Or people like to be friends,
But don't like interacting 'so much,
Or being 'so positive.
Created:

I'd say,
Keep in frequent positive interaction,
Is how most people become and stay friends.
People who hang out together,
Whether sitting around, eating food, drinking, video games, board games, hiking, walking,
Doesn't really matter what 'generally speaking,
Though speaking in 'particulars it can matter.
Talk of good times and bad times,
Enjoy good times memories,
Empathy of bad times,
Generally speaking fine,
People often feel more comfortable when they think they know someone,
Though it can be bad to put trust in unknown people, people can be opportunistic as Greyparrot says.
. . .
Though Topic says best way to 'start, , ,
I don't try to make friends, I think,
But if I did, I suppose I'd either just state it,
Or try to produce frequent positive interactions,
Invite to stuff, accept invitations to stuff, talk to, ask help, give help, so on.
. . .
(Passing thought)
Not everyone 'wants to be friends.
Not speaking of myself,
Just a thought, of which depends on individuals and their circumstances,
Maybe it's better to continue efforts towards some people despite,
Maybe better to give up on others.

What makes you say the USA doesn't identify culture/trade/money/political influence as threats?
For example, America used influence and money as cards against Russia, in Ukraine conflict, rather than direct combat.
That'd imply they understand it as a variable, I'd think?
@Topic
Personally I see all nations as protentional threats,
Just varies,
Since nations change, in populace, leadership, beliefs, and culture,
Sometimes they get homicidal, suicidal, assimilating,
Even in ancient times this would be a concern to keep in mind,
Though more often for immediate neighbors,
But often there'd be a far off threat traveling near,
Whether the Sea People, Macedonians, Mongols, Romans,
But tech and society improves, so everyone kept getting closer,
Communication through telegraphs, cell phones, internet, ships, trains, planes, and automobiles.
. . .
Not to mention how 'violence capabilities have improved,
Guns, and guns, and bigger guns,
Nukes, AI, and Bioweapons,
Modern technology often worries me, because I don't understand it,
So I can't tell what's true or not,
Lately it's been genetic stuff,
There's been a 'lot of genocidal leaders in history,
Lot of crazy one's too,
'And followers,
. . .
One doesn't even need to be 'crazy to destroy, though Hitler was pretty crazy I think,
. . .
I'm rambling,
I've no sudden end of the Earth predictions, can't even tell what the odds 'are,
But always seems to be the dice are rolling,
And I expect it to hit a bad number 'someday,
Not necessarily while I'm alive, though they could.
And there's been plenty of smaller conflicts, that are bad in themselves,
. . .
What is meant by a 'Global Threat though?

I'm not sure how evil is defined.
Is a sword evil, or the sun?
They lack intention, but harm can come to people from other people without intention.
I vaguely recall 'natural evil, a bad state of affairs, like a hurricane or famine.
But I'd 'think this would still require 'harm, and defined good/evil,
Maybe some people 'enjoy discordant music,
Lot of people like crying during tragic plays, or sad music.
But that's a bit relativistic and nihilistic of me.
. . .
Practically/normally speaking, I suppose some music could be considered a natural evil,
If a certain layout of it caused effects we normally consider harmful.
I suppose if music was made 'intentionally harmful,
The 'action of the maker would be considered evil,
And the music 'related to said evil.
. . .
I questioned the sun's evil, because it can burn people's skin or blind their eyes,
Even if does other stuff that is nice, like be pleasantly warm, create conditions for life, Vitamin D.
. . .
Subjective, seems to me, though of course practically speaking, people use the word evil often.

I didn't say they were obligated to pay a body part,
Though from a certain point of view,
Money is earned from jobs,
Jobs can be destructive towards our bodies,
Thus money earned is like our body,
Ever hear of paying and arm and a leg?
(Comparison of money to body is meant half seriously)
But people 'can get sued,
And have to pay money rather than 'just go to jail.
"personal injury lawsuit against the at-fault driver."
Of abortion, I don't know 'what society ought do, laws enact.

I imagine people get sued, often,
For running people over, especially if they were reckless or drunk.
Does that not imply obligation?
Maybe not their 'kidney, (In current society)
But a price is still paid.

In chess, I'd often use the same opening movements,
One's moves only 'need change according to the opponents,
'If one's own opening movements are stymied.
. . .
I wonder if it'd be financially successful for MMOs to make their games free to kids, until they became adults.
Being that adults usually have money, due to jobs,
While kids don't always, other than 'sometimes gifts from parents on certain days or allowance, sometimes they have minor jobs, like paper routes, mowing lawns.
Idea being to hook a future customer.
I suppose a flaw, would be if parents posed as their children.

X group, I think I just meant as any identifiable group.
Of influence, I think I meant cultural impact of the character.
I don't think a fandom (little works) has enough power to change popular perception of a character.
That thought is just me trying to figure out what you dislike about the action.
I wouldn't say 'agree with you,
Just trying to figure out your thoughts on the matter.
Jah, people like immersing themselves into characters sometimes I think,
Take silent protagonists, or protagonists with hidden features in video games,
The lack of character allows players to use their imagination to flesh out the character in their mind.
. .
Take customizable characters in video games,
Lot of people customize the character to look a bit like them,
Sometimes as near as possible,
Though not always.
. . .
I can understand being upset for a person ruining an 'original piece of 'physical artwork,
Such as the original Mona Lisa,
But if people edit 'copies of the Mona Lisa,
Outrage doesn't really come to my mind, currently.
I can understand being upset about copyright being violated,
Someone making money off a character they did not make.
I suppose it can be irritating if people make gross or weird art. (Subjective)
People might feel the person make-shifting their version of a character isn't a 'true fan.

Maybe they didn't factor in the cost of living, for the 1 million cost to the death penalty, so maybe it costs even more than a million,

It doesn't match most people I talk to's use of the phrase Pro Life, yeah.
Still, words can be used in different ways,
If there is more life in the world, when one kills X,
Then a person could claim to be Pro Life,
Again, I agree it doesn't fit most people I talk to's use of the phrase.
. . .
As an example, suppose a leader wants his people to live good healthy long lives,
So he starts a war, in which many of his people die, but he achieves power and success, riches for the people still alive.
Created:

To be fair, it 'does cost money to have people in jail,
Food's not the only cost.
Some people 'do suffer from hunger in America,
And one could argue malnutrition is a factor in some people's deaths.
Also other issues people could probably use money on.
Though, as our laws are now, I vaguely recall someone saying it costs more money to go the death penalty route,
I forget if that's true or not.
. . .
I'd also say, only take Best.Korea 'half seriously,
In the sense that they might be 'playing a bit, and not truly believing or meaning their own statements.

When someone does something bad, it's on them. When they do something good it's because of God. Crazy how that works.
Well, why can't it be both?
A lot of people identify God as standard of, creator, and dealer of good,
To use a story not of Christian origin.
. . .
THE TWO WOLVES
A CHEROKEE STORY
A young boy came to his Grandfather, filled with anger at another boy who had done him an injustice
The old Grandfather said to his grandson, "Let me tell you astory. I too, at times, have felt a great hate for those thathave taken so much, with no sorrow for what they do. But hatewears you down, and hate does not hurt your enemy. Hate islike taking poison and wishing your enemy would die. I havestruggled with these feelings many times."
"It is as if there are two wolves inside me; one wolf is good anddoes no harm. He lives in harmony with all around him and doesnot take offence when no offence was intended. He will onlyfight when it is right to do so, and in the right way. But theother wolf, is full of anger. The littlest thing will set him into afit of temper."
"He fights everyone, all the time, for no reason. He cannotthink because his anger and hate are so great. It is helplessanger, because his anger will change nothing. Sometimes it ishard to live with these two wolves inside me, because both ofthe wolves try to dominate my spirit."
The boy looked intently into his Grandfather's eyes and asked,"Which wolf will win, Grandfather?"
The Grandfather smiled and said, "The one I feed."
. . .
Still, I'm an Atheist, and vaguely recall something in a Bible about man not being saved by works, but faith, But Bible says a lot of things, and not all ideas of God need be Christian. My argument though, is if a man has two paths, one which dooms, one with saves, If he chooses the saved path, that paths existence 'and his own free will saved him, If he chooses the doomed path, that paths existence 'and his own free will doomed him. As God is what is good, (By 'some Theist definitions) He will 'always be there, in good acts.

I kind of ramble below,
Main point I'm curious on,
Why does this discrimination matter?
. . .
So if I understand your view correctly,
X group is identifiable in X character,
Changing X character to no longer be identifiable with X group is disrespectful, because it takes away from the public perception of the character as part of X group,
Which lessens X groups influence in society?
. .
I don't think I'm understanding right though,
As I don't think fandom have enough power to do that,
I return to my thoughts on Flags and Religion,
The 'act of changing the character, is itself objectionable, because it takes away from the characters identity in X group,
Which is seen as disrespectful to X group,
Ramifications and consequences not important, it's a matter of the act being wrong in itself.
. .
That sounds the most right to me,
I'd also suppose you mean hard to change X group,
Such as race, rather than group of people with shaved heads.
. ..
I've heard that people like to 'project themselves sometimes, in media,
A character 'looking more like them, can make this easier I would think,
I don't say this to make it right or wrong,
But as interesting piece of possible reason why for some people.
Some people I imagine just like seeing different variations of a theme/character.
. . .
Of discrimination,
I'd figure there are different 'types and 'degrees,
I discriminate all the time, from a certain point of view.
If I look at athletic people more,
Or look at one race more than another,
One hair color more than another.
. . .
A fictional character 'is fictional though,
'They are not harmed,
Though I suppose the people they are 'based on, 'might be be harmed, or feel disrespected.
Author might feel irritation,
I can understand desire to possess one's intellectual creation, copyright,
Though once it's out there, people treat it all pretty fair game.
Minus making money off the concept, until copyright expires (Usually)
. . .

I enjoyed spending a number of years not working,
But I sometimes think now and then, how much money I didn't and don't have by doing that.
I don't budget myself, but I'd save more than I do now if I did,
But I've met so many people who can't seem to save any money,
That I think it's something 'vital for some people.
I've always saved money when I have had a job,
I'm glad for it, as I avoid going into debt because of accidents because of it,
I enjoy being able to help out loved one's in their own temporary financial setbacks (Though this can be bad if loved one's are untrustworthy)
Friends and people connected,
It's good to have people to talk to, vent, ask advice.
Get help moving, ask expertise, sleep on their couch, sometimes they know about job openings.

He hasn't done any drugs,
Still delusional of a number of his past experiences and some current,
Some odd beliefs, doesn't understand society as a normal person would.
Still, he's much better than where and how he was.
Say's he's going to leave in July, as there is something he thinks he has to do back in our hometown,
I hope he doesn't leave yet,
There's still a lot that he needs, like talking to a counselor, therapy, which he has refused thus far.

I would think the farther back in time one went, the 'more color/ethnicity/race politics there'd be.
Bus protests, separate drinking fountains, KKK was bigger, Martin Luthor King got shot, race riots, blackface Al Jolson.
Not that I'm saying generations were worse,
It's just slavery existed before the Civil War (Though that's further back than anyone alive I think)
Then when it was gone, there was a large influx of identifiable people appearance/culture.
. .
Though I don't mean that 'just as a race issue,
I think there's clashes in society whenever 'any group is sudden,
Oklahoma Dust Bowl, as an example,
Grapes of Wrath,
. . .
Then again, lot of locations, eras, social movements, in history.

Way I usually hear it,
Baptism always sounded an act that signifies an individuals faith and bond with God,
Even if a baby I suppose, though in such a case it'd be the guardians stating it,
Whether because the guardians believed it, or they thought the child ought have such,
Though I 'do only ever recall individuals being baptized 'by other individuals, no self baptisms that I can ever recall,
Even Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.
Created:
-->
@Tradesecret
Well, even if there was no church or community around at the moment,
I just thought some people might still think baptism important,
Whether because they thought it an important ritual of tradition, or the individual to be baptized belief made apparent through action.
I meant the 'parent, baptize their own kid.
Created:
-->
@Tradesecret
Not a complaint or major point,
Just a minor question I had after reading.
I can imagine families being isolated without there being a priest/preacher around,
Yet having a kid, then baptizing the kid themselves,
There wouldn't be a church or community around, just the family,
So when you say 'The Church, do you mean it as an organization or as a faith at large?

People have different values,
Your solution, sounds to me, is to allow 'others to tell you how to live your life.
Doesn't matter if one is surrounded by Rabid Theists or Rabid Anti-Theists,
In either case your solution is that the individual and families personal beliefs don't matter.

I don't think noo, they're supposed to be X ethnicity,

Eh, I still feel a bit about it.
Animal Avengers
If people want to imagine it a bit different,
Maybe imagine a character more as themself, I dunno 'reason people might change race of a 'single character.
I'd mind someone damaging an 'official American flag,
But don't have strong opinions about America flag design boxers,

Eh, I'm not a Christian, but still find discussion interesting.
1, Silence can mean guideline I suppose,
People being proactive 'can be good.
2, If someone 'is mentally disabled to the point they don't understand where they are, what they're doing, agreeing to,
Well, they can't really 'have faith, I'd think.
Suppose there's some evil person all their life, they get dementia, then get tricked into getting baptized, without understanding the situation or implications,
I don't think that baptism did much.
3, It sounds there'd still need be a 'willingness and understanding of what one is willing towards.
4, False faith and action 'does sound polluting to me,
Like a politician who doesn't follow their faith,
'Might help the church in some ways, harms it in others.
5, Catholics have some good points, I'm sure.
. . .
My opinion is a parent can give their child their blessing,
Child may 'say they refuse it,
But eh, given is given,
If I say bless you to someone who sneezed, they might wig out and say they're an anti-theist,
But I might still wish them well, and already did in that hypothetical.
Still, baptism sounds more 'action of faith,
Display and promise,
Than anything magic.
Non-baptized child, doesn't go to Hell (If it were to exist)
To my thinking.
To my thinking baptism is more gesture on parents part,
Action bespeaking their love and intention to raise their child in faith, they believe correct and right.
One year old baby doesn't understand birthday,
But is gesture by family at times.

Why the fandom in particular?
I suppose 'comments and interpretations of motive and meaning, annoy me at times,
But derivative art's never bothered me.
And why skin color?
Art of characters as animals, or as Humans, seem a bigger change than race.
Hm, why one but not the other?
Comments and interpretations irritate me at times,
Because they're illogical (To my view) In their complaints about the work.
I suppose fan art can be of a different appreciation or taste,
That I don't care for it myself,
. . .
'Would I be bothered by a Cars remake of Star Wars?
Hm, I don't think so. . . Might not watch it,
But there's a difference between parody and remake.
. . .
Maybe I should be less bothered by changes, but still not watch them,
Still I don't like some remakes,
Some changes seem unnecessary to me,
Or take from the style I liked in originals.
. . .
Hm, is it because I put the art and my nostalgia on a pedestal sometimes?
Makes it sacred?
Like a flag to a nationalist,
Or religious Icons, to religions.
. . .
Then again, some original works have bothered me,
So why not derivative works?

Video
Yeah, video seems more in agreement with voice matching race,
But still I thought it interesting,
Of course voice 'would tend in race (I think),
But black and white seem pretty 'wide, for all the different people's that would fall into either category, Lot of room for variation. Similar to what you say in #52 about narrative.
Which isn't me disagreeing on the voice claim,
I just like talking, asking, sometimes.
Physical Cause
Of physical tendencies, I'd 'think, but don't know,
That metabolism or something related to food, for example, can be inherited,
My Dad would often get in a mood, if he hadn't eaten,
My eldest brother's much the same way, though he's less a grump about it,
And more it's an irritation/bother, harder to think function.
,
Course hunger hits a lot of people that way, but some more than others.
Psychology often looks a soft science in a number of areas to me (Currently), but,
- "Openness: creative, open to trying new things, happy to think about abstract concepts
- Conscientiousness: high levels of thoughtfulness, good impulse control, and goal-directed behaviors
- Extroversion: sociability, talkativeness, assertiveness, and excitability
- Agreeableness: trust, altruism, kindness, affection, and other prosocial behaviors
- Neuroticism: sadness, moodiness, emotional instability, worries about many different things
Most of the characteristics you might use to describe your own personality fall under one of these broad headings. Personality traits such as shy, outgoing, friendly, and sociable are aspects of extroversion, while traits such as kind, thoughtful, organized, and ambitious would be part of the conscientiousness spectrum.
Research indicates that heritability explains around 40% to 60% of the variance in big five personality traits."
Link doesn't say anything about race though, I think.
Men and Women
Well, not 'strictly maybe,
One can nurture over nature here and there,
Nature sometimes has outliers,
Men and women both 'human.
Bot like a human compared to a fish or bird, with their forced migration and memory of where to go,
Tendency for that I've never heard in a human,
(Humans who migrate don't count I argue, as something very different is happening with the bird and fish 'compelling and 'method of migrating)
Created:

Of psychological tendencies and race, I don't know any myself,
Though I think culture is strong.
6 Black Men vs 1 Secret White Guy,
Though I 'think the white guy sounds a bit white to me, may be because I 'watched the video.
In the video he talks of how he was adopted and where he grew up.
. . .
Human 'do mostly seem alike to me,
And I think one would see psychological tendencies in a geographical group, more than a color,
'But, if physical tendencies occur, so would psychological one's is my view.
Women and men, are pretty different they say,
Course a man of any race is a man, I'd figure,
Just another point on nature vs nurture,
I don't feel like sourcing anything, so just a claim on my part, men and women being different by nature,
Though certainly nurture closes many gaps.
Created:
-->
@Athias
The lines of race seem a bit blurry to me,
Though I suppose people who breed dogs, have some methodology,
Though humans aren't dogs,
Still, we define various species by differences, at certain points.
I suppose al black lab, is more like a golden retriever, than a black Chikwawa.
. .
I don't think all X people look exactly the same, but they tend to have similarities, I imagine.
. . .
Some people claim gayness is genetic,
Just because other races can be gay, wouldn't mean this or that race isn't more or less predisposed to gayness.
Not that I'm saying gayness is or isn't genetic,
Just an example.
. . .
Well, 'might be when human populations were smaller, and more varied, yes,
Neanderthals and Humans for example,
Not that I'm saying the current human ethnicities are as different as humans and Neanderthals, just an extreme example,
. . .
Humanity 'is pretty spread out nowadays,
Still, if a race can all share 'roughly the same color and voice, as three people argued,
I don't see why they couldn't share psychological tendencies as well.

. . .
Well,
If one can identify various physical aspects with race, skin color, voice quality,
Then I'd 'think one could identify certain psychological tendencies as well,
We're able to examine people's genetics more and more, (I think)
. . .
As for race, well, if one can claim skin, voice quality,
Then one could claim amount of testosterone,
(I'm not saying any race has more or less, or is effected more or less, just an example)
But even 'with nurture, if an entire race had higher testosterone, even with nurture,
There would be, expected social outcomes of their behavior,
Not 'certainties, but tendencies.
Created:

Oh I'd agree,
Humans are pretty genetically similar, (I think)
Though, even dogs are genetically similar, different breeds, can breed,
Yet there is large difference between breeds, in behavior, intelligence, genetics,
Not that I'm saying human races are like dog breeds,
Dogs are 'way too intentionally bred to compare to human races (I think).
. . .
Well, take dogs and wolves,
(Again, I'm not comparing human races to dog breeds, this is just an argument on nature)
Wolves don't domesticate too well I hear, unless they've been bred a bit for it.
An example of nature having a large role in action, 'despite an attempt at nurture.
Take some humans with mental disabilities (Not a race)
Nurture can do quite a bit, but that nature is always there.

Just because I 'could go literally insane if 'I were to take drugs, doesn't follow give all guns only to the government.

'There a weapon ban at least made sense, as it was a move to dismantle the samurai class,
Reduce means and ease of rebellion. (I assume)
. . .
People die a lot,
I'm not saying good, or that we shouldn't look for means to avoid death.
. . .
To maintain Freedom,
Being worthy,
You would rather cut off people's arms and legs, for fear they might kick or hurt one another,
Than try to create society that 'won't kick or hit one another, even 'with arms and legs.

Use a single shot shotgun on a bus of kids,
Shoot the driver, than just work one's way, or use molotovs.
That'd be maybe 70 kids.
People are mistaken, thinking ooh, guns scary because of minor incidents.

I'd call a geographical longstanding group a race,
A group of people, assumably with closer/shared/similar genetics to each other, than some other location.
Health among the Amish is characterized by higher incidences of particular genetic disorders, especially among the Old Order Amish. These disorders include dwarfism,[1] Angelman syndrome,[2] and various metabolic disorders, such as Tay-Sachs disease,[3] as well as an unusual distribution of blood types.[4]
The genetic problems come down to something called the "founder effect" because the nearly 150,000 Amish in America can trace their roots back to a few hundred German-Swiss settlers who brought the Amish and Mennonite faiths to the United States in the 18th century. Over generations of intermarriage, rare genetic flaws have shown up, flaws which most of us carry within our genetic makeup but which don't show up unless we marry someone else with the same rare genetic markers."
. . .
While I 'do think psychology is formed by experience, I also think that nature plays a role.
. . .
The question pops to my mind, I suppose,
Because the more traits one identifies in a group,
The less it becomes skin deep, so to speak.
'Just differences in appearance, I mean.

"why don't people consider being a christian who thinks the bible is not the exact word of God?" - Topic
Sounds to me like 'you're making it the exact message of God.
But I'm 'pretty sure there's plenty of denominations in history,
That have accepted their lack of complete knowledge in their various faiths.

Do you mean biological experiential realities, or social experiential realities?
Do you mean cultures or geographic longstanding ethnicities have to get along?
. . .
Eh, humans have 'some differences, based on geographic location,
We vary so much though, in those locations,
And are so similar to other locations, generally speaking,
Not as though we're different species, competing for living space,
Different 'cultures competing for living space maybe.
I 'think humans mostly intermingle so much,
That for the 'most part, we aren't so different as breeds of dogs, or Gallapigos Island.
Right this moment I think it's more 'culture, than biological.

I wonder what aliens look like,
I wonder what intelligent aliens look like,
I wonder what spacefaring aliens look like,
I wonder what various environmental factors would have on development and technology.
