Yes you can get a forum plugin for WordPress. If the point of my project was merely to obtain a forum I would use a WordPress plugin or go to a site that does it. I do have a discord I have not been active in and that is essentially a free forum building app.
It's funny I was watching a guy code a game engine the other day and he was getting the same questions.
For me it's not really about getting a quick result. It's not even necessarily about finishing. I am trying to learn some skills here and have fun

Honestly nobody knows. He is either Russian or somewhere near there and a lot of us want to know so we can make sure he is getting donations and being taken care of. All I know right now is that I want to give on Patreon but I feel like he probably isn't even getting what is donated so it's likely pointless.
The Russians also are having their servers attacked by Ukrain and due to Windows and Linux admins not being able to offer support for their servers, they are becoming extremely vulnerable really fast.

I worked on figuring out git hub mostly today but the sign up form is looking better. Will finish figuring out github tomorrow and then work on adding people to help if anyone is interested. My focus is on creating mini targets and getting things functional fasts so
stage 1- functional sign-up form
stage 2- functional profile pages
stage 3- Using myspace as an inspiration for them
stage 4- get private messaging figured out, hopefully figure out how to keep PMs encrypted at some point hopefully to the point where even experienced developers are incapable of decrypting them
stage 5 have forums figured out
slowly just get things moving.
For school I have to learn Python and mysql/PHP so most of this is stuff I have to figure out anyway.
If I am on my own I am sticking with bootstrap for design, but hopefully at some point a person gets on who cares about CSS a bit. I know the interface of most modern forums sucks, although this forum as well as DDO was good as far as functionality. I went to some alternate mafia sites and those were just difficult for me to stick around, due to their interface

Okay I am creating a new version of the website. We don't know when this one will take a shit on us and also there are other issues. LIke I don't want to promote the site if its disappearing randomly because "Mike" doesn't communicate with us. I am not even saying we use the site, only that it operates as a back up site.
We do have issues here though. The core members of DDO were smart, funny and cool people. The core people here are midwits and that is being generous and they will focus on shit like Orange man bad or whatever the conservative equivalent of that is, without ever actually debating ideals.
The project will be open source, once I figure out how to make it that way. That also means that if I ever do something stupid like allow users like Shila or best Korea to dominate discussions and further ruin the site or if I install Mods like David or BSH1 who choose to ban people for wrong think, you can simply fork the github repo and start a site with zero effort to take users away who don't value the principles we need to embody, which are freedom of thought without dipping into disresepect or into spamming.
Or hey if you like the disrespect or spamming, than just help me build the site out and then we will just fork it once complete to appeal to different audiences. anyway here is a video I am sure anyone who knows what they are doing will make fun of, but it shows how easy it is to start working on this project. I have to set up the editor to push to github and set up a github repository so we can work on this as a group.
I also feel like the audio is a bit low on the video. I am going to order a microphone to fix that but use captions if you have to, you probably won't but its there if you need it. Also if you are a developer give feedback please

So your solution to gun violence is remove guns, where is I would strengthen the family unit, institute criminal Justice reform that helps criminals become productive citizens and to end the gerrymandering of school districts so poor kids have just as much opportunities as those in wealthier area codes.

Also yes I was a top 5 debaters on DDO and I argued against those positions. Right now in my area liberals do propose to ban menthol cigarettes, gun bans are called for daily and fair enough with the homeless one but I have seen solutions proposed that come close to that.
I have seen conservatives however for mild gun control for increases in immigration but opposing open borders etc. if I see Republicans taking those moderate positions and leftists on campus taking extreme positions than how do you divide what is the difference between Republican and Democrat? Where is that exact dividing line?

About 90% of my posts are written on a subway train with little to no service, so I'm reluctant to put in the time commitment, otherwise I'd love to do more.
