@Savant
Teammate is Earth or Whiteflame in my eyes. Austin is confirmed scum as far as I’m concerned. Compelling argument for either.
Please waive on your ability for the rest of the game. That way, it can’t be redirected.

@Earth
Mhar said "figure out" not lynch. Saying "hey ignore that elephant in the room while we go on that wild goose chase isn't exactly what I have in mind, scum hunting wise.
I mean I guess that’s fair that we can talk about it more but our lynch should be Austin today.

I think there’s a ninja because of Lunatic’s role.
Also, Lunatic literally said he saw me visit myself.

We can figure out Whiteflame later. Austin is 100% scum and I think my reasons are bulletproof. Especially reason #1.

Oh, thought of another one
4. So there’s obviously a ninja. And a redirector. That doesn’t leave anyone left who could disturb Austin’s sleep. We know the redirector used their abilities, so the Ninja probably Nk’d JoeBob.

If we take out the redirector today I can ensure you get more results

VTL Austin
I’m about to type a whole ‘nother one explaining why.
I’ll leave a tldr for Lunatic bc I feel bad about making him wait super long while my ocd ass types
1. Joebob’s role is basically the same thing as what Austin claimed, except it works with doctors and other irrelevant things
2. Doctor doesn’t work with Dreamer and I’m a dumbass for forgetting about how dreamers can be disturbed earlier
3. His behavior still sucks now that I think about it. He literally posted something like “look at me! I have this role and the matching character is the deuteragonist! No way I could be scum!”, then got busted for lying, then invented a fake gambit to cover his ass and get town cred because town was wondering if he was gambiting anyway

If I was town I would claim my role and action then write up the long post explaining why
I wanted to do it all in one post. OCD moment

@Lunatic
So you watched me. You are town confirmed because I did visit myself. I was wondering if you investigated Whiteflame and ended up getting the result of your own affiliation because there of a bus driver instead of a redirector.
First off, I don’t know how you think he is being painted in a negative light in the article. You saw two things that gave you a feeling that aligned with your read on me and cherry picked them to fit your confirmation bias. I don’t know how you think a wiki article on the main protagonist of the whole series would paint him in a negative light. I just read and so thought most of it paints Phoenix in a positive light. Ace Attorney characters are very nuanced, which is something I noticed while researching Edgeworth as a redirector. Edgeworth has some good traits, but he is well-known for manipulating evidence that he became known as the “demon prosecutor.”
However, I will full claim: Doctor.
I visited myself because I thought I would be the NK. In the night, I believed firmly that Savant was scum after my read and Owen’s innocent flip after he claimed Innocent Child, which I thought conflicted with Savant’s magistrate claim (they were two roles that could save townies from mislynches, one by confirmation and by outright prevention)… which I felt left Austin as town. I felt the scum team would be stupid to go after Austin because it would give town info on what he was doing specifically (if Austin was town, another weird gambit or layer to his gambit was not out of the question).
Therefore, I concluded their best move was to roleblock him and look for someone else to kill. I thought about protecting Lunatic because of his refusal to claim in the DP, but I rejected that idea because I didn’t think he was an investigative role, given that I believed Austin’s claim of dreamer at the time. Therefore, I didn’t believe the scum team would think Lunatic was an investigative role either. So I knew the scum team would be looking for other PRs, at which point I believed I was going to be the target. Thankfully, Casey, despite being very secretive at the time, did say I could protect myself, so I did that believing the scum team would find my breadcrumbs.
Looking back, I definitely misevaluated that, because my crumbs might have been too well hidden for mafia, and they were based on faulty reasoning on my part. In DP1, I was making a huge point of saying I liked Austin from a mechanical standpoint. I even said that his role and character work way too well “especially from my perspective.” I forgot that dreamer can be disturbed (until someone mentioned it later in the DP) so when I saw Austin’s claim, I thought, “ok, perfect.” I then thought that I, as Phoenix Wright, was supposed to protect/defend Maya Fey, as is what happened in lore. I realize that I was incorrect now, but only now because my dumbass during the DP and NP didn’t even think about how dreamer being able to be disturbed would impact my mechanical read on Austin (after someone mentioned dreamer could be disturbed).
My justification for being doctor was that time and time again, Wright has saved others from guilty verdicts, sometimes the death penalty, as a defense attorney. This is also part of the reason I scumread Savant’s claim so heavily. I misread the justification he posted and thought it conflicted with mine, and there was no way Casey would use the same justification twice. I thought Savant’s claim said Athena saved people, when it really said she vowed to do so, which is different. I was so confident on Savant being scum that by the time this DP started, I read Joebob was killed, and assumed that was all I needed to read before voting on Savant. I completely did not notice Whiteflame was protected today until minutes later.

You try explaining everything you’ve done throughout the game while typing on a mobile phone
Confirmation bias go crazy

Very big. Also heads up I have a massive scumread on Austin now, and I was typing that up before I saw Lunatic replied to me when I checked my other tab.

Oh wait you have a lore reason. God I am so dumb. Lol. I skimmed the post you linked and missed it

Ok. What about Simon Blackquill makes you think Savant is town? If you have a lore reason that links to Athena Cykes, please say. If it’s PR based, don’t

Did you investigate Whiteflame by chance last night?

@Earth
My thoughts too. He’s been giving the bare minimum, and was afraid to hammer on low time last DP. In COC endgame he said he needed to adjust to how town would latch onto to someone. He may have been scared to hammer because he saw Casey get cussed immediately for hopping on Pie’s wagon so late last game

@Lunatic
I am irritated by how much you are playing the “interesting, but I don’t wanna commit to the hard accusation” game
Keep in mind that with Savant being town, I need to reexamine all my reads again and my only real town read now is Wylted
With that being said, I’ll character claim if you do

Ok so I said to Casey that her secretiveness was bullshit in a PM and while I was ranting about it to Lunatic she said “sorry it’s my first game as mod” and decided that she would answer that one question
Someone who was given strength in the night would not be notified of it
Created:

@Lunatic
It's interesting only because if you were the redirector you would have already been able to ask the mod that question and thus would already know
Ask the mod about what? The strengthener, in which case if I was redirector I wouldn’t be told shit?
Because for some godforsaken reason Casey won’t even answer any hypotheticals about how a role would operate if it were to be in the game, unless it’s your specific role.
Minutes ago I asked her if a strengthened player would be notified of their new strength in the night… all I got was “I can’t reveal that information because it might tell you something about a role that may or may not be in the game that isn’t your own blah blah blah”
I think it’s more fair to town (and really all players) if everyone would know how a role would work if it were to be in the game (mods can answer these questions without confirming the role is in the game, just saying Casey), but hey, what the hell do I know

@Lunatic
I trusted what the wiki said. I suppose mods can differ but I wasn’t thinking about that; I trusted the wiki. How many mods do that anyway? Tbf I think I’ve seen you do that (i don’t really remember), but I think most mods are gonna look up how a role works on the MU or MS wiki and just use whatever’s there. But sure, very interesting post from me, Kramnik style
Created:

@Lunatic
Dude it literally gave a link to the MS wiki. It literally says anyone who is strengthened cannot be interfered with by any roleblocks or redirects

@AustinL0926
Yeah I think the best way to start this DP is your results

It makes sense with the game design.. although the behavior is off
Are you saying Earth may have made that claim knowing it’d work well after town figured there was a redirector?

I buy Earth’s claim now… would like to know who they targeted though

WF being the redirected (or bus driven now that I think about it) target is definitely sus. I’m not sure on earth. They’ve been hiding in the back a lot… not sure what to make of the Godot claim

@Lunatic

Would you be fine with character claiming?
I’ll consider it.

@Lunatic
Because like I’ve been saying the last two games. I like at least some lynch DP1 for information. I think I voted after Joebob said that there was no way I’d get people to go for savant in 5 minutes and I knew he was right, so I voted. I was hoping the flip would at least confirm magistrate was bs, but as it turns out, they’re both in this game
Created:

@Savant
I was gonna ask if Whiteflame was your intended target… glad you weren’t muted, which was another concern of mine
Created:

@Savant
You’re confirmed now. I was looking into the wiki and saw Edgeworth manipulated evidence in court once. I had a feeling he would be in this game, and I redirector made the most sense.
But wait, doesn’t that mean scum team doesn’t have a roleblock?
Created:

@Lunatic
I respected the hell out of your unwillingness to claim and I thought it was townie. I felt no scum that exists would actually refuse to claim there.
So I started with a new idea… what if I look at who I think is trying to fit in the most? That led me to Savant, because I townread Wylted. Even after Austin admitted he was bullshitting, I still thought the scumread on Savant was reasonable. Savant was the one operating within the parameters of the claims of 3 the most, and I thought that it was trying to blend in. Also, given that Austin was bullshitting, your willingness to look elsewhere made for sense, which ended up making Savant’s idea that you were just trying to escape POE make less sense, and I also contributed to my newfound scumread on him.
I also didn’t like magistrate from a mechanical standpoint. I felt it was redundant given protective roles and a claimed innocent child.
And about the claim: I wasn’t sold on it. Athena’s whole gimmick is her mood necklace and her emotion stuff. I felt “just saving people who were assumed guilty” was a justification better used on another character within Ace Attorney. Admittedly, I misread Savant’s post on his full claim, because the justification was never about saving someone, it was about just knowing they were innocent… and vowing to save others in the same situation in the future.
