If I accept the Pro side of the debate, would I get the first argument?

You're not rude, I'm just curious what your position is on the debate and whether I want to accept your challenge.

Excuse me, friend, are you taking the Pro stance that, Yes, the Bible should be used as a moral compass? I'm a bit confused based on what you said in the Description; it sounds like you are taking the Con position. Maybe I misunderstood?

Thanks, friend. I look forward to our next debate!

Yeah, my first argument I did in Word docx and then converted to Google docs. But the last few in the debate I did directly in the DebateArt Publish editor.
Thanks for your help!

Okay I published my First argument. I would appreciate any advice if I make a mistake in my structure or wording as I am new to this. Thanks for the opportunity to challenge you on this debate. I look forward to your reponse.

Well I finished my First argument which I did in Windows Docx format. I then uploaded it to Google Drive and converted it to a Google Docs file. It looks good and has all the Hyperlink formats working, but when I go to copy and past in the Publish section of the Debate the Hyperlink formats do not carry over, so it looks like I will need to redo all the hyperlink formats, which I used for verse links and definition links. Ugh! Do you have any suggestion? Is there a better way?

Bear with me friend I am working on the structure of my points along with the sources to support that structure. I'm hoping to finalize the first argument by noon tomorrow (Nashville, TN CST time)

I accept your challenge. Am I correct that I am to provide the first argument?

How about you start the Abortion debate and I'll challenge and I'll start the Pets in Heaven debate and you challenge? Or we can at least try. :-D

From your vote, you mentioned, "Pro offered no real case of his own, and made slightly amusing remarks instead of countering con's case." This was my main reason for my vote against Pro, so I'm wondering why it was not considered a weighted vote? At any rate I will try to do better.

I have numerous religious topics I am doing in self-study that could result in some interesting debate topics. For instance, one study is heaven and the question is will our pets be with us in Paradise? Another is Hell. I no longer believe in the Traditionalist view of Eternal Conscious Torment. I am leaning toward an Annihilationist view. On the political realm, I am a string advocate for Pro-Life on Abortion, which is tied to when does life begin. I just need to nail one down and think through - come up with my arguments and support.

Is there somewhere I can get an example of accepted (valid) vote...I mean if I did meet the criteria of 2 completes non-troll and non-forfeit debates, or 100 forum comments. I ask this because I read the arguments and used points 1, 2, and 3 to formulate my vote. Am I supposed to elaborate in the comments of the vote signified by point 1 through 3? Please explain. Thanks.

Yeah I guess that is the prevailing opinion of most Gays in society today. Christian churches have dropped the ball there, not all but many.

In my opinion, Speedrace's definition of homophobic is not accurate and makes it difficult to debate against, but since Speedrace laid down the debate rules the opponent has to play by them. God loves all people and that includes homosexuals. He hates their sin but loves the sinner.

Typical Christian is one who believes what they were told growing up in a strict religious environment and is afraid to have an open mind and question the "Pillars of the Faith"

I'm not your typical "Christian," so I'm hoping to challenge some of the status quo arguments.

Not sure. I'm a newbie so I've just been browsing the debate topics. I'm mainly interested in religious, theological, political, and sports topics.

Okay it sounds like it would not work for me then. The "Or" would have to be either:or. I can debate against dislike but not against prejudice, so I would need that option to remove prejudice and just focus on dislike.

Too bad I think I would have enjoyed the debate :-)

Friend, If you change two words in your definition of homophobic, I would take up the challenge. This would be my first debate on DebateArt, so I may make some mistakes.

Your definition of homophobic: "having or showing a dislike of or prejudice against homosexual people."
The changes I would make to the definition in order to accept the challenge; "having or showing a dislike of or prejudice against homosexuality.

Also I would like clarification of the word "or" in the definition. Does it mean "either or" or used to connect alternative terms for the same thing ( source: https://www.dictionary.com/browse/or )

Let me know what you think.

As a Christian, I can tell you there is nowhere in the Bible that tells believers to hate homosexuals. On the contrary, we are to love all humanity, just as God loves all humanity and sent His Son to die for said humanity. I personally do not see how you can lose this debate.
