@3RU7AL
I'm not sure what Kant's Critique of Pure Reason was about, but he was critiquing something anyway. Honestly I didn't make it past the first page but I learned the words "propaedeutic" and "apodictic" and I don't think I'll ever forget them. Nor use them in a sentence that's not about how I learned them from Kant.

I expect the world will open up one day a Cheshire Cat smile and swallow me whole, and that's about as real and true to me as any dainty syllogism. Embrace infinity.

I used to understand this and I'm pretty sure there's nothing mystical going on, but either way
So make a couple of slits and shine a light through them, and you will find GOD.....Yep that's another angle.
This about sums it up.

You were actually such a neat tradesman always sadolite and it's a pity you can't showcase your work here but you should lay off the cults lol.

We've been just big dairy and beef for years. With this new change though, we can still keep small animals. I'm kinda excited to become a sheep and chicken farmer.

I've lived and worked on a farm my whole life and it's not so bad. We recently sold to solar power too, so now I'm just rich.

Bad ideas, failed businesses, sunk cost. Any sort of central planning can't deal with any of this like capitalism can, capitalism ruthlessly reinvents itself, that's its power.

I got lots of friends and neighbours in Ireland who've never heard a cuckoo bird. He's got a really distinct call, well he says "cuckoo," not much more to it than that. But he prefers deep countryside and bog always. I've known him my entire life and there's people living 5 miles down the road that have never heard him. Always wondered a bit at that.

@3RU7AL
do you think that perhaps there are unqualified legacy idiot executives and politicians ?
Not really sure what you do about that, though. It's not really an indictment of capitalism, either. It's surplus, in a way.

Wasn't my point. Child labourers are an endangered species, I think.

It's all a bit of fun. Greyparrot posts in every thread about equality, though. I really don't see where it fits into the everyday issues or personal justifications about things generally. Capitalism is the future. It's survival of the fittest by proxy. It's self-organising and cannibalistic, and just nothing's ever going to measure up. Zero dead weight. But it's a zero sum game too, and we'll find out soon enough.
Apparently China has also harnessed capitalism like nothing can compare to, lifted 400 million people out of abject poverty in the last couple of decades. Be interesting to see where that goes, too. I'm also like half certain a "healthy" capitalist economy depends on the exploitation of shitheap countries, to be honest. It's all a game on how we value our time. There needs to be extremes in it, or there's nothing.

What's your point, though? Where are the intellectuals tossing round the word "equality" that you disagree with it? I don't believe that all men were created equal. There's a snivelling sort out there for sure. I don't see any real problems posed to politics in that, though.

I just generally like people really. I have dark thoughts and a streak of vicious pride in me, and there's a dark opportunism in me for sure, but for the most part I just generally like people. And that's about all of my morality, a friendliness I guess. I would say my empathy is shallow, too, honestly. But then everyone's must be, because otherwise you'd drown in it, in this world. I have deep familial love in me. I came home drunk and a bit coked out of it honestly and watched Warrior last Friday and cried a bit honestly. Great movie. I have done some wildly violent things in this life and still consider myself a good person, or no less than you at least.

To be clear I thought the allegations against bsh1 for pedophilia were pretty dumb as well, but I bet most the mods here took bsh's side on that one too lol.
This is also funny shit btw. This is one fucked up bunch of people.

I'm completely worse in a relationship tbh. And the girls are as bad. I got some funny stories about my most recent ex actually, although maybe they're a bit explicit. Needless to say, bitch was constantly rocking the bed while I was trying to do my own thing next to her. She'd fucking show me too sometimes, if on her period, like a child happy with a finger painting. One day she blocked the sink after washing her hands, pushed down a broken stopper absentmindedly, and came crying to me about her housemates. Good enough for her. As if I was fixing that.

I guess the real big threat in AI is military application though. I dunno how that shapes out either.

This is one of the coolest lectures I've ever watched on AI, language, the mind, whatever. There are things about the human mind we could build for sure, and even language and just the stuff of thoughts is all such a mechanical thing once you really study it, but all the rest is nonsense talk. It's just mind boggling shit tbh. I'm after hurting my brain thinking about AI and consciousness and singularities, thank you.

I don't believe a word of this stuff either. Elon Musk is just weird and Stephen Hawking's fearmongering was the death rattle of a cyborg. AI is cool and I plan to make a career of it actually, but yeah I don't see it.

I as a fairly average male am about on par with the female world records in powerlifting for my weight class. Think about that. Men and women should not be playing sports together.

Not an excerpt, but an essay: https://drszellitessays.wordpress.com/2013/06/05/kafkas-metamorphosis/
Kafka's Metamorphosis is a very famous story and a very funny one. I always knew what it was about, but this is the first good write-up I've ever found on it. I read Nabokov's interpretation years ago and I'm sure it was complete nonsense. Or too secretive about it all perhaps, I'm not sure. Either way, I went years without. I hope you enjoy.
I couldn’t read it for its perversity. The human mind isn’t complicated enough.–Albert Einstein, after returning a Kafka novel loaned to him by Thomas Mann.

but I think women are instinctively, collectively recognizing the immediate and global need to reduce human overpopulation.
I mean this is fun and interesting but hardly. It's surely just greater opportunity, greater freedom, less prejudice. Instagram, facebook, tinder etc. have also all changed the shape of human relations for sure.
What about global warming denial then? Where's the instinctive, collective recognition of immediate and global need there?
