scum has to fear counter claim right now and like/dislike ingredients is pretty subjective.  I really don't like that wylted & pie are acquiescing to mass claim but not stating ingredients.

i heart conspiracy theories 4 sho. I had a lawyer boyfriend for a couple of years who believed every CT in the book & I would love to argue them down to a muttering sulk. I’ve written papers debunking cattle mutilations and UFOs.  My father was an AF UFO investigator in the days of Powers’ capture, etc. He  thought it was mostly bs & hysteria. I just enjoy  The poetry and the predictable patterns of self-delusion

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!”

He took his vorpal sword in hand;
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”
He chortled in his joy.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

yes, I would debate that resolution & argument.  If PRO's resolution were well provable it would have been proven by now & that is not the case.  Perhaps there are a few reasonable suspicions but mainstream scholarship is consistently unimpressed with the evidence- which always starts with  Fakespeare but always ends up with a different proposed real dude.  Nobody questioned Shakespeare's identity during his life or for centuries after- all this Fakespeare stuff if a fairly modern class of criticism- mostly from the desperate need scholars have  to say something new and interesting about the Bard.  Queen Elizabeth was a big fan of Shakespeare- commissioned works from him, probably even met him at some point.  If she suddenly discover that Sir Francis Drake was penning her favorite plays- I think that might have made an historical impact on Drake's career.

I think I could win that debate.

so it seems most everybody thinks they are smarter than average.  Now we must ask ourselves- is that true? How is smarter than average defined? Do we suppose our little cohort is manifestly smarter than average and is that intelligence reflected in the contributions we make to this site?

oke doke.
I don't think I'd mind a cut & paste from a previous content from the same user-  that's quite different than plagarism- that is improving on a draft.  I'm doing one of those with Wylted now and the cut & paste definitely hurt his argument more than helped.

Ken Burns said, “please call me Ken”. Watched the ‘60s episode of his new documentary about country music- Johnny Cash, Charlie Pride, Loretta Lynn, Merle Haggard.  Ken Burns is a national treasure.

Saw “The Two Popes” which is superb- Anthony Hopkins & Jonathan Pryce.

Went to to the after after party out at this fancy resort but I was definitely not cool enough to sustain that scene- $20 dollar tennis shoes and no product in my hair.

RatMan-

i have an old friend we call “RoadKill” because he killed an old woman driving home from getting his drivers license.  I guess it is awful but only his friends call him that and only a friend would let us call him that.  Nicknames are complicated. RatMan is such a natural, ironic, and resonant condensation of RationalMadman that you must have factored that variation in when choosing the name. I’m still surprised it is not most users default.

I’d encourage you to embrace the moniker as a term of affection or if affection cannot be bourn then connection. It is certainly not derisive or diminutive.  U may recall I’ve called u RatMan from the first time I wrote u- long before I had any sense of who u were so u can’t really make a case for provocative intent. Just the affection that come from interactions since Jan. Before u left, I told u u should stay.  Now that you’re back I’m saying I missed u & mean it. Yes, these are only the shallow bonds of social media and no, I’m not interested in alliances or plots.

I just think the site is better when u are here, and less when your not.  That’s all.

Other fest hi-lites so far:

Adam Sandler asks me for coffee & gives peace sign

Alice Walton saying “well my name is Alice Walton, if that means anything to you “ and nobody knew who she was.

Bill Gates playing foosball in the New Sheridan Hotel Bar.

Lucas Hedges changing his shirt in front of me

Barry Scheck complaining because we were out of La Croix

Chatting for hours with Robert Shaw’s daughter

Standing in the wings with Kelvin Harrison Jr and Sterling K Brown as their movie “Waves” premieres- there’s an early locker room scene w/ Harrison and as his naked ass appears on camera Brown reaches down and grabs Harrison’s ass and laughs.

Just saw Ford v Ferrari in a special sound presentation: Mr Dolby himself comes on stage and says this is best audio experience you will ever have in a movie andthe movie is 60s race cars @ Le Mans so yeah, spectacular.

There's a light on in your house but no one's home, no one to come out and play
Afterglow from an aircraft as it disappears, a shooting star making it's way
You know that I love you. The room you use. Your heart, your hands to design
I'll absorb your finale as it lines you up to press out the last of your light

There's a way to find connection if a fuse has burned and we seem to be drifting apart
As the cell conversation finds in the end we're defensively holding our hearts
In the hills of Mondolkiri where the dust is long and red
Isolation's hard to score from elusive direction
I'll think of you but the world's not the same anymore

The ugliness of ignorance. Illumination's gone
The emptiness we lean against, I'll never take it on

With all we buy to justify holding on too tight
Define your muse, declare your love
And thank your lucky stars for light

Torch the great undecided and instigate a method to form a new prize
With a shadow behind us the sun it appears to expose our useless disguise
An addiction to frustration, an awkward cause to eliminate light from the field
It's not a secret operation or a charity, just a habit I can't seem to yield

The ugliness of ignorance. Illumination's gone
The emptiness we lean against, I'll never take it on
With all we buy to justify holding on too tight
Define your muse, declare your love
And thank your lucky stars for light

She speaks

To-morrow, if a harp-string, say,

Is used to tie the jasmine back

That overfloods my room with sweets,

Contrive your Zorzi somehow meets

My Zanze! If the ribbon’s black,

The Three are watching: keep away!

Your gondola—let Zorzi wreathe

A mesh of water-weeds about

Its prow, as if he unaware

Had struck some quay or bridge-foot stair!

That I may throw a paper out

As you and he go underneath.

There ’s Zanze’s vigilant taper; safe are we.

Only one minute more to-night with me?

Resume your past self of a month ago!

Be you the bashful gallant, I will be

The lady with the colder breast than snow.

Now bow you, as becomes, nor touch my hand

More than I touch yours when I step to land.

Just say, “All thanks, Siora!”—

        Heart to heart

And lips to lips! Yet once more, eye we part,

Clasp me and make me thine, as mine thou art!

He is surprised, and stabbed

It was ordain’d to be so, sweet!—and best

Comes now, beneath thine eyes, upon thy breast.

Still kiss me! Care not for the cowards! Care

Only to put aside thy beauteous hair

My blood will hurt! The Three, I do not scorn

To death, because they never liv’d: but I

Have liv’d indeed, and so—(yet one more kiss)—can die!

Sup’s slackin.

So I’m volunteering @ this film festival this weekend & I’m taking the gondola out to free parking.  It’s a really cool 2 mile transport over a ski mountain in 3 sections. I’ve never taken it at night before but it is awesome.  It’s very dark and quiet and the stars are out in their millions. If you stare long
enough you get that feeling like Starship Earth.

At the halfway point, this really sexy, sharp dressed couple comes out of Allred’s- a fancy restaurant on the landing and jumps on followed by Guy Pearce. From their conversation, it’s clear the other guy is also a film actor but i couldn’t make him. This other guy is talking  about underwater work and how he’s scared of  heights and he’s afraid the gondola is going to get stuck & sure enough,  a minute or two later  the gondola shudders to a halt for five or six minutes.  We’re trying to distract & comfort the guy a little & talked about how beautiful the sky was, and Pearce talked about a Billy Bragg American train song album and how he should make a gondola album.  Willem Dafoe’s here. Martin Scorsese. Saw Ken Burns speak.  I’m not sure I’m cool enough to be at  this festival.  Saw “The Aeronauts” which was excellent and watched “The Right Stuff” in a little outdoor park.

How do you know that?
My IQ test has assured me that I do not.

Nevermind I meant

15 novemoctogintillion
So either your first estimate or your second estimate were off by at least one hundred and sixty-five orders of magnitude.  To put that in perspective, the diameter of the universe is expressed in gigalightyears- tens to the twenty-sixth power of meters.  Your over/underestimate was more than six times larger than mistaking the universe's breadth for a golf putt.

Do you mean quattuortrigintillion- fifteen times ten to the one-hundred and fifth power ? Or one trigintillion divided by four and multiplied by fifteen?

@Trent0405
I just took one experimentally & got a 77.  The website actually suggested I look into a career as a janitor.

I'm pretty skeptical about the whole notion of IQ frankly.  People have such trouble defining intelligence but then they don't balk at assigning it a number (as long as it confirms certain biases).  For example, all IQ tests are time based but we know that most real intelligence is not time based:  intelligence is  inhibited by pressure and we know that really good answers seldom come quickly.  Intelligence is a process of collating data, evaluation, creativity, memory- the best ideas almost always involve good sleep and good collaboration.  How does an IQ test reflect any of this?  The answer is that it does not.  Mostly IQ tests are only designed to reveal mental nimbleness- wit.

If an IQ test does what it says it does, then training and repetition should not avail testees- but all these sites allow retests and advertise for IQ training.  The sites themselves invalidate their own initial claim- that intelligence is quantifiable, that intelligence is inherent and can't be learned.

Hi Pink.  Sorry to read about this abusive relationship.  My first thought is that the some of the things you listed were real abuse- a lot of the things you listed were just teenage boyfriend bullshit but all of it was mixed up together which makes me think you aren't 100% on what's abusive and what is not.

I would advise you to call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at  1-800-799-7233.  You will probably have to wait a bit or perhaps they will give you some other number to call.  If you're nervous, just read them what you wrote out here.   At the end of that call, they will probably offer you some services and they might ask you to make some hard choices about your protection.  Definitely, they will help you to think about your safety and this relationship in a more objective way.  Don't worry about if you're being fair to anybody, don't worry about maybe after school starts, etc.  Just call and let them help you think  about this out loud a little bit first.

Now I suppose lots of people are going to... Supposing you could arrange everybody so that they all have certain characteristics. What would you want them to have? So...we want everyone should be geniuses. Well, I've got some personal knowledge of geniuses, and let me tell you one in a long while is all you can stand.

I mean, I personally don't want anyone around me who's a genius; I can just barely stand myself.

Or we want everyone who's sort of a deep thinker, everyone who's sort of sensitive, and kind, and humane...naah! Any race, any set of human beings that are all alike are not only dull, but useless, really.

I was asked a few days ago...really was, I'm not making this up...whether I didn't think an intellectual elite ought to run the world. And I said, by an intellectual elite, you mean people like me? Because I didn't know what he meant by an intellectual elite. I thought maybe it might mean people like him, in which case no!

And he said: "Yes, people like you". And I said no, that would be no good because I'm only smart in certain ways, and very stupid in other ways. And if everybody was like me, and we were running the world, we'd all be smart in the same way, and all be stupid in the same way, and it's the stupidness that's going to kill us. I said, what we need are people of all kinds running the world! Some of whom are smart in one way, and some of whom are smart in the other way, and with everyone's smartness in different directions, so that they can sort of cancel out; so that everybody's stupidity can be caught by someone else's smartness in the same direction.

In the same way, that's what we want. The greatest...the greatest gift that mankind has is it's vast gene pool. All the different genes it has. All the different characteristics; the smart and the stupid, the strong and the weak. Because it's the variety that makes it possible for us to meet different emergencies, and what is weak under one set of conditions might be strong under another, what is stupid at one time is smart at another, and so on. We can't throw out anything for fear that that's exactly what we'll need someday."

I think that if Wylted genuinely made a mistake, he would've tagged both of his partners

If he's scum trying to frame Grey, we shouldn't lynch Grey

And if he's a fool, then we shouldn't lynch either of them

all right.

You're missing my point, if Wylted is a fool then he wouldn't know if Grey was scum or not, so we shouldn't Lynch either of them if we think Wylted is scum

Agreed.  Remember I VTL'd before you sent me goose-chasing scumslips (which I'll keep looking for).  If you think Wylted is deliberately trying to get lynched, then we should be cautious.

I think the best argument for scumslip right now is that Wylted was very chatty up that moment and now he has vanished.  IF he did it on purpose, he's have a plan, right?  If he did accidently, he might have just walked away out of frustration.

Two other (probably irrelevant) points of information:

Being commonplace doesn't make it real here, that's like saying "cop is super common, so we must have one here"

Agreed  We don't know if its real. I'm just struggling to think of an honest explanation for Wylted's post

And if Wylted is a fool, why would you lynch Grey? Wylted wouldn't know if Grey was town or scum, he would just be choosing a random person

THIRD-PARTY ROLES

Serial-Killer: Must survive to the end of the game. Each night, the serial killer may choose one player and attempt to kill them. Occasionally the serial-killer will have an additional win-requirement, like "Must kill Players x, y and z".
Survivor: Must survive to the end of the game.
Fool/Jester: Must be lynched to win. Surviving to the end of the game or being killed during the Night Phase count as loses.
Cultist: Similar to the Mason. The Cult Recruiter chooses one person each night and they are converted to "Cult". Cult wins when they have the majority of players. It is important to remember not to assume a role works a certain way and to always refer to your ROLE PM to determine how your role works.
