Looking at it now in the morning, I am going to make two predictions:

1: Republicans will take the House majority. While Democrats are going to gain a lot of ground as more of these races are called, I believe Republicans have built up enough of a lead to complete the flip as the extremely close races are called. I'm thinking 219-216.

2: The Senate will be split, 50-50. The Republicans are demolishing the Democrats in AK. Republicans hold a narrow lead in NV, and I think it will hold with 77% reporting. Democrats are winning in GA, and I think they will hold it by a very small margin, even with a runoff. Democrats have a relatively comfortable lead in AZ.

But you’ll concede they are positions held by typical MAGA Republicans
Not really. The stolen election one, yes. The others, no. Regardless, I am not your typical Trump supporter. Your argument here is an association fallacy, and worthless against me.

So you think the KKK should be allowed into the public square. Great.
As long as they are peaceable in their assembly, yes. Do I agree with them? No. Are they losers? Yes. Does that mean they need to be muzzled? Absolutely not.

Also, your comparison of Trump supporters to the KKK is ridiculous. It's the same time of mindset all opponents of free speech use. Villainize them, then discredit their defense, then silence them. There's a recently-coined term for this logic: Ad Hitlerum Fallacy.

At this point, we might as well call this your theme song.

I disagree with your knee jerk assessment that there is anything nefarious happening other than an honest mistake
The only thing I said was nefarious was the negligence of the three poll workers. This is not an honest mistake. Again, the sheriff said that one of the workers knew the order from the leader of the three was wrong, and did it anyway.

I believe Indiana is the source of most of the guns used in crimes in Illinois
That's a red herring. You really have nothing, don't you?

Reasonable, educated, and well informed American citizens
And who defines who they are?

Things like Obama wasn’t an American citizen
Trump won and the election was stolen
Covid vaccines are part of a socialist plot to control us
Climate change is a hoax

More like someone disagrees with reality
None of those are positions of mine lol. Nice strawmans.

I’ve already come to the conclusion these people cannot be saved. They cannot be reasoned with. They need to be silenced or at least be driven underground, Like a KKK follower. They must not be allowed to go mainstream.
And that's how we get a totalitarian government that cannot respect freedom of speech. It's a pretty anti-American and anti-human rights position, actually.

Bullshit. You are obviously suggesting something nefarious is happening. Lying by omission is still a lie. You omitted that the people denied part of the ballot were half Republican half other, and the suspended poll workers were from both parties.
I never omitted anything. CNN did in their article, and I took the extra step to find the Twitter post that contained the omitted information.

And my point was that voters should be watchful (regardless of party). I never stated that this was any one-sided plot. Don't put words into my mouth.

Lies are not entitled to free speech. You can’t prove anything to a conspiracy theorist, because they are not rational people.
And who defines what is a "lie" and what isn't? Your statement would set an easy to exploit precedent if we followed it here.

I am focused on the truth.
Then start acting like it lol.

You on the other hand are an alarmist, screaming  fire when there is none.
Again, Post #34. I explained to you why I am not being a conspiracy theorist. You ignored it and continued to stick your fingers in your ears, repeating the same thing like a child.

Again, these people deserve nothing but derision.
"Oh, no, someone disagrees with me politically! Prove them wrong? Nah, don't feel like it. Let's mock and deride them instead!"

You're not convincing anyone with that lol. All you've done is give people reasons to stick to their beliefs, and to avoid talking to you.

That’s nonsense. It’s not suspicious if they denied ballots to both Republicans and Democrats. It is in no way criminally negligent.
It is. The law doesn't care who was denied, it cares that you take precautions into ensuring you do such an important job correctly. In case you missed it, the sheriff stated that one of the workers knew it was wrong and continued to follow the orders.

Sheriffs are some of the biggest kooks in elective office. Fortunately they don’t decide who gets prosecuted.
Well that's a bad faith argument. As for the courts, they can decide whatever; I will almost certainly trust their ruling on this, whatever it may be. We'll see what happens.

Is that what you do, respect others?
Correct. Even those who disagree with me, like Oromagi, Whiteflame, and Barney. Just not you, because of the way you behave.

People who engage in conspiracy theories need to be denied a forum to cause mischief. You are one of these. You need to leave. People who engage in conspiracy theories and spread lies and repeat nonsense deserve nothing but derision.
As per what I said in Post #34, I am not engaging in any of the sort. Regardless, even conspiracy theorists have a right to free speech on this site. You don't like a conspiracy theory of theirs? Prove them wrong. It's pretty easy when your focus is on finding and showcasing the truth instead of scoring victories and being a dick.

Not suspicious. It was just a mistake. Some Democrats were also denied those same ballots. Don’t be such a conspiracy theory looney
Mistake or not, it still is suspicious. At the very least, it's criminally negligent. The Sheriff did say that they were looking into the possibility of filing criminal charges. As for your accusations of conspiracy theory promotion, keep in mind that nothing I stated here is false, and that I'm not implying there is any widespread effort by Democrats to steal the elections, either. All I am saying is that I implore voters (Democrats, Republicans, and others alike) to report what they find is suspicious. It's not unheard of for pollsters to go rogue, and it can be caused by Democrats and Republicans alike.

Most of the people here are Trumpers. They are not deserving of respect nor do I want to “make nice”with them. I’m here simply to tamp down the nonsense and expose the idiots to some reality that they won’t find on twitter, FOX News, or OAN.
Then kindly fuck off from this site. These are discussion forums, not WWE Monday Night RAW. You have no place here if you are not going to respect others, despite the disagreements you may have with them.

Yes, it was so important to learn what the non voting Representative from Guam flipped to Republican. That seat is such a bellwether for national politics
As I said in Post #10,  "After looking into the politics of Guam, I don't see a way any of this could indicate anything for the mainland elections, but it is interesting." It may not affect us, but it affects people living in Guam. Also, its lack of effects on us doesn't automatically make it a boring topic. One more thing: Consider the fact that no votes have been reported yet. Might as well find some semi-relevant stuff to discuss while we're waiting.

Is that what is interesting to you, a rock video?
Music is an interesting subject in its own right. However, you fail to realize I wasn't talking about "The Final Countdown" when I said this. I was talking about politics in Guam.

This is why you should forget about college.
Well a big 'ol "fuck you" to music majors, I guess. Anyway, this is Exhibit B of why no one here respects you.

Found this on CNN's live updates

3 Tulsa poll workers could face charges after denying city council ballots to voters, sheriff says
From CNN's Christina Maxouris

At least three poll workers in Tulsa County’s Precinct 77 were relieved of their duties Tuesday after authorities received reports that they were not handing out city council ballots to certain voters, Tulsa County Sheriff Vic Regalado said in a news conference.

The Oklahoma county sheriff said he received video with allegations that poll workers were not giving the city council ballot to Republican voters on Tuesday morning and that “they were only being given to Democrats, Independents and Libertarians.”

The Tulsa County Election Board received a report about the incident at roughly 7:45 a.m. local time, contacted poll workers to instruct them they were supposed to give city council ballots along with the state ballots to voters and “they began handing out the city council ballots ... at 8 a.m.,” said Gwen Freeman, the election board secretary. The poll workers were relieved of their duties and new poll workers were assigned, Freeman said. A total of about 30 to 40 people who voted in the morning were impacted, Freeman said.

“We sincerely hope this does not have any significant effect on the outcome of this election,” Freeman said. “But if it’s a number of ballots that could potentially affect the outcome of the election, then the appropriate remedy would be for the affected candidate to file an irregularity by 5 p.m. on Friday.”

Detectives interviewed the poll workers at the precinct and confirmed the city council ballots were only being handed out to Democrat and Independent voters Tuesday morning, the sheriff said. The voters who were denied a city council ballot include 19 Republicans, seven Democrats, four Independents and one Libertarian, Freeman said. Poll workers cannot determine a voter's party affiliation unless they ask, "which is the irregularity and where the problem exists.

And that is what happened," the sheriff said.

The poll workers relieved of their duties included one Republican and two Democrats, among them the polling judge who was in charge of giving other poll workers instructions, Regalado added.

One of the poll workers said they were aware of the mistake but said they were following the orders of the polling judge who also confirmed the mistake, the sheriff said. But poll workers all receive training and are required to sign paperwork confirming they understand the rules of the voting process, Regalado said.

“The information that we have received does indicate that there [were] voter irregularities, we … are in the process of putting together this investigation to hand to the district attorney’s office for consideration of charges,” the sheriff said. Those charges could potentially be impeding the voting process and/or intentionally impeding the voting process by fraudulent measures, he said. “That will be up to the district attorney to decide which charges are going to be filed, if any at all.”

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I found a related post on Twitter from a local news station about the issue as well. If you're voting tonight, be sure to report anything suspicious you see any poll workers doing.

Dems have held this seat since 1990
Just looked up more information. It shows a significant gain for Republicans in Guam.

Consider 2020, when two Demeocrats ran in the general election for Guam's at-large seat (COVID caused the cancelation of the primaries). This is what happened then:

1. Michael F.Q. San Nicolas (D) ~  47%
2. Robert Underwood (D) ~ 33%
3. William Castro (R) ~ 21%

San Nicholas would go on to beat the other Democrat in a run-off in 2020:

1. Michael F.Q. San Nicolas (D) ~  60%
2. Robert Underwood (D) ~ 40%

Just two years later, we get this:

James Moylan (R) ~ 52%
Judith Won (D) ~ 47%

After looking into the politics of Guam, I don't see a way any of this could indicate anything for the mainland elections, but it is interesting.

Any favorite soundtracks/game releases for the Pokémon music?
Or does it stay relatively consistent throughout releases?
Gen 5 is considered the best by many, but my personal favorite is Gen 4. There's a bit of nostalgia at play (Pearl was my first game), but I think Gen 4 does a better job sounding serene when it should, while being on par with Gen 5 when it needs to be intense. I simply don't think Gen 5's music is as good at being serene when it needs to be. Don't get me wrong, it does well at that, but not as well as Gen 4.

Now the other Gens have great soundtracks as well, but I do believe Gens 4 and 5 were the peak.

@IwantRooseveltagain
Is Thomas suggesting that having a monolithic student body would produce more well rounded and graduates with broader wisdom?
Definitely not. I can't believe I'm saying this about a Fox News article, but this one seems pretty well written: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/justice-thomas-rejects-lawyers-rationale-using-race-admissions-diversity-dont-put-much-stock

From the article:

During arguments involving admissions policies at the University of North Carolina (UNC), Thomas asked state Solicitor General Ryan Park to describe the educational benefit to including race as a factor in college admissions. Park responded that in studies involving stock trading results, "racially diverse groups of people … perform at a higher level."

"The mechanism there is that it reduces groupthink and that people have longer and more sustained disagreement, and that leads to a more efficient outcome," Park said.

Thomas responded, "I guess I don't put much stock in that because I've heard similar arguments in favor of segregation, too."
He's not arguing for a monolithic student body, nor a diverse one. He doesn't care.

Personally, I don't care either. A high-level college is meant for high-level students. It should never matter what race they are. High-level students can still come from any race; there are many minority students that don't need affirmative action to get into some of these places. To insinuate that affirmative action (or any race-based criteria) is necessary, is to insinuate that at least one race is inferior enough to need it.

This is fair. A few years ago my father and I went down to Dallas to watch Notre Dame play Clemson in the Cotton Bowl. It is still the most painful thing I have ever experienced as a sports fan. Meanwhile, I just don't care about this season.

But yet, looking back, I am happy Notre Dame made it that far that season. While the game was awful, the season wasn't bad. Sure, I don't care that they're bad now, but I have a feeling I will be an absolutely miserable sports fan if they continue to be bad for the next decade. There would be no hope for making any of these big games. No hope for clowning on rivals for a year. No hope to even exit the abyss.

There would have to be discretion for individual forums. I think limits on threads per week are fine for the politics, current events, and religion forums, but I am 100% opposed to any sort of measure on the forum games forum.

I think it would be great if we can get a movement of better effort posters coming in and taking over the site. It's a bit of a pipe dream, but it might be worth a shot. It's probably failed before, but whatever.

Another thing I just want to mention is that sometimes good discussion can come from a quickly-written OP, like this thread I made that I felt had some good posts. Unfortunately, there were more users that just posted garbage in that thread, and I'm not sure what we can do about that.
