual growth, which causes less people to invest, which causes even less growth, and the cycle continues until we have a depression.

And why should I be forced to care for my neighbor?  That's just like making it mandatory for people to spend all their excess money on sponsoring children.  (As a metaphor) Taxation is Theft, just like someone stealing your money to pay for sponsoring 3rd world children is theft.

My main concern with a wealth tax
A wealth tax would destroy the stock market and the American economy.  Here is why:

Lets say you want to tax Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk at 8% of their wealth (what Bernie Sanders wants to do)(The Wealth Tax: Pros & Cons | taxlinked.net)

Most of their assets aren't in cash, but in stock.  Taking away 8% of their wealth probably involves taking roughly 8% of their stock as well.  If you do this, the government has a bunch of stock that they control.  The only way they can reasonably get money from this stock is if they sell the stock to the public in general.  If this happens, due to the supply to demand ratio of stock skyrocketing, this causes stock prices to plummet(since there is so much more supply for stock).

If the stock market ceases to go up, then people lose their incentive to invest.  If this happens, everyone is going to sell their stock all at once, and you've created a depression at this point and I don't see the depression ending anytime soon.  America does not deserve to be in a depression, and we would become a second or third world country at that point if the stock market gets destroyed because half the country owns stock and this half would lose pretty much all the value in your assets.  I would want to tell Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and any other advocate of the wealth tax that a wealth tax will make the rich less rich, but it will make every stock holder less rich as well, and it would cause the American economy to collapse if companies become worthless.

The wealth tax may have good intentions, but it leads to poor results.

Can't politicians be willing to change their minds and think outside of party lines?  I mean, there are a few politicians who are lockstep with their party on everything.  Most politicians vote against their party at least a few times and they still manage to win reelection.  If I manage to run for president and win, I'd want to make an executive order that prohibits politicians from running as a political party.  They have to run as an independent.  I want our politicians to think for themselves more than they do now, and they think for themselves a little bit, but I don't want them to feel like they have to be aligned with a party.

Communism is fiscally authoritarian, since it wants a 100% wealth tax and a 10)% income tax.

There are many different types of COMMUNISM (not all of them subscribe to an AUTHORITARIAN hierarchy).
AnCom is not small government, it is communism.  Ancom people want to abolish all private property and they want a 100% wealth tax and a 100% income tax.  They want the government involved with everything, while they advocate for no government.  Ancoms are an oxymoron.

VIGILANTE EXECUTION is MURDER.
The KKK killing 4000 black people is not as bad as a communist government killing 71 million people.

Not all KayKayKay factions (denominations) advocate for violence.

Not all KayKayKay factions (denominations) are responsible for the actions of some KayKayKay factions (denominations).

In the same way that not all Christians are responsible for the actions of Torquemada.
You punish the KKK people that commit violence in the name of their secular ideology, you punish the christians that commit violence in the name of their religious ideology, but given that most Klansmen and most christians don't want to kill anybody, live and let live.  Don't ban any political speech.

(IFF) you want to express your opinion without restriction (THEN) start your own debate website or create your own discord channel.
I don't know how to do this.

The mods can make whatever arbitrary rules they wish.
I don't think their rules are consistent and they should strive for consistency.

private entity restricting your speech is NOT a violation of the United States Constitution
There are 2 types of private entities; publishers and fourms.

Publishers can post whatever content they want, and they are responsible for their content.  If they say something that is victim producing, they can get sued.  PragerU is a publisher.  They don't have to allow left wingers to speak their mind.  Vox is also a publisher.  They don't have to let conservatives speak their minds.

Fourms have to be open for everyone to speak their minds.  If something objectionable gets said on the fourm, the site is not in trouble.

DART's moderators want the protections of a form while having the filtering/censorship powers of a publisher.  They can't get both.

Communism is the perfect utopian ideology.

But unfortunately communism is also a fundamentally flawed ideology, that fails to take human nature into account.
You judge an idea not by it's intentions, but by its results.
