Description

It seems that christianity is the only religion to encompass all the moral problems of one's soul and convert it into a just logic of cosmogonical organization. A good historical example of that was the concept of compassion - something that seems unthinkable to someone from archaic period. Taking Homer's Illiad heroes as examples, the paradigms of an greek archaic society, they are presented as proud men, being valued by tehir physical power only.
The figure of Jesus, in the other hand, presented the figure of a man in a vulnerable position as symbol of power for the first time in history. This symbol perfectly represents what christianity pursues - humility, forgiviness, love and compassion - isn't it what guides social conduct nowadays? Isn't it the virtues that, for example, all heroes in fiction have? Or the virtues people try to mimic when they want to look good in other people's eyes?
It seems to me that only in christianity we can see this characteristic - no other religion in history before had a character like Jesus, someone who forgivess a prostitute or is represented as someone who loves his enemies.

I think the morals referred to by Christians are for humanity only.
God gets to do whatever it wants. After all, it is the all-powerful, etc.

Barney,

You posted a link in comment #1 where we assume you accept Dennis Prager's notion that If There’s No God, Then Murder Isn’t Wrong.

Since Jesus is the God of the Christians, and out of one of many times He committed murder within the scriptures, where in the case of Him murdering His entire creation in His "Great Flood," was Jesus wrong in doing this murderous act where His own inspired words to begin with says; "You shall not murder" (Deuteronomy 5:17) to set an example?

This is especially troublesome because in the Flood scenario, Jesus murdered "INNOCENT" zygotes within women in gestation, and babies treading the ocean waters screaming for their mothers before they went down into the ocean depth and dying a horrific suffocating death. These innocent human life didn't know of man's wickedness and evil, yet Jesus murdered them as well. (Genesis 5:5-6) Therefore, does Jesus’ murderous act upon the innocent as aforementioned described seem correct since He is known to be an all loving and forgiving God?

.
Then there is the irony that Jesus is omniscient (1 John 2:20, Psalm 139:1–6 ), then He knew way beforehand that He was going to murder His creation in the Great Flood, where He knew His creation were going to act in the manner that they did in being evil! Therefore, is Jesus guilty of the most ungodly of murders, being “Premeditated Murder” which opens up a large can of worms?

Just running this proposition up the flag pole to see who salutes it! :)

Intelligence_06,

YOUR QUOTE: "Thanks for helping me."

Uh, was that a patronizing statement, where you do not want me to show TRUE Christian morals inspired by Jesus the Christ as God anymore, where you in other words can handle your debate? Huh?

Thanks for helping me.

Intelligence_06, notoaot,

We need laughable entertainment, therefore when are you two debating comedians going to start, as in, shyte or get off the toilet!

.
1. Meantime, the Christian morals allowed me to beat my children with a rod because they were getting out of line, praise Jesus' revenge upon my kids!:

JESUS AS GOD SAID: "Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou BEATEST him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt BEAT HIM with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell." (Proverbs.23:13-14)

2. Another moral Christian teaching was that my wives and I could sell our daughters into slavery, since we had too many mouths to feed in the first place, as this passage states herewith:

JESUS AS GOD SAID: “When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she shall not go out as the male slaves do.” (Exodus 21:7)

Do you two have any other Christian morals that you can add to this list?

I noticed that people dont know when Best.Korea is joking and when not.

That is fine.

Best.Korea enjoys a lot to post troll comments. Best.Korea prefers weirdness over friendship.

@Best.Korea

Can't have imagined how you have survived over the past years...unless you are joking, yeah.

God wasn't showing murder was wrong when he let Jesus be crucified.

-->
@Intelligence_06

Authoritarianism is horrible. It promotes peace and order and other undesirable things.

-->
@Best.Korea

So you both believe in God and Juche... Lemme guess, you don't want either, you just want authoritarianism.

I remember when I was a student, our teacher told us that without God you cannot explain why murder is wrong.

🤦‍♀️

Yeah, I feel a desperate need to explain why murder is wrong. I care a lot about it.

I wouldnt know that murder is wrong if there was no Christianity to tell me that.

@Barney

Hopefully not all of us are like that. I am not that, because unlike how brave he is, I have a blatant fear of murdering people, or having people murdered before my eyes, or being murdered.
