@Death23
PA's the key state in all the models
Florida is the state that is critical to Trump's re-election, but Wisconsin, Michigan and PA are the three marquee races that Trump needs to hold in order to win. He's polling poorly in all three states, so he recently took ad spend out of Iowa and Ohio to put resources in those other three. That was the right move for him but reeks of desperation. So do Mike Pence's constant visits to FL. The way white women and especially seniors have turned on Trump is pretty great. Sad they supported him in 2016 but I understood it then.

Lol can't wait til the Biden supporters cry when the silent majority shows up for Trump'
Lol @ "the silent majority." Every single person on the planet INCLUDING TRUMP and Republicans know that Trump is a *minority president* and the only president aside from GWB to win with less votes than his opponent. The entire reason the GOP clings so desperately and pathetically to the electoral college, and does everything in their power to suppress voting within legal means, is because they are 100% certain they are in the voting minority. Being in the minority is literally their defense of the electoral college. The majority of people absolutely do not support Trump so this tagline is so dumb. Silent majority lol. I can't.

"I never said people are being paid to protest, they are looking to cash in on lawsuits."
You "never"said that? You absolutely did say that. Your exact words were: "Unless of course I am being paid to take tear gas to the face for a photo op with CNN to show how bad the Orangeman is."
So to be clear you absolutely did say people were being paid to protest (don't gaslight me) which is a completely different thing than cashing in on lawsuits. You failed to prove with a single one of those links that anyone was being paid to protest because they're not. Stop repeating dumb ass conspiracy theories.
I don't think there are enough lawsuits won against the police. If police wore body cameras all the time and footage captured other people violently antagonizing them, they wouldn't lose or have to settle those lawsuits so often now would they? There would be proof they acted accordingly or in a way most citizens would agree with. Police unions are the ones who aggressively lobby to limit the use of body cams and other recordings, and when legislatures force them to wear it they mysteriously "malfunction" in the midst of a violent altercation. So that's on them.
I also find it funny that in order to prove your "Orange man bad" point mocking leftists and CNN that you chose to cite several links about The Sovereign Citizens movement, known for being right-wing extremists lol. That's good stuff.

@Speedrace
Fair enough - I just think the obvious nature of what he changed is what's throwing me off. The fact that he chose a character of a show he doesn't watch seems very deliberate. I'ma stop commenting on it for now and just see what he has to say. Hopefully we hear from him before the DP ends.

It's not so much I'm convinced Oro is scum btw so much as I am sure he is the best target to pressure based on what little info we have. It's unfortunate it took this long in the day phase to get to the point of pressuring someone for a relatively substantive reason (as substantive as you're gonna get DP1) but part of that is my fault so my bad. I will pay more attention for the start of games going forward, although I was at a wedding this weekend as well.

@Speedrace
You don't think claiming a cop/role cop like role without any pressure on DP1 is scummy? I could see that, but is it not at least anti-town? What is the purpose of it? I can't see Oro fake claiming it to sacrifice himself either.
And again if this is something he does often (soft claim or claim through his profile pic) and therefore another reason not to see it as scummy, why would you consider this an aggressive move on Oro's part if he were scum? Seems pretty reasonable to me. Just something to consider.

Btw warren I did not shit on everyone :P I just said there was not much analysis this DP beyond whether or not to lynch me for my inactivity. I admit I can be inactive but usually not when I know the game has started, and I hadn't signed on yet so clearly I was unaware. I was killed on DP1 two games ago for this. I was killed NP1 last game after being among the most active last DP1. So I resented the false claim that I am always inactive and the focus being on me (again) as if that was helpful. It did not progress the day phase. There were other things to focus on and MisterChris is the only one who seemed to realize that, although I do think it's odd he didn't find Oro's power role claim inherently scummy. Perhaps it's because Oro "soft claims in every game" as some of you have said, but if that's true, then I disagree with Speed that this would be an aggressive mafia tactic for Oro because it would be part of his town meta. He could say "I was soft claiming with my profile pic as I always do." So regardless he should just full claim ASAP at this point.

Oro choosing to change his picture to that character was intentional because he has not seen that show. If he changed it to one of his fave characters or a character from his fave show, that would be one thing. But picking a character you don't know is trying to reveal something. So he's either mafia trying to gain town cred with a fake claim, or a dumb townie who would out having a power role. If it's the latter, he needs to outright claim before we give him all of these potential fake claim options... though I guess it's too late for that. Let's just see where he goes with this. I would say not to hammer. We've already gotten some insight out of this wagon but I don't wanna elaborate yet.

It certainly is not meaningless. Oromagi has admitted that he has seen no anime except HxH and AoT. - MisterChris
It is 100% meaningless insofar as establishing him TOWN, and the fact that no one has put an ounce of suspicion on him for doing this is weird.
(Good news btw. I checked my role PM and I'm town, so I can finally help since the rest of ya'll haven't done shit but complain about my inactivity. Fortunately for ya'll I'm here and will probably contribute more in this single post than the rest of you put together so far).
Oro hasn't seen any anime allegedly yet changed his pic to a COP character? Ya'll believe that? Lol. As Chris just pointed out - and I was about to myself - Lunatic GIVES FAKE CLAIMS - either character or role - so his changing his pic to a "major" role/character is incredibly anti-town and completely meaningless insofar as giving him town cred which he was prob hoping to get. It's something no intelligent townie player would ever do, so this puts a ton of suspicion on Oro and yet Chris you nor anyone else has called this out. Instead you focused on Skittlez being sus for pointing out what character he chose. I get that takes it a step further but Oro himself had no reason to do that unless he was confident he wouldn't be killed. He knows a lot of people in this game have seen anime and might know who that character is. So I don't buy that "soft claim" at all, read it incredibly sus, and will be voting for him unless something better comes along before the dp ends which seems doubtful.
Vtl Oromagi
I can't tell if Oro is truly that inexperienced and of a 5th grade-psychology mindset that he thinks making his profile pic a main cop-like character would give him town cred. His posts feel kindaaa town once or twice, but that move is just so novice I can't get past it.
I immediately knew Speed wasn't miller when he claimed it, but the fact that he admitted that right away before anyone gave him push back feels town to me. I have a few other 'lean town' reads but don't feel the need to mention them now. I will say that I don't don't love warren's posts (weird vibe) and BearMan feels weird too.
I chuckled at the people who contributed nothing but one-line randomness, saying "I'm town" or remarks about anime, but had the nerve to be outraged that I hadn't posted lol. I guess if I said "I'm not so-and-so" that would qualify as 'activity' going forward huh? Noted :)
I also have a few remarks about other people's game play but that's all I have time to type for now. And for the record I've seen one episode of Pokemon in 6th grade or so. Beyond that I haven't seen a single other anime in my life. I will do my best to get back on before the DP ends but I'm not sure if I'll be able to.

I’m trying to read on the subway but the wifi cuts out in between stops so it’s annoying. It’s also frustrating to type on my phone, and I can’t figure out how to get to my messages from my phone (lol) so I have no idea what my role even is at this point just FYI.
As far as reads, so far I’ve skimmed up to page 6 or so. From what I’ve gathered I just think the tunneling of inactivity on DP1 is kind of pathetic. Nothing says “I’m a weak ass little mafia player with nothing to contribute” than harping on a player who hasn’t even signed on yet. Do better. There is a criteria for tunneling inactivity and I don’t think I meet it - everyone knows that once I’m AWARE the game is on, I am active.
And Oromagi sounds like an idiot saying I haven’t posted in the last three games when #1 that’s not true and #2 I was KILLED FIRST IN DAY OR NIGHT PHASE ONE dumb ass lol. I also think the fact that he changed his profile pic to something that seems to resonate with y’all is completely and utterly meaningless - I have no idea why anyone would town read that. I would be more likely to scum read that but I wouldn’t say I “scum read” him or anyone for now.
Gimme a few hours. Im’a do my best to read and post more.

If the mod says "no insults" at the start of the game, you should be allowed to mod kill for violating the rules. If the rules were not agreed upon by the player, it seems a lil bastard. I have no idea what the rules said (I probs should have looked that up, as I am known to get a lil too honest myself :p ).
I'm glad the town won even though I barely got to play. I don't like the "town wasn't really active" on day phase 1 bit because I was prodding activity, but everyone refused to stop focusing on (whomever warren replaced - that1?) who turned out to be innocent. What a waste of time. We could have pressured more people for claims if/when the Skittles lynch wasn't going to happen -- instead everyone was obsessing over the inactive player. I agree with killing an inactive player if there is nowhere else to go, but the town didn't even try. That's my 0.02 cents. Maybe that wasa calculated effort on mafia's part and if so, good job. Supa I knew you were scum! Hmf.
I have a good idea for three concept games. This theme (from what I saw) seemed pretty good compared to some others. Good game everyone.

@ILikePie5
Can you at least agree to lynch one of the two because derailing a lynch is counterproductive at this point.
No. Mislynching someone because he hasn't posted less than 24 hours after replacing in is also counterproductive. Odds are he's town (per statistics) and his absence only becomes a negative town utility if it affects our ability to get reads or votes. But nobody's even bothering to pressure others, so his absence on DP1 is just something for scum to focus on to distract the town into an easy mislynch target. You seem to be playing right into it or arguably even leading the way.
I'm not voting for warren unless he's inactive in DP2 and I'm not voting for Skittlez right now for aforementioned reasons. I wanted to pressure you for making a post that effectively said nothing (100% fluff) but everyone wanted to focus on the one person who isn't around, so. That's that. Day phase is over soon. We're not lynching today.

Are you illiterate? I did not put Joe and smart in the same sentence. No wonder you support Trump lol - you can't read!
I urge you to vote for Joe Biden. I look forward to the liberal tears just like 2016. Even when all seems lost, Donald Trump comes back stronger than ever. Trump supporters will show up in droves to support him. Keep listening to the MSM and their polls. Underestimate him at your own peril.
I didn't say anything about the media, being liberal or supporting Joe Biden. I just proved that everything you said in support of Trump and against Joe was stupid because you couldn't back it up. @ILikePie5
He literally said it’s a thought. And I don’t think you know what Christopher Wray said. He said the FBI has seen Antifa engage in "organized tactical activity" at the local and regional level. And Trump did condenen white supremacists, but because Chris Wallace and Joe Biden decided to interrupt him, you probably never heard him. Trump literally responded in the same way Chris Wallace asked him the question.
Chris Wallace asked Trump if he would condemn white supremacists. “Sure, I’m prepared to do that,” Trump said, but he added "I would say almost everything I see is from the left-wing, not from the right-wing." Biden and Wallace then pressed the president to specifically condemn white supremacists and the far-right group the Proud Boys to which Trump said, “Proud Boys stand back and stand by." Deluding yourself into thinking that is a condemnation and not an admitted ALLIANCE with this white supremacist group is beyond pathetic. Check yourself.
FBI Director Chris Wray said that ANTIFA is an ideology or a movement, not an organization. He said the FBI had undertaken “any number of properly predicated investigations into what we would describe as violent anarchist extremists,” which included individuals who identity with ANTIFA. But Trump says this assessment is wrong and wants to label ANTIFA a terrorist group even though it is comprised of individuals adhering to an idea/movement. It's not a vast organized network per the FBI. Trump is trying to portray it as a gang which is not accurate.
News flash it’s not 1994 and Joe has flip flopped on the issue just like he has been doing for the past 47 years. He has no principles. That’s the definition of a slimy politician.
People who don't evolve on things are fucking stupid. Thank god society has evolved in the last 47 years. Changing your perspective or disregarding your own values to represent the values of your constituents is not slimy; it is admirable if you are on the right side.
I disagree with The Crime Bill but I understand why it was passed. I'm glad Biden sees what he got right and what he got wrong. Trump's an ego maniac who can never admit to being wrong.
Law and order is important, but you know what's also against the law? Extrajudicial murder. Police brutality. Violating due process. Violating our constitutional right against searches and seizures by cops. Trump doesn't say DICK about these problems in society because he's beholden to this image of him being tough on crime, without any regard to American's rights violations by law enforcement. Biden is saying we need to hold bad apples or systemic issues accountable for the problems they create. That's not anti cop any more than being against child abuse is "anti parent."
Joe Biden called the people in Portland peaceful protestors. “They are brutally attacking peaceful protesters, including a US Navy veteran.” Joe Biden doesn’t have the balls to call his Democratic colleagues to end the violence by asking for the National Guard. It worked in Minneapolis cause news flash, law and order works. The political hack in Portland refuses federal help letting Portland burn for two months straight. If he was the law and order candidate he’d call his buddies and end it. He can’t do that cause he’s a puppet for the radical left who he needs to win.
So you have completely failed to provide a single quote or clip of Joe Biden condoning violence.
Saying "they are brutally attacking peaceful protesters" is NOT him supporting violence. It's him saying that the people who were attacked were not being violent. Some people in Portland obviously WERE being violent, but some people that the Feds attacked were not bring violent -- including the navy veteran Joe referenced, and the people in Washington DC that Trump had tear gassed for his laughably stupid photo op in front of the church. So Biden's statement from July did not condone violence and it is not factually inaccurate. Womp womp.
Recognize it's not that Joe Biden lacks the balls to call for the National Guard -- it's that he didn't think it was wise to do in Portland at the time and/or he recognizes he doesn't have the authority. Like I said it is legally and politically dangerous, which is why Trump hasn't done it there.

perhaps not a great lynch for DP1 but it doesn't feel like a better candidate will be forthcoming.
Admittedly I haven't done "the math" like I know many people have, but I don't feel strongly about having to lynch on day phase 1. I also don't see the utility in mafia claiming role blocker as a gambit right off the bat. I mean in theory I guess I do, but I just don't believe it's a fake claim. The mod specifically said he did not give fake claims, so that would be a huge risk to take as scum without knowing what other characters may be involved -- and didn't someone say that claiming right off the bat is Skittlez' meta? If that's true then focusing on him right now seems scummy imo.
And it would be a lil hypocritical of me to wanna lynch the inactive as well since I was the inactive one (and town) during the first day phase of last game. If we HAD to pick someone, I guess we can go that route, but I'd rather not vote on day phase 1 then do that. To confirm, is it Brit that we are waiting for to post?
I'm gonna vote NL unless someone is open to pressuring someone based on behavior. At the moment I'd be down to target Supa or Pie, but if that seems like a stretch to ya'll then I'mjust gonna vote to end the day phase.

You can see my opinion on the matter there. I'm quite exhausted of debating about BLM in the forums at this point.
MLK was criticized for "inciting riots" too. Much like ANTIFA is more of an idea than an organized group, BLM has evolved into more of a movement than specific group of individuals with ordained leaders. I understand the criticism of BLM but think most of it is lazy and biased (rooted in not wanting to address the issues at hand, and running with the excuse of BLM being violent despite nasty reactions to all non violent actions by the organization as well). I too have no interest in discussing it further now though.

Additionally, talk is fine, but he has shown no motivation to actually enforce law & order in the afflicted communities.
Once again the narrative that Biden "condones" violence is being spread around right-wing circles despite them being 100% unable to find a single quote or clip of him doing so. How embarrassing. They don't care about just making things up lol. I guess that's what happens when you're dumb enough to support Trump -- you will literally believe anything you hear and apparently lack the wherewithal to check if it's true.
As far as enforcing law and order, don't conservatives believe in SMALL AND LOCAL government? It would be up to the mayors and more importantly governors to decide how much force to use and what to prosecute and pursue in each state. The fact is it's a very tricky scenario both legally and politically. Trump got a lot of backlash from the military for using military force against civilians. And it would be horrible optics to show the National Guard et. al being used against those that really were protesting peacefully, such as what Trump did in front of the church.
I think force is warranted in certain scenarios for sure, but Trump's fear mongering to housewives and pretending ANTIFA is out to terrorize the suburbs is pretty lame. I also think it's weird that his shtick is "If you elect Joe Biden, you will see the same chaos and violence that you're seeing right now under my watch." Trump seems either unable or unwilling to solve it if he in fact can.

He said it multiple times. It took me less than 2 minutes to find it once at the 55:40 minute mark.

No, he did not say ANTIFA isn't real. During the debate he referenced what Trump's FBI Director said which is "We look at ANTIFA as more of an ideology or a movement than an organization." Biden probably shouldn't have said that, but at least it's not as utterly pathetic and nauseating as the president telling white supremacists to "stand back and stand by" like a fucking psychopath.

Hmm cause the polls said it was a losing issue. He couldn’t name a single police organization that supported him. He doesn’t think ANTIFA is real. He’s a fraud.
The comment I replied to was "He made no condemnation of the riots and domestic terrorism plaguing America." That is completely wrong. Biden did condemn them and said there is no place for violence multiple times, so this is a lie.
Now you're making the excuse "because the polls said it was a losing issue" as if that's a bad thing. Elected representatives are supposed to represent the public so following what the public values makes perfect sense.
But in fact Biden has always been tough on crime -- in fact progressives shit all over him for spearheading the fucking CRIME BILL and being too tough on crime.
Police unions are TRASH (I repeat: police unions are trash) so them not supporting Biden is a positive in my mind. But many law enforcement professionals have endorsed Biden ( https://www.wispolitics.com/2020/biden-campaign-more-than-190-law-enforcement-officials-across-the-nation-announce-support/ ). My policy lynches are That1 and Skitlez right now. The former for inactivity and the latter for negative town utility. No one has claimed Miller yet, so I’m assuming either That1 is Miller or a Miller doesn’t exist. If a cop exists then I’d advise them to be mindful of a a mafia affiliated affiliation manipulator.
This whole post is useless lol. There is no negative town utility to a townie RB if the RB simply doesn't use their role (or uses it effectively). They can waive it so I don't think that role is inherently anti-town. I also happen to believe the role claim for now.
Stating there is either a miller or no miller is... obvious.
And I don't see why you would advise a cop that there may be an affiliation manipulator. Duh? Is this a way of saying if you are investigated scum, you want to blame a framer? This current "movement" will similarly overreach, becoming loony in their list for far left policies, and the rest of the country, the rational majority, will come out in Nov and nip it in the bud.
The left is calling to defund the police and the right is calling for mass police reform.
Two weeks ago if you told me Fox News would be calling for more body cameras, squashing impunity, better oversight, less tolerance for aggression, less force in policing, less militarization of police, etc. I would have told you that you were smoking crack.
Today mayors of big cities are on TV openly criticizing police unions. That was unheard of a few weeks ago. So was Republican Justin Amash's bill to end qualified immunity for cops.
If the left has to "settle" for mass police reform lol mock their movement all you want... they won.

Why restructure for the pitifully small percentage of police who are bad actors? Prosecute the bad actors. That's the only solution needed.
What's pitiful is the amount of cops who are too cowardly to call out bad actors. If you think it's just "a few bad apples" or whatever you are painfully ignorant (and I do mean painful) to the amount of abuses cops commit and get away with day in and day out, and have for many years. You obviously know nothing about how police unions cover bad cops and protect them from being disciplined or fired. And I assume you have no idea that police misconduct lawsuits cost tax payers hundreds of millions of dollars every year because they're shielded by immunity laws that literally let them get away with murder while the rest of us are bullied and harassed for minor infractions. It's sickening. I'm so happy this is happening and the country finally sees these aggressors for what they are. It's time for reform and reform includes a redistribution of funding away from police.
Created:

IN MN, the MPD is 800 offers. Four of them are bad apples.
The systemic problem of racism and corruption in law enforcement has been rampant for many years. Minnesota has a history of police misconduct, though the movement certainly isn't limited to that state.
What happened to working within the system already established. I'm talking abut the judicial system as established by the Constitution of the United States, and that of every State in the Union. You know, the system in which suspects are charge, the prosecution pleads its case, and the evidence either convicts bad actors, or defense successfully denies it. Tat's how it's done, folks, and it has worked for 230 years. What's change? A clock? Sorry, no clocks in the Constitution other than expecting results in a reasonable period of timer. If that's not immediate from care to conviction, that's too damn bad. It still works much more often than it doesn't.
Policing has gotten progressively more militant and the Supreme Court has had to curb over-policing through the years. So no, the methods of policing are certainly not concrete and they certainly have not remained the same for 230 years.
Meanwhile, how many backs have been murdered by other blacks - Don't those black lives matter, too?
Yes. Black people are convicted when they are caught killing other black people.
White people (especially cops) often get away with little to no punishment for killing a black person - that's one of the issues being highlighted. Cops often kill black people because they automatically fear them - that's one of the issues being highlighted. Black neighborhoods are overpoliced leading to higher crime rates (and the cyclical nature of poverty and crime once you have a criminal record) which is another issue being highlighted.
I'm not sure why you would focus on black on black crime as if that undermines the problematic nature of the issues being highlighted. Do you?

@Imabench
it would not be such a big issue if that parameter to narrow down the field instead be based on race
It would because he already committed to picking a woman, so this implies there aren't any competent black women or women of color. Stacy Abrams and Kamala Harris are both desperate to be VP, the latter being more experienced and a better asset to Joe. He needs a pitbull on the campaign trail and she's the best candidate for that these days.
