I find it interesting that this poll is split half and half.

****The voter must base their decision on the content of the debate****Is stuff made up by the voter "content of the debate?"
No. If the voter is putting their own spin or arguments into the RFD, then it's insufficient.

I apologize that I forgot about the debate and didn't get a chance to look it over.

Hi all -
So on debate.org there was a debate voting club - a group of people who would make sure each debate gets at least one high quality vote. These members can also be contacted if you wish to setup a judicial voting debate.
I hope that such a group can encourage more high quality debates and high quality votes. Of course you do not have to be a member of this group to cast a vote.

Most of the time there are multiple reports for the same thread. The mods generally read what's going on around the thread to get a good idea of the context. In cases where one post is reported for a person, if we have multiple COC violations in a given thread, we will usually see it and won't need to be reported.

What I'd like to see is something where you have to select a reason for the report and then write a comment on why you believe the post should be moderated.
Same thing with votes. WHen a vote is reported state why the vote should be removed.
I'd also be open to limiting 5-10 reports per day

@Raltar
DDO had several ways to "block" another person
- Block from accepting debate
- Block from challenging debate
- Block from friend requesting
- Block from sending message
- Block from posting comments and tags
We should also have the ability to block from posting in forum threads that a user creates and possibly block from voting on debates.

Thanks for the feedback!
I'm not sure if I agree with not being allowed to see another person's content if you block them. That could cause some issues with quoting and interactions.

Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah I agree with you in that because DART feels like DDO it draws people in. That being said we do need something to be able to distinguish ourselves from them.

Some/most bans are temp bans. When you wish to close an account it becomes tricky since there’s no way to contact us to reopen it so it is pseudo-perm

the second one can definitely use some help wrt the messaging. Though we are working on overhauling our messaging to support group chats

This is an update to the last post about the homepage. As we were discussing some things about it, we are considering redesigning the entire site to create new features and to get away from the DDO-esq feel.
I have two concepts I want to present to the community:
The first link I really love the homepage layout. The homepage, as others mentioned, should have dynamic content to it. The latest activities will feature the latest debates and we'll have a list of new members and featured members as well.
The second link I also really like. One thing we are thinking of adding is the ability to add friends and create groups. A twitter-like profile page could enable you to create status updates, add photos, and possibly have a space for your own personal blog.
Again, these are just concepts and we are not going to implemented it exactly. We want to throw it up to the community for discussion.

Thanks for nominating my debate. I really don't think it was that great of a debate though.

We don’t have a feature to close your account. We can ban the account, but that’s not reversible. Talk to bsh

IMO we would attract better and more people if we had higher quality debates and more good votes.

for an elite debate we could potentially create a serpersre voting standard or at least discuss how we should apply the rules.

Not really common knowledge any more. The links were more towards brain scans than anything.
