OK. Judging by the input everyone has given, I think the topic "Resolved: The European Union should join the Belt and Road Initiative." would be best.
It allows a broad array of argumentation from moral, to economic & political, environmental, etc.
Really, in terms of versatility, this topic is hands down the best of the bunch.
Now, we decide the how & when. Once we have decided this I will assign sides and partner people up at random. Again: it will be at least 2 rounds. One with Whiteflame on the bench (since he volunteered), the other with him included. We can do more rounds if people find it enjoyable. Heck, if it picks up, we could make it a regular thing on the site.
I was thinking maybe the 23rd, using Zoom, Google Meets, or David's suggestion of Streamyard.

This is actually the fundamental problem of having public schools. They milk the cash teets of the state by catering to it, and even more concerning: their curriculum is dictated by it.
Lot's of the issues that are presented as black & white of course have nuance. And while I think the US is one of the greatest countries to ever exist, that definitely doesn't mean we haven't made our fair share of mistakes. Nor do I think we're nearly as bad as the woke neo-marxists on college campuses purport us to be. Is it any coincidence that those woke neo-marxists are products of our education system? We spend all our time speaking of the Revolutionary War, why not speak about the evils of marxist ideology in the 20th century? Why not speak of current events? Sure, go over that history. But at least in the US we blow fucking class after class covering those same topics repeatedly.
So yeah, our education system is garbage. No one recognizes just HOW garbage it is though, because we have never had a fully private system. Oh well. Ignorance is bliss.

Mostly comes from my Christian background. People swearing idealistic allegiance to the one being responsible for all the world's suffering is something to be detested. Not to mention their beliefs: "encouraging materialism, egoism, stratification, carnality, ... and social Darwinism." It's a dangerous philosophy to spread.

Not sure how we're arranging who gets to be on what team, but probably best to randomize it between debates so that we get experience debating with different people as often as possible.
This was going to be the method. I also wanted to randomize whether the person was 1st or 2nd speaker.
As for the topics you chose, we'll let other people give input and see whether there is a topic that everyone likes.

I believe this is all of who expressed an interest.
We're going to go with a mock LD format debate between 2 teams of 2. Since we have 5 we'll just have to have a second round after the first, and whoever sits out will "judge" the 1st round & give feedback.
What sort of topic would you guys like to see? Traditional LD, or less philosophical topics (just debated in the LD format)?
Here's a few potential ones, but you all are welcome to posit your own:
- Resolved: Violent revolution is a just response to political oppression (if you guys can't tell already... I like this topic)
- Resolved: In a democracy, voting ought to be compulsory.

Hmmm... When I looked at Drafterman's role list it said that there was no particular side associated with either, but I guess maf bus driver may be the norm (sort of like with role cop). Either way, knowing Supa, what side a role is typically associated with probably doesn't matter a whole lot.

I of course could not motivate our dreamer, since they lose their dreaming if visited by anyone.
That's normally how it is, but apparently Speed's role didn't have that limiting factor (look at Page 1 to see). It explains why despite me visiting him he was able to give us Dreamer results. In fact, I didn't know that that was a thing at all until I saw Drafterman's entry on it.

Actually that was my thought too. Vote Thief seemed anti-town to me at first, but thinking about it further, I suppose it can be actually pretty helpful in a situation such as now where a quick mafia hammer is all it takes to end the game.
BTW, if I were scum making up a role, I definitely wouldn't choose something as scummy as that.

My justification is pretty simple. As Supa worded it: I am Chika from Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai. I am cheerful person, and help to serve as a comic relief. I have a "key" ability of being "perspective" (I think he meant perceptive) in relationships. I am also very naturally talented. I know 5 languages, can play piano, and am somewhat of an athlete.
Because of my innate talent in many areas, I am a JOAT (Jack of All Trades) x1 Oracle, x1 Bulletproof, x1 Vote Thief.
In NP1 I targeted Speedrace with Oracle. I was going to try and die intentionally to reveal Speed’s role, but he claimed within the first few posts of last DP. I was sus of him for a while longer but by the end of the DP I pretty much decided he was town. Didn’t see any utility in me trying to get myself lynched at that point.
As for NP2, I waived...
The Vote Thief role Supa described to me is different than the one on Drafter's role list.
His says:
You are the VOTE THIEF. Each night you may visit another player and select a second player. During the following Day Phase, the player you visited will have their vote automatically cast to lynch the second player. This vote cannot be removed.
Mine says (paraphrasing):
One night you may take away a player's vote. They will not be able to vote for the duration of the next Day Phase.
That role will be helpful if we're confident someone is scum and want to remove the scum team's overall voting power, but otherwise the utility is negative to town... hence me waiving.
