Also typical that a CCP party apologist would think they have to perfectly align their beliefs system with the leader of China instead of thinking for themselves.
I will not allow you to defame my motherland and my people and myself like this. I think for myself and I think my nation and my people are good. This is not a forced opinion. It is my own opinion. If you think "aligning with the government" and "thinking for oneself" is mutually exclusive, then good luck being an anarchist. I think for myself while align with the government, and absolute individual anarchism brings no good to society because there is little to no organization.
I will stop talking about it now, but I am so angry right now I might as well make an exception.

Can we stop talking about how you hate China with a burning passion and talk about what is wrong with the vaccination policy that I have brought up. We get your point.

It is reasonable because I am literally Chinese. Americans, many of them, don't defense like this because America isn't that united on values aligned.
Why should I be scared? My values align with the government to so much extent. Being caught up and imprisoned is what will happen to YOU if you are a Chinese if you keep this defamation shit up.
There is a reason why your people have to resort to living in 3rd world conditions while even the poorest Americans have a full belly, a television, internet and cable
China is the country to have the most efficient process of bringing people out of extreme poverty. Rich people are much more unequal in the US than in China.
Why are we talking about this? Just stop talking about how much you utterly hate my home country and talk about the flaws of the vaccination and the anti-anti-vax policy I have proposed. What is the problem and why is it impractical?

But just tell me why this doesn't work, because you seem to express disproval over whatever I said.
Then again it could be illustrated by the divisiveness of local governments from each other and the incompetence of the police force resulting not a lot of people trusting what the government does and when they do, always someone will label them a bootlicker and get away even if the act is rational(or to say, maybe there is no rationality to what they do because the people are as divided and incompetent, if not more).

Ah yes, BBC is a reliable source, obviously, for extremely obvious reasons.
But you just tried to disprove an approach using another "failed approach"(which isn't even proven on definite solid ground) unrelated to it.

But yeah, I suggest replacing the "gender" section of the profile with "pronouns". Some people have "she/them" pronouns or so and to refer to them as "her" would be wrong. In such a environment where people do talk to each other, by words, I believe this is something needed to be made clear.
Then once again, if one really wishes to be unknown, they can put "unknown" or something idk.

Speaking of which, how is it possible for 2 separate acconts to be named "Wylted"? I sent an account request as "anc2006", the internet stopped and I am not able to use that name ever. Now I am named something else, namely "Intelligence_06".
I understand this may not be impersonation and is probably actually him, just a question.

1.) Believe women (which I agree with the right on). Both sides agree on this when you get past the rhetoric of the right and left pretending like they mean getting rid of the presumption of innocence.
Or just believe whoever has the better testimony and evidence on the centre side because this isn't even remotely factional. There is no preference, and there shouldn't be one.
If I am said to be "left" and "right" on this, that is because this issue is really that biased and one-sided.

6) Firing someone for being unvaccinated (which I side with the right on)The left are funny here. They were bluffing so hard and when they found out they would be severely understaffed they panicked and backed up.
Try stripping all unvaccinated employed people of any means of purchase, bar them from shops, strip clubs, bars, stadiums, and anything that requires a lot of peope in a public space. There is no way people are willingly lockdowning themselves indefinitely just to not be vaccinated, and even then, it will be extremely little.

How would the "left" and the "right" see the Ukraine war?
The right supports Ukraine, so does the right supporting Russia, as different rightists are different. The left just stands by, exclaims, and relives their past moments as Soviet Union.

The flaw in your argument (I apologize if I'm missing anything) seems to be that you're assuming all humans are completely rational actors with perfect knowledge and complete information.
I argue that humans are perfectly rational beings, well, at least in the sense that all their actions are based on aggregate benefits and costs truthfully. No one acts if it brings more harms than benefits.
I believe it is just the illusion of “irrationality” because some of their benefit or cost vectors are not easily quantifiable. I don’t have durians for breakfast, nor do I watch Cardi B music videos, for the sole reason I don’t like it. How much one hates one thing or likes another is not easily quantifiable, but can be asserted to exist because decisions are made partially due to them.
On the resolution of "fossil fuels production should cease immediately"
In that case I would argue Con on the fact that no one has ceased fossil fuel productions ever since the industrialization of it, and that fossil fuels are still being used with existing demand, so using the present tense or even short-term future for this topic would be false.

I was questioning whether a wholly independently evolved technological A.I. would regard variable sound waves as music either pleasant or unpleasant, or just as another electronic signal to be logically interpreted.
That would induce logical errors, not run-time errors. The code can run, but not in the way it is supposed to. I would think that an AI who is insanely good at mimicking some noises can be, I don't know, repurposed? Either way, we can use machine learning and generations to just make the code generate more sounds that sound like music and less that sounds like non-music.
But checking and evaluating whether each sound is music or not still need code or AI, or it takes huge amounts of cultured people from all cultures to determine what this is. You would have seconds from a machine generating a soundwave, and days of asking people and collecting data regarding whether this is music or not, and what genre if it is music.

Wow ok, well good to know, I am also for stricter gun controls.
I haven't live anywhere even close to semi-permanently other than in NY so I can't say much about the US, but just a clear that in China, stricter gun controls(the citizens aren't allowed to have it at home, and they can only be wielded by the armed police, the military at work, etc) lead to the police force being useful and having more credit among people. The looser gun control in the US is a factor of what made the US police force less useful.
What I don't want is those conservatives who use religion to justify anything they think is good tradition immediately revolt on the streets, perhaps even with firearms, if you even ever release as much as one line of policy regarding a gradual tightening of gun rules.

Women is when you think you are one. Society determines whether one is legally a women(and in some countries, transgenderism is "illegal"---they just don't provide you such service), but some governments are lenient enough to listen to you; others are not as lenient and looks at your crotch(or does a DNA test if you are "stubborn", possibly) and automatically assigns you a gender which you may or may not believe.

Just how long is this thread. I am baffled. Most threads I create have less posts than this one has pages.
Is this perhaps the longest thread in Dart History as of now? Sure, the arguers and the ranters will just expand this topic and ignore me, but yeah, I am baffled by this topic alone without reading anything.

Yes, an AI can technically generate melodies. In fact, you don't even need AI. Just pull a code that can make the robot output random notes with random lengths in an array of possible notes and lengths, you get entry-level Jazz or whatever that is and it would not repeat until you get extremely lucky.
But if we want to make all sorts of music on AI, we would first need to write code that mimics the human brain, or how is this, let people test on it and say what genre this is?

@zedvictor4
We would need to define "music". From what music fundamentally is, if it was that simple, then a telephone dial-up motem handshake sound effect is music.
And the truth is as simple as that, but no, not that. Music is whatever people say it is. If people don't enjoy it, it is not music. Sure, there might be relatively-cracked weirdos that dig nothing other than sounds like the dial-up motem handshake, but music to one's ears is noise to one else. Maybe we need more than special cases to consider what is music or not.
But then we devolve into simple populism and divided democracy and huge amounts of things placed in the grey area which would spark debates all day long about what is music and what isn't. Should we let the record companies decide?

Exactly. If you don't put up the refutations for these reasons I will treat you like a left-wing from how this post is written.
Then, there are ways for society to function without guns and there are ways with guns. The US chose one with guns and sorta messed it all up(because it is easy?).
Created:
Posted in:
Why can’t we just make a more competent police force so that they will be able to, say, protect you from robbers the first time you call 911 so that you would have no need of having a gun yourself.
Most of society has relied less on guns than the present United States. Many countries have less mass shootings than the US. Is it perhaps a residential thing where Americans are bound to want to shoot their guns or what.

I have prepared for a verbal PF debate tournament, for the first ever time. Honestly, they have this kind of topics all the time. On balance, the benefit>harms for X, bla bla bla. Bearing the creed of that "If people vote against you, it is because your argument is not strong enough", I started looking for bombs for this kind of topics. Being a DART user inexperienced in PF debating(in which you have to actually speak to win), I forgot to take account in for execution, which my stuttering made me lose the first tournament and got me eliminated.
My main frame of arguments is as follows(Most topics in this format applies).
1. It is true that humans can evaluate benefits and costs.2. When something is done, the sum of benefits is larger than the sum of costs, vice versa(this is a basic economic principle).3. Opportunity costs exist and is the benefit being given up if one chooses to instead do an alternative act than the act that gives said benefit.4. Thus, taking account in all costs and benefits, because only the optimal choice of action results in that when accounting for the opportunity cost, the total net benefit is the most positive, humans will choose to act upon what they consider to be the optimal action every time they do ()anything.5PRO. X has been done6PRO. Because when humans do it, they mean it, thus the benefit must outweigh the cost for X's existence.5CON. Less than 3.5B people do X ever6CON. Because the average individual does not do X, thus the benefit for X is less than the costs for the average person, or "On balanace".
In other words, "on balance" debates have essentially reduced itself to an argument about the domain of where the debate topic should apply, and sadly I have yet to find a solution to counter those two head to head each other. Luckily, no opponent has tried to even consider anything close to this in PF debating.
So...change my mind, and maybe find flaws to this argument if you really want to.

Because language works differently in different places. In some languages a single word represents many ideas(which are sometimes even puns that English does not have). In some languages a sentence can be represented by a single English word. If we just just translate it idea by idea, we would lose the rhymes and the artistic value. If we keep the artistic value, there is an almost 100% chance that we will lose some ideas or add unnecessary ones.
Created:
I wouldn’t even call this act good.
You can smother all kinds of cream on a blank canvas and even lick it and it is art, yes it is.
But smother cream on a specific canvas so that it makes what the art is trying to convey less clear makes that piece of canvas, which took years to make, less valuable, Is utilitarian-wise undesirable. He has essentially invalidated more amount of work by doing less amount of work.

Suffering is just designated to the less satisfying side of things. Everyone has strength, but the people with less-than average strength is called weak. Every color in reality has light(as perfect darkness is unrealistic), but the more black ones are called dark.
It is all relative. The less satisfying things as they are are basically suffering since we expect the mean or median number of satisfaction from each event on average. Being whipped by a prison guard 24/7 is less satisfying than what the average person expects, so is being in chronic pain for years straight, that is why we call those suffering.

Why would they be entertained? They came here to see a harmonically colored piece of canvas, not someone smother cream on it.
Created:
We should rather try to define, what exactly is suffering?
If there is no suffering, then everything is because it means everything is of the same degree of satisfaction. That is what I think.
