1. Filter by ELO
2. Member Search
3.  Filter by "Last A
I think the first two could be done via the leaderboard, you can order by ELO rating there and you can use a simple search to find the members. But the idea is good, I will look into it, for sure.

Understood, thanks a lot. One condition that comes to mind when it could happen is if the instigator was blocking him, the blocked people cannot accept challenges. But apart from that, I am not sure.

Question about top header for the website

@TNBinc
Hi, so the issue happens because at the moment the website is going through a "renovation" process and some pages already have the new layout and some still have the old one.

Debates should not disappear, something is not right here.  Could you please give more details on what exactly happened?

Also, has anyone else had the same problem?

The new debate summary page

@Barney
I am afraid dropping some info to make it minimalistic is not an option because Google runs mobile-first crawlers and if something is not present on the mobile version, it will not be indexed. I will think about the idea with another tab, that could work out. But if to be honest, using a website like ours on a mobile device is doubtful experience, especially when actively participating in debates or the forum, so I kinda of develop the mobile version with a "good-enough" approach so that it would be usable at least to some extent and to please the search engines, of course :/

Thanks a lot for feedback! And yeah, that's the expected layout because on the mobile devices screen is really narrow so everything fits only vertically. But as the screen gets wider, the layout adapts.

(900th topic) What is the max/min cap on the ELO on this site?
-->
@Intelligence_06
Oh, this site is far from populous. there is barely anyone even 400 away from the initial value. There is only a single person.
Yeah but it gets more difficult to get the points after reaching some rating so I guess it's one of the reasons. The other one is as you said, the site is not that popular.

@Intelligence_06 has answered it for me :)

The site is going through an update stage and at this point I have updated only the auth pages, the forum and the debates page. As it was pointed out, the new design is way more friendlier for the mobile devices but here and there some sacrifices had to be made.

@Barney
Yeah, I think that's exactly what I am going to do. I am not sure about the implementation details but the votes will definitely be deletable on later stages.

I am redesigning the debate's page, which is probably the most complicated page on the site and after that, everything else will be much quicker  once it's done and we can also rethink many things about debates along the way, including the number of active debates per user, the requirements to be able to create new debates, votes deletion and many other things :)

After reading debates I can't find the vote button
-->
@simplybeourselves
Best I found was Kialo before this but despite the fact that the system itself was great some of the moderators and admins of the site seemed biased and would disallow claims from views they disagreed with even when they were more reasonable than the claims they agreed with.
Kialo is a nice website but as far as I remember their format is different from what we have here.

The leaderboard and the ELO system and everything ....... this is my heaven. Hopefully someday the site will have more active members but I'd rather a few reasonable members on a wonderful website than a website with many members that is no good.
Yeah, I hope so too. My plan is to finish the new design and then start advertising and see what happens, hopefully we'll have at least 100 active users and things will get more interesting. Also we'll have some features that don't exist on other websites, so that's also exciting :)

There will be a mechanism to earn those coins on site, I think that's a good idea but first I need to finish the redesign of the site and add more things to spend those coins on.

@David
Is there a way to get rid of the "battles" in the quality ratings?
I am afraid not, at least not a reliable way

@fauxlaw
thanks for the enlightenment. That explains why the list changes so frequently and why it does not distinguish a no vote condition. That, I would be happy to see changed re: policy, not necessarily the quality or hot list. I don't believe any debate should finish without at least one vote, even if voting period has expired.
Well, changing the logic that would prevent debates from finishing unless they have votes are rather big so it would need to be discussed with the community. But I can improve the quality debates algorithm and show only those that have at least one vote.

"Quality Debates"
-->
@fauxlaw
So the idea is extremely simple.  Off the top of my head, the system simply finds all the debates where participants have a rating higher than 1520, where status is `finished` or 'voting' and no arguments have been forfeited and then just picks random 5 out of those. At least that's how I remember. My idea behind it was to expose debates of good quality because we have plenty of debates that would simply scare new people off since all the arguments are forfeited or anything like that. But I am up for adjusting the system and defining the "quality" in this case.

Related to tags, it would be cool to be able to see a complete list of them.
It's not difficult to implement from the server point of view but frankly, I have clue how to design the page for that :/

@RationalMadman
Suggestion 1: Allow us to tag people in our 'original post' of a topic, rather than needing to tag them in an additional post.
It's not urgent so most likely I will add it only on later stages.

Suggestion 2: Make it so that when opening profile images in a new tab, they open on another tab rather than force-downloading onto your hard drive.
I am afraid you lost me here,  can you please elaborate?

Currently, tags have casings based on the casing of the first one to make the tag. This is a problem for future users of it.
Yeah, that's a very good point, I should definitely do that.

Hi, I apologize for the late reply. I have only 2 ideas about the things that can cause this problem. The first and the most obvious one is that the emails may go to the spam folder, so please make sure they are not there. Another one is that we have a limitation on the website that makes sure that you don't get more than 1 email per type per 5 or 10 mins, I can't recall. So basically if somebody mentions you 3 times in a range of like 3 mins, you will get the email only once. It's a flawed logic and I will fix it at some point.

It checks that the debates are rated, have open voting system,  the status is either `voting` or `finished` and max only 1 forfeited argument.

What is one reason DDO fell apart.
-->
@PressF4Respect
tbh this site looks very good. It's clean, uncluttered, and has the kind of polished look that makes aesthetically pleasing.
Thanks! But I am afraid it's still a mess, you've probably noticed that we have 2 versions of the website, the old one and the new one. The old one doesn't support the mobile devices and in general doesn't look that great, definitely not like it's 2020, more like 2005 and I am trying to make it look at least like 2015, considering that I have to do all the designing and I frankly absolutely have no skill in it.

So based off of the relative value of the potato salad and DART, I'm guessing a GoFundMe of DART would get around 10 million lol
Haha if only ...

I think I will finish the refactoring to make the website look good and then dedicate time to advertising instead of developing otherwise we'll never have people here.

ads here
I've added those "ads" there coz I do believe in what Brave has to offer, especially for the ordinary people that don't want to spend lots of time to set up their browser.  So all in all, it's a great product. And obviously it's a referral link,  so they give me their tokens if somebody actually starts using it. So it's a win-win, as far as I can see it.

Well, the fact that adding a new comment is considered to be an update is fine, in my opinion. I think what you are talking about is the sorting method, which, by default, is the last update timestamp, so the most recently updated debates go to the top and we could easily change that to the publication date timestamp, but it's hard to say if that's gonna be better. Let's ask some people about it.
