And you’re not facing reality. The reality that Republicans have no political platform.
You lack an understanding of Republicans then. Probably because you are focused more on vilifying them instead of refuting their arguments.
But the reason this thread is important is that an outspoken member of Congress is a phony, a fraud and a hypocrite who is the antithesis of an empty chair in Congress. She gets elected using the culture wars, “I’m a white Christian with Christian values who hates political correctness and then gets exposed asfraud when she goes against the Bible and gets divorced. And she thinks gay marriage will ruin America? Worry about your own marriage.
I’d like to know who you think is blameless in this world. Besides, we don’t know the details of this divorce, and I will add on to that here that it isn’t our business. Yet none of that makes any of her stances wrong. Instead of talking about how she should “worry about her own marriage,” you should argue why you believe in gay marriage, since that was a stance of hers you took issue with.
I don’t care if she’s divorced. I want to know what she’ll use my tax dollars for. I want to know if she’ll protect children in the womb. I want to know if she’ll secure our border. I want to know if she’ll protect our parks and wildlife. I want to know how far she will go with all these things and others.
These are the same standards I give to every politician. I could talk about Elizabeth Warren’s divorce. I could talk about Amy Klobuchar’s treatment of her staff. I could talk about Barack Obama’s estranged half-brother. The thing is, none of those things are important. It doesn’t change the bills they vote on or sign.
The funny thing is, you make all this talk about how she takes advantage of a culture war, and then you promote the culture war with your “Republicans have no platform” statement. You are the real hypocrite here.
But you don’t have to be. All you have to do is focus on what she does with her job as a congresswoman. If you can’t do that, then it would be better for you to just shut the fuck up when it comes to politics.

So you take that part of post #57 back then? Because there's no way you can argue that post wasn't an accusation.
Anyways, it's pretty rich for you talk about debating skills here. You still have yet to prove this story is important in today's politics at all. I've explained twice that a wrong in one instance does not mean a wrong in another. You haven't contested this point yet. Instead, you're sticking to personal attacks and semantics arguments.
The most substantial thing in your whole argument is a character evaluation of someone whose character I have little need to care about. A smart voter cares about policy first and foremost.
I even gave you the perfect chance to air your grievances with her politics. You refused to take it because you would rather focus on frivolous hot gossip. This whole story is closer to celebrity news than political news.

Confirmation bias is a term can also be applied when you focus too heavily on such pieces of evidence, or when you make speculation with lacking evidence to suit your beliefs. The most dirt I could find on MTG with regards to her relationship are allegations of incidents that would've happened 10 years ago. Not compelling evidence. But here you are, acting like it's already proven, and dedicating a whole thread to it, no less.
You have already mentioned what you thought of MTG before the incident.
"She was horrible long before news of this divorce became public." -IwantRooseveltagain, post #71
Because of this belief, you speculate she is cheating despite lacking substantial evidence for your claim.
"Have you ever considered that someone who cheats on their spouse is more likely to have no problem with corruption?" -post #57
With your speculation, you assert she is terrible.
"She’s deplorable. Big surprise her husband no longer wants to be with her. It’s just a confirmation that she is terrible." -post #64
"The divorce just confirms what we already knew," -post #71
This is blatant confirmation bias; there is no way around it.
But let's stop to consider the consequences in the event that this divorce happened because she cheated on her husband 10 years ago, or for any other reason. It could be MTG's fault, her husband's, or both. It makes no consequence. Does this mean she is more likely to embrace corruption, as you allege in post #57?
No. There are many people who have never cheated, and still clearly are corrupt. Conversely, there are many who have done horrible things, including having affairs, and decided to make better of themselves afterwards. In fact, there isn't a single person on Earth who is blameless. This isn't a new idea, but the best way to judge a politician is to evaluate their politics. If you have grievances with her politics, go ahead and air them. It would be a welcome chance of pace. I might even agree with you on some of them, for all I know. Until then, all you've done is concern yourself with the frivolous, and waste time you could've been using to talk about actually important things (like her politics).
As for attacks on my education, they are lacking. I am on campus at a university that is renowned nationwide in my field of study. And as I stated earlier, I have no reason to look down upon those who never went to college. They made a lifestyle choice based on what they wanted in life. Some are smarter than me. Some are not. Some will make more money than me. Some will not. Some will be happier than me. Some will not. These aren't new ideas either, but they are true. Don't place too much value on a college degree.

I do. I can't believe I actually have to pull out a dictionary here, I thought people on this site would be past that.

In this case, the new evidence is this divorce, the existing belief is your "MTG = bad" belief. There ya go.

She was horrible long before news of this divorce became public. The divorce just confirms what we already knew, and now even her husband of 27 years doesn’t want to be around her.
So bringing this up is about justifying your confirmation bias. Got it. Like I said, it’s frivolous.

No, none of the above. It’s not a commie plot either. She’s deplorable. Big surprise her husband no longer wants to be with her. It’s just a confirmation that she is terrible. The same thing happened to Sarah Palin. I’m guessing the dunce Lauren Bobert will get divorced eventually as well.
Excuse me, but do you even know exactly the reason for the divorce? Even so, does a mistake or sin render someone horrible? And does someone being horrible in one way automatically mean they're horrible in all others?
People who are always crying ad hominem are rarely honest about their own ad hominems.
Oh, the irony. "is this an ad hom?" - IwantRooseveltagain 2022
The whole point of my question was to see if your own statement was the case for you.
Saying “your idiocy” is no different than calling me an idiot.
Not entirely. Everyone has idiotic takes from time to time. Even very intelligent people. But for you, I can already tell it's a pattern, so I'll say it: You're an idiot.
No, I’m contending you are an idiot (and a loser) because you are not a college graduate.
I'm currently in college, you dolt. Also, it's pretty dumb to flex a degree in the air and act like you're superior to others simply because you made a different career choice. There are many people who are decide not to go to college and still become successful. Some of whom are far more successful than you and I ever will be.

Not really. It's pretty easy for a politician to love their partner and still be corrupt, and just as easy for more "righteous" (in quotation marks because righteous is relative here, given the nature of politicians) politicians to cheat, repent, and learn.
You act like this is some kind of amazing 1000iq behavioral read. Oh, no! MTG has divorced her husband! That means she wants to "divorce" from the US and sell our policies out to Russia! The logic here is sad and hilarious at the same time. Instead of finding evidence for ACTUAL corruption, you would rather make an accusation based on issues that are completely unrelated. It's incredibly smooth-brained to think "politician did bad in this, so politician did bad here also." This isn't a mafia game or Among Us. It's the real world, where we all do something wrong at some point. The truth is that one sin does not guarantee another specific sin.
At the end of the day, this is frivolous at best. At worst, it's advocacy for some type of pre-crime judgment, CCP-style.
EDIT: And no, me calling you out on your idiocy is not ad hominem attack. Your idiocy does not make you wrong. What makes you wrong is stated above. Also, are you contending I am wrong because I'm not done with college yet?

And this is an important political issue somehow? I don’t know about you, when it comes to politicians I don’t care about their personal lives. I care only for two questions:
- What are this politicians policies?
- How corrupt is this politician?
Again, anything else is frivolous and to use it as some kind of ad hom or deflection is nonsensical. You can cry about “me no like this person” all you want, but all it does is make you look foolish and obsessed.

I don't think I want a like button on this site anymore.
For one, it takes a lot less effort to press the like button than to make a +1 post, and it takes considerably less time as well. Sure, it's all in small amounts, but I'm seeing a lot more likes on a single post than I ever saw on a single thread back on DDO, which indicates there are many people too lazy to type '+1' but not lazy enough to avoid clicking the like button. So +1 posts wouldn't be the problem people (my past self included) think they would be.
For another, the like button is ineffective at encouraging good posting. People with ideas and the want to express them will do so without a button. People who need a like button to motivate them to use their brains are not people who are going to have a smart take. They will type the bare minimum amount of word vomit needed to sound smart to some people and nothing else. On a site with so many opinions (many of them being strange ones) it can be hard to spot who's actually doing this until the button is removed and they stop posting, but there are definitely users who do this.
Finally, the like button can cause ratios. The like button as a function of quality control works well for YouTube videos (especially tutorials) and meme platforms, but on a site like this it only showcases how many people agree with you. As a result, people get unwarranted confidence in their stupid arguments because some people on the internet agreed with them. Meanwhile people get unwarranted despair in their decent arguments because no one agreed with them. This creates a user base whose logic can be summed up to being a giant appeal to the majority fallacy.
So congratulations. You've received your mild amount of dopamine from giving as well as receiving likes. For what? What pride is there in someone else agreeing with you? Who cares? If you do care, you're probably going to get mildly upset when you receive no likes or a ratio anyways. So why even bother then? Don't. Just post your actual ideas, and don't bother altering them just for likes.

Easy. In essense, because of how different the two parts (and therefore, their procedures) are, the effects are different. FGM causes urination and menstration issues, and is also linked to pregnancy complications and diseases.
The drawbacks of FGM caused by...
Urination:
Slow and painful urnination, formation of stones if scar tissure blocks normal urinary pathways, UTIs,
The tearing of tissue during the procedure:
Anemia, gangrene, tetanus, necrotizing fasciitis, endometritis, extreme pain during intercourse
Menstration:
Painful mestration, hematocolpos, hematometra, extreme swelling
Childbirth:
Extremely agonizing pain during childbirth, third-degree laceration, excessive blood loss, the need to resuscitate the baby, stillborn births
It's pretty clear the removal of the foreskin and FGM are vastly different procedures in their method and results. Therefore, comparing the two is not optimal.

Yeah, its different. Just like when you hit a man everyone calls it a fight, and when you hit a woman everyone calls it abuse. Whatever woman does is justified. When she cries, she is caring. When a man cries, he is weak and should stop it and man up. So yes, its vastly different in a sense that one is done to a girl and the other to a boy.
You missed my point. Stupid bot.
Goodbye.

How does "someone else deciding what part of my body should be cut off against my will" makes it not involuntary servitude? What exactly is voluntary in me being forced to serve your tradition?
Wrong kind of servitude, bozo. Servitude, as in involuntary labor. You have your definitions mixed up. I'm starting to think you're a bot.
I see your knowledge about North Korea comes from american cartoons.
What are these then? I'll tell you: they're sources.
Says who? Bunny the sniper?
Says the CDC.
First, the STD part is nonsense. Baby is not going to get STD, circumcised or not.
I'm talking about they reach adulthood dumbass. A human would know that.
If circumcision is so healthy, surely then the people will live longer if circumcised? How is it then that top 10 countries in life expectancy have very low circumcision rates? While the bottom 10 countries with lowest life expectancy have circumcision rates of about 90%? There seems to be no correlation between mass circumcision and health.
Did I say anything about life exectancy? No. I was talking about STD and UTI rates, which you failed to address. Probably because your programming is something like 'if disease.x = false, then health = true... if health = true, then lifeexpectancy = greater'
You fail to recognize all of the other factors playing into health, because you lack human logic.
Masturbation helps to increase life expectancy. Do you agree that I should be able to come to your house every day and force you to masturbate, if I find that you are not doing it regularly? If I find that today you didnt masturbate or have sex, I should be able to come to your house and force you? And your sister too? And your mother? Masturbstion is healthy, so...why not? You think its justified to force people, so why shouldnt I be able to do the same to you?
Circumcision is not a sexual stimuation, so the comparison to masturbation doesn't work. Also, I'm not walking into a hospital demanding parents circumcise their kids lmao. You seem to think my recommendations are things that I think sould be law. You don't seem to understand nuance. I guess your programming ins't capable enough.
Also, I need to forbid you to eat meat and fast food because its unhealthy. From now on, you cant have anything that damages your health. Do you agree? Also, I might need to take away your car. Also, some of your income will be redirected to poor people to help their health.
Dang, I'd still have more freedom than a North Korean citizen. Jokes aside, there is no law mandating circumcision in America, and I'm not advocating for one either. Likewise, there is no law banning cars, or fast food; what little redisribution we have (by taxes) only keeps people dependent on it, and therefore less likely to make the lifestyle changes they need to make.
More information from cartoons?
Nope. UNICEF.
Circumcision damages the penis. There have even been cases where people lost the function of their penis completely.
Those cases are extremely rare. For the incredible majority of cases, all penile functions remain the same.
Cutting off a bit of your ear wont damage your hearing. Can I cut it off now? And your hair too so you dont have to wash it anymore? You dont need it. Also, if you have a daughter, sister or mother, can I cut off all of their hair too? They dont need it and having hair can cause health problems.
Does the benefits of either of those outweigh the costs? No, they don't.
How is it then that North Korean population grew faster than US population who has huge immigrations? Awkward.
How is it then that you're wrong? Because you are.
I see you are not familliar with what happens in US prisons.
In American prisons, inmates harm inmates, and the guards are tasked with breaking the fights up. Not good, I'll admit, but could be worse.
In North Korea, guards harm inmates, and no one cares to stop them. That is objectively worse.
Nice attempt at a deflection, though.
We have already seen that you like violating other peoples bodies. Plus, USA attacked like over 30 sovereign countries, killed millions of people, used chemical weapons on millions of civilians... Weird.
Not relevant to the topic, bot. North Korea bans people from leaving because they will if they are allowed to. In other words, they are afraid of their government, or recognize how bad it is.
I will never justify any wrong the US has committed. You, however, will justify or deny the wrongs of North Korea.
Here is only a small amount of those: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Massacres_committed_by_North_Korea
Apparently, the South Korea is regularly sending the propaganda papers over the North Korean borders. Those papers usually promise great wealth to those who defect. After having looked at some defectors youtube channels, it seems that they only care about money and have a mental power of a 10 year old.
Discrediting the suriviors. A classic authoritarian move. In reality, they have left for a variety of reasons. The posters only let them know a better place exists.
You hate those who leave your country. You would rather they stay in, and go to labor camps for their escape attempts. This means you support slavery. Why do you love slavery? Why do you like violationg people's freedom? When the prisoners are trapped, the female ones get raped. Why do you support rape?
Of course, this is all using your logic against you. Admit to yourself your logic is wrong, or that you are terrible, if your processor can handle it.
In theory, you can. However, there seems to be no historical evidence of that. You vote out one, another one comes who is equally bad.
There have been good and bad presidents and politicians throughout US history. You can also vote in a good one. Right now, however, I will admit we have a terrible president. The thing is, he's still better than lil' kimmy.
The chance to vote someone out is better than no voting at all. You won't care because you are programmed by North Korea, or are one of their agents. Or deranged. You are evil, and you cannot convince me otherwise, no matter what you say.
Goodbye.

They cant decide about that. Not their body. Babys body doesnt belong to parents. It belongs only to baby. The opposite case would be slavery. In that case, I dont see why you oppose to dictatorship.
Losing a tiny flap of skin is far from being forced into involuntary servitude. If you want to see involuntary servitude, try wearing kimmy boy's goofy ass haircut. He'll imprison your family in a labor camp for stealing his look. I don't know why he has that cut in the first place. Mans got the minecraft steve.
No. It has no observable medical benefits for a baby.
Circumcised males have a lower UTI and STD rate over the course of their lifetime. It also prevents that nasty gunk from showing up. So nasty that I hate knowing about it. Still cleaner than North Korean water though.
"As for mutilation, it's a small flap of skin. You're not losing anything significant."Okay, can I cut off your ear? You will still have the other one, so no big deal.
Having both of your ears is helpful for hearing and balance. Speaking of balance, the North Korean diet is very balanced. No grains, no meat, no vegetables, no fruits, none of anything else! A nutritional value of 0 for every food group! Truly balanced!
Now, since you obviously like violating other peoples bodies, I dont think you have a right to speak against anyone on anything.
Speaking of violating people's bodies, you should talk to the prison guards in your country. They seem to be up to no good.
So far everything Kim family has done was supported by more than 90% of their population. You assume this is out of fear. No evidence for that. But when we look at history, its the US government who used fear to justify wars, bombarding, circumcisions, punishments, abuses of human rights, tortures...ect.
North Korea: A country with so much nationalist support that leaving the country is banned! Truly amazing! But defectors seem to say otherwise. I don't know why they escaped such a 'great' country. Maybe they just didn't like their daily prison camp torture.
But when we look at history, its the US government who used fear to justify wars, bombarding, circumcisions, punishments, abuses of human rights, tortures...ect.
Finally, we agree on something! Our government does suck! Good thing we can vote some of them out. Not a option in North Korea.

Optional? Sorry, could you explain to me how is it optional for a baby? Are you saying babies consent to have their penises cut and mutilated? Also, you say its not rape. Lets see: 1) nonconsensual 2) touching, cutting and penetration of genitals... yeah its rape.
Optional for parents to decide. Also, it's a medical procedure, not a sex act. As for mutilation, it's a small flap of skin. You're not losing anything significant.
Speaking of rape, have you heard of how women are treated in North Korean prisons?
Also, you seem to believe that North Korea is dictatorship. However, Kim family has approval rating of over 90% by their citizens. Compared to that, most US presidents dont even have 55%. Awkward.
This is because Americans have the freedom to criticize their politicians. In North Korea, you do not.
You might wanna tell your boss you're doing an awful job. Don't worry, rocket man kimmy will coddle you and say 'saranghaeyeong,' since he can say it and teenagers in North Korea can't. It's too South Korean of a phrase, apparently.

You don't know what rape is then.
Also, the procedure is optional, unlike voting for Kim Jong-Un in North Korea.

Right to self determination with masses being the masters of everything in their society is the central idea of Kim Jong Ils Juche Socialism.
Nothing says self-determination like living under a dictator!

Every illegal immigrant and their mom will claim asylum to try to get in. You think they're just going to leave if their appeal gets rejected? And how many of them have actually applied for asylum? Many of these people are here knowing they're going to get rejected or that they're not going to apply. At that point, it's premeditated crime, so we might as well call a spade a spade.
Meanwhile, we have many people applying for green cards outside of the US and their process is being slowed down because we're trying to process green card decisions for people who crossed the border before applying, many of whom will get rejected and will refuse to honor the ruling.

If you think this failed, you missed the point. Politicians make rulings from DC. They don't often care about the issues voters deal with; they would rather use their partisan lines. The stunt asks the question "How can the American public be expected to care for illegal immigrants when the wealthiest politicians refuse to do so?"
So far, it's pretty clear that politicians are out of touch and outright hypocrites on this issue. While feel-good stories about community donations may seem to let them off the hook, they really don't. It only shows politicians are more than willing to let the citizens do the charity alone, without writing a check themselves. And this ignores even bigger questions. Where is this compassion when our own people can't afford food? And what about the legal immigrants? Will these donations last, and how many more migrants are coming now that we've accepted some? We can't care for all of them, no matter how generous we get. We should give prioirty to our own citizens, be it by birth or legal immigration.

I only will only buy Overwatch 2 if public lobbies are casual.
I am not making the same mistake I made playing Fortnite. I quit that game after 2 years of playing because public lobbies became so incredibly sweaty.
