Introducing interviews to DArt
I was thinking how to give more life to the site, and I saw its common in politics to have interviews, and I thought I can do that here.

They will be in form of 2 round debates.

Round 1 is where I skip and then Pro selects topic and his stance on it.

It should be some good topic, and not something like "US should attack Canada".

Then in round 2, I ask up to 10 questions. I have about 500 character limit.

Then Pro has 10,000 characters to answer those questions.

If Pro refuses to answer, he loses, of course.

The Donald Trump profile pic made me realise something, the broken and extremely uneloquent way you just have a series of unrelated sentences after each other is bexactly how Trump would present this topic
Are you saying that I am Trump?

Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it.

Yeah, they say they are honest, but homosexuality and pedophilia quickly spread and grow in societies which accept them.

I used to have a friend who was gay.

He kept asking money from me, and even once told me he was raped just so that I would feel pity and give him more money.

These are sick people.

No one should really support homosexual ideology, because it spreads.

These are not honest people.

They are not who they say they are.

Why ramaswamy and Tucker will not be the VP and who definitely will be
  1. Lying about or denying something and refusing to admit the lie even when you show them proof
  2. Insisting that an event or behavior you witnessed never happened and that you’re remembering it wrong
  3. Spreading rumors and gossip about you, or telling you that other people are gossiping about you
  4. Changing the subject or refusing to listen when confronted about a lie or other gaslighting behavior
  5. Telling you that you’re overreacting when you call them out
  6. Blame shifting in relationships—saying that if you acted differently, they wouldn’t treat you like this, so it’s really your fault
  7. Trying to smooth things over with loving words that don’t match their actions
  8. Twisting a story to minimize their abusive behavior
  9. Minimizing their hurtful behaviors or words by saying something like, “It was just a joke” or “You’re way too sensitive”
  10. Separating you from friends and family who might recognize your gaslighting abuse symptoms.
Here is what it says about gaslighting. Well, most of those are common online.

That specifically is gaslighting and the term comes from when people in a domestic situation have one doing that to the other continuously
Well, that is cruel.

But if it is abuse in a domestic situation, is it also abuse if done on the internet?

I thought its just a name for trolling tactic where you negate or question everything opponent says to destroy him mentally.

A cruel tactic, sure.

Chess play - Here is what I learned so far

@RationalMadman
don't always capture towards center... depends on many things.
Well, I often must, to secure control of a center.

I usually try to capture in a way that I either control center or so that my pawn structure has less undefended pawns.

Its not a perfect "always" rule, but I would say it works for me more often than not, just like attacking queen with queen in an effort to trade queens.

I cant really go memorizing bunch of parties, because my memory is not that great.

point 1 is a lot of nonsense, I don't think that's a solid rule at all, sometimes you want only 1 maximum other times many is fine, depends how far in you are and the situation of other pieces
I meant the pawns defended by other pawns.

You cant have less than 2 undefended pawns, its not realistic unless you lost lots of pawns.

I believe in the cycles - They are the true way of living a life
I believe everything in life comes in opposites.

There are times when you are hungry and times when you are not.

There are times when you are thirsty and times when you are not.

There are times when you are resting and times when you are not.

There are times when you are working and sweating, and times when you are not.

There are times when you are cold and times when you are not.

If you try to never be hungry, by eating all the time, you will feel worse.

If you try to never be thirsty by drinking water all the time, you will feel worse.

Cycles are about the switch of good and evil, the switch between two opposites, the switch between something and lack of something.

The more cycles you have in life, the more interesting your life will be.

For example, being thirsty for a whole day and then drinking water at the end of the day feels great.

Being hungry for a day and then eating a little feels great.

The cycles teaches that everything must have beginning and end.

If you try to do same thing all the time without opposite to counter it, you will fail.

I dont often see someone's debating style being based on mostly insults such as "moron" or attacking someone's job.

But it does make the left look like a bunch of triggered people who cant have proper debate, so you are helping the right more than you realize.

I used to base my debating style on insults too, but I stopped because I didnt really need them.

Song of the Korean People's Army - North Korea bans gays
I always say that people should listen to good music if they want to be strong.

North Korea is much better than South Korea in terms of birth rates, population growth and suicide rates.

There are no gays and pedophiles in North Korea.

North Korea is strong because it has unity and family-oriented society.

This is their song:

"Continuing the glorious tradition of anti-Japanese resistance,
Glorious ranks forged into steel
As General Kim Il Sung's red warriors
We fight to protect our Socialist motherland

We sacrifice both our youth and our lives
The victorious ranks loyal to the revolution
Led by a great leader
We fight to protect the Party Central Committee with our lives

With each step of the past battles
Undefeated troops shine with victory
Single-mindedly following the path shown by the leader
We complete the Korean revolution

Lets move forward, Korean People's Army
We shall show our hundredfold bravery
Lets annihilate the imperialist aggressors all together"

Loving toxic people who drag you down and ruin you but are related by blood is an irrational thing to do that will keepy out perpetually unhappy until you learn to let go
I can agree with that.

I really shouldnt have made so many arguments defending map people.

I realize now that being map is just as wrong as being gay.

An adult should never have sex with a child because it could give child a disease.

There is no justification for such act.

People should dedicate their life to research and making a world a better place.

If every person tried to make world better, world would be great.

-->
@zedvictor4
How effective can an unofficial rule be?
In fact if you think about it, a rule that isn't official is a tad worthless.
I agree that unofficial rules tend to be useless, but this one cant really be official because it would be really too much.

Further:
Debateart is what it is.
And if you modify it's rules it will become somewhat different.
Which might mean that a few more people will take an interest at the expense of others that you choose to rule against.
I dont plan to modify any rules, nor I have some ability to.

But what we have right now is a corrupt system which doesnt even work for top debaters themselves.

Of course, if it was up to me, entire voting system would be abolished because I dont really see the point in enabling "you vote for me, I vote for you" nonsense and endless fight to gather votes.

There is much more debating and discussion in the forum where there are no votes.

I understand that taking away would offend some users, but lets face it, this site for years has been just in decline, and unless something changes, I dont see how "decline" will magically be fixed.

Though one specialist website amongst a billion others will only ever draw a limited amount of dedicated users.
Yes, I am aware of that.

I just dont see the point in site being designed to punish people for using it.

Thats really not a good buisness model.

Chess play - Here is what I learned so far
In chess, I mostly play defensive because when I play aggressive, game lasts very short and I usually start losing quickly.

But here are some things I learned, I am not sure how correct they are:

1. Make pawn structure where there are only 2 undefended pawns

To me, it seems like its easier to defend 2 pawns than to defend 3 or 4 or 5.

So I make version of stonewall where I go

A3, B2, C3, D4, E3, F2, G3, H4

In this structure, only pawns B2 and F2 are undefended by any pawns.

There are some other versions of formation too, but usually I set the goal to make greatest number of pawns protect each other.

2. Develop all pieces

I really hate when some piece ends up blocked by my own pawns and becomes useless to me.

Thats why I try to get all pieces out early.

Which brings me to my next point.

3. Trading pieces

It seems that if I trade piece for piece, the game develops further.

Of course, I only trade pieces of equal value or if it benefits me to trade.

4. Control center

Its very important to control center so that enemy cant put pieces there.

5. Capture towards center

It seems to me that in most cases, when capturing pawns with pawns, you are supposed to move towards center.

6. You also have the option not to capture

Just because pawn attacks your pawn, it doesnt mean that you should capture it with your pawn.

Sometimes its more beneficial not to capture.

7. Sacrifice pieces

Sometimes its good to offer a piece for a pawn, to break through defense.

Now, I still cant beat computer at hardest difficulty, because it seems that its incapable of making a mistake, while I am very much capable of making mistakes.

Computer also has a very strong defense. Often I have to sacrifice 3 or 4 pieces just to get to king and I still cant checkmate but at best I can force draw.

Are there any other tips in chess? Am I missing something?

I'd enjoy being crushed in my first debate
You have to understand that you have a rare power most other people dont have.

Only a small percentage of people in the world are capable of logical debating.

Often it is those who are good in programming, writing scientific paper or writing good stories.

Most people simply arent at point where you are.

They are not going to learn anything when you crush them, they will just feel stupid.

I didnt know much when I first came on this site. I didnt even know what premises were or how they work.

I went through long time of studying, which was difficult for me because I didnt really have a clue where to start.

Some things take a long time to learn.

But I am one of those who have extremely strong will. I am not afraid of being humiliated by best debaters.

New people come.

You know that.

If you mean the 'debating area' that's a lie
Mostly same, with few new users who come and mostly get chased away.

they'll actually develop wrong habits and flawed techniques that specifically work only vs bad-to-average opponents.
I would rather let them develop bad habbits than be crushed and leave the site.

Plus, I say there should be some debating guide on this site to make new users stronger.

It's the pieces of shit who refuse to ever interact with noobs
I am not saying not to interact with them.

I am simply saying dont crush them.

Users who actively engage them are fun for them.

I am saying: let noobs debate noobs.

I think after almost 2 years, this site's user base is pretty much same.

New people come, they almost never stick around.

If you come here wanting trashy, easy debates, you are going to quit and cry like a bitch the first time you Vs an experienced debater anyway, let's be real.
Possible, but I think new users should build debating will power by debating against new users. That way, whoever wins, new user will win and stick around for longer.

If you think its better to ruthlessly crush them, sure do so, but I dont see that as a working strategy to make new users stay.

Atheists have much lower reproduction rates than Christians, but even if they do reproduce, their children are more suicidal.

"Kids are less likely to think about suicide or attempt to kill themselves if religion or spirituality is important to their parents, a small study suggests"

It comes as no surprise, as countries such as Japan and South Korea, which have no significant concept of God, have much more suicides than Afghanistan and much lower birth rates.

It shows that even poorest highly religious countries are more willing to live than countries which replaced religion with Pikachu.

Do you agree that if you don't accept a lifestyle choice of another , it means you're automatically pre-judgmental , hold a bias, unfair treatment of another?
Well, being gay does mean you wont reproduce, and if everyone was gay, there wouldnt be next generation, so we can say that gays do hold a certain bias against future generations.

Same works for being trans, self-castrating.
