Respectfully, I think it's clear that I added on to what Savant said as opposed to just restating it. Also, Savant seems to be null-reading 420/Underdog at best, while I still think he's most likely town. I just am not yet willing to dismiss the idea that he could be scum. For now though, I townread him. Actually, right now he's the only one that I townread. Everyone else is null for me.

The reason I ask is because I personally scum.hunt by trying to understand the motivations behind what people say, and he seemed incredulous that you were examining his logic behind being antagonistic towards my read of 420
It’s a common scum tactic to disrupt reads town have on each other, but it’s still too early. I’m definitely more interested on why he singled out 420, instead of Barney or some else. There is definitely far less going for them than 420.

I don't know much about Underdog or if he's ever played Mafia before (I'm assuming he hasn't) but I will say that one time I was playing a game of The Resistance (social deduction board game) with my grandma. It was her first time playing the game and she kind of played dumb the whole time and acted like she didn't quite get it. She ended up being one of the spies and totally pulled the wool over all our eyes.That being said, I think Underdog is still more likely to be town than scum, but it's something to keep in mind.
So this post rings alarm bells for me. If you guys read the previous game, Casey for most of the game was just reiterating what I would say. Here he is sort of reiterating what Savant said earlier.

How much experience does savant have? They seem to be good at picking out scum the last 2 games, but just wondering if that is great intuition and not skill?I think figuring out whether that was intuition or skill will help me read savant here due to post 90.
He fucked up his first game as scum cause of fluff in Mahabharata Mafia. I don’t think he’s been scum after that. As town he’s always getting lynched or killed the first day, which was a running joke for a while. I think he’s a skilled player, with a couple of rough edges that need smoothing out.

Honestly your logic makes no sense.if I am bad at claiming then ai will still be bad at claiming in future DPs. It's the people good at claiming that you want to remove the ability to use their strengths
You’re more likely to be CCed or just out here if you can’t effectively fake claim, which I know you cannot. Doesn’t matter if AI helps you or not.
People good at fake claiming will come up with an effective fake claim, and avoid the lynch. Just think about me as scum last game. My fake claims were pretty on point, and I basically avoided being lynched.

I guess my point is that in a game where it’s hard to distinguish who is town and who is scum, you can’t let your play look scummy as town. It’s your responsibility as town to play in town’s interests. If you mess up, you can’t expect your town colleagues to think you’re town when you acted in a scummy way. Ofc it’s a case by case basis most of the time

What I believed before, and what this game has reinforced, is that "objectively scummy" is not the same thing as being scum.
That’s true, but if there’s smoke, there’s usually a fire. I don’t blame town for lynching you because there was no town incentive for you to use the vote thief in that manner. The only explanation is an anti-town one.
Scum know how to act "objectively townie," which is why things sometimes have to come down to instinct.
That’s true but there are objective truths in the game that need explanation. Like why did you vote thief someone you didn’t think was scum. Why did Wylted shoot someone who objectively had to be town.
Scum know what the Meta is and play along with it. Also, WIFOM gets dismissed way too easily, but sometimes WIFOM works if you know how to read people.
I wouldn’t say WIFOM was dismissed. If both sides are using WIFOM, then it’s a matter of what is easier to believe. Lunatic made the correct decision in that regard.
Not that I blame you for using the strategy you did, since it won you the game, but I think it clearly wasn't in the interest of the town in this game.
I’d argue that town was to blame for their own inaccuracies. You messed up the vote thief. Wylted messed up the shot on Earth and “found” a scumslip on JoeBob. That’s 3 town deaths caused by town.

Maybe, but they both said "I think Pie is scum" and then they voted against Wylted. If they actually suspected Wylted it would have made more sense.
Luna thought I was scummy but there was no evidence to support it besides WIFOM. Then it came down to what was easier to believe as Luna laid out. Barney, idk about. He probably just wanted to end the game cause he knew he’d be killed in the night anyways.

Good job. I feel kind of bad for Wylted (less bad than if he had used his shot on Pie like he promised), but I have no idea what Luna and Barney were thinking voting to lynch town because scum "deserved to win." It did convince me that the town deserved to lose, though.
I feel you. The biggest mistake you made was using the vote thief Willy nilly. If you provided an argument, it probably would’ve saved you.
As for their decision, it was definitely right. Shooting Earth was scummy as fuck and the arguments against me were all based on WIFOM

last of me bitching about math but they are doing this thing where they are listing the x numbers on top of the y numbers, but it ends up when you solve the x is always on bottom of Y, so they should have just listed the Y numbers first. They are doing this in a very unintuitive way
