A country like Nigeria has one of the freest markets on the planet, as does Bangladesh.
Yeah, it such a fee market that anyone opening a shop can be robbed consequence free by drug lords on a daily basis.

Both me and RM really wanted to win and had the capacity to win this election. It speaks a lot about the expectations we have for max and confidence in his ability to meet them.

I'm sure this was a very tough decision given your history with airmax and how many people wanted you to win. Thanks For leading leading in this capacity.

Yes, although the truth is I'm too much of a nerd to really get all that into sports and I don't own a tv.
I wish I didn't own one, but can't get the family on board. How long has this been the case?

I would suggest reading it in English and studying the words it was translated from when something catches your attention. It's also worth studying Jewish culture and the culture of the time as well as understanding the period of history where Israel was under Roman occupation.
Yes any Greek work translated to English will lose something in translation.
Nietzsche has been translated to English even more recently, and people familiar with German usually remind us that a lot is loss in translation. It doesn't mean that nietzches work, ancient Greek works or the Bible is useless.
Just read the emerald tablets of thoth or what remains of them. They are great works and a little pain in the ass to understand without the use of Google and the opinions of some scholars.
These things have value, but you Don't want to read to deep into them. So the general stories just like in the oddysey would be accurate as to the intended meaning when they were written, whether true or not. However when you start really digging into it, it might be hard to differentiate between actual inconsistencies and inconsistencies that are a result of how limited translations can be at showing the original meaning.

Why do you believe he is real and just misremembered? I assumed it was based on gospel eyewitnesses.

Thank you for the compliment. I have self esteem issues sometime that make it hard for me to accept compliments, because they challenge my view of myself.

You put out a valiant effort and a solid campaign.
This reads like you think I'm dropping g out because you assume I would lose. I wouldn't lose
I'm not saying airmax is the best for the site in an act of good sportsmanship. He is actually the best person for the job, period.

Another article it questions why harsh force would be used for a simple traffic violation. Ultimately the suspect determines the level of force an officer uses, more than the officer does. He resisted and they have to use the minimal force necessary to subdue him. Sometimes the most minimal force to over power somebody can get pretty brutal.
The cops can just let a person go for a simple traffic violation, merely because the guy is resisting and it would force them to use force. This means that we are giving assholes who refuse to cooperate with police, more rights than cooperative people. I Don't think you want to live in a society where the assholes have more rights than nice people

Yeah, your examples are dumb.
They are all pulled from reason also which has a clear libertarian bias and are twisting the actions almost as bad as liberals would.
For example the raid by 24 cops of the wrong house. Why would the cops be individually responsible ?
It's not their job to double check the warrant is for the correct address. They are are the grunts. Somebody above them fucked up and they had an order to enter that home. The police department as a whole should be liable in that lawsuit, not the grunts who were doing their job.
Possibly the judge should be at fault also.

Without qualified immunity, would we really hold cops responsible for violating constitutional rights when they acted in good faith?
Many laws have been found to be unconstitutional when challenged at a later date. Wouldn't a police officer who enforced those unconstitutional laws be made liable without qualified immunity?
Wouldn't that mean you requiring police officers to be constituitional scholars when let's be honest most have an IQ that is barely 3 digits. That's an unfair burden on them I would think.
I'm now going to take a look at your individual examples.

This probably comes as no surprise to anyone that I am dropping out and endorsing max. I have some criticisms of him as well.
The criticisms in the hammer's latest thread and pie's is not something that should be just dismissed and brushed under the rug.
I do believe though that despite his flaws, we have the same platform essentially and that max will be better at accomplishing similar goals and in fact will be in the perfect position to set himself up to help the site beyond that.
I think what the people that oppose max are missing is the good side of a max presidency. The negatives are obvious to them, but they miss that the positives will dramatically overshadow the negatives.
I ask those people to not just look at the negatives but weigh them against maxes positives

@Lunatic
This thread probably doesn't come across like you think it does. Even for the people that agree with you, this is just going to come across as inappropriate. It was nice to see you be the voice of reason on a ton of occasions when nobody else has, but this almost destroys the credibility of those instances where you were the sole voice of reason on the site.

Your ideal of fighting back is ludicrous. Everyone needs to take responsibility for their behavior. Whether a person is perceived as bullied or actually bullied, doesn't excuse them lashing out in immature ways.
If somebody has ban worthy behavior, it honestly shouldn't matter whether you view them as a prior victim or not.
I think your philosophy here is a kind of insight into your mentality.
I think you were a victim at some point and you think that your disgusting actions in response to that were justified, based on your prior victim status.
It is natural for a victim to want to take back power. However it can manifest in a lot of very bad ways.
I understand the psychological need to justify some previous actions you took, to feel better about things you would otherwise see as bad things.
Nobody wants to see themselves as a bad person. It's like the movie falling down, where the main character was a victim of society relentlessly bullying him. In response to injustices, he lashed out at society and did not lot of damage.
Everybody watching the movie, feels like the main Character is justified, but at the end we are all brought back down to reality when the officer arresting the main character explains to him, he is the bad guy. The main character is also brought back to reality by realizing he is the bad guy.
The whole movie, he was just lashing out at his bullies, but in the end we see his responses made him the bad guy.

Why do you think sexuality can't change. I can tell you mine have since I hit puberty. Many times. It's always been changed towards what type of women I found attractive, but if I can change my mind and become more attracted to gnomes, I'm not certain you can say I won't develop an attraction towards penises.

We're you really in the American Navy?
It seems odd when you ask a veteran if they believe in maintaining the freedom our founding forefathers gave us, and have one respond with
"Well that depends"

That bias can't be erased no matter what the system of laws are, but I think allowing a full accounting of events for the judges ends up in more fair sentencing. I have also looked at a study that showed judges hand out harsher sentences after being reminded of their own mortality.
The law just can't be extremely precise.
Taking speeding for example. It is against the law to speed, but should you really have to get a ticket if you are rushing to the hospital.
Not really and it's not written into law, in your example the person has to pay a fine, but with case law, a fair verdict can be made and when somebody speeds to get away from a serial killer, we can determine a more fair result based on that previous case law, than by having hard rules that can't be altered, even though the world and language is constantly evolving.
Words are really just abstract things, by the nature of the human language you can't even get as specific as possible to avoid some unthought of exception to a law.
Even if you could possibly do so, the amount of research needed to create a perfect law would take billions of dollars, when you can just get perfection through trial and error

and this is the primary vector for corruption of the legal system
The reason case law is used in civilized countries is because you can get pretty absurd, trying to precisely define things.

@Vader
I would have to agree that I believe past administration definitely leaned more toward the left
The left right paradigm shouldn't even matter, regarding this topic. You can oppose free speech in a more general sense and also realize it is stupid to do when having academic discussions or on a debate site.

@3RU7AL
the "Presidential-Veto" can be over-ruled by a consensus of moderatorsand since bans are already agreed upon by a consensus of moderators, i'm not sure the "Presidential-Veto" will be particularly effective
If this is true than it needs to be corrected LOL.
Created:
I'm happy we agree on that point
Created:
I can say I was drastically more controversial on DDO and recieved zero bans, because often max would just message me and help me determine where the lines were. I think I have like 7 bans under the mods. I don't count whiteflame as part of the group responsible for that, but the bans were excessive and beyond a personal level because they were so widespread, pretty detrimental to Dart as a whole.
I have some issues with how airmax handled a few things, but there are few people if any that could have done his job better than him

I made a thread and tagged Ragnar so he would have the opportunity to correct me if I was mistaken. Don't handicap yourself by following an unenforceable rule
