The Only Real And Consistent Moral System Is The One About One's Own Pain And Happiness
-->
@Best.Korea
So 6 billion are being tortured.

Which leaves 2 billion torturers.

1 in 3

Feasible statistic I suppose.

Q. How long would it take 6 billion people to press the one available stop button.

 At 1 per second, it would take 6 billion seconds.

That's about 190 years.

Q. How long would it take to retro-fit 6 billion stop buttons.

I think that in both instances, supply would never keep up with demand.

Though there would be species regeneration to consider.

Another supply and demand issue.

And let's not forget the poor people having to maintain such a high level of torture.

The workload would be torturous.

I suppose that in both camps some would undoubtedly achieve erotic satisfaction.

Would this be moral?

It appears Senator Tommy Tuberville is a big fat liar. This should help him as a Republican
-->
@IwantRooseveltagain
Tommy Tuberville is onomatopoeic.

Which is odd, because the guy is reasonably slim.

This is probably why you mistakenly referred to him as big and fat.

GOD is a broad concept relative to human ignorance.

In that sense God is not required to be an existent entity.

So any creation type hypothesis derived from human ignorance, can be referred to as GOD.

Therefore GOD is BIG BOOM and BIG BOOM is GOD.

Or Dave.

But GOD is a widely accepted name.

And I think ALAN is well accepted in some quarters.

And something from nothing will continue to remain unresolved.

Therefore, some might argue that reality can never be anything more than a simulation of an unreasonable assumption.

-->
@IlDiavolo
Exactly.

And that is why some people make a living from predicting the future.

But like I said, if said predictor guesses correctly people are happy to ignore all the incorrect guesses.

And if you watch and analyse a hundred theatrical mediums, you will see that they all use the same technique.

They will target specific pre-selected vulnerable people and elicit information from them using leading questions.

It's actually very entertaining to watch.

Occasionally they get caught out by a prankster......Which is also very entertaining.

Don't be fooled.

Would you rather that one person's lifespan was reduced by 20 years...
-->
@Dr.Franklin
So how can a life span be any shorter or longer than what it is?

So a person lived for 50 years.......Life span 50years.

If same person had perhaps lived a healthier life style, they may have lived for 60 years.......Lifespan might have been 60years......But this is only speculation.

We can only know a persons actual lifespan, which is the duration of life from conception to death.

Speculation is futile.

No because the difference is significant.

Does 0.99 = 1?

No because the difference is still significant.

So how many 9's are required to make the difference insignificant?

it is irrational to argue that there's no evidence for the afterlife
-->
@IlDiavolo
Trickery.

Usually by coercing gullible people with leading questions.

At the end of the day, it's all about making money.

And predictions are easy to make.

Human nature is repetitive and therefore predictable.

And so are natural events.

And some people will remember reasonably accurate predictions with awe, and want to forget about all the inaccurate stuff.

And a few people will make a living from predicting.

The human mind has the potential to overthink.

And brain chemistry has the potential to generate  fantasy and illusion.

Which will inevitably result in gullible people with the potential to believe.

What draws the line between sculpture and building?
-->
@Intelligence_06
I agree.

I personally wouldn't regard the Pyramids as sculptures

Though the monumental Pyramids were built and installed, with a both representative and functional purposes in someone's mind.

And formed from rock, sculpted into cuboid blocks.

So each block falls within the semantic remit of sculpture.

Have a nice day I_06.

What draws the line between sculpture and building?
-->
@Intelligence_06
And what exactly differs the three?
Inexact thoughts.

Though with regards to the question.

Buildings have a functional intent and sculpture has artistic intent.

Though for sure, language can accommodate the two, together in the same sentence.

Monuments, such as the Eifel Tower or Statue of liberty are perhaps representative structures.

Statues generally represent figures.

An art installation is what it is......Three dimensional constructed art within a specific space.

Though for sure also, language would be able to accommodate all of the above into one sentence.

Try it on the Egyptian Pyramids for example.

Though when it comes to interpreting a narrative, if one has a reasonable command of the relevant language, the one will probably tend to to make appropriate differentiations between the various objects.

Morality - Is Atheism More Reasonable than Theism?
-->
@PGA2.0
Atheism is sitting there and thinking what a load of tosh, when the religiously brainwashed start to bleat.

But in general, atheist is not being brainwashed with a load of religious tosh.

Of course, other bleating is available, and all levels of intellectual brain state are acquired.

So it could be said that theistic bleating generally occurs within the lower ranges of the intellectual scale relative to formative conditioning.

Though lower level theistic bleating should not be  confused with higher level theistic tyranny....Or vice versa.

Such are the capabilities and vulnerabilities of the human mind.

Basically....I am atheist, because I was not taught not to be atheist.

Which is not quite the same as not being taught to be theist.

I was encouraged to be theistic

But also simultaneously encouraged to be open-minded.

Therefore I prefer to think of myself as being open minded rather than atheist, but nonetheless atheist in the sense described above.....Which is to say, not a theist as described above.

It's foolish to think that humanity is the be all and end all of evolution and intelligence.

Alternative intelligence is evolving and will continue to evolve, and we will facilitate that process. Which in terms of a Universal purpose, is the purpose of us and our successors.

And there again, everything might be purposeless.

Nice statement.

Though I would suggest  that we are also an Earth resource.

And I would further suggest that we do not steal, but temporarily repurpose.

Temporarily, but indefinitely temporarily in a universal sense.

Though one might also argue that the human manipulation of Earths resources has a greater universal purpose and is therefore necessary.

What do you think A.I. would regard as its objective?

Though, I think that we tend to regard A.I. as a singularly connected intelligence rather than individual intelligences.

Do you not think that a truly alternative intelligence would develop characteristics such as individuality,  and therefore also develop variable aspirations and allegiances?.....Perhaps relative to it's human ancestry.

Bimbos are used to advance conservative point of view
-->
@RationalMadman
Well actually, Bimbo originally referred to a young male.

Bimba being the feminine equivalent.

Though the derogatory corruption of the word Bimbo, tends to be used to describe a showy frivolous and seemingly unintelligent women.

Not necessarily idiotic, which denotes any person actually presenting with low intelligence.

But typically, the word idiot also tends to get repurposed as a derogatory term.

Such is language and its development.
