@Greyparrot
Disney executives have not lost one iota of their power to speak freely,
if i am investigated by the IRS, and they say the investigation is SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE I ISSUED A PRESS RELEASE that criticized a new government edict,

that doesn't magically "silence" me

but it does have a chilling effect on others publicly sharing the same opinion and or other potential criticism

an "attack on free speech" does not need to clear the bar of cutting out my tongue and breaking all my fingers

an "attack on free speech" is any retaliation by official government offices and or officers specifically as a reaction to some written or spoken (or other artistic and or crude expression of) criticism

there'd still be less a margin of error by going with one's presumption.
of course,

but if that individual makes their pro-noun-preference known-now

i will not presume to tell them they are "wrong" and or "inconsistent"

and i will comply, exactly as i generally do when someone points out that i have unintentionally mispronounced their name

That the OP attempts to frame the whole 1A violation controversy as unique to DeSantis’ actions should be an insult to everyone’s intelligence in this forum.
That has nothing to do with the topic of this thread. That is purely a statement about me or more specifically what I’m attempting to do here, clearly painting me as being deceptive.
great point

i do try to steer clear of characterizing individuals and speculating on possible motives

My stance remains that I am disinterested in the concept of morality and instead only in the effects of actions on human wellbeing and the public health.
what factors do you believe are worth considering when the survival of two humans and or two groups of humans become mutually exclusive ?

Then what is UNREAL LIFE?
anything that "could happen" but "hasn't happened" and furthermore "probably will never happen"

more specifically in regard to this specifically specific conversation,

i have never and will very likely never encounter a situation where i will be forced to make a decision between committing an atrocity and NOT committing an atrocity

this stands in stark contrast to the ridiculous vitriol i actually do encounter on a regular basis regarding what i can type and what art i can share with people over the webinternets

given that subjective and objective pronouns like, "he, she, him, her" refer to one's sex.
which between most people (who are not intimately involved) would be strictly beyond their respective epistemological limits

most people believe they can easily spot "a man" or "a woman" but this delusion is mostly a function of sample bias and a lack of disconfirmation

it's exactly like the people who say, "i can always spot a toupee, because all toupees are ugly and obvious" not realizing that they've likely encountered some number of "good toupees" which they've personally failed to identify

I don't believe it all that recording music reduces live performances. One thing if an artist records albums and doesn't tour they make no money.
before radio, every decent sized town had at least 50 professional piano players that would play at local pubs and restaurants and performance halls

after radio, you're lucky if you can find 2 in the same town

No.

do my co-workers need to know this information ?
No.

It is important to maintain a constant awareness of and vigilant respect of our epistemological limits.
I agree.
ok, that's the important bit

we seem to have identified an ontological disagreement

you seem to believe that all mammals are somehow innately and fundamentally categorized as "male" and "female" and anything that either can't or won't reproduce is a malfunction of either "male" or "female" and some medical examination should presumably be made to figure out which is which (for what purpose is a complete mystery)

on the other hand,

i believe what someone looks like naked and or their preferred reproductive function (if any) is absolutely none of my business and if someone wants to be called "a man" then that's what i'll call them and if someone wants to be called "a woman" then that's what i'll call them AND if someone wants to be called anything else, they're going to have to let me know.

each person gets to choose their pronouns as an extension of their name

telling someone they are choosing the "wrong" pronoun is like telling someone they're pronouncing their own name incorrectly and you somehow know better.

anyway, i'm not offended by someone who wants to be "a man" or someone who wants to be "a woman" or anything else, (i'm certainly not going to check for myself) and contrary to what the internet wants you to think, they don't usually call the cops if you somehow guess "incorrectly"

But I still feel like you know if you're going to record a song that's exactly like another song or  remake a song that you should pay the original artist.
yeah, you think that, but nobody did that before 1790

If it’s arbitrary, then I would agree with the doctor’s assessment.
the movie "boy's don't cry" is based on the true story of a child that was born with ambiguous genitalia

the "doctor" asks the parents if they'd like to choose one over the other, and in this particular case, (on the "doctor's recommendation" they clipped off the malformed boy bits and decided to go with "it's a girl !!!!!!!"

however, when the infant had grown into an adolescent, they chose a boy name for themself and dressed as a boy

in other words, the "doctor" made a poorly-informed "recommendation"

How am I "pretending"? Have I confused or manipulated the descriptions of "men" and "women" in a manner contrary to accepted standards or norms?
my question is specifically regarding (someone who never participates in that "role")

why do you feel compelled to assign "reproductive roles" to the millions upon millions of people who don't ever reproduce ?

presumably your "grandparents" have reproduced at some point, and thus have presumably adopted (if not fully embraced) the "role"

and beyond that,

why on god's green earth, would anyone (other than perhaps a medical practitioner) actually NEED to know which of your "grandparents" is XY and which is XX ??

does the state need to know this information ?

do my co-workers need to know this information ?

Usually those big absolutes are immoral no matter what. But if you want to argue like little things like that we can go on all day that's fine.
yes, atrocious atrocities are atrociously atrocious

setting a 14 year limit on copyright (with one optional 14 year extension) seems reasonable to me

a coherent-moral-framework needs to be practical and intuitively applicable to NORMAL DAILY DECISION MAKING (and not just atrocious atrocities)

stealing a physical object is "wrong" because it deprives the owner of access to that object

"stealing" a song or an idea or a story does not deprive the "creator" of anything at all

But I'm confused about why you bring up local taxes and explaining that those pay for fire department. Are you suggesting that Republicans want a fee-based system for public services?
i'm suggesting that iff a corporation, or a land owner has the wherewithal to provide the services we normally associate with a local government for themselves, on their own land, and that land is the size of a typical town or city, then don't you think it makes perfect sense to allow the land owner to opt-out of "government services" ?

also, isn't public funding for roads "socialism" ?

also, isn't public funding for schools "socialism" ?

But I certainly don't think that if you have a published book of recipes someone should be able to just take that book slap their name on it and publish the same exact thing.
The courts don’t necessarily consider food intellectual property. The U.S. government refuses to issue copyrights to recipes, which it describes as “a mere listing of ingredients or contents, or a simple set of directions.” Some restaurants have argued their recipes are trade secrets. A few large chains use trademark symbols on their menus, which, if enforceable, only protect the name of the dish.

Are you still thinking about which specific "coherent-moral-principle" this might violate ?

It doesn’t really seem like a big government action to get rid of a preferential rule implemented by said government.
i thought "conservatives" (and by extension "republicans") would be generally in favor of letting the land owner pay for their own fire department, water and sewer, electrical grid, road planning and maintenance, and police force.

i mean, isn't that what local "taxes" are theoretically paying for ?

isn't the "conservative motto" basically "stay off my lawn" ?

I certainly think if a chef has written a book about their recipes that there should be a copyright there.
the artwork and or photography and or descriptions and or stories in a cookbook can be copyrighted, but the recipes themselves cannot be copyrighted

also dictionaries cannot be copyrighted because "facts" (like definitions) are not considered "original ideas"

@Polytheist-Witch
You don't feel the original artist is getting screwed when someone infringes on their copyright?
there is no such thing as "original" art

all ideas are "inspired" by pre-existing ideas

what we call "original" is merely a recombination of pre-existing ideas

ideas cannot be owned (ideas are NOT property)

not to mention,

The first federal copyright act was the Copyright Act of 1790. It granted copyright for a term of 14 years "from the time of recording the title thereof" with a right of renewal for another 14 years if the author survived to the end of the first term. The act covered not only books, but also maps and charts.

also,

people often try to contend that copyright breeds innovation, but this is contrary to the evidence

clothing designs cannot be copyrighted, and yet innovation abounds in fashion

food recipes also cannot be copyrighted, and yet innovation abounds in the culinary industry
