Why Do Christians Believe God Became Flesh?
@ Stephen

written for an ancient audience and culture and society of the time.
Show me from the Bible, from all its separate books [66, I think] that it is written singly for an ancient audience?  And you follow such a claim with "You are simply being disingenuous." Who is? English, my friend, happens to be my native tongue, and I measure the probable numbers of people on this site literate in Hebrew and Greek, and figure it would be a waste of time and space. Really? That's your argument?

for every verse that you choose to defend what is written in scripture, that I can almost guarantee you that there will be another verse from THE BIBLE that will and does often , contradict it and you.
You ask why I say "God is spirit" is not a correct interpretation? Read the rest of the post which fully explains it. Look, I did not invent all the various problems with translation that is the root of most of the problem of finding contradiction. It's there, I admit it, but, I've also said there is a means to resolve the problem by applying the faith necessary to study and pray about it; a simple solution you reject out of hand because you think it is just mumbo jumbo. That's on you and you alone. Argue for your limitations; they're yours. You have never, ever, and never will have a reasonable come-back against that reasoning. I can't prove it to you, but God can and will.

Until you get past that obstacle, there's no sense in answering any other questions, because they all are answered by the same means. You can take a horse to water, but he'll drink of his own volition. Or, be a horse's arse and blow it out.

Technologically inspired understanding and knowledge of the universe and it's processes.
...which we see from a single perspective, so, given our vast technology, when we observe the universe expanding in all directions, assuming it will collapse likewise [and that is an assumption], how are we sure it is doing so at the same rate, given our singular "line-of-sight" perspective? And, do we know for certain what we consider the center-point of the Big Bang is really the universal center just as we once that that center was Earth? You must admit that the assumptions are piling up faster than we are acquring sure knowledge.

The arrogance of those assumptions are as great as those who produce "Ancient Aliens" assume that all our knowledge acquired is at the hands of the title characters...

...or is science going to admit that all we know is due to Almighty God? That'll be the day. Acquiring knowledge by our own sweat of the brow is part of that dominion over the Earth stuff we were given according to Genesis.

Legally, it actually does not matter. However, the government’s legal documents containing a person’s name will render all caps. Also, some non-govt legal documents will also do so, but peop lev can and have changed there given name in all lowercase, and it is legal to so so. The government will still render it in all caps, and that is legal, too.

Why Do Christians Believe God Became Flesh?
It's a deceptively simple concept. The whole idea of "God is spirit," which starts the ball rolling toward this kind of question, is, itself, misunderstood. It is said there are 20-some biblical verses proclaiming who God is, but, among them, there is only one verse specifically declaring God as a spirit: John 4: 24 "God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."

Well, the first three words tell us that God is a spirit, and everyone stops there, cherrypicking. They ignore the follow-up:  "...those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."  Does this mean in order to worship God properly, we must, ourselves, de-couple from our physical bodies to be only a spirit? Absurd.

So, Christ became flesh? Of course he did. We all did, too. Why? There's the second misunderstanding you cite: In order for Christ to understand human suffering. Nonsense. All-knowing God already understands it. We know from Genesis why all who have lived and died, or will live and die on Earth became mortal [i.e., obtain a physical bod]. Because that is the order of our progression: from spirit to physically embodied, to death and temporary separation of spirit and body, to resurrection of a perfect, physical body with the original spirit intact with it. To be as Christ is now, along with God the Father. They are both physical beings.

Hebrews 1: 3. "The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven."   An exact representation? that would be the Son, even as a resurrected being, a representation of the Father. And so shall we be, after resurrection.

So, why? I mentioned Genesis.  Chapters 2 & 3 tell the reason why: We must learn to recognize good and evil, and, hopefully, choose to be good, But, sin will tempt us all, and we will need a redeemer, Christ, to pay the price of sin such that we have the opportunity to repent of our sins and our choice to turn out hearts away from sin will be rewarded by Christ's forgiveness, the only means by which we will again enter the presence of God and Christ, in physical bodies as they have now. In fact, the entirety of Hebrews, all four chapters, detail the plan God has for us.  So does Romans. Reading this stuff is enlightening. No cherrypicking allowed.

Can-do?
Nope. What I'm saying is a definitive, not a maybe: SloJo is a Cannot, absolutely. No questins about it, at all, and you you didn't hate Trump so much, you's realize that that is what Joe Biden is, even to Democrats who appraise him seriously: He is a not-Trump, not a positive Joe Biden.

Y0es, I've seen this apology from Politifact and CNBC. They are wrong. I have a professional sound studio, and I have run the sound of Biden's statement. He did not merely say, "I will be Joe Biden."  there is a definitive, plosive "t" at the end of "be," before the "Joe," and all the apologies in the world from all the fawning media saying otherwise cannot erase what was actually said: A "t."  I've said this, before, so blow your apologies. Did you miss it?  That's on you. Joe Biden  does not know who Joe Biden is, and my professional sound analysis, letter by letter, is all the evidence I need. Period.

Doctors say you should still get vaccinated even if you've already had COVID-19.
Appears the jury is still out on that claim.

Please show evidence that Biden and Harris complained that the vaccine is not effective

Please show evidence Biden says that vaccine should be mandatory.

fauxlaw concedes his prior inaccuracy when evaluating Biden's mental capacity.
Nope. fauxlaw has not conceded evaluation of Biden's mental capacity. fauxlaw has conceded that Biden's departure within six months was inaccurate. Let's read what I said, not what you think I said. That's half the problem I encounter. people misread what I say. Words mean things and I typically choose them carefully.

COHERENCE is "Unified; sticking together; Orderly, logical and consistent.

But if Reagan were alive in 2020, does anybody really doubt he would have supported Biden before Trump?
A straw man argument since Reagan is not here to confirm one way or the other.

Actually national elections are determined by electoral votes counted at the State level
Those are your words, but the E.C. count at state level does not election a President. The President is not elected until the Senate completes its confirmation according to 3 U.S. Code § 15. Your statement is incomplete.

Actually national elections are determined by electoral votes counted at the State level
Nope. The only nation-level activity in the Presidential election, constitutionally, is when the Senators [House is also there, but plays no role unless the proceedings fail to confirm the election by the E.C.] meet, under the direction of the President of the Senate to confirm the E.C. State votes, by physical count. Article II, sec. 1, clause 3.

On the other hand, who is really running the White House, today? SloJo, on an official schedule of 5-to-6 hours a day? Just look at his official daily schedule.

5 months ago, fauxlaw claimed that because Biden said he couldn't solve the pandemic for America, he must not be a can-do president.  Now the pandemic is  almost exclusively killing people who did not get vaccinated.
No, I did not make a question of whether or not SloJo is a can-do.  There is no question; SloJo still said he will beat Joe Biden. Doesn't know who he is; how can he possibly be competent? And as for killing people, there are plenty who have had the virus, and survived with antibodies that science says is as good, if not better than being vaccinated, but those who used to complain [including SloJo, and Kammie] that the vaccine would not be effective, are now saying it must be mandated. What changed, other than their ill-informed opinions?

  • Scientists expect COVID-19 vaccine for under 12's soon.
Which does not follow the science that children under0 12 have very low risk of consequences of exposure

  • Biden re-iterates that nobody can get away with saying nothing happened on Jan 6th.
True, but who did nothing: Pelosi, who runs the Capital Police, and ignored their pleas for help.

  • Biden agrees that filibuster is holding up voting rights and a relic of Jim Crow but worries that changing filibuster will end any hope of GOP cooperation
What voting rights are being held up? Fully eight amendments deal with voting rights, and the 1964 Cib=vil Rights Act officially, documentationally, by legislated statute and procedural policy, ended Jim Crow, so, what relic, other than by individual racism, which no policy or statute can control, other than by hope?

  • Biden expects improved economic growth will overtake inflation in the short (a big promise that he needs to be able to demonstrate before mid-terms)
Big government spending on entitlements never has and never will yield economic growth, so SloJo's expectations be damned.

  • Re-iterated that Central American immigrants should not come to US and said working hard to re-establish a process for legal migration broken by Trump.
SloJo telling illegal immigrants, from many more countries than just in Central America, is certainly slowing the flow from the southern border, isn't it? Trump's policy, which SloJo broke immediately upon taking office, did slow the flow, no it's as high as before Trump took office. You just don't like trying to limit illegal immigration. No, they do not deserve to be here. It's called illegal for a reason. Change the law if you don't like it. No, Democrats can't do that, can they?

Biden's Town Hall last night [7/21] on CNN was a joke from start to finish. 'Moderated' by Don Lemon, a very center-of-the-road guy [and pigs fly], and, in a Republican district [although Cincinnati, itself, voted for SloJo], the event was so well attended, it probably had every voter who legitimately voted for Biden. So, it was not well attended. At all. Not as if CNN, itself, showed the empty seats; more than most of them. Many more. Trump would have filled the auditorium, even as a post-election event. But then, CNN would never host Trump in such an event, even-handed news organization that it is.

Biden, of course, was Biden, if only he knew who that was.

Do grades determine your intelligence?

I know the history of Einstein, thanks. My father, as a PhD student at Yale, joined a small group from Yale to go to Princeton to meet him and discuss his work in 1939 [as if any of them had any insights for Einstein!], ten years before I was born. I've been regaled with stories of that four-day meeting for most of my life. Einstein, himself, related stories of his education, mostly being bored with what was taught, and my dad was never sure where reality ended and fantasy began. He thought Einstein was merely trying to relate to people on their level. My father's lasting impression was that Einstein was the loneliest man in the world for lack of anyone who could converse with him at his level. Genius has its disappointments

Yes. Einstein, as a child student failing math is a good example. Either he was not motivated to learn, then or his teacher[s] failed miserably to motivate. Either way, he obviously had sufficient latent intelligence; more than most of us. Good thing it ended up being tapped.

My argument is the same with such names of things created by  low-level perception that results in the "mouse," a device that had its tail coming from the head, and now has no tail at all. Tech just has a poor reputation for meaningful additions to the lexicon.

Evolution has a natural, and a manipulated force of change, and it may not be exclusively a human phenomenon. Adaptation, a natural attribute, and innovation, an attribute of intelligence.

All of it is, I believe, part of the injunction we were given in the Garden; dominion of the Earth. This is also why I believe blaming God for everything; he did not retain dominion. He gave us that responsibility

Any word such as currency (money) whose prefix is as ominous as crypto, which, etymologically  (Greek) relates to an underground burial conrainer of the dead, or a hidden repository, does not bode well for currency, the which investment ought to be open, above “ground” and increasing in value as an investment. It’s not the money’s fault; it’s stupid use of language and faulty contribution to the lexicon. As a suggestion for investment, it’s not a good start.

@3RU7AL
WHO DO YOU BLAME ?
You've missed five steps in your attempt to relate to creation and its consequences:

1. Your master programmer has not given an overall plan for intelligent creatures to understand their purpose in their creation.

2. Your master programmer has not acknowledged and allowed both good and evil to co-exist in his program.

3. Your master programmer has not given the intelligent creatures any instructions relative to their expected actions.

4. Your master programmer has not allowed the intelligent creatures free agency to choose between good and evil actions.

5. Your master programmer has not provided a meaningful plan for the intelligent creatures to overcome their mistakes.

Whereas, in the real world, the Earth, as created, God provided all five steps for the intelligent creatures he created, and it is all described within the first 3 chapters of Genesis.

Without these five steps, you blame the master programmer. With them, as was actually done, you blame the intelligent creatures for not following instructions.

@3RU7AL
PERFECT GOD = PERFECT WORLD
Why?  Nice equation, but, clearly, the world is not perfect, and that says nothing for the condition of God.  This is not his home. It's ours.

A PERFECT OMNISCIENT GOD CANNOT LEARN ANYTHING
Learning amounts to more than just learning facts, i.e., knowledge of stuff. Once we have knowledge, we learn the wisdom of using that knowledge to best benefit. Omniscience does not necessarily include that second step.

A PERFECT OMNIPOTENT GOD CANNOT BLAME OTHERS
More to the point, God, being perfect, need not blame anyone for anything. Laying blame is not the end and means of justice; that's just the beginning, and it is not necessary for God to do that. We handle that, ourselves, who are not perfect, yet. Consequences are God's to manage.

what if one just avoided the mess to begin with by thinking about the consequences of personal choice, because that is exactly what it is. Don't tell me some people are forced in to drugs. By whom? By people who choose to associate with people who have clearly made that lifestyle choice. Bad choice to join them in the first place. Sooner, or later, their bad choice catches up to them because of peer pressure. They've already demonstrated a weak backbone of resistance. I had to go through that, myself, and realized I'd made a bade choice of association, and ended it before I succumbed to that peer pressure. I value my values more than I value would-be friends.

Paul Singer is worth about as much as Trump; a small-fry billionaire. I'm not even that, by a long shot, but I am prepared. So, Paul's buying up is not affecting everybody, and nobody who is, themselves, hedged reasonably well against inflation - anybody with enough wits to do what I did. I don't have a mortgage. I don't owe on any vehicle. I have food and supplies storage. I grow about 40% of my own food. Come on, stop whining because anybody can do this. It's called money management, building a revenue stream. I didn't use to have this stuff, but I made it a priority fifty years ago. I knew this idiocy would happen. How? I listened to my father. I listen to God. Yeah, the scriptures are full of warning, but they must be read and understood, then followed. I don't just believe in God as some distant figure who cares not a whit for me, personally. He cares because I do. I give 20% of my increase to charity, and also give my time. I read to children. I help neighbors with yard work and other stuff. I'm teaching to fish, so to speak. Those neighbors are at some distance because I live in a forest. But it's my time, isn't it? Look, stop running scared, complaining about the world around you. Take care of you and yours; you can then help others. That's the way it's supposed to work, Paul Singer or Joe Biden and inflation be damned. So things cost more than they did yesterday. Like I said, I don't buy a lot of stuff, anyway. He who has the most toys wins? Bullshyte. He who takes care of himself, then helps others wins. Every time, in the final analysis, which is nowhere  near finished being done, yet. You ain't seen nothin' yet. Keep watching...
