Russia's war in Ukraine threatens both global and African food security, as Russia and Ukraine are essential grain exporters to the continent.

I'm not suggesting they will become reasonable, I'm saying Desantis will not have the ability to convince them that the sky is green the way Trump has. The thing about Trump is that they love him because he's one of them. He's a complete buffoon and an ignoramous, so when he says something stupid he gets away with it because that's already his brand and because he gives them validation. No other politician can pull that off. Desantis is too intelligent, so the level of stupidity that has to be achieved for him would come off as fake and disingenuous, the very thing Trump supporters love about him and the reason they let him get away with literally anything. This isn't just a Desantis thing. Look around, every politician that tries to act like Trump comes off the same way, and none of them can gain any national appeal. Desantis is the closest thing, but his brand is still completely different. So again, I'm not saying they won't vote for him, I'm just saying that he won't have the same kind of pscophantic support Trump did, which will be needed to accomplish what Trump couldn't.
well stated

Singapore has again made it to the top ranks of the least corrupt countries in the world based on a global survey released annually.
The Republic along with Finland, Switzerland and Sweden scored 85 points each, tying for third place in the 2020 Corruption Perceptions Index released by the global anti-graft movement, Transparency International (TI), on Thursday (Jan 28).
Denmark and New Zealand earned 88 points each to tie for top spot among the 180 countries and territories surveyed. [**]

- "With Europe and Africa increasingly split over the war in Ukraine, European diplomats have argued in a confidential report for a more “transactional” approach to foreign aid that would tie funding for African countries to their willingness to work “based on common values and a joint vision.”
- Some EU diplomats suggest in one behind the scenes memo that some foreign aid should be linked to common values is a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, fucking way from "humanitarian aid will now be stripped"
- Why made you tell this lie?
it is clearly the logical implication of "a more transactional approach to foreign aid"

This conversation is about what the term “conspiracy theory” *does* mean.
well, i certainly don't share your view of the term
and a little research shows that your interpretation of that particular term only became popularized in the 1980s
so
not really, "universally accepted"
and, you're ignoring the fact that you're making an implicit argument that - - because you perceive your interpretation as popular, that means i SHOULD agree, which is, the very essence of argumentum ad populum

“conspiracy theories in the colloquial sense are epitomized by certain errors of logic and futilely invalid processes of thinking; the expansion of the theory to include all evidence presented against it, the usage of argument from ignorance and argument from incredulity fallacies, the usage of the absence of evidence as evidence, and the refusal to provide a clear narrative instead pretending they’re “just asking questions” when it is clear they are making strong insinuations.”
all of these apply to your january sixth conspiracy theory

exactly which part of this is your "strong defense" ?The part where you apply what I said to the conversation. If you are unwilling to do that it’s not on me that you still don’t understand this.

@Double_R
The point of everything I said was that there is a big difference in what meets the technical definition of a conspiracy theory vs what people are actually talking about when they use the term in the colloquial sense.
in other words, what you personally consider "the colloquial sense"
Technically, any two people who commit a crime together is a conspiracy, so technically, anyone who makes the case for their guilt is engaging in a conspiracy theory.
sure
But if you tell someone they are a conspiracy theorist that is not what any normal person understands the term to mean in our society.
some do and some don't
As I already went through, conspiracy theories in the colloquial sense are epitomized by certain errors of logic and futilely invalid processes of thinking; the expansion of the theory to include all evidence presented against it, the usage of argument from ignorance and argument from incredulity fallacies, the usage of the absence of evidence as evidence, and the refusal to provide a clear narrative instead pretending they’re “just asking questions” when it is clear they are making strong insinuations.
exactly which part of this is your "strong defense" ?
That’s what the term “conspiracy theorist” points to. So unless you can show me how I’m guilty of these fallacies you can stop arguing that there is some validity to acting is if a standard police investigation is the same thing. It’s not.
it's perfectly clear that there was no "master plan"
the "burden-of-proof" is on the party making the claim

Blacks never had to invent or develop a great civilization
In fact, there was a time when Egypt's rulers were black, hailing from the kingdom of Kush, located in modern-day Sudan and Upper Egypt, according to KPBS. Around 750 BC they conquered Egypt, enthroned their own pharaohs and ruled Egypt for nearly a century, in what would be known as the Nubian Dynasty, or Egypt's 25th Dynasty. [**]
The richest man in history,
Mansa Musa (Musa I of Mali) was the king of the ancient empire of Mali in West Africa. [**]
not to mention,
Many scholars have concluded that the founders of the first Mesopotamian civilization were Black Sumerians. Mesopotamia was the Biblical land of Shinar (Sumer), which sprung up around 3000 B.C. After deciphering the cuneiform script and researching ancient Mesopotamia for many years Henry Rawlinson (1810-1895) discovered that the founders of the civilization were of Kushite (Cushite) origin.
