Setup has been approved. I didn’t go out of my way to make Whiteflame design a game exactly as I would, but I did have him change a few things.
My philosophy for setup help is that I don’t make people to copy my style (cause that would be boring); so I try to help others execute their styles better.
I think he cooked in the end.

Oh right. Philosophy.
wouldn’t Mario Kart be more skill based if we simply removed items? Shouldn’t we be working to get rid of red shells in our non-meritocratic society?
Sure, some of them, but make sure you have a good definition of meritocracy.
I see too many people claim that meritocracy means all of society is an arranged on a scale of how hard they work. This thinking at best fails to account for the subjective nature of what can be considered “hard work” and at worst leads to something like the Marxian labor theory of value, where the value entrepreneurs and managers bring is treated as nonexistent because they aren’t on the assembly lines.
Hard work is a good thing, but a good work ethic is one of many merits. Competency, mental strength, physical strength, experience, etc are all merits that have positive correlations with success.
All of these merits can be controlled, but only up to a certain limit. An unpleasant truth about our merits is that their limits are random. Our genes determine the hard limit for what we can do, assuming we are training ourselves as hard as we can.
And as long as free will exists, some people will be more successful than others. Therefore, some people will be born into better situations than others. This means they will have better resources for self improvement, outside of humility (humility is a gift of its own, however).
Simply put, life isn’t fair. The randomness of one’s birth and genes are red shells that you can never get rid of. And yet, the red shells do not make your choices meaningless, or your level of success predetermined.
Pure equality doesn’t exist, and therefore isn’t a reasonable goal. This is actually the strength of meritocracy. Since different people have different skill sets, and different levels of overall skill, some people are more fit for certain jobs than others. Those who are best at achieving desired results find themselves at the top of society, based on their merits. This makes society as a whole more competent, and helps even the least fortunate, as the most fortunate are able to use their competency to raise the standard of living.
Consequently, when anything other than talents are considered in hiring/promotions (such as race or gender in the case of DEI, or parenthood in the case of nepotism), meritocracy is threatened in favor of kakistocracy. The result is a less competent society, which harms everyone.
When it comes to red shells, the only thing you can reasonably do is the ensure everyone has equal opportunity under the law. Key words: Under the law.

@Moozer325
Idiots are sometimes successful and undeserving of what they’ve earned, and qualified people sometimes starve.
I wouldn’t say I’ve read Ayn Rand but this almost never happens. If you make good decisions, you will be rewarded in life. Not in every case, but over the course of time you will succeed. It’s really that simple.
As for Mariokart? It was always a casual game, directed towards casual players. Competitive players just find ways to deal with the randomness, and there’s some pretty neat tactics they have. For example, don’t want a random boo to steal an important item? Hold a coin instead of immediately using it.
Sure pure driving could be a bit more skill-based by pure mechanics, but the randomness tests one’s strategy. Sure it can screw you over too, but it adds a new dimension to skillful gameplay and makes the game more interesting as a whole.

Case in point.
You know damn well it’s not over this one thread, and I haven’t sought bans on other users for threads they’ve created or debates they’ve started. I’ve asked mods to ban a few users for other reasons for sure, but never over what you do.
I will not be responding any further.

@Shila
You lack critical thinking skills.
The flawed assumption in your argument is that suicides and murders will go away if guns are gone. In both cases, other methods will be used instead.
Created:
Posted in:

@Shila
About eight-in-ten U.S. murders in 2023 – 17,927 out of 22,830, or 79% – involved a firearm. That was among the highest percentages since 1968, the earliest year for which the CDC has online records. More than half of all suicides in 2023 – 27,300 out of 49,316, or 55% – also involved a gun.
… I want to test your critical thinking skills, Shila. For the point you want to make, the data you cite contains an underlying assumption about a policy change you propose. What is it, and how would someone who is pro-gun argue the assumption is flawed?

@zedvictor4
Please note that the direct impacts of gun control worsen overall crime when you compare a specific community before and after such legislation. No study has ever proven otherwise, although there’s been a lot of efforts to skew the data for such a purpose. If you want America’s crime to get even worse, you can have even more gun control.
The UK is considering arresting people who engage with certain online content or websites. Like I said… the government that disarms its populace can do far more harm than any collection of criminals… the UK is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to that.
And no, my rights do not end where fear-mongering over a rare event begins.

1. The US has a massive urban gang problem- the vast majority of US gun owners are not responsible.
2. Where gun control laws are introduced, knife and overall crime increase.
3. A government that disarms its populace can (and historically speaking, will) do more harm to its citizens than any collection of criminals.
Once again, you Europeans just don’t get it.

I’m happy Trump won and I don’t care how many fits Europe wants to throw. I don’t care for European opinions on my great country, either.
As much as I think my county’s government is too involved in the private sector’s affairs, I’m glad I don't have to worry about the speech regulations and gun restrictions many European countries have. I already think too few Americans give the federal government pushback… so that should give you an idea of what I think about Europe’s culture.

President Trump is trying to end birthright citizenship, the legal principle enshrined in the Constitution that automatically makes anyone born within the US ...You can go back to your German roots.
European thoughts American politics will never not be funny
All Trump wants to do is disallow pregnant illegals from crossing the borders, and having an “anchor baby.” That requires a specific interpretation of “birthright citizenship,” not getting rid of it. My parents are American citizens; it would not affect me.

Whose 400 year old culture is founded on Europeans, Africans and anyone else who decided to rock up.
Mostly Europeans, but merged together and distanced from Europe since 1776.
Currently headed by a Germano-Scottish President, married to a Slovenian.
*American president, married to an American who assimilated.
And an Irish- Scottish Vice President, married to an Indian.
*American vice president, married to an American.
Genetically, I have a lot of German DNA? How much do I care about it, or German culture? Zero. As far as I’m concerned, my DNA is USA.

Some people may have forgotten about him, but I haven’t. While not super active these days, he still picks up debates from time to time and remains the biggest challenger to Oromagi’s throne. As a debater, super underrated. People like to complain about how he’s farmed some lower-tier debaters, but when he goes up against another titan, he’s proven he can hang with the best of em, including a 1-1 record against Oromagi. Has posted a little in the forums.

I didn’t care enough to watch. I heard Trump had some harsh things to say. Considering what Democrats have put him through the last 10 years, I’m willing to bet he was pretty lenient in his criticisms.
Heard some other news about the Democrats’ holding signs and refusing to clap for some disabled kid. This might be a hot take, but I don’t really give a shit about any controversy surrounding that.

It’ll probably affect a few urban locations… and that’s about it. Unless a lot of left-wing Americans outside of the black church get involved, nothing else will happen.
I’m going to guess Target isn’t expecting much backlash, which I think is noteworthy since historically they’ve been left-leaning whenever they get involved in anything political… so whatever data on their customers they have, they really aren’t expecting much of a hit.
Or, perhaps they want to expand their customer base. I’ve noticed a lot of companies are bending the knee to Trump on a few things (Facebook being another recent example) and I’m willing to bet it has something to do with Trump winning the popular vote for the first time. I don’t recall any large companies doing stuff like this in 2016.
I’m glad Target got rid of their DEI practices; it would be nice if they did the same for their pride displays.
Politics aside, Wal-Mart is still better imo.

Pretty much. Add them and their values, and ours will be subverted. Canada as a whole isn’t just more leftist than the US, they’re also less libertarian.
