Is Bernie a far left winger? It’s a pretty simple question and pretty simple answer. Yes. If you deny this then there’s not much to argue because we have a fundamentally different opinion on semantics

Trumps networth has gone down too. First President in modern history to have his networth drop. “Corruption.”

@HistoryBuff
The democrats are the centrist/center left party. The republicans are the extreme right wing party.
If this is true, why is Sanders winning? He’s a radical progressive and very left wing.
Created:
one interesting thing is that Sanders often lets others be the author on bills so that they can look like the hero. His goal is to get things passed, not to get glory and electoral points. (see amy klobochar constantly bragging about her shitty record). Letting other, more power hungry, politicians take the spotlight and only caring about getting good laws passed is the definition of putting public service above your own benefit.
Proof?
in nevada he won in almost every category, Left leaning, right leaning, moderate, white voters, voters of color, unionized, non-unionized, with a college degree and without one. He won in virtually every single category (the only one he didn't win was voters over 65).His supporters are pretty much everywhere, in all categories. Saying his support is only young people shows you really aren't paying attention.
His support is among the populace that is very liberal. Demographic most likely to be very liberal? Young people. And in case you didn’t know voters over 65 are much much much more likely to vote in November; combined with the fact that they’ve lived in a world of communism and socialism, they are extremely less likely to support Bernie Sanders. Moderate Democrats won’t support a radical like Sanders. Enough of them will stay home or vote Trump so that Bernie doesn’t win.

So it’s only moral for people who commit to public service to be millionaires or billionaires? Every other method is immoral ? Talk about elitist
Created:

@HistoryBuff
Bernie spent a lifetime devoted to public service and helping people. Bezos designed a website that sells stuff. He did it really well and deserves to be rich.
By passing only 7 bills on 30 years? Gimme a break. He hasn’t done anything to help the people. His support runs among young people who have no idea what they’re talking about (Source: I’m in highschool).

After he became a millionaire his tweets magically stopped mentioning millionaires and billionaires. Now it’s just billionaires.

He’s a millionaire, end of story. Doesn’t matter how he earned it. He’s a millionaire. Full stop.

If he cared about his beliefs, he wouldn’t be a millionaire right now. That’s all I’m going to say.

<br>true. bernie will beat trump by more than what the polls say.
We will see 🤷♂️
agreed he is the most likely nominee. Disagree that moderates do not like him. He is the most popular senator in the country.
Correct but that’s just with Vermont which is very D+15 as a state. Slightly misleading to say he’s the most popular senator in the nation. (He is but it doesn’t mean much).
lol vulnerable to what? They are using the same lies that have been thrown at him for years. They have nothing.
He’d be slaughtered in any swing state or swing congressional district. Radicals like him were practically wiped out in House races in 2018.

Amen. Every moderate Democrat I’ve asked has said they would write someone in or leave it blank if it was Trump v Sanders. One teacher that I have is extremely moderate. He’s pro gun but a heavy Biden supporter. Even he said the only person who’d scare him is Bernie Sanders in which case he’d write himself in. And he hates Trumps guts. Absolutely abhors him. It says something.

@Greyparrot
Bernie or Bust spells disaster for the Democratic Party. Candidates in the mold of Bernie Sanders got slaughtered in 2018 by their own party or the GOP. It’s funny to think that Democrats will somehow hold the House with Bernie and Trump at the top of the ticket.
Created:

@HistoryBuff
polls show that Biden and Sanders would both beat trump. Sanders in particular is well placed to beat trump.
A.) Polls this far out don’t mean anything
B.) Remember how the polls worked out last time?
On a a side note, Joe is practically done. Sanders is gaining in South Carolina. If Joe doesn’t get first, he’s done. The nominee will likely be Bernie Sanders who moderates do not like. Anecdotally, these moderates are scared of Bernie Sanders whenever I’ve asked them. They wouldn’t vote for Trump, they’d leave it blank or right in someone. Last night proved that Bernie is very vulnerable. He got lucky the person who attacked him was Bloomberg.

He’d beat anyone on that stage. The thing that struck out most to me was the pledge to not support the person who got the most delegates after round 1 at the convention.

Moderate Dems in Trump districts voted for faux impeachment. They won't hold their seats no matter who gets the nomination.
Probably, but the chances go much much higher coupled with Bernie at the top of the ticket
Created:
you have underlined exactly why your point is irrelevant. You only have a tiny sample you are using. Perhaps in your specific town/city that is true. You have no information about the other 99.999% of the country.
Im not arguing lol. Just stating what I’ve observed from people close to me who despise Trump’s guts 🤷♂️
Republicans will likely end up voting for trump no matter what. The idea that any democratic candidate could get enough republicans to vote for them to make a difference is a joke.
I agree Republicans will vote for Trump is Bernie is the nominee. If it’s not Bernie, they won’t vote for the Democrat, they just may not vote for Trump either.
this is a fundamental misunderstanding of how politics works. The idea that such a thing as a "moderate" exists simply isn't true. If you asked someone if they are a progressive or a moderate most people would say moderate. If you asked them what they think of specific progressive policies, most would support them.
Candidates that are much much more moderate than Bernie Sanders have more people supporting them combined then Sanders and Warren combined. That’s all I’m going to say. Not to mention the fact that Democrats didn’t win the House with candidates in the mold of Bernie and AOC, rather in the mold of moderates. Moderate House Democrats are sounding the alarm over a Bernie nomination...
Created:

@HistoryBuff
do you have any evidence to support that hypothesis? Polling shows he is the most popular senator in the country. His supporters are predominantly working class people who realize that the economy is designed to screw them over. These people are not "very liberal". They are just people.
I could look up stats but I’m not going to. I’ve asked my teachers who are these Moderate Democrats. Each and everyone has said they’d have some serious soul searching to do if Bernie is the nominee because he is radical. It’s anecdotal but it’s widespread in my case. Even Moderate Republicans who dislike Trump (Never Trumpers) told me that if Bernie was the nominee they’d vote for Trump in a heartbeat because Bernie is a radical. Even if the divide between Moderate and Progressive is 20-80 and 7-8% of the 20% vote Trump it choose not to vote at all, benefits Trump.

@HistoryBuff
sanders is, by far, the biggest threat to trump. He is one of the most popular politicians in the country. His ethics and morality are virtually unquestioned. If Sanders becomes the nominee, Trump is in real trouble.
He’s only popular among people who are very liberal. There’s a fracture in the Democratic Party between Moderates and these Progressives. Moderates will either stay home and not vote for either or vote for Trump. It’s essentially a battle between Socialism and Capitalism in which no Moderate will vote for Socialism.

I personally think technology will evolve (it has been evolving) to account for this climate change whether it’s true or not. Remember Thomas Malthus? We won’t have enough food? His prediction would’ve been right but it proved false because of the human mind and innovation.

If you are on the right, idk how you can fathom the possibility of a Democratic President with the courts on the line. Trump has like 190 judges confirmed with the help of Mitch McConnell. Two Supreme Court justices and a possible third could retire or pass away in the next 4 years. Even if you hate the man’s personality, think of the future for your kids with judges that can enforce capitalism and serve as an obstacle to socialism,You know, it was sad because many on the right were silent about the judicial railroading of Trump's associates because they believed in 2016 that the judicial system was fair, and that they would get the people on the left too.2020, we know better.

The Attorney General serves at the pleasure of the President of the United States. The real issue with the Roger Stone trial is the fact that the foreman was Democratic woman who ran for Congress and posted numerous anti Trump opinions and tweets. No one talks about that. The case should be declared a mistrial by the Obama judge who let it all happen.

I'm not hardcore GOP, but the vision from the Left right now is a ridiculous dystopia. I supported Bill Clinton for the exact same reasons I support Trump. I don't care what they do in their personal lives as long as they can take care of the country.

They’re not going to commit to peace stop till Israel is gone, it’s pretty simple.
