Perceived usefulness and actually usefulness can be different - furthermore, if it isn't the truth of the matter then it doesn't matter - I suppose you could make a pragmatic argument; however Religion is overwhelmingly harmful to the rate of progress in the modern world

Its not "Horror" per se, more dread, its really good at getting the user, in my opinion, in feeling what the character you are playing as feels

Oh god, don't get me started - so - it's essentially a psychological horror game that's excellent at inciting dread in the user, and it also enjoys making the user suffer - I would explain it more - but honestly that would take me hours to write out - instead - I'll link you to an excellent video essay on the topic, and what drew me into the game
It's like 2 hours long, but if your interested it does a great job at explaining why its so amazing - and I don't think its the greatest at a gameplay level, I love the psychology of pathologic, and how much it subverts modern game tropes, especially RPG game tropes.

TLDR: We went a couple of rounds in showdown, I got destroyed, lol - I think we went 4-1 in Sum's favor (the one "win" on my side was actually a tie, lol)

What about the other 200 million people or so who didn't succeed? Are we just ignoring those people?
Created:

@fauxlaw
This is a little technique I like to call counting the hits and ignoring the misses:
- 9 out of 10 startups fail (source: Startup Genome - the 2019 report claims 11 out of 12 fail).
- 7.5 out of 10 venture-backed startups fail (source: Shikhar Ghosh).
- 2 out of 10 new businesses fail in the first year of operations (source: Bureau of Labor).
https://indicators.kauffman.org/indicator/startup-early-survival-rate - backs this up with a 78.8% start-up survival rate - that's the rate of businesses that don't crash and burn, not even the ones that become successful.
"The Rate of New Entrepreneurs of 0.31 percent means that310 out of every 100,000 adults became new entrepreneursin a given month. This number translates into approximately540,000 new business owners each month during the year."
That means that 108,000 people straight up fail right out the gate - this doesn't bring up at 5 years the survival rate is only half:
"About two-thirds of businesses with employeessurvive at least 2 years and about half survive atleast 5 years."
All of this is to say is that even these people aren't especially likely to succeed in America, how about upward economic mobility, surely there's gotta be a high chance of that, right?
"Increasingly, an individual’s chances in life are determined by their starting point (socio-economic status at birth, where they were born, etc.), resulting in economies and societies that too often reproduce rather than reduce historic inequalities. Across most socio-economic systems today—a person’s background often predetermines the level of education they will attain, the type of work they will do and the level of income they will earn. This “lock-in” from birth has consequences for growth, cohesion and innovation across societies. "
Wait, so its not just a thing that happens, its a thing that is happening more?
So no, those few examples persuade me of nothing aside from your ability to cherry pick - I expected a bit more. My conclusions don't come from my "inability to research", instead they come FROM my research

If they create something that isn't perfect, then they aren't perfect - it has nothing to do with "the right" to do something - it has to do with the definition of perfect

I probably would, I've only played gen 8 anything goes, but let me make a team and I'll give it a shot
Created:

@Dr.Franklin
If we were talking about something in general it wouldn't; however, because you are claiming the god to be perfect - that is exactly how it is - by definition something which if perfect can not improve, thus if they created something that could improve then they did not create something perfect, and thus weren't perfect in that aspect

The likelihood of an individual to reach a station that high in the highly oppressive environment that America is. There are of course the outliers, but that's similar to the few smokers who say, "I've smoked for years, not a single thing wrong with me." Look at that - much more constructive, although it shows a lack of comprehension -as I prefaced it before hand. Either give me the entire quote and account for it, or be ready for this to be a truly unproductive conversation
Created:

@RationalMadman
I think that is demonstrates the point that power leads to corruption - it is a basic psychological concept - whenever something is easier to obtain, it is used more, so whenever you have more power, you are more likely to use it - and the rush of never having that power before? That's whiplash. There is nothing semantic about that - just pure research, I would be more inclined to agree with you if you had anything to substantiate your claims

@fauxlaw
A poor environment does not make for a conducive one for learning - furthermore it makes such things as "ambition" not as valuable as other traits which would help them survive

@3RU7AL
And you have nothing constructive to add; how true to yourself
Created:

@RationalMadman
You are incorrect - research has shown the truth of the statement:
In his correspondence to Acton (1887/1906), Creighton wrote,I remember that in 1880 I met John Bright at dinner: he was very cross, apparently a cabinet meeting had disagreed with him. Amongst other things he said: “If the people knew what sort of men statesmen were, they would rise and hang the whole lot of them.” Next day I met a young man who had been talking to Gladstone, who urged him to parliamentary life, saying: “Statesmanship is the noblest way to serve mankind.” (p. 370)Our studies suggest that both politicians’ remarks regarding holding a high position in the social hierarchy may have merit. Holding a high position can be both corruptive and ennobling, and the overall effect may depend on which of these two opposing processes prevails.

Statistics do not support the claim that poor people who "work really hard" move up economically, that is a myth - furthermore statistics do not show downward trend in millionaires who do not work.

I would disagree; "power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely" giving people more money than anything they could have imagined will skew the results - masks, restraints ,and the whole lot are a key part of people's personalities.

@janesix
So essentially you blindly support the positions you agree with, and have no interest in actually fact-checking them? You furthermore seek to personally insult us instead of proving valid argumentation, quite interesting, and you call us the snowflakes.
If I didn't know better I'd say you were so scared of being wrong you won't even touch research, snowflake, eh?
Created:

@janesix
First of all a tu quo que does not exclude you from providing substantiation -
second of all the personal bankruptcy rate of America is more than I need to prove my case:
The homeless population:
And what I'm interested in most - wages:
"The median wage in 2019 is $19.33 per hour, which translates into about $40,000 per year for a full-time, full-year worker." ^
"The median necessary living wage across the entire US is $67,690. The state with the lowest annual living wage is Mississippi, with $58,321. The state with the highest living wage is Hawaii, with $136,437. Other expensive states (unsurprisingly) included New York and California, which have notoriously high costs of living and expensive housing markets." ^
Combined with the rate of inflation:
According to data published by the International Monetary Fund, the US Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 224.92 in 2011, compared to the base period of 1982 to 1984. It is projected that the CPI will continue to rise year over year, reaching 287.51 in 2024. The Consumer Price Index of all urban consumers in previous years was lower, and has risen every year since 1992, except in 2009, when the CPI went from 215.30 in 2008 to 214.54 in 2009. The monthly unadjusted Consumer Price Index was 255.55 for the month of April in 2019.
And you get a bunch of people who can't afford to live in the US

@3RU7AL
Um... no. First off, what is the need? I draw stylized characters, so I'm not inclined to; however, I can link you to a couple of examples of... well, far superior pieces than what you've shown.
Also... drawing toasters is not a very good counter-point to saying that the program is incapable of stylized drawing
Created:

@janesix
Everything? How about the necessity - people should take advantage of those. This is a red herring on your part, I never said to give the majority everything, I am arguing that they should get enough money to support themselves, and you have failed, after several attempts, of even coming close to justifying not giving them that. Furthermore, each time you post it is a bare assertion, with absolutely no substantiation to back it up. The most wealthy will continue to take advantage of their position, and make the rest of the country poorer as a result. They are the one's being superfluous not the majority
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@janesix
So you assert; however, you provide no substantiation that that is how it ought to be - you might as well be using a textbook naturalistic fallacy. Naturally, we all compete against others for food and water; however, it would make more sense that we just give everybody food and water, unless you believe that people at the top of the hierarchy ought to get more resources they need to live? Well, then I suppose you'd also be okay with dysgenics, hm?
Created:
Posted in:

@janesix
By the societal contract that everybody in society is afforded to - every citizen has an obligation to support the society that they live in with monetary support, and obey the laws which seek to help provide safety for the inhabitants; however, in return, the society must provide sufficient resources which people can live off of. In today's world, money is quite the resource, and our society is not providing enough of it to us - so much that most of it goes to an extreme minority towards the top - the whole "the top 1%" thing is actually descriptive of the monetary distribution of America - and you seem to not recognize this as a problem
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@janesix
Its a moral atrocity to restrict a person's wage below what they need to survive, the ability to not support the child comes from society's failure, not the other way around.
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@janesix
So you are arguing in restricting an entire demographic of people's reproductive rights rather than give them enough money to live on? How callous of you; furthermore, no, poor Americans do not have cigarettes nor x-boxes, at least not all of them - you have no statistical proof to claim such a thing, and the numerous homeless would attest that such a thing isn't true.
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@Reece101
The anecdotal experience of one is not enough to discount the queries of the plenty - furthermore, not everybody is in your same situation, there are some who have a family with only that wage - the fact of the matter is that saying, "I had it.. it was fine." Is not nearly enough to excuse the pitedly poor wage offered by America. It is mathematically not enough for people to live as they need to.
Created:
Posted in:

@Intelligence_06
That brings up a question: In what country? America? For sure, I'm not sure what the minimum wage is in other countries, but $7.50 an hour is much below the living wage.

@ronjs
I'm saying that he no proper authority scholarly nor ethically over any conclusions for any races. The conclusion: "White people are better than (insert oppressed race, most likely africans)" Then that conclusion is not properly informed, furthermore if he tried to say that white people were better than them in any category, then he would have no data to actually come to that conclusion, this is also bunk... so no, if made any conclusions regarding race in that effect - he would be to of league.... Now, if he had claimed that the difference in pigmentation happened because of geographic speciation of the human species, then that would have no effect on the social sphere... that's just the truth of the matter bud.
