But some time soon, I may create mobile pages at least for some parts of the website, to help the users and please the google search engine.

@Muffins
It's not that easy to implement a mobile version, it takes lots of time and effort to come up with a nice design that works on many devices. Bootstrap is a piece of crap that not only messes up the css styles, but also works only for small sites, otherwise it becomes a huge pain the ass. Also its a hobby project and I have very limited time to work on it so that's also an issue.

I am on vacation but I don't have so many things to finish, hopefully will be rolled out soon enough :)

I had had this website for quite some time before DDO started to go down. I just decided to quickly translate it to English because it wasn't used by anyone in the Russian community. I mean, even our president doesn't debate, why ordinary people would? haha

@LordLuke
The problem is that I barely have time to work on the website ( I still have a full time work and some other activities ), leave alone to actively participate, so I just chose to work on the features instead of fully participating.

@MisterChris
I've already added `History` on my local dev server so it will be there 100%, I also like the second idea. Could you please create a separate topic about your idea? It could help us see what other people think about it and also maybe some edge cases will be brought up which could complicate the implementation.

@PressF4Respect
It's a bit off topic because I wanted to ask only about improvements for the debate pages but I will implement name change at some point, it's not exactly difficult, and there's definitely going to be a quota on how often it can be done ( not often ) and some tracking logic for the mods and maybe other users too.

@WaterPhoenix
Oh got it, thanks.Like, the thing that let's you scroll between the debate pages at the top so you don't have to scroll all the way down.
Well, it's a design issue, I will try to find a place for it but it may prove to be tricky without messing up the design :/

@Barney
Yep, that's a good one, you have mentioned it in the other thread and it will be done, but probably not for the general list of the debates but for the debates on participants' pages.First as a reminder, a forfeited icon would be useful
Something related that could be neat is a set of length indicator icons to imply the total character count for the debate (related, but not to be confused with character limits per round).
Could you please elaborate on this one? Do you mean character count from all the published arguments?
I've said it before, but people sometimes overlook the color coding. So please add text for pro/con near the top of the debate. Such as on this debate, instead of "Celeb" and "Ragnar" ... "Celeb - Pro" and "Ragnar - Con" ... Probably way too late, but Neg would be a decent term substitute for Con to decrease confusion with contender on the debate setups.
That's a good one, I will try to add it somewhere. Yeah, English is not my first language and sometimes it complicates things, especially when it comes to the more narrow terminology, so I may have messed some things up. But if you notice any grammar mistakes or simply poor quality texts, please let me know, those are extremely easy to fix.
Another thing that would be unendingly useful is their pronouns listed in a similar location (could be an icon under their avatar or one one corner of it?). As safe as the hetero-normative assumptions are currently, making users who are different feel welcome and reminding us to call them something other than HE would be a nice touch (I expect it could slightly contribute to retention of said female and other users).
I am afraid you lost me on this one, could you please elaborate?
On the add vote tab, a link to the voting rules would be good (perhaps not the current page of all site rules, but an abbreviated page of the eligibility requirements and gist of the categorical standards).
This one also makes sense but I will try to do it a proper way, I'll talk to the mods about it :)
And thanks a lot, I really appreciate the feedback!

@Vader
@AvoidDeath
That would be a separate feature of its own, I am afraid it's too big for the current release that I am working on coz I am just fixing things and adding minor improvements.I would say a feature for things such as rap battles, and minor debates with a smaller character max
But the idea is great, I love it but rap battles are a genre of its own, maybe it would make sense to move it outta the debates scope completely and create a separate website section for them or something like that.

@David
Nah, the stuff that is used more often should be easier to access. I mean, the rules are read once, whereas the leaderboard is checked probably way more often.Yeah. Perhaps move the leaderboard to the bottom?
Created:

@David
It would be difficult to find space for it in the header, I am afraid. On most websites that I know this stuff is always on the bottom :/ What we can do is to add warnings here and there with a link to the rules saying something along the lines of "Hi there, please read the rules <here>".Move the link to the rules from the footer to the header. Too many people don't know where to find the rules. Putting it in a more prominate place would be helpful.
Not sure about the second suggestion, you want to make open challenges the default sorting algorithm?

Hi there, I was wondering if you guys have some suggestions regarding additional information that you'd like to see on the debates' pages? And also maybe some new indicators or anything like it for the debates on the debates list page?
Created:

@Barney
This topic has been brought up multiple times and I will do it at some point, it's just not as urgent as some other issues so it gets postponed. Also it could bring some SEO issues but I guess nothing serious. Anyway, I will get create a new topic and ping you there when I start working on it so that we could all decide what goes where and what new categories need to be created.

@Vader
It's mostly inner stuff ( security, code quality, performance and etc ) but also a few nice additions to the website, nothing big but useful.

@RM Thanks!
Also I wanted to point out that I have been working on a huge update so that changelog hasn't been updated in a long while, so don't get scared that the website is not developed any longer.

@Ramshutu
So the idea is to basically create a whole concept of "anti" medals, which are given for the achievements in the opposite direction? ^_^
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@Barney
Despite how funny I find the idea, I am afraid it would be a tricky one because in my understanding all medals should be achievable in one direction ( if that makes sense ) but by introducing this medal, a person who chases the idea of having all medals would first have to go to the bottom and then to the top ( or the opposite ) and that's like two-side direction, because the closer you get to some medals (king of the hill), the further away you get from the other (underdog, as you suggested).

@NotClub
You can search the leaderboards, there is a search box.User Search
DART App (don't know if there already is one but...)
As I replied in the platform development thread, I don't see how it can be done with 16$ of income, it's not enough to hire even one Indian for an hour.
Leaderboard Corrections (it's super hard to find your place on the leaderboard, I would suggest another leaderboard search that actually showed your place on the board
Fair point, currently you can just search for yourself, which is not optimal but works. What do you mean another leaderboard search? I am not sure I understand.

I am even thinking about implementing a small section on the website dedicated specifically for that, shouldn't be difficult if I manage to come up with some design :/

@TheRealNihilist
Such a simple question turned into a mess haha
Sorry, maybe I misunderstood the question. Anyway, if the user is banned, you cannot mention him in the comments or posts, you cannot challenge him for a debate and some other things, so yeah, it has limitations.

Hey guys, sorry for the long reply, it's been a busy couple of months, I will try not to forget to add those in the next big release, I hope to finish it in a 2-3 weeks but I failed on the deadlines a few times already :/

I've changed the names of maybe 4-5 people in the last half a year so it's a simple process from my side but it may be confusing for the other users so we should come up with a procedure for that.

I think there are browser extensions that somehow add dark modes to the websites, check them out, maybe they'd be useful.

@A-R-O-S-E
Probably, but there'd have to be a separate section for the preferences like that and that would take a while, so I think I will implement it but probably not before some more important things :/Can there be an option to not auto-sub to forum threads you make?

Oii, don't talk shit about javascript
Javascript is crap, sorry mate. It can't even sort array properly ->
[7, -4, 4, -1].sort() -> [-1, -4, 4, 7]

@Wylted
Javascript is a piece of crap and it takes some time to learn all of its gotchas. These days I'd suggest that you learn Typescript instead and then just compile it to Javascript, Typescript solves some issues and types are super useful too. But it's worth pointing out that if you didn't have any programming experience before, it doesn't matter what language you're gonna learn, it's gonna take a while. And it doesn't even stop when you learn how to use the language, there are so many other things that you need to know. So don't worry, take your time and enjoy the journey. The best way to learn something, at least for me, is to have an idea of what you want to implement and start working on that, it may be some simple mobile app or a website, doesn't matter, just something that would be interesting for you. That's how I came up with an idea for this website :) Learning for the sake of learning is not a great idea in my opinion.

@Wylted
So the iframe that you are talking about is probably the one created for the text editor and it is safe because it renders the content from this website, not from any external source. This is just a trick for the rich text editors, most of them use iframes for that. But when the website can be loaded through an iframe on the other website, that may cause some issues.
A quick example of some nasty thing that could be done using Iframe:
Potentially, a malicious site could load your site as a full-page iframe and make it seem like they're actually visiting your site, say your login page. In front of this iframe they will overlay an invisible form, with a text field in front of both your site's username and password field. When an unsuspecting user tries to log in to your site, they'll actually be filling out this malicious form and sending their login credentials to the malicious site

At some point I even wanted to create a separate section of the website dedicated to Mafia but it proved to be too time consuming.
But if there is something I can do, we can try but it has to be something useful for all the users.

The idea behind it is nice I think, also it allows you control how much ads you want to see, so you can earn more or less from viewing it and I believe those ads don't do the tracking as much as Google ones do.
