@Polytheist-Witch
I am contemplating the meaning. are you celebrating? it starts at 223 pm pacific time.

@Castin
It's not important. I have found that you don't need meditation. All you need is sincerity in your heart.

No I never have. I do my own versions of meditation

I have started my meditation practice again. It has been a few years. I am hoping to get to a state of consciousness where I can reach God.

According to your system of "justice", if hitler is saved, he also gets off scott free.

Some DO claim certain drugs can create religious experience. I have never tried that though. Probably never will.

@Paul
Would you say that religion is an inwardly focused activity?
Is it all about your perception of God and your personal relationship with God?
I'm not sure. There may be some aspects that need to be outwardly focused. I think there may be reasons for certain things, such as where holy sites are built. Many churches and cathedrals have been built on top of "pagan" holy sites. I don't think this is just a matter of appropriation. I think some sites may have something to them that draws people to them. Not sure what it is, but I think something real is going on.

@Polytheist-Witch
So why is judging who is good for you or not bad?
It's not bad. It's the smart thing to do.

@Paul
Sure. God put me into a different state of consciousness. He opened my chakras. He showed me the mistakes I've made in my life. He showed me that Revelation is an inner battle, not an outer one.

There is a place that only God can occupy,and that involves a different state of consciousness. Only God can bring you there.

@PGA2.0
My sinful and wrongful actions have been paid for by the life of another.
This is the problem with your religion.

@Stephen
Some of us are interested in other's religions and their practices.

@Castin
Do you consider your religion's rules to apply to your online behavior here?
I would have to say yes.
Created:

@Castin
That is because it shows the general attitude that a lot people have in the first place.

@Castin
Even words on a screen can affect people's feelings castin.

@Mopac
Yes or no answers my question. Why are you obfuscating?
Created:

@Mopac
I didn't ask how to see God. I asked if you have. a very simple question, with a very simple answer.

@Mopac
So you've never seen God, never experienced God, yet you are a theist. Why?
Created:

@Mopac
You have no knowledge, or Truth. All you have are circular definitions with no real meanings.

@Mopac
Did God create spider wasps? Carnivores who eat living beings?

@Mopac
The difference is God has a mind and can make decisions. Gravity can't. You really don't think God is responsible for his own actions?

@keithprosser
Everyone is responsible for their own actions. even God.

@secularmerlin
we can't. we can only make guesses based on our own experience.

@secularmerlin
I don't really have a definition. But i know what it feels like. awareness of my own thoughts, my emotions, my environment to some extent.
Created:

@secularmerlin
I don't think it is possible without awareness. this is why i have changed my mind on all things having free will, such as electrons. i think things need to be alive to have consciousness, and thus free will.

@secularmerlin
no. i don't know how they think and make decisions. i cant even really guess with a dog. But i do believe they have awareness,and the ability to make decisions. even a bacteria does.

@secularmerlin
Yes all living organisms have free will. some may not realize it though. I don't think it requires a brain.
Created:
Posted in:

@secularmerlin
why does an organism "need" to survive? That implies an impetus of some kind.
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@secularmerlin
still implies that there is a choice to be made. If there were no free will, we would all be robots. no need for thinking and feeling.
Created:
Posted in:

@secularmerlin
You can't be "provoked" into doing anything if there are no free will choices.
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@secularmerlin
How can a feeling provoke a behavior if the organism has no choice in the matter?
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@secularmerlin
what is the point of feelings at all if there is no free will?
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@secularmerlin
I'm not sure what you mean. One is a feeling,an emotion, the other is an intellectualization. A thought.
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@secularmerlin
Ok. I don't believe you don't FEEL like you have free will.
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@secularmerlin
You don't accept you have free will, yet you feel you do. Is that correct?
