Well, it's not a problem for me to add the thing but could you guys create a topic somewhere and ask what other people think? It's all new to me and I don't want to mess up the whole situation implementing things without giving it a proper thought.

So I've talked with some guy that understands something about all that stuff and apparently, what you are talking about is gender but on the profile page we have sex therefore only two options are available. So I don't think it's gonna change since it's a different thing.

Thanks for the feedback! Well, I am not sure if it's gonna change a lot, I guess it'll be more clear once there are other sections on the website so we know how to structure things the best way.

Profile pages now have information about the user's comments, votes and forum posts as well. That's taken me a while but now we've got it. It's still a subject to changes but at least it's something :)

Yeah, editor is a tricky thing and it's really hard to make everything work properly, hopefully it's more usable now :)

And folk, please, if you find some new bugs or problems, don't be shy to tell me about them, don't torture yourself trying to find a workaround. 

1) Added notifications for the debate participants about the new votes. By default, email notification is off, you'd need to enable it to start receiving emails.

2) Added links to debate comments and votes ( those #1, #2, #3 thingies )

3) Hopefully, fixed the bug when the editor wouldn't work on the page load.

4) Added the "characters left" counter for the argument creation page.

Well, simply put, there is this editor init function that should run every time the page is loaded but sometimes it didn't trigger and the editor didn't work. At least that's my best idea.

I think I've found the problem. Will push the fix tomorrow, hopefully it'll work properly.

Hi there! At the moment I am working at the profile pages in order to show users' comments, votes and posts which is gonna be quite handy for both users and the mods.  And I am also on vacation so don't want to spend too much time in front of computer, if to be honest haha

Regarding the editor, I've done some changes to it which I thought could help but apparently not so I am not exactly sure what may be causing this issue. Also it doesn't happen to me so it's even harder to trace. I am wondering if could actually help me with it? It would be really helpful if when it happens, you could open the Developer Tools of the browser ( it's not hard to find ) and then see if there is any output in the Console tab because usually if something breaks, there has to be some text written in red. Thanks :)

Yeah, that's a really good point, I also thought about the same thing, the problem here is that deleting votes after the debate is finished is tricky because the ratings change depending on the participants' rating at the moment when the voting gets finished. So lets say that you got 15 points for the win and the opponent lost 15 points and then in a couple of weeks, you want to remove some vote and possibly change the debate result and reassign the points and that's where the problem occurs, I don't know how many points I should reassign. It could have been any number and there is no way to find out that it was 15, in this specific case. So I am not saying that it's impossible to do, it's just not a matter of 10 mins so I'll probably get back to it some time later. So it will be there, just later.

Yeah, when you click on the flag, it sends the request to the server and awaits for the response, when the response arrives, only then it changes the icon so that's why there is a lag in the animation. 

Kinda. Supporting images can be a headache so to speed things up on the first stage, I simply disabled them but I will add them later if there's a way to support them properly :)

Added a way for the mods to mark forum posts and debates as handled. Those posts and debates can be distinguished by a presence of a green check icon indicator.

I am going for a vacation starting tomorrow so the updates will slow down and I may be unreachable sometimes so don't panic :)

The flag here also changes the color after one click so there's no need to click more than once, the hover effect is messed up though, I agree, I'll try to do something about it.

Truth is, there is not much to be done when the voting period is over ( it's impossible to delete or edit the votes without messing up the ratings of the participants ). I may try to find a workaround at some point but I don't know how and when yet

Made leaderboard columns clickable to allow simple sorting.  Didn't spend too much on the UI so it's a bit ugly.

I think it would make sense to discuss the improvements in the platform dev thread and discuss the bugs and errors here.

That's also on the list :) The site is only 2-3 months old so a lot of features are missing but we're getting there, just a matter of time.

My strategy is to first finish the simple things and then move to the more complicated ones so it will be here, just give me some time. I still lack free time because of the work and a couple of personal matters but I still try to find some time and make people happy with some new simple features :)

1) Added a required rating setting for the debates. It's used to limit the minimal rating for the contender to accept the debate.

2) Added characters per argument setting for the debates. It's used to specify the max number of characters per argument. The allowed range is 100 - 30,000.

Yep, that's a good idea, will do.

The idea with min/max ELO makes sense only when we have enough people that have ELO not equal to the default 1500, so it will be there later, that's for sure.

Regarding narrowing the opponents, I believe someone has already suggested a similar idea and it's also gonna be implemented in some way or another.

So the one issue that comes to my mind is that you are starting to use the editor before it's completely loaded, which takes some time, probably around a second, give or take ( editors are built with lots of magic and it takes time to load 'em up ). And the truth is, there are not many ways to go around, maybe blocking the whole editor until it's loaded to prevent confusion but that's also not the nicest of solutions. Anyway, could you please let me know if that's actually the issue or it happens after the editor has been loaded anyway?

Does it happen only with the quote button or most of them?

Any chance you are using MS Edge? I discovered recently that there was a problem with it.

I've barely had any time this week but I found a few hours to implement the button for the mods to delete the debates (so now it's way easier and they don't have to go through me) and also I've added a reporting buttons for the debates as well.

I know it's not much but hopefully soon I'll have much more free time and progress much quicker.

Yeah, it's a lot of work from many points, design, storage, functionality to support it and etc but maybe we'll go for it at some point, when everything else is already good enough.

I am afraid that it's lots of work to implement it properly so I wouldn't expect it on the early stages, if to be straightforward.
