Few words were spoken between Bsh and Zaradi on the long flight back to Washington, DC. Bsh's only thoughts were on YYW, and the crushing guilt he felt about having left him behind. He wondered if YYW was even still alive...
When they landed, they were immediately met by a cordon of Secret Service and CIA agents.
"Thank G-d" Bsh thought--finally, he could tell someone the whereabouts of YYW and the rest of the crew, and whatever survivors were left could be ransomed.
The closest CIA agent briskly approached Bsh, flashing a badge.
"Bee Ess Ach One, you are hereby under arrest. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law."
"Wait...what?"
And then, as Zaradi walked on, Bsh was taken away.

Thett stood over YYW on the makeshift hospital bed. Amazingly, it looked like he was going to make a full recovery despite his many injuries. But for now, he slept.
Sighing, Thett turned away and headed towards his rendezvous with Mestari.
"It's obvious that we need to get off this island as soon as possible, and Zaradi took my only private jet. And before we knew who you were, we scuttled your ship. So Thett, I want you to take a party and look for supplies to fix your ship with. Let me introduce you..."
Thett was then introduced to two of Mestari's surviving allies. One, named blamonkey, was very intelligent looking but quite young. He would be useful, but Thett always preferred brawn to brains. The second was Tyrone.
"Now this...this, I can work with." Thett said, after taking one look at Tyrone. Tyrone was the biggest, blackest man Thett had ever seen. He was easily 6'5", and so heavily muscled that he looked like he could snap an olympic bodybuilder like a twig. He wasn't wearing a shirt, and Thett would later learn that he rarely wore shirts because they didn't make any that could contain him. The slightest unintentional flexing would tear even a finely woven shirt into multiple pieces.
"This I can work with" Thett repeated, handing Tyrone a sword. Tyrone immediately dropped it.
"He's a pacifist" Mestari explained
Pulling a Bass Guitar from behind his back, Tyrone helpfully added "I believe in the power of music above all to change souls"
With that, the trio set off to look for wood and rope to repair the ship.

Bsh was led to an interrogation room that looked exactly like they did in the movies. The room was entirely empty save for a metal table, two chairs, and a very old fashioned lamp that gave the room some dim lighting. He sat here in silence until a man walked in. In the dim lighting his face was obscured.
"Bsh...I vould like to ask you a few questions, if you don't mind."
That slight accent...what was it?
"Who...who are you?"
"I'm nobody. You can call me Mike."
"Mike, we had a permit for everything we did. Everything. I doubled checked the law myself."
It was true. Following the letter of the law exactly was extremely important to Bsh, and it was one of the things he had absolutely insisted on double checking before agreeing to be Thetts first mate. Technically, they were privateers, not pirates, and operated under an official United States charter, their rights to disrupt shipping lanes backed up by ancient maritime law. After running rampant in the Obama years, the Trump administration had challenged the right of Thett's crew to pirate vessels. The resulting Thett v. Trump lawsuit made it all the way to the Supreme Court, where Justice Brett Kavanaugh joined the liberals of the court in a 5-4 decision, authoring a pro-piracy opinion: "I liked grog. I still like grog."
The controversy resulting from the lawsuit contributed the Trump's landslide defeat to the incumbent United States President, Kanye West. President West immediately cooled down the controversy by striking a deal where Thett and his crew would work as mercenaries for the United States.
All this to say, their piracy was totally on the up and up.
"Things have changed. Read section C" Mike said
He then slid Bsh a section of regulatory code.
"All privateering vessels must undergo a mandatory federal inspection every year."
It had been a year and a half since Thett had the ship inspected. Bsh felt like someone had punched him in the face. Bsh always had the utmost respect for bureaucrats. He viewed a caste of educated professionals issuing rules as the closest thing possible to the Platonic ideal of rule by philosopher kings. He would never, EVER, violate a regulation this blatantly. Did Thett know about this?
Shocking himself, he choked up.
"I didn't know. I swear. I didn't know!"
"Calm down. We know. Just consider yourself lucky that President West signed his mens rea reform bill when he did. We don't think you knew, but we know for a fact that Thett did. We sent him a letter about the change."
How could Thett do this to him?
"Listen, I know you need rest, so I'll cut to the chase. We're hoping you will help us bring Thett to justice. You are going to be inducted into the witness protection program. As a token of good will, I've left something for you in your room."
Bsh was driven into a safe house twenty minutes outside Washington. Entering his room, he immediately saw the surprise. It was an entire library shelf. Contained in the shelf: the entire Code of Federal Regulations.
Bsh fell to his knees and wept with joy

Agreed. I doubt she would support a decrease in immigration but her main opinion on it is probably that immigrants are being exploited by the upper class (which they are—that’s the entire point.) will she be smart enough to realize that open borders destroys labor? I hope so
she also isn’t that dumb at all. No more or less than your average politician, anyway. She’s just less polished. Sure her argument about the current system being more expensive than socialized medicine makes her sound dumb, but last year we just watched hundreds of politicians line up to say that a gigantic, historic tax cut would actually increase government revenue. That’s even more insane imo but they mostly got a pass on it

And thus for the next hour Thett was told ofthe whole, sorry tale. Mestari’s boat had been sunk in the North Atlantic rather dramatically by a US warship, but by the grace of God Infowars spies had gotten wind of the plot and managed to rescue him just before he froze to death. It was during his long recovery that Greyparrot taught Mestari the way the world really worked. How Mestari was being targeted because he dared to speak out against the military industrial complex. How the state was actually controlled by special interests and wealthy, reptilian puppet masters. That democracy was, in essence, a God that failed. And then Greyparrot had explained to Mestari how a resistance was being formed. Dozens of disillusioned politicians including former presidents TUF and Airmax had jumped at the occasion to join Greyparrot when they were offered and the team was slowly taking over the government from the inside out. Until someone talked. Immediately, the government was shut down under the guise of a Republican refusal to fund Obamacare but the real reason was so that the reptile people could purge from the government those who were disloyal.
Airmax and TUF were driven from Washington. Most of their other allies, low level bureaucratic turn coats, were simply executed and the rebellion was exiled onto this small island although a few holdouts had managed to survive in secret. Greyparrot told how how the government had created the fake pirate lord “Lucky Luciano” to justify their excursions into this area that was riddled with actual pirates to stomp out the resistance. When it became too costly they resorted to hiring mercenaries like Thett’s crew to do their dirty work for him.
Thett took this news surprisingly well. That is, until he remember Zaradi. That was when his blood ran cold.

Bsh knelt by the unmoving body of YYW as the horrible realization sank in that he did not have the necessary medical skills or supplies to save him. If YYW was to survive it would have to be through the good graces of the pirates. With luck, Bsh would be able to get the US government to ransom YYW and any other surviving crew members from the pirates. But in order to do that, he had to get to the US. With that, his mind was made up.
“Goodbye YY.”
And then, feeling as low as he had ever felt, Bsh heeded YYW’s final request to him, and ran. Fleeing the palace, wandered in the jungle for an hour. Unfortunately for Bsh, he was on an island so before he knew it he had circled back to the palace. That was when he saw Zaradi come sprinting out of the building. As soon as he reached the surrounding jungle, Bsh caught up with him.
Zaradi told him that the battle on the beach had gone poorly, and that the rest of the crew was either dead or captured. The mission had failed. Not all hope was lost, however. Not quite. Because right after relaying the harrowing tale, Zaradi pointed at a concrete strip in the middle of the forest:
“I think...I think I may know a way off of this rock”

“ZARADI!” Thett suddenly screamed, snapping Mestari out of his narrative.
“What about him?”
“He’s not really a part of the crew. He’s with the CIA.”
Mestaris face turned white.
“Juggle protect us.”
The guard outside of their room had been knocked out, indicating that someone had been listening in. The trio rushed to the room where Zaradi and Classic had been taken. Classic was unconscious, and Zaradi was gone.
Our heroes sprinted outside, only to hear the sound of an engine. Looking up, they watched as Mestari’s super nice private jet took off. Zaradi was going to tell the CIA everything that they knew.

Thett stumbled before falling beneath a large tree. His crown had been lost and his kingly robes were in tatters. His six pack was barely visible beneath a copious amount of blood.
Thett hung his head and began to cry, the wind carrying his sobs.
Within10 minutes, the first guard arrived. It was not long after that that almost the entire army had assembled, watching in shock as the esteemed leader of the pirates buried his head in his hands and sobbed like a toddler.
Lucky himself arrived 5 minutes after that, his Rabbit suit stained with what appeared to be blood.
Lucky grabbed Thetts hair in his hand and yanked his face from his palms.
“You will come with me and you will do it now.”
Suddenly Thett stopped sobbing. From the tree covered in leaves and twigs, Classic and Zaradi jumped. Before anyone could react, they had two swords at Lucky’s throat. “I don’t think so.” Thett said with a sneer. “It seems we are at an impasse, Lucky. Release my crew and bring us to our ship and you shall be spared.”
“Thett you moron. If I had known it was you this whole thing would’ve been handled very differently” Lucky said. He gestured to the shoreline which was barely visible, but in the distance a red, scuttled ship could be seen. “Tell your goons to remove my mask.”
Thett hesitated before signaling Classic to tear off Lucky’s bunny mask.
All three of the men gasped. It was Mestari.
“Well…this changes things.” Thett said. Dumbfounded and wordless, the trio followed Mestari back to the palace.

Mestari had been a prominent politician who was an endless advocate for ending corporate welfare and destroying the military industrial complex. He was also a good friend of Thetts before he had vanished in a tragic boating accident a few years back.
So many questions needed to be asked.
The first question was asked not by Thett however, but by Mestari.
“How much do you trust these two men, Thett?” Mestari asked, gesturing to Zaradi and Classic.
“With my life. “ Thett replied.
“Not good enough. Come with me.”
Thett was led into a room on the left, while the other two were led into a room on the right.
Thett was motioned to sit down, which he did.
“This isn’t an easy conversation to have, Thett. So hard in fact that I’m getting the master himself to explain.” Mestari said something cryptic into a hand-held radio and within moments a man appeared. He was medium sized and looked exactly like Alex Jones.
“Hello.”The man said, extending a hand. “My name is Greyparrot”

You kinda seem like someone who lives for site drama, so yeah I can imagine it must be a total buzzkill for you when mods do anything that shuts down site drama. My inner e-drama junkie totally groks that. I actually agree with you, fwiw -- the place does seem emptier when the controversial members are away. I like 'em and they defs add something to my experience of the site.
I seem like someone who understands that flame wars are objectively good for online forums. This experiment was already tried on DDO, when airmax rolled out the new conduct policy that was similar to the one here it was a total disaster and he started ignoring it within month

so? it's a debate site, controversy is the entire point. usually calling something dynamite means its cool
But to be clear, so you're saying you want a policy like: If Member A personally attacks Member B, and someone other than the victim (Member B) reports it, mods should have to ask the victim whether they agree with the report before they take any action against the rulebreaking?
Context matters. This is a site with MAYBE two dozen members and three (four?) moderators, it wouldn't be that hard to take things on a case by case basis. I think it's a bit ridiculous that Wylted was banned for an entire week, on a site that really needs people, for an attack on me that I saw as banter. I am the victim here and am telling you i do not want any punishment for this action. shouldnt there be a way for me not to "press charges" so to speak?
my friends and I used to box at this park. one time, it was night and from a distance it must've looked like we were actually fighting so someone called the police on us. when the police got there and we explained the situation, no one got in trouble even though we would've if we were actually fighting...do you see? context matters. I understand why you did what you did at first (even if i think it's excessive) but here i am explaining the situation...i was not offended, it was banter between friends...no reason to punish him

Bsh1 also told me he'd come up with a single explanation of how posting the amount of humiliation and abuse that you did in that story is acceptable just because it's an off-site link that you linked to on-site and even tried to gain money for writing previously. It names and shames people who are both from DDO history and on DA presently and he insisted he'd look into it and explain to me why he's going to consider that okay even though he also admitted that if I posted abuse off-site and linked to it on-site that there'd definitely be punishments.
All great artists of the past have faced censorship so I welcome it. It will only make me stronger
and btw I’m not making any money off of it 1) I’m pretty sure no one other than my little friend group bought it and I didn’t expect them to and 2) it’s literally set at the lowest price point for a paperback—it’s being sold “at cost” i get nothing from a sale

I was banned for sticking up to your buddy REF. He called me a pathetic autistic waste of space and basically berated me in several different ways even post-ban and still isn't reprimanded for it whatsoever.
Interesting, I wonder if he was even offended by the thing that caused you to get banned. He has an extremely thick skin. This could be another case of a dumb ban. I don’t know the full story, though
