- Extending anti-doxxing protection to non-users
Former user protections seem reasonable. Non-users would need more definition (shall we avoid pointing out that the UK PM lives @ 10 Downing St., etc)
- The permissibility of spam threads (e.g. "yeet," "record attempt at most posts," "race to 127 posts," etc.)
Mostly driven by badge-seeking, I suppose. Is this a problem? Isn't a reasonable amount of useless hyper-posting good for keeping website activity counts up?
- The permissibility of spam debates (e.g. "best online guru love matchmaker [phone number]" and debates by banned users' alts)
Advertising and banned users are already not permitted so I think this is about other users retaining/benefiting from spam debates. I don't know....winning 100 debates seems an awful long way off if we can't sieve the sewers for freebies now & then.
- A Public Ban Log for perma-banned users
And temp bans, too. This isn't just idle gossip- I have more than once been left wondering whether an opponent I was debating would return and was uncertain how much effort to spend on the abandoned debate. Users need to know how long users are banned for- not particularly interested in the why although that might serve some "severed heads on pikes" utility.

ANNOUNCER: Point! Jab! That's two for LaRusso.
REFEREE: Time out. Go to your sensei.
REFEREE: Turn, kneel.
SPECTATOR #4: Johnny, you're a creampuff!
KREESE: [checking Johnny for a broken nose] Sweep the yeet.
JOHNNY: [Looks shocked]
KREESE: You have a problem with that?
JOHNNY: (defeated) No, Sensei.
KREESE: No mercy.
[Both contestants return to the ring]
SPECTATOR #2: One more!
ANNOUNCER: Two points LaRusso. Lawrence nothing.
[Johnny kicks Daniel’s leg}
REFEREE: One point Lawrence. - LaRusso.
ANNOUNCER: Kick to the side. One point Lawrence.
[Daniel retreats out of the ring]
REFEREE: Out of bounds. Come back in.
DUTCH: Destroy him, Johnny!
SPECTATOR #2: Come on, Daniel, you can do it!
ALI: Come on, Daniel. Be strong.
[Johnny sweeps]
DANIEL: [goes down hard] O….my yeet!

@Vader
keep in mind GP's hider claim is testable: we have set an expectation that he breadcrumb his target and we will want him to tell us who he hid behind next DP. GP should be able to confirm a town or kill a scum or he will have to try to fake it which might be falsifiable. Any way you look at it, GP's not a good lynch candidate

I suppose I don't feel so convinced that we can't nolynch or lynch the scum and/or absent club instead. & we might get lucky in the night. Why so pessy, mystic?

@Wylted
We are going to be in this same boat tomorrow.
doesn't that imply that you don't really think bsh1 is scum? After all, if we lynch bsh1 and he turns scum our prospect ought to be much improved. But you already don't think so.....perhaps because you already know who is scum and who not?
If you don't think bsh is scum (same boat tomorrow), why are you vtl'ing?

@bsh1
So, Oro is the least scummy people of those I named, IMO. But he is on my radar, because I am not finding his posts to be geared towards unearthing scum.

I'm still fine with lynching bsh1 although club is registering way higher on my scum meter- he is clearly avoiding this forum

Fun fact: did u know that bsh1 used to run the mafia beginners series on DDO? I bet the first 20 games I played were modded by bsh

Thx for the feedback. My view is I will never out-debate the real debaters on this site so my only real chance at King-of-the-Hill gold is to try to keep my debate count up and hope for tragedy to visit my betters. I'm not looking for easy debates so much as informal- that lets me look like the more formal debater. I tell myself I can work on rehabilitating my reputation after my my chance at all medals is secured or lost for good.

I do detect a soupcon of over-defensiveness in that last reply. Not much info to go on so this is more feeling than thinking at present but here's my first
list from most scum to most town:
Club
Mharman
Bsh1
Warren
Wylted
Greyparrot
WaterPho

@bsh1
so far, themewise we have WaterPhoenix as Aedion Ashryver. Not much theme there.With nothing else to go on, I'd lynch on theme analysis for POE. Given that DP1s usually don't have a ton of really good info, I see no problem with using theme analysis to direct a lynch at this point in the game. But I also probably put more stock in theme analysis than others do anyway. Crack the code and find the scum. Why else would we care about character claims?
Am I correct that there are three races in this world- fae, human, & valg? Perhaps we could start with everybody stating their race.
I think we should be pressuring club, who posted once early to get his PM resent, vanished, lurked, and returned only to VTL Mharman. I don't know how experienced club is at this game but that does not look like town to me.

An extra bonus is that no one would need feel bad about casting a last minute vote (I can't speak for everyone else, but I've been writing votes and decided to withhold when I noticed the clock.
good point. I know I've abstained from late voting for fear of projecting favoritism.
Isn't this loophole a result of no post-voting moderation? Wouldn't it be preferable to just allow mods to remove objectionable votes even if it changes the outcome of the debate?

Do you know much about ToG? I have never heard of it before now, will read up on it tomorrow.
Nothing & it is a lot to digest.
You mentioned Valg earlier. Based on my PM that is some sort of race or maybe the name of a kingdom... Do you think it has something to do with the town/scum divide in characters?
I think the protagonist assassin is Fae, the antagonists are Valg At least a King and Queen. Fae vs. Valg might be good race vs. evil race but maybe it is more complex than that and I can't sacrifice sufficient amounts of my limited attention to find out.
